    • I have New Year’s on my mind…haha.

Rumor is Josh Mitchell is being recruited as a DT. Watching his film…he “plays high”…I think he’d be better at OT.

Even if Mitchell does move to DT, he won’t see the field for two years. Need two JCs, need two JCs, ~(cue broken record)

  1. Considering how Aziz Shittu(4 star with low interest with scholly offer) and Iona Gauta(2 star with a scholly offer) are the ONLY 2 DT recruits that the Beavs have offered or really looked into as far as offers go. So I take it that we won’t get ANY DT’s in this class unless Iona Gauta commits cause Aziz won’t commit I guarantee it.

Iona Gauta is a JC player and OSU and Iowa State are the only two on his list that offered him a Scholarship. So I’d say that our chances are better than Iowa State, but the others on his list are Hawai’i, Kansas State, and Mississippi who didn’t offer him a scholarship.

  2. *ucks are at it again with hideous uniforms! At least the main jersey/pants are their teams colors…Green! The Helmet on the other hand…that’s black. Fortunately…the black face guard/shield is illegal in college…so they will all have to wear clear or none. So the helmets won’t have the full ‘Darth Vader’ feel to them. Silly *ucks…still trying to find ways to cheat…tisk tisk tisk….

      • It’s sad to say but the Ducks could dress as ballerinas and beat the Beavs. Let’s not get caught up in packaging. I shrug every time this site devolves into a uniform discussion.

Forget about the Ducks…and let’s tend to our own coaching and personnel issues. JB

        • Why complain about the same thing over and over and hope/expect different results? We’re not insane here buddy. We all have expressed our complaints and wants for changes in the football program, but we can say with certainty that our uniforms aren’t as “busy” or “flashy” like the *ucks’ uniforms for a reason…we don’t need to be the child that dresses up weird to get attention. We get attention from how good/bad we play. Whether the Beavs play good or bad, OSU will always have better “classic” looking uniforms compared to our feathered fowl down south. So until they stick to 1-2 home/road designs a year….then we can’t complain…unless they come out with dumb stuff like the RB uni’s. Another thing is…we should have seen this coming with their “Storm Trooper” all white look they had against Boise…Oh wait…do we remember what happened the last time they used their star wars uniforms? They lost…badly. Let’s hope for another huge and embarrassment failure…cause we’re like david spade…and the *ucks are like Chris Farley. Hate to say it, but it’s true. I love Chris Farley, but he not too bright. And Chipster kind of looks like a long lost relative too… http://frathousesports.com/look-a-like-day-2-chip-kelly/

    • Hey, watching the civil war game, I looked at the UO uniforms and couldnt understand the drabness of the green. Nice to actually USE green …but of all the greens to chose from, they end up looking like they got em at Andy and Bax war surplus.

Then they showed the crowd….and they ALL were wearing that same ugly green… With all the money they have, why in the freakin world would they go DRAB??? God…

  3. I must say I am impressed with the CB recruits. It’s the second hardest position to land after DT, and the Beavs got two good prospects. Figured I’d throw that in here to be fair…

    • on the subject of corners, what would you think about moving either murphy or zimmerman to corner? personally i’m for anything that means less snaps for reynolds at this point

      • Reynolds has his moments. If he can find consistency he will be solid. Based on past experience I have a feeling he will start next year. I actually thought both corners were decent considering the lack of a consistent pass rush and the need to constantly play for the run.

        • i’m sure he will, and to me a lot of it was bankers defense, but there were plays where it was like they left him to die one on one on a deep ball

    • Ok, I’m not much for “kicks” or shoes in general, but these I’d actually purchase because I want to get back into pick up basketball games and what better way than to show off my team colors! GO BEAVS!

On another note, I got a pair of OS basketball shorts from my Godfather/Uncle and I’ve actually been needing a pair for 2-3 years now after my other pair wore out cause I wore them so much in the summer. These shoes would go great with those shorts and my sleeveless shirt.

  4. No doubt. Tried to make up for several years of poor recruiting with a shotgun approach last year. Seemed like about 3/4’s of the class was DE’s(no real DT’s). Hit the bullseye with Wynn, but the rest are still question marks. I thought Gonzalez was bigger?

  5. A couple quick notes before bed…

If you buy the Air Jordans, don’t wear them for hoops. They’re fun to look at, but Jordans are notorious for blow-outs. It’s like designers made the shoes and forgot that cobbling was once a profession.

If Nikegon loses in the Rose Bowl, then they will have lost in successive years to an Under Armor team and an Adidas team which unceremoniously dumped Nike.

And this year all that’s missing from their unis is the midget who rides on the shoulders.

One last note… I was looking at the 6A All-State team, and I saw a name that looked awfully familiar. Sunset DL David Fennell is 6’3″, 275# and first team defense in 6A. It’s unlikely that he’s related, but there was a DT in the Canadian league who was a terror for years by the name of Dave Fennell.

  6. The ucks are just becoming a big joke nation wide. While other college teams concentrate on playing “real” football, the ucks try to get attention by being different. There is nothing wrong with posting one’s opinion relating to uniforms. Beaver fans let them wear our school colors and do nothing about it.

The big difference between the ucks and Beaver fan, donor and alumni base is……..the ucks would not allow a head coach to continue another year after 4 straight Civil War loses and two loosing seasons in a row…….I have to hand it to them for that. Uck fans would get press involved and really put a losing coach on the hot, hot, hot seat. Even though I try as an individual to let OSU contacts know how wrong it is, 99% of you don’t do anything. Pathetic really.

    • You are such a martyr, man. I wish I could be a Beaver like you. I bet Bob DeCarolis has no choice bit to pay attention to your activism. In no way is anybody writing to Bob, or canceling their season tickets, or publicly challenging Buker on his blog, or trying to get Angry Beav gear made. You are a true hero, my friend.

Ps… As one of 99% who isn’t doing anything all I can say is “Fuck you buddy”. Has it ever occurred to you that there are many people that are pissed off but the reality is that lifetime contracts and money talk? Unless you actually show evidence that you are doing anything you are going to receive nothing but scorn when you suggest that no one here is making a difference

      • Nice language calypse……what I said is true, deal with it. The truth is people in numbers talk, i.e. fans who stick together towards a cause, which evidently us Beaver fans are unable to do. Contracts and big money can crumble in an instant facing people in numbers……how do you think other college programs are forced to change. I realize that Bob D. comes into his office every morning and pushes the delete button on his computer, that is the type person he is, just like Mike Riley. They don’t want to hear anything negative. But I still email.

The bottom line is can members of Beaver Nation do more….answer is YES……even you can.

  7. Rumor in Big !0 land is that Pac 12 and Big 10 will start playing an entire conf. vs conf. series starting in 2017. My two alma maters, OSU and U of Minn., already have a series scheduled. Hope that is part of the deal.

    Beat the Dogs in Seattle!

  8. Speaking of defensive tackles -This one signed with Montana State. “Camas high school’s Odin Coe – head high school coach Jon Eagle said he’s now cleaning and jerking around 300 pounds. Eagle thinks MSU got a steal in him. That’s typically what every high school coach says about his kids, but most high school coaches aren’t quite as adamant about it as Eagle was about Coe.

“In my opinion, he was a kid that got overlooked by some people,” Eagle said of Coe, who was offered walk-on spots at Oregon, USC and Washington. “These guys were looking for linemen that were 6-foot-5, 6-foot-6, 6-foot-7. It’s just ridiculous. (Coe) is probably an inch or two too short. This happens all the time, the Pac-10 will bypass a kid that is more athletic but doesn’t have long enough arms. He fell through the cracks and Montana State just got one heck of a find, in my opinion.”

Sounds a little like Kellen Moore was too short . . .

  9. Oh well, if OSU says they don’t need defensive tackles, who are we to quibble? It just seems odd that angrybeavs can find defensive tackles and those who should be seeking them can’t seem to.

  10. I have said before that I have contacts at OSU – no brag, just fact. I have been asked to provide the insights that I claim to have to this group; however, I typically don’t have time to provide insight to this group for a few reasons:

    1) I have an extremely busy work schedule that does not allow me to question every move at OSU
    2) 90% of my conversations involving the school that are not made public have been provided to me under confidentiality. Meaning that I have been asked not to share a great deal of what I have been told.
    3) It would be extremely unprofessional for me to use my connections just to provide insight on this blog.

In addition to my contacts at OSU, I also have contacts around other schools around the country due to my past life in athletics and due to having made friends via networking in several different sports. That being said, I have looked into Odin Coe before. Here is what I can tell you all given my connections at Whoregon, OSU, and Montana State.

    1) He plays in a weak conference and hasn’t shown enough consistency in his film to warrant a scholarship. He has to improve and show that he can dominate at the high school level on every play.
    2) He has been offered a walk-on spot with OSU and rather than talk through that more with the PAC 12 schools, he decided to go to MSU.
    3) MSU is very high on him and showed him a lot more love than any PAC 12 school

I haven’t looked into the other prospects.

On the Craig Robinson front, I can’t go into details, I know of an individual that has coaching experience at basketball’s highest level. He reached out to CR before the season to help him with X’s and O’s and CR did not respond to the offer.

I will continue to provide information as I can.

    • The insights don’t need to be in-depth or even directly related to any one person or group. You have some anonymity here, and providing what would be your own insight can benefit the discussion without breaching anyone’s trust.

Interesting note on Coe. I know the discussion about Owa turned briefly to a discussion about David Vieru a couple years ago when David Douglas played Reynolds and Vieru dominated Owa on both sides. So I guess Owa not dominating every game, let alone play, was not a factor in his recruitment.

Coaches who help coaches can be suspect when out of the blue. Coach Rob talks a lot to Pete Carill and Nate McMillan about system development. Too many cooks could spoil the broth… or an open mind could incorporate that which is good easily. Who knows?

    • I appreciate your sharing whatever you can do. To me, a secondary point about Odin Coe related to the coach’s comment about Pac-10 (sic). How, in his opinion, athleticism is overlooked in favor of a cut and dried physical attribute.

      • If Odin is near 300 lbs. when it comes to the clean and jerk as his coach says then that is a strong kid. Does not mean it transfers to the field as technique becomes more and more important at each level. It will be interesting to see how he develops at Montana State.
