Unlike a lot of Beav fans, I’m not flinching after last week — still love GA and think he’ll do great things over time. This season will be up and down, and I expect to see things click on offense as we move along.
Andersen said San Jose State runs a pro offense, wants to pound the ball, had has a lot of trick plays. I’ll take his word, because I could only make it through 5 minutes of their game last week. What I saw: QB threw a lot of balls in the flat, hit one nice TE seam route, their offensive line looks undersized. I didn’t watch any defense. I know some guys here watched that game, so chime in with a scouting report.
This has the potential to be a huge turning point for the Beavs QB situation. Weber State meant very little except getting nerves out, MI was a test and wake-up call, and what they need right now is a soft D1 team — a team better than Weber State but (much) worse than Michigan, and that’s what they get. The schedule actually worked out well here.
Beavs just need to take care of their own issues. Clean up special teams (a lot of that was nerves) and get into a grove on offense. I feel like they’ve been experimenting with personnel and play calling just to see who can do what in games. Beavs have depth problems and will be taking off some redshirts this week, too. Aydon is going to play, and my guess is that’s because San Jose runs a pro offense and GA wants to run some 4-3 (people in another thread suggested he only runs 3-4, but he said early on they’d do both). Versus Michigan they didn’t have the bodies to run much 4-3 but Aydon should help (he looks raw on film, but hopefully he’s been coached up. Fun with cliches!). So, I expect to see some defensive experimentation now that GA knows pro offenses with physical players will run all over the Beavs. He’s going to try to plug those holes with what he has (desperately need to get more big bodies in this program). He’s taking off redshirts is for San Jose State but probably with Stanford in mind the following week. It’s smart to get Aydon and any other big body some work this week.
Everyone is chalking this one up as a win, which is never a good thing, but after that loss to Michigan I think these will be some peeved Beavs.
38-13, good guys
Since Paul Lucas’ redshirt is already burned (he did play in the WS game, didn’t he?) I expect him to get some touches. Is it too much to predict this game is Bolden’s and Smith’s last shot? If VB can’t get past the line of scrimmage or make some catches or Smith keeps making stupid mistakes they will be relegated to spot play? You would think that two players with such hype and physical ability would be able to succeed at least a little bit despite the other offensive woes.
Lucas also played at Michigan. He ran at least one fly sweep motion when Storm came in the game.
I think he also was the guy on Special Teams who got flagged for pulling a face mask on a kickoff return when trying to help tackle a player around the 20. Oops.
I thought that was Hill.
The commentators said it was Lucas, but it was actually Hill when they showed the replay.
Oh that’s right! The refs called the wrong number. There was no 16 near that tackle.
I think Bolden’s hype was unfounded. Lazy beat writers wanted to crown him next Brandon Cooks when Cooks left. Many here called this out at that time. Over a year later, he hasn’t shown any signs of progress. He is probably the 5th or 6th best guy at receiver on this team.
If you play less than 30% of your games with none before the mid point of the season then you can still redshirt. Lucas’ redshirt is not burned yet.
That’s if you’re injured and can’t return for the remainder of the season. And it’s not technically a redshirt. It’s a medical exemption you have to apply for after the season… presumably with a note from the doctor.
If the Gilman made the switch to LB it seems like Nall could. This is the second coaching staff so enamored with his ability and potential they can’t seem to figure out where to put him. He’d could drop weight and still add some legitimate and valuable size at 230-235 to LB.
Three sentences and only errors in two of them?!?
“If Gilmore…..
…valuable size at LB at 230-235….”
I’ve been arguing this for a while now. 250 is too heavy for him (he said it himself). He played LB in HS and was pretty good at it. At 225, he’s pretty fast too. Perhaps he doesn’t want to play LB and would rather make a go of it as a RB.
Air Force’s stat line from SJSU game last week –
3/11 for 24 yards.
69 rushes for 428 yards.
I think we’ll see a heavy run option this week with some fades mixed in. It suits Collin’s and the team’s strengths. Don’t think we’ll learn a whole lot about the team this week.
Feeling like it’ll play out similar to the Weber St game but the offense will convert a bit more. McMaryion will get some reps again. But he needs to step it up. When you are the backup, you have to shine in whatever opportunities you get.
If I remember right is is a sin to post an oregonlive.com article here but I just had to as this is a very telling and good read from Gary Anderson’s own mouth.
I am still very high on GA. I a business and I have to hire and fire people all the time. The one’s I fire are usually the victims according to themselves. The good hires are not perfect in all that they do, but they take ownership and have that attitude that they will forge on despite what they are dealt. Everything I’ve been reading about Anderson is he is a great hire.
http://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2015/09/gary_andersen_outlines_many_ta.html#incart_river
My only concern this year is can he take this young, inexperienced, mostly unrecruited by GA, team and win some games to help him in recruiting and to get Beaver Nation solid behind him. I think Anderson has some balls taking this position because his legacy at OSU can make him or break him for his future.
I a business = In business (fat fingers)
anemec and goe are the only questionable Olive links because they are almost as much about them or the Ducks as they are about what they purport to be reporting. Moran is still on the fluff and “here are the links” garbage. But he’s allowed to write every once in a while. Gina and Quick are always fine.
I’ll read Canzano too. Goe is anathema.
and as if right on cue, I see from the O-live menu that Goe has a story up today about how GA’s honeymoon is already over. simply disgusting journalism.
They’re butthurt that the ducks lost and VA got sand in his va jay jay so they have to trash OSU to feel better about another no natty season.
And butthurt that Riley is gone too.
Good points and a nice find, BeaverBill
Sorry to go off topic, but anyone else get a chuckle from this from Dwight Jaynes? I don’t follow this guy but he sure sounds like the poster boy for the Riley fan club!
Notice he is talking about what went on AFTER the game, and, yeah, GA does “seem like a fine…fellow who can coach SOME football”
http://www.csnnw.com/ducks/osu-must-remember-who-it-ducks-must-remember-field-goal
Sorry to go off topic, but anyone else get a chuckle from this from Dwight Jaynes?
I’m going to stop reading right there and just say no. I have never read anything from that guy that is even close to coherent.
What happened AFTER the game?
GA was “snippy”……according to the writer.
That’s it? That may be the most intelligent thing Jaynes has ever written.
In other news, water is wet… and flows downhill.
Snippy is good – especially because Dwight Jaynes objects to it. I’m sure you all noticed his snide comment after the EWU/Oregon game – that Beau Baldwin would be a good coach for the Beavs.
Dwight Jaynes is a fat person who thinks if he persists in being jolly everyone will like or pay attention to him. I don’t get his take a dig at Oregon State persona.
I don’t even care what he looks like or his personal health choices. His mind is what makes him revolting.
+1
Jason Quick was pissing and moaning about it right after the game.
I didn’t see him write about how unprofessional he himself is in his write-up. Was this on twitter?
Yeah it was on twitter:
Wow. New appreciation for @WinTheDay postgame media availability after dealing with @OSUBeaversFB in Ann Arbor. #closeddoor— Jason Quick (@jwquick) September 12, 2015
Twitter’s an appropriate place for snap judgments.
We drank!
Jaynes was one of the worst in the Riley apology crowd; the “be careful what you wish for” type. This is a good reminder that after only two weeks we’ve already seen the outlines of the Beaver football version of the Thermidorian reaction. There are a lot of folks out in the media who not only have a tolerance of but an appetite for Andersen failure. Kind of like the mirror image of those of us who can’t wait for Riley to fail.
Wait… I’m confused. Are we supposed to be the Jacobins?
Dear peckerhead, I mean Dwight
You are 100% spot on correct. Oregon St isn’t the ducks. They don’t aspire to be. They’re Oregon St. If you wish for them to be more like the ducks, well, tough shit. Oregon St isn’t going to utilize shady recruiting practices, pushing gray areas or skirting the rules. Which is what most of us would prefer. Nor are they going to cater to you or anyone else in the media. It’s no secret from your articles slamming OSU that you’re a duck honk and alum who’s unfillphilled fantasy is to be treated like Chinese finger cuffs by Helf and Phil. The world is aware. Should you wish to cover the ducks, may I suggest you get your knee pads on and beg your supervisor to switch you to covering the ducks beat.
Signed,
Oregon St fans
Jay Mohr tweeted a pic of Jaynes sending a signal to Chipster on the Eagles sideline
https://twitter.com/VitoViolante/status/643606268347871233
These kinds of articles are perfect…..it proves it was all about “nice guy Riley” and his pleasant accessibility. It had shit to do with Riley’s coaching ability. Jaynes is too much, he’s pissed at GA for showing real emotion after a tough loss? Give me a fucking break.
Enough about him. Time is better spent writing about how to properly clean a litter box.
I think it’s the intangibles we take away from Michigan that help us from here on out. We know what it’s like to be physically deficient. One would hope we do the same to those we can beat because of what we learned. And one would hope that we play smarter and a more complete game against those who think they can do the same as Michigan.
A part of being tough is getting up after you get beat down. Yes, we looked like Cool Hand Luke out there on Saturday. But we kept getting back up and did it again and again. That’s how you learn to be tough. And that’s how you learn to… not pick your battles… but be more tactical… extend the fight and use their supposed power and aggressiveness against them.
I really like how GA puts it. We’re young, inexperienced, learning to be tough, making mistakes, maybe not executing here and there. That’s all on him. He needs to teach the players to play smarter, harder, faster. They can try all they want, but if he doesn’t give them the proper tools and instructions, it’s not their fault if they fail. It’s his alone. And that’s why perceived deficiencies in talent, speed and power can’t be used as excuses.
That sort of internalization becomes the identity. Players want to be better for that kind of coach. They know he has their backs. They want to have his.
I expect a more focused team for a more extended period this week. SC will learn more. He put a good first drive in. He was serviceable for another two or so drives, but not really good. Then the wheels fell off. And that was with one week of full reps. Another week means more install.
I would liken it to an in-game punch in the mouth only in the context of the season. We’ve been punched. Now it’s time to wake up and do work knowing what that feels like.
And, as far as I can tell, GA has held to his promise to not use the time zone thing as an explanation for problems. I like that and believe it was a minor factor in being a well rested team; it won’t be a factor this week.
He actually had them ready to play. Time zone issues are apparent from the beginning, resulting in sluggish play and major assignment gaffes. They came out fast and strong. And then they weren’t. So he did a good job there, and it wasn’t brought up by anyone in the presser.
Seems to me lack of sufficient good sleep can be covered up by adrenaline at the start but fatigue (especially when expected to play at this level) eventually takes over.
It’s not a matter of sleep/no sleep. That’s just boneheaded if a coach screws that up. It’s a matter of what time you get up and do your morning routine, eat and get into workouts. NFL teams don’t have issues with this because they have a routine. The later you get in the day, the less routine has to do with it. But NFL players’ routines are set for 1pm EST every Sunday.
When you break routine it is fairly apparent on the field.
It’s a matter of good sleep, not time in bed which is what the coach may control. That and routines. You can put a 18-22 year old to bed but you cannot make him sleep soundly.
Don’t want to beat the sleep thing to death here, as said at the beginning I see it a minor factor, agree about routine.
You’ll see this is most apparent in the NCAA Tourney when teams travel this way and that and start playing in morning hours PST on day one. You can get too late as well. A 7pm PST game for an east coast team isn’t as bad as an am game for a west coast team. But it can throw them for a loop.
As a pilot I can confidently say oneoldbeav is correct here. The adrenaline flatlined after our fumble, and the whole game sped up on them, which is to say the team was sluggish. East bound travel is generally 3x more difficult than westbound. Human evolution had never faced a shorter day before modern transport.
SC Serviceable? He’s been almost perfect!!! It’s everyone else on the team who has sucked. Lines, RB’s, Receivers… I’ve coached many years of high school football and know some people who have played in college and the pros so I know more then everyone here combined! Believe it brothers!!!
GO BEAVS!
My word, it’s nice to know we have someone with all that knowledge posting!
Angry,
SJST played at Minnesota the last couple years. They run a Pro style offense and had some decent skill players. Many of the plays are from the Riley stable. It was kind of fun to watch them because I could see the same route trees and play progressions. The offense is dead on to one that was was run by either Central or Western Michigan a ways back. It was pretty pass heavy and the QB was not too bad a thrower.
Last year the Gophers beat them pretty easily with the backup QB playing and completing only ONE pass. Two if you count the interception he threw. They were physically overmatched by our O-line and the backup QB killed them with the read option. He ran for something like 163 yards.
So this game should be a bellwether for seeing if our run game can get it together.
GA, call me for the game plan!
San Jose State actually has bunch of former Michigan coordinators
OC – Al Borges – Former OC for Michigan for Hoke
DC – Greg Robinson – Former DC for Michigan under Rich Rod
ST – Dan Ferrigno – Former ST for Michigan under Hoke
The scheme is something that Michigan went away from but they recruited the type of athletes that OSU went up against last week so there should be some level of familiarity there.
Go Blue….

RT Mike Remmers (2.5) and CB Josh Norman (4.3) posted the best PFF grades for offense and defense respectively.
LOL. Hip, hip….
fwiw – North Dakota State defeated Weber last weekend 41-14. I’ve heard score comparisons have no value. North Dakota State continues to be very good even after Bohls’s departure. Is it all those hefty Scandinavians?
Ya fur sure don’t ya know. They have made a living taking under recruited MN kids.
You have to have heard that dialect in order to appreciate your description.
Bohl leaves NDSU… and promptly loses to who?
dunno about promptly – isn’t this Bohl’s 2nd year at Wyoming? promptly this year, as in first game, I did notice Wyo lost to plain old North Dakota. I thought Bohl was good enough to go to a more prestigious team so I was surprised when he went to Laramie. That might be a genuinely difficult place to which to recruit.
Any loss to UND is prompt to NDSU. But you are correct. I used the wrong term.
And now that I’ve spoken about it, NDSU will lose to UND this weekend?
The place with a true altitude advantage.
And they don’t have an airport there either
http://www.airnav.com/airport/KLAR
OT-
Vernon Adams has a broken finger.
Like I said before, it’s pretty convenient the ducks injury news “leaks” after they lose a game. Gives the committee a built in reason to excuse the loss at Mich St when picking playoff teams.
They had it down to an art form when Mariota was in town.
He broke doing his add’n and subtract’n with his finger for his big math test.
Actually, he was doing fractions?
Well played.
Beavers win 27-6, holding San Jose State under 250 yards of offense.
No predictions this week, just expecting them to beat down SJSU. We are a better team than Air Force….
Ricky Ortiz is a linebacker now.
Sounds good to me, at least at LB the avocado kid can, by his own efforts, move toward the spotlight. Not sure how much he’s seen the field on O, but sure didn’t seem like plays were called to utilize him.
I expect him to contribute in 3-4 lineups.
deja vu?
Think this means Togiai’s redshirt just came flying off?
pretty much
Does that mean The Inspector has been relegated to 3rd string “STUD” Linebacker?
“WEAR WHITE: Beaver fans are encouraged to don their white Beaver gear this Saturday when OSU takes on San Jose State.”
Why wear white at a home game?
People have white beaver gear?
Long sleeve shirt is as cool weather as I get. I’m set for black and orange with hoodies and rain gear.
An evil ploy by the bookstore/beaver store to increase sales?
Soon to be flying off the shelves…
http://osubeaverstore.com/Search/Results?criteria=white%20hoodie
No white jackets and two other white sweatshirts.
Informal poll:
Using the thumbs, who here actually tries to wear the correct color to Reser when the Beavs request fans to go all Orange, White or Black?
I wouldn’t expect many do. It’s not like we all have multiple options when it comes to rain gear, and for most of the season, you end up wearing rain gear anyway, regardless of the color of your shirt underneath.
I’ve never been a big fan of teams doing the color coordination thing, unless they give everybody entering the stadium the same shirt to wear, like NBA teams do in the playoffs (i don’t really like that very much either though)
I do when it’s orange or black. If I were going this weekend if probably just wear orange by default.
When it is done well it looks pretty cool. Iowa does a good job with it. White? Try the school colors.
Tennessee looked pretty cool with their white and orange checkerboard fan sections. I don’t have any white Beaver gear, so I’m wearing orange by default.
Easy. If it were “wear black” people might think it’s a blackout. Then we’d get a handful of idiots in blackface and fros, a bunch of Schnellish articles about racism in Crackervallis, and all that crap. This is why we can’t have black things :(
Will we see idiots in whiteface?
Would anybody but me find that funny because the whole thing is absurd?
Ya it’s Oregon, damn saltines…
That’s the thing. If we see idiots in whiteface no one will care except mimes and clout-lacking albino groups. No one cares about white people as a race unless it’s to complain about them, so if they take offense big deal.
You are correct. No white guilt here.
White is the absence of color; no one should be offended.
Actually white is all colors combined. Black isn’t a color.
That’s only true of light. White light is all colors combined and black is the absence of color. In pigments, the colors combined make black and the absence of is white.
I’m a nerd.
GWH for the win.
I see…

Dave in Tumwater on the Joe Beaver Show today called out the Riley apologist media for rooting for Andersen to fail. Spot on. I swear he’s an angrybeav
I don’t know why everyone is obsessed with being right/wrong. Don’t people have things to do?
If people had things to do, this site would be deserted
If I didn’t spend half of most days waiting for people who have things to do (and an excuse for every one they’re not doing), I wouldn’t be here one-tenth as much.
BTW, I’m Dave in Tumwater.
Hey, DiT is nothing to joke about! He’s the angrybeavs John Galt
So he’s a train wreck?
WHO IS DAVE IN TUMWATER
He’s certainly not some babbling magical metallurgist who invented cold fusion and goes around saving bankers.
You go with a poorly conceived character from some novel so poorly conceived and written that it allows any teen who first reads it to finally understand why anyone would think Pilgrim’s Progress is a fun, refreshing and exciting tome of ideas?
How about:
Who was that Dave in Tumwater anyway?
Staying with the westerns, you could vary it by riffing off Butch & Sundance’s, “Who are those guys?”
Or you could stop asking who is and start confirming content.
Oh hey there I am again.
I wasn’t the one insulting Dave in Tumwater.
If there’s anyone on the site who takes me too seriously…
… it’s you?
Dude! You can’t shit on someone and not expect someone to defend him or her.
Did Dave in Tumwater want MM for QB?
Interesting:

HOW TO READ:
Scroll all the way to the right. As this is Week 3, the computer’s predictions for each game are under the column listed as “W3” Positive number indicates a favorite, negative indicates an underdog and the number is by how much.
If you wish to sort the sheet alphabetically, sort everything BUT the top team, or google’s rank system will act all funky. (This means leave the #1 team out of your sorting). You can also look down the line at the future predictions with W4 and on.
After what I saw last week I don’t think there’s any chance in hell for this team to score 38 points.. Maybe in the next two games???
I’m just hoping we can eek out a win. This staff does not get a pass just yet. Baldwin is worst than Langsdorf or Garret so far.
17-14 beavs
Not buying Baldwin being worse. Last time we had such a bad QB situation was freshman Mannion, and they went 3-9 that year
* worse lol
You really think Michigan at home is equal to SJSU on the road?
Not at all but one thing I think is happening is people are making Michigan out to be this juggernaut. They are not that good of a football team. 6 maybe 7 wins and we looked absolutely terrible against them. I was there. It was really really bad. Hopefully its a small sample size and we can turn it around as our super young team matures but what I saw was not anything close to a good football team or a team capable of putting up 38 points on anybody.
I would love to be wrong.
Where’s Nicholls State when you need them? Bet we could put up 38 on them! Not so sure about 39.
You saw their T.O.P in the 2nd half, hard to score when you don’t have the ball.
I think Michigan is overrated, but not even Alabama wins under those circumstances IMO. Harbaugh was not gonna lose that game, if they beat Utah the week before different story. Media wouldn’t be able to handle 0-2 Jim and 1-1 Riley
Disagree the stadium was dead quiet and the fans around us were nervous. If bolden doesn’t fumble and we come away with even 3 there it’s honestly a whole different game. Bama would have beat them into submission. We just flat out choked as a staff and team.
Water under the bridge now onward and upwards!
Many Michigan fans went out of their way to tell me that they were sweating bullets through that whole first quarter. It was awfully quiet except for in the visitors’ section ;-)
Ya I watched the game, past the 1st Q you know…
Ya like I said earlier in the week Victor fucked us, we go up 14 we looking good, but I still think we lose due to home field calls… That punt return block in the back was bullshit and costly
So apparently we’re rocking the all white uniforms. The all orange versions are easily the best (2013 Civil War is the only time we broke em out), I don’t understand why we don’t rock that look more often. Or have the 2014 Utah game uniforms (orange-orange-black) with the stripe removed or altered from the pants. Those should be worn as much as possible.
White it is. I’m still wearing orange if I can help it though.
The orange unis come across somewhat strange on tv; the red seems to come through more. The big guys look like puffy Cheetos in the all orange. Also remember a comparison to traffic cones; which is about how Banker’s D usually played against UO.
It’s a late afternoon/evening game so temps shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t know why they wouldn’t just wear black.
Because they might be the ugliest uniforms in CFB. The whites are the only ones that are not hideous.
Yeah, the black on black are not good. Those, the black on orange and orange on black would be better if they removed all the white stripey things from the black unis and helmets. Especially on the helmets, it makes them look like lollipop heads.
What’s worse is that we got screwed on the rebranding thing (or we screwed ourselves internally), and it’s still better than what we had. But what’s good anymore when the bar is set at the bra unis?
One of us just has to become a billionaire and dictate a new branding that some five year-old can come up with. I’m tired of failed arena league designs. Anyone want to volunteer to be that billionaire?
“But what’s good anymore….”
That’s the question I think. I am tired of turning on a game and not even recognizing a school/team because so many are attempting to follow UO’s lead with variable uniforms. All of which seems to benefit Nike, Adidas, and Under-Armour the most.
OSU sports finally has “got it right” with a strong, competent, coaching in baseball, basketball (men and women’s), and football (gymnastics and wrestling seem to do well in their context). I think OSU needs to “get it right” with the uniforms and then have the conviction to stick with those unis for at least several years while everyone else treats their teams like nike fashion dolls. The black/white/orange scheme offers enough combinations for the kids to have fun with it but not so many OSU has to become unrecognizable any given Saturday. Or Thursday night. Or Friday night….
Ya I like all our jerseys except the “no logo/anything” black lids. Wasaaaaayyyyy better than that bullshit “concerned” gopher that we used when I was there 01-05′. Or the bras soon after… You can’t be serious thinking the old logo and jersey set up is better than what we have now. Ideally we would have used the old Benny IMO, but that’s the way shit goes.
Benny rules! We have a good logo and have flushed it. Dumb.
The angry poop smear was the worst.
Not!
*naught
*knot?
mostly
heh heh
I might be wrong, but the orange unis looked totally red the first time, and maybe there were adjustments made by the production (cameras or something) and the orange came through better the next game. Some other team looked more red, too, around the same time. Maybe Syracuse?
They still look red…..and dumb. Looks like a bunch of Crayolas on a football field.
OT and Duck-centric, this is too great the P-T is calling out the Ducks on their ‘we don’t talk about injuries” rule than citing injuries after losses. The opening paragraph:
“Lose a game, publicly cite an injury or injuries as part of the reason — it sure seems to be the M.O. with the Oregon Ducks.”
http://www.pamplinmedia.com/pt/12-sports/273114-148949-jason-says-whats-hurting-the-ducks-besides-an-injured-finger
Hey quacks, when players are injured try calling the ambulance instead of the waaaaaaaambulance
About time someone called them out.
HELL YA! hahahahaha
Who’s the bitch ass duck who -1’d me?
Who cares? It’s funny sometimes. But it’s about as worthless as my tits.

Tnx for the link. I notice Drew Clarkson got some practice time at left guard, saw him at tackle in the game. Hope GA finds a place for him to get an honest shot; he could be good down the line.
I’m impressed with Andersen’s and staf’f ‘s energy and the willingness to shuffle, change, shake up, implement and practically start over.

Suk and Ropp on 1080am talking about watching a replay of the Michigan game. Apparently they say you can lip read GA saying something along the lines “not gonna do it, not gonna do it. Go back to Texas my friend”
They speculate it was related to the Storm situation. They plan to ask him about it in their weekly interview with GA. This could get ugly.
How does GA become such a magnet for the media stirring the pot? I feel like he had similar conflicts with the media when he was at Wisconsin?
I’m picturing Dana Carvey doing George Bush Sr.
Was thinking the same thing as i typed it out
“Wouldn’t be prudent…”
Not at this juncture, respect the process….
Because when you have “spotless nice guy Riley” at the helm who caters to the media’s every whim there will be no negative limelight.
When do they do their weekly interview?
I think it will happen during the 5 o’clock hour today
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTRmyXX6ipU
The more I see the 180 the media’s done from cheering Riley to heckling Andersen, the more I like Andersen.
Riley was content being #2 in his own state and never really said anything. Duck-loving media liked that. To them, Riley meant Oregon State knew its place – always playing the meek second fiddle to UO. They don’t like Andersen since he’s still hungry and has actual opinions.
Yep. I agree with you.
Baldwin wants to score points and beat “that team down south.” Love that atttitude.
That’s exactly right, and they should probably be called out publicly here, and by you guys on twitter.
Yup, that’s why I took time to comment on Dwight Jaynes (sp?) article (as did several others).
You’re doing gods work :)
You know… I would be oblivious to the absolute fucking stupid idea that we got less than we asked for… from those who said we should be careful what we ask for… except that I get links on here… which I refuse to click out of principle (and because the guilty are named to protect my innocence).
What the hell is going on out there? There’s discord among OSU fans about GA?
WELL THAT’S A DAMN FINE THING!!
It took you fucks long enough to wake up to reality. Now you’re going to question our coach? Now you’re going to get fucking upset at 1-1? Now you’re going to get upset at this and that?
You people don’t deserve what you had, let alone what you got. And you loved what you had, you lazy sacks of shit.
Get over your like-fest for mediocre garbage. Get used to expecting and wanting good to great. And if that means we shed crap media types along the way, so be it.
And do not ever think that I would take the Nikegon model to be successful for my alma mater. I would rather fire Stansbury and rehire Lynn Snyder than do it that way.
First of all, I would yell and scream about my degree losing value on the open market in big chunks year after year. Second, I would have to defend that shit and be a Duck fan.
Life doesn’t get much worse than having a worthless education and being a Duck fan.
PHIL STEELE REPORT WEEK 3:
San Jose State Offense/Defense/Special Teams Rank: 84/104/109
Oregon State Offense/Defense/Special Teams Rank: 77/92/47
The last time these schools played each other was in 1997 with OSU winning
by 19. After beating FCS schools to open the ssn, both teams were brought
back down to reality last week. SJSt lost at Air Force, getting outg’d by 162
yds while all’g 428 (6.2) rush yds! The Beavers lost at Michigan, getting
outg’d by 267 yds while all’g 225 (4.7) rush yds. Last year OSU all’d a loss to
affect them the next week, but now have a new HC roaming the sidelines. My
computer is calling for the Spartans to keep this one close and I agree.

27-25?
Harumph.
I understand his logic, but I do not understand his logic. Our D is not a D that gives up big plays. SJSU only has stats because of a couple big plays.
Reality does not meet the stat page for this calculation. I would totally buy 7-5. But 27-25? Schmoker!
The projection is above under the writeup. 28-24 is the projection, 27-25 is what his computer says.
