Texas ours Strong on their shoulders after 2 wins, upset of #10 Ok. Saved his job for maybe the seaon, but lame. Screw USC, what if Texas got Chi He likes recruiting Texas…
Go beavers! A win today very possible, but concerned about OSU secondary play.
Angry, before I get spambot blocked again, is there a way to get past that plugin? The captcha just ends up being broken on any browser I try(Chrome and Edge).
I try to post, it sends me to a spam plugin page that asks me to fill in a captcha. Except the picture for the captcha is broken so I can’t post again for like a day.
Hasn’t happened yet, trying to space out my posts a little bit more.
Mannion would never have rolled out. And who is this “Katz” you speak of? Probably some super talented kid that got benched for no reason, if I had to guess…
I think he is better than Banker, but he’s not as great as people make him out to be. The players are mediocre, so I’m waiting until year 2 or 3 and biting my tongue for now.
Why exactly where the Beavs talking trash? They saw some things they could do versus this D, huh? Might want to take care of your own D before talking about the other team’s.
So fast. And they dropped way too many people back.
Biggest part of that drive, we gave the defense like a 6 minute break and put some strain on theirs. Imagine a tired defense trying to stop Nall, Storm, and Collins running.
That Nall play on third down was pretty terrible. Was just bad D that let him get away with it. He’s got to hit the hole harder, use his bigger build to his advantage.
I know you don’t like Collins, but how the heck is that his fault? It’s bad he locked on to Villamin for so long, but that was just a great play by the defense.
Lead him right into the defender? Last I checked, Villamin was in full control of his own legs, not Collins. I do agree Collins shouldn’t have stared him down though.
Bullshit. It was on time where it needed to be. It was just a great defensive play. Crossing routes over the middle are dangerous to receivers even when done to perfection, which that was.
Well, might get to see some backup QB playing time this game. Or we can just everything out of the wildcat the rest of the year, since there isn’t a Pac-12 caliber QB on the roster anyway.
This is after a bye week, it doesn’t even look like we have a game plan? Did we think we could just show up and win? Seriously? Let’s see how Andersen blames the players this time.
Botched extra point by cats negated by lining up on neutral zone. This is SO Riley I’m thinking some Freaky Friday voodoo happened between him and Andersen
“How fast things can change in a heartbeat.” Football commentary at its finest.
Also, fuck Collins. He’s hurt more than helped so far this game. He is the exact type of QB many of us have complained about for years. Fast, can’t throw or read anything. Makes stupid plays because he isn’t a real QB, he just an athlete.
Put the dude at WR, or Wildcat or something. But get someone who can throw in the game.
I’m turning it off. Arizona came to play, and we didn’t.
This loss isn’t on Collins, its on our lack of D.
Noted for posterity
(p.s. that noted for posterity shit is fucking annoying Angry. It really does nothing to further you point and only succeeds in making you sound like an asshole)
it’s going to take a few years to flush the Riley players and Riley habits out of our team. Arm tackling/hitting instead of tackling, bad blocking, penalties galore.
He was always going to get a chance. The way Collins plays, there was no way he would go all year without getting hurt. Rverything I’ve of McMaryion doesn’t give me much hope, but I would be glad to be wrong and see him successfully run the offense.
I don’t know what to expect since the guy has throw 8 passes ever, half under adverse conditions. He looks like a deer in headlights, but has made a few good throws. We’re about to find out.
I suppose we’ll get to see mcmariyon in the second half hopefully with some adjustments to take him into account. Not that they’re going to come back, but it’ll be interesting to see.
OSU desperately needs more talent, and 2-3 years of real coaching before we stop being a doormat. The next 20 months are going to be rough in the meantime.
Dockery is so bad. Are he and Bolden the two dumbest starters we have? Not only does he not call fair catch, he lets the ball roll 20 yards. And runs beside it, giving a change for a TO.
Yes, anyone but Doc on punts and kickoffs. The announcers were saying “well, that just cost the Beavers 15 yards…” after that pitiful decision. Try someone else please but not Guyton. How about Lucas???
Bolden is absolutely terrible. The Cookie Monster – aka LS – said she still believes in VB… I’ve never believed. If Baldwin and staff think he’s great then we’re really in trouble.
You have to send a request if you can’t get past the spam. I just approved someone not sure if it was you, but let me know. Registering an account would help you out.
Angry, I’m still getting caught by the spam bot. Not sure if that’s intended. the Captcha works now, so that’s good, but still a bit annoying to have to go through it every 3-4 posts.
Are you roaming on a phone or something? I think it’s because your IP keeps changing. That gets flagged as spam. Next time do it again, and I’ll see if I can approve it by email addy instead of ip. Also, register an account if you haven’t. That will help.
If Nall is as fast as they say he is at that weight then let him run off tackle. Running him straight up the gut on 2nd and third down just ain’t gonna happen.
Lastly, that screen in our end zone was McMariyon 2.0. That’s on the OC and QB coach.
I think Wazzou has a shot at this one against Oregon. They always play the Ducks tough, and with as vulnerable as Oregon’s secondary has been, the Air Raid should score enough.
I’d grade MM a C+ so far. Accurate throws, good spiral, etc. But he shot puts the ball a bit and it wound up in a few overthrows (one over the guys head, the other too much velocity). Looks like a deer in headlights, but he seemed to settle a bit. Stands around in the pocket too long/slow to go through progression, and will probably get sacked a lot if that doesn’t change. But considering he’s thrown a dozen balls he’s looked pretty decent.
What the hell are you even talking about scoring with our girls? Makes no sense, and even if it did, you aren’t doing that. You’re sitting in a seat stuffing your face with disgusting food while making shit up on the internet.
I don’t defend him. I just said he was a good leader so should get the start on a young team. Doesn’t mean he should get the bulk of carries. None of these RB are impressive.
Woods somehow ran for a 6.5 yard per carry last year. So I factored that in when I “supported him” (I’ve always said Brown should get many carries), too, along with the senior leadership. He is more tentative this year, and also the offense never gets into rhythm. There’s a lot of “let’s try Nall, let’s try Woods, let’s try Brown” and then with the QB and OL play there’s just no rhythm. I’m frustrated, too, but had this one penciled as a loss and had the Beavs at 2-3, so this isn’t very surprising. Just hoped we’d see progress in loses and there’s none. But that’s a tangent: the RBs are all tentative. Brown seems the most aggressive through the hole this year, but he’s out.
Our MLBs play way far back, and then don’t attack the box, they sit back and wait. That’s why they get juked out of their pants, and every run is an easy 5+ yards.
I don’t think game planning is baldwins strong suit. He seems like a fine man just doesn’t strike me as a Tactician of oc. We don’t seem to have a game plan that focuses on exploiting the other teams weakness from week to week. We kinda just try to do what we do and hope it works
Lol our coaches suck guys… Storm woods has 7 carries. Chris brown 0 against a team that has been absolutely gashed on the edge two weeks straight. We had two weeks to prepare and didn’t. Maybe we forgot we had a game today?
Just seems like they aren’t concerns enough with winning. They failed to have a game plan today.. Which is inexcusable.. They are buying too much into the respect the process mantra. No sense of urgency.
Andersen has to show more soon. Special teams has been bad,Baldwin hasn’t produced much at all for consistency on offense and the defense has had way for arm tackling here and there than expected. There is no reason to take kickoffs out of the endzone. At minimum it costs us 7-8 yards and when worse we are susceptible to a game changing turnover that can take us largely out of the game. GA had better put his thinking cap and find ways to get this team better in all phases or even beating Colorado at home may not happen. WSU will beat us unless this team and staff wakes up and starts acting like it wants to win.
We deserve our ranking in the Pac. We couldn’t beat Colorado or Wazzu with the effort shown today. We’re weak physically and mentally. Some hangover from MR but the coaches grade today is an F…
Won’t lie, I’m a little mad that all the pundits have ended up being right. The Beavers look like they will indeed be at the bottom of the conference if they keep playing like this.
Collins overthrows or throws behind everyone, and keeps the ball on almost every zone read. Weird how the rest of the team isn’t going to bust their asses to bail him out.
So, what’s that mean? They don’t believe in him and his leadership/decisions? Maybe Angry was right… Woods, GA and the rest of the team have publicly said he’s a good leader but I’m kinda in the Angry camp – or at least the old one. Or the WR’s just haven’t been coached up.
They should get MM some playing time here. Why not give the guy some real time? I don’t get this Collins stuff in a 44-7 blowout. He isn’t going to learn anything in these final minutes.
Exactly, just to protect Collins from injury (if GA really wants him to start) it would be wise, but also give MM experience in the event of injury. That was as bad coaching as Riley.
Getting back to our pathetic effort – do you guys think our players are that bad or was it a combo of coaching and ability/experience? I think a good portion of our players need to go find another team…
Valid but our teams have been historically weak mentally. The sideline had no energy – granted they were being rolled – but I’m not seeing the QB hustling and clapping to get guys going, etc. Lack of seasoning perhaps but that’s our MO, exception being the badass Fiesta Bowl team and the Poyer, Wheaton team in 2012.
I’m just going by what I saw, and they didn’t look into it from the start, and then they looked gassed really quickly. These early times are not good. The schedule is pretty brutal this year for a young team…
How could you not be into the game when their last one was a loss and you’ve had two weeks to prepare? May not win another game this year with this type of effort.
anyone who is calling for “coaches to show us more” might wanna take a look into that riley recruiting cabinet that he so generously left empty. Anyone who expected us to have a good season is honestly just stupid. It is beyond clear that collins is the best QB that we CAN USE AT THIS TIME. I wanted Marcus before the season after hearing about how smart of a player he was, but he is not the right fit. collins is a TRUE FRESHMAN. Give the kid a fucking break. I wonder how long it will take for idiots on here calling for Andersen’s head. SMH.
It’s how we’re for me. There no game planning and still terrible execution and then lots of spells of just flat out disinterested and uninspired play. Yes there’s something to be said for getting your guys but the coaches have been huge flops to this point.
We look terrible. Harbaugh took a 5-7 squad and has them playing and competing lights out. gA and crew have out guys looking worse than Biley ever did
Opie would have had Del Rio throw 50 times today and the score would’ve been about the same but yes, GA and staff did not do themselves any favors today.
I’d say D- ~ F grades for the entire team across the board. AZ has a lot of injuries to starters yet they could’ve scored 60-70 on us today. BTW, we are so weak – I didn’t see one stick tackle today. We really need to get in the weight room and get some God given talent. Huge variance between the two teams today.
I thought Collins was an F today. He ran in circles looking for a WR, and that shit hasn’t worked since Madden 2003. That is no way to run an offense. MM looked okay, but again, in such a small sample I have no clue what he can do. I do know Collins is a one step forward, two back QB. I’ve seen enough to make that call. I think he will beat up on bad teams (so probably two good games upcoming), and then struggle vs any team with a pulse.
He is going to get himself and WRs killed at this rate, too. He’s a great runner, but it’s not enough. All three good teams have shut that down.
No one has said fire the staff Dick but they just didn’t have the team ready today… Whether that’s mentally, physically, scheme-wise and so on today was a massive turd of an effort. We got rolled by a B- team today that could have scored 60 if they had wanted to. I honestly didn’t expect us to win – I figured we’d lose by 14-21 points but I want to see effort, intensity and some smash mouth tackling after two weeks of prep. Not the same old flailing and whiffs let alone the unimaginative play calling. Baldwin’s light at the end of the tunnel must have been a fantasy… BTW, Larry Scott and most of our DB’s and DL are obviously not FBS caliber. The Commish needs to sit.
Riley figured game was just about over after missed field goal and went uber conservative gaining less than 5 yards on 3 straight ahead runs. It didn’t surprise me but was poor coaching knowing Banker’s prevent D does little besides prevent winning. One first down to win it and Wisky was using their timeouts anyway so atleast one pass would have been justified. Instead Riley had his blinders on from last week’s choke and was scared not to give NU fans runs this time. Playing not to lose by his staff costs them again. Biley/Banker in fine form. Nebraska at 2-4 for first time since Teddy Roosevelt was thinking about building a canal.
Yeah, but I didn’t expect them to slide THIS badly. I know transitive property doesn’t apply, but if the Ducks lose this, I might have a bit of fun saying Portland St. is the best team in the state.
Yeah don’t go down that path and perpetuate the transitive property fallacy. I can’t stand that. You see it on every forum where idiots just don’t get it. Be smarter than that, Ran Yakumo!
I think I predicted a down year for them with some vague prediction of 4 or so loses, but I can’t find it. It might be worse. They might pull this game out vs WSU, but I still think they’re on the decline. Adams is bad. Lockie is pretty bad. Their D is very bad.
A little OT, but has anyone noticed the Portland State/North Texas score? Viks are ahead 66-0 in the 4th quarter. I am guessing that has to be the largest margin of defeat for FBS against a FCS opponent in history. Go Viks!
Again I think what we lack the most is Senior leadership, somebody to guide the team on how to prepare and how to play and how to be a good teammate.
Let’s take a closer look:
13 Seniors on the roster
Sr. Gavin Andrews out for the year
Sr. LaVontee Barnett DL in the rotation, but undersized, okay production
Sr. Kellen Clute TE no catches this year?
Sr. Jalen Grimble DL second year playing and has been banged up both seasons. Did he play?
Sr. Jashawa James LB in the rotation starter, under performing
Sr. Josh Mitchel C been a starter for almost all four years, he’s been productive at times
Sr. Naji Patrick DB walkon has played sparingly
Sr. Kyle Peko DL first year playing D1 (5 games)
Sr. Ali’i Robbins DL has seen limited action/production in all his seasons
Sr. Larry Scott DB two year starter mixed bag, gets burned part of the position, some production
Sr. Caleb Smith TE underperformed out for the season
Sr. Shane Wallen RB walkon who?
Sr. Storm Woods RB 4 yr starter has been inconsistent, some production
so of the 13 Seniors only 4 are playing regularly and all are limited in their production.
52 Freshmen and 4 Seniors. Of course they are going to look weak physically and mentally. They need to mature in both areas and they need experience.
Weber State
San Jose State
Colorado
Washington State
Four games marked as loses:
Oregon
Stanford
Arizona
UCLA
And four 50/50 games:
Cal
Washington
Michigan (although with Harbaugh now there this is likely a loss)
Utah
I thought if they won this game they’d be ahead of schedule, but I can’t worry yet, because to me they are on schedule. What is most disappointing is there is no growth game to game. I feel Collins is the reason, or the general lack of QB play, if not Collins himself. You can’t have this one step forward, two back offense. And you can’t have the QB running around in circles where every play is a broken plan and hope it works.
I think Sitake and his D is more problematic than the inexperienced, young QBs. You expect a true FR QB to struggle, the big busted plays on D, the poor tackling, are disturbing.
Andersen needs to intervene on D, thought that’s not his style.
I don’t expect a true freshman QB to struggle when running an offense he ran in HS and a fairly simple offense to run. If he were running Riley’s pro offense I’d expect struggle. This offense isn’t rocket science, so I am a bit tired of that excuse, as I alluded to in another thread.
Garrettson can’t become eligible soon enough.
I also said I wasn’t impressed with Sitake’s D (the stats, or his personality), and people jumped on me.
Well it looks like I made the right call on which game to DVR. Went through the game in record pace that rivaled some of Mike’s turds the last couple years. My thumb started cramping up going between
fast forward and play. Must have been the heat.
Seems like GA put the bye week to good use. Team was sharp. Guess Ass boy got the last laugh.
Speaking of laughs, I have not read through the thread, but Mike pulled another one out. He is on a roll! Bro was there and my phone has been silent. I’m guessing the sentiment on Angrybeavs was Mike once again fucked up by not really trying to get a first down which would have iced the game. He reacted to his fuck up last week and and ran the ball. That is the right answer, correct? No Mike, they changed the problem. I guessing he was not very good in math class. The amazing thing is none of his stooges will correct him.
Been on you in the past about Collins, Angry (still disagree on your preseason assessment of his arrogance being a locker room problem, though you have noted that he’s changed your mind.) but I will agree that Collins is showing little to no growth so far and it’s hindering the offense. They look like Michigan when Denard Robinson was “QB.” Looks like a wide receiver playing quarterback out there. With Garretson and Moran coming in next year it wouldn’t shock me to see Collins moved outside like a poor mans Braxton Miller unless the coaches see serious improvement.
I want to be clear: I am down on Collins as a PASSER, and always have been. I didn’t like his personality early on, but he grew on me as he grew up and gave better interviews. I can only go by what I see. I love him as a runner, and I see the leadership. I’m not blind and not biased. If he improves I’ll reassess. I’m not tied to MM or any other player. I hope this is clear. MM was a C+ at best. People seem to confuse me picking MM as the best option to start with me claiming MM would be good once he did start. I never said that.
Now that I have seen 5 games of Collins, I can see what he is. A guy who can pass and run vs D2 schools, but can’t do much vs legit D1 schools. He might do okay vs Pac-12 bottom feeders.
I don’t get fooled by athleticism. I grew up in NYC during the Darryl Strawberry/Doc Gooden era. I saw “potential” and all world athleticism that went nowhere. I know what it takes to be great, and it is not raw athleticism. If Collins ever has a Eureka moment and gains those skills, I will gladly point them out and agree he is great. I’m not tied to any player or paradigm, and I’m always ready to shift as players prove themselves. As of now, I view Collins as a liability vs teams with a pulse. This is how I viewed him all along.
I watched that HS game where he was awful, and I agree, based on that he is not a D1 QB. I’m not sure why GA can’t find a quarterback. Why the need to take on projects?
He’s not that slow/bad. His problem is he was overthrowing every WR and completely erratic. No poise. We need a guy who can make simple throws, then let WRs do work.
That Nebraska WR Westerkamp is one hell of a WR. I hope the Jets draft him. He could be a Welker type, only better. I can’t imagine being a great player and playing for Riley. That must be brutal.
True, just ask Cooks, Wheaton, and the Rodgers bros.
BTW, did everyone hear Ken Simonton on the radio, props to GA for involving alum athletes……blew off MR.
OT: Helfrich really sounds wussy on ducky post game
Texas ours Strong on their shoulders after 2 wins, upset of #10 Ok. Saved his job for maybe the seaon, but lame. Screw USC, what if Texas got Chi He likes recruiting Texas…
Go beavers! A win today very possible, but concerned about OSU secondary play.
“Puts”…”season”…
“Chip”….sorry.
You having a stroke?
Hope not…
J5 as o6do6flu f i6edk6dl6ddl7duu
Why are you spewing Riley press conference quotes?
Yeah I thought about that after we talked about CK the other day. Texas certainly has the money.
Third and short better run a route for the first down, classic Riley. Oh and then I’ll fall start on the pond.
Somehow my comment submitted before correcting my voice text. Ignore my previous.
You can delete them if you want angry so they’re not cluttering the game thread, apparently I’m not signed in on my phone so I can’t edit them.
Thumbs broken?
Apparently lol.
Go Beavs! It’s going to be a telling game for how the rest of the season is going to go, IMHO.
Just hope our defense is up to the task today!
Banker defenses: specializing in containing mobile quarterbacks since 2007!
Hahaha, my wife and I were just talking about that. It’s entertaining to see the EXACT problems we had here instantly appear in Nebraska.
D steps up, O starts to click Anus Oloman throws 2 picks, Beavs win 31-20.
I’ll drink to that, and to improved special teams play!
89 degrees, 121 degrees on the field.
Michigan up 14-0 on NW. They look like they’re for real.
Did he say Brady Quinn?
Tails never Fails, we deferred
That was offensive PI
Edit: maybe not.
Yeah that was garbage.
Getting No pass rush what’s so ever
A time otO Well done coaching staff!
This 3 man pass rush isn’t working.
That was…not inspired by the defense to start.
Beavs D looks worn out already. Zero pass rush and missed tackled, running backs dragging LBs into the end zone…not good.
Yeah they need to pressure anus instead of letting him settle in and get comfortable.
Lol his knee was down as fuck
Yeah, not even close. I wonder if the Arizona booth review is an Arizona alum like last time.
he was definitely down.
Already know they can pick on Larry Scott.
Not looking good so far :(
Looked to me he was extending the ball when that first knee went down. I think it was a td.
Time for the O to answer.
He was extending it but didn’t break the plane.. Meanwhile guyton gets punked by the kicker
Guyton had that ball flailing out there. Knew it was going to be a fumble before it happened.
G D it
…dangit Guyton.
Annnnd we lost, kicker just stripped us
Ah, so it’s going to be THAT type of game. :/
Guyton stripped by the kicker. gameover
He was a bad ass kicker.
Beavs get a break there probably to make up for the bad TD call
Wow, a call goes our way for once!
Not sure about that call but I’ll take it
Villamin hit his head pretty hard on the turf on that drop.
Beating yourself on the road is fucking unacceptable
Collins underthrows Villamin and it’s broken up, then throws a slant behind the WR so he can’t run for the 1st. Noted for posterity.
Villy should have had that first ball no excuse
Defender broke it up. Not a drop.
Should have gone for it there
Our 6’20 wideout must win the 50-50 jump balls in one on one situations.
Holding (not called) on the edge.
Another nice makeup call.
If there is anything I’ve learned watching Oregon the past few years, Pac-10/12 referees NEVER call holding out on the edge.
Excellent pressure and containment on annus
Our ball baby!!!
This game is a mess so far.
It’s going to be one of THOSE games, huh?
He looked down.
No way it’ll stand. He as completely down.
Wow. We are getting slashed up on running plays, but recover a fumble for a huge swing.
That’s vintage beaver D, 2nd 20? 18 yard gain on a run up the middle.
Angry, before I get spambot blocked again, is there a way to get past that plugin? The captcha just ends up being broken on any browser I try(Chrome and Edge).
You should be good now.
I try to post, it sends me to a spam plugin page that asks me to fill in a captcha. Except the picture for the captcha is broken so I can’t post again for like a day.
Hasn’t happened yet, trying to space out my posts a little bit more.
I fixed it.
Thanks!
Riley is about to shit the bed with the healthy colon of his.
Once defenses settles down more turnovers to come.
I actually kind of like “Vitamin V” as a nickname for Villamin.
Vitamin V? Really?!?
Medical term for Versed.
Collins throws a ball 2 yards over the receiver’s head on a short pass/bubble screen. Noted for posterity.
Then smartly throws it out of bounds, which Katz, Mannion et aL would not have done. He’s a true FR, enrolled early, correct?
Gotta make those throws — a HS QB can throw that pass.
Mannion would never have rolled out. And who is this “Katz” you speak of? Probably some super talented kid that got benched for no reason, if I had to guess…
We haven’t seen that since Moore ‘ s senior (?) year….
horrible blocking by Stanton
And a shit job picking up by hyphen.
Riley takes a poop.
Sitake takes a dump
I think he is better than Banker, but he’s not as great as people make him out to be. The players are mediocre, so I’m waiting until year 2 or 3 and biting my tongue for now.
That was complete bullshit
This sloppy so far.
Why exactly where the Beavs talking trash? They saw some things they could do versus this D, huh? Might want to take care of your own D before talking about the other team’s.
More vintage beaver d. Might have to drop the 3-4….
Does anyone on this team want to tackle
It’s hot out there. Would you want to tackle?
Good thing we are rocking the “swaggy” black helmets….
We apparently don’t have any run defense to speak of.
Sitake: Boom AND bust. Get used to it.
Held Arizona to a field goal there at least.
70 yard run right up the middle. Good thing we have 4 linebackers!
Looks like time for another down lineman.
What the f???
Solomon’s receiver really screwed him over there.
Knew it was going to be a rough year, but it still sucks to see this Bileyesque performance
We look like we have no energy. Where’s all the ga dancing and doing the Quan type shit.. Is that all for show ?
Special Teams is such a weakness, not getting better. bring back Read.
Special teams continue to be “special”.
Special Ed
What is going on?!?
Oh boy….
D is going to wear out by halftime since the O can’t do anything, and it’s 100 out there. This could get ugly.
At least Ryan Nall is looking good.
At this pace of 3 and outs out defense will be out of gas b4 end of 1st quarter.
Fail block on the edge. Why don’t you just hold, they don’t call it.
And why is Nall getting 3 straight carries? I like him, but he’s not very fast, and absolutely not as good as Storm.
Because it worked that one time .. So let’s do it again
Looks to me like we didn’t really come out with a game plan despite two weeks to prepare.
Nice tackle by Chappell Show.
4 man rush, shockingly the QB had an hour to throw. Finally found a wide open receiver.
We are getting blown off the ball almost every run play
Shiitake defense might as well be a bunch of mushrooms out there today
Offense is completely failing the defense this game, and the defense isn’t doing itself any favors, either.
But I can’t make a play on words with Baldwin and mushrooms
This is going to be a longer season than I thought.
Arizona might put up 50. The Beavs were talking trash about the Arizona D? Hilarious
I just hope Andersen uses it as a teaching moment so these guys keep their mouths shut in the future.
Going to be a long day…*sigh*
Lol @ Soesman
Didn’t even qualify as a flail.
Blitz sighting!!!
Maybe we should keep a running count.
Lol @ #13 — he really thought Solomon wouldn’t move?
If the offense can’t at least go on a long drive to get the defense some rest, then this game is over.
Offense needs a very long drive right now to rest the D. That’s (D wearing out) the biggest problem more than the score.
Back to back blitzes, and guess what? We stopped them!
Solomon dodged the blitz but doing that stupid spin move made him lose vision of all of his receivers. So it worked out.
They should just run with Collins every play. It’s the only thing they can do.
I still don’t like how Storm Woods runs to get tackled.
Collins overthrows Villamin, who had a step. Noted for Posterity, since there’s a reputation he throws a great deep ball.
Which one of you steam boats claimed Az would have problems scoring against your 2* and unranked players on D?
Let’s see how it plays out! What?
you got that right.
Fuck that deep ball was UGLY (for posterity)
PERFECT out route and throw. GJ
Collins throws it 4 yards over Bolden’s head. Noted for posterity.
Had a man underneath too…easy first down.
He doesn’t see the field.
Follows it up with an awful throw.
Collins gets picked. What was I saying about him getting away with bad throws?
Luckily a D penalty bails him out.
Greetings from BFE. Not looking good
“You don’t mind a little luck.”
It’s not luck to receive a facemask and hold. Idiot.
Paul Lucas has great speed.
Last time I checked “Speed Kills” Lucas also has great vision!! Lets Go Bevs
Paul Lucas sighting confirmed!
Classic Bolden, fucking everything up.
Dangit Bolden, that was a first down had you simply gone left, not right.
Yeah 37 steps to go around a guy that was being blocked that he could have turned up field and blazed by.
Nall running hesitantly, too. Looking to get tackled there, but luckily breaks it.
Wow, a pass to the TE! Is that the first TE reception this year?
Nall is a beast, great second effort there.
Still need more Storm.
our best player with the great run
There we go. Collins doing the one thing he is good at. Do more of that please
So fast. And they dropped way too many people back.
Biggest part of that drive, we gave the defense like a 6 minute break and put some strain on theirs. Imagine a tired defense trying to stop Nall, Storm, and Collins running.
Great, great run by Collins.
Even better, that drive was long. Defense needed that chance to catch their breath.
Impressive run. I like how decisive Collins is when he commits to the run.
That was exactly what they needed; D got some rest and they O got 7. Perfect.
Riley buys some baby wipes and leads 14-7 at the half.
Baby wipes are the best.
That Nall play on third down was pretty terrible. Was just bad D that let him get away with it. He’s got to hit the hole harder, use his bigger build to his advantage.
Weird thing is he ran hard last time. Now he’s sitting in the hole waiting for contact.
Thinking too much. He just needs to run downhill.
Are you fucking kidding me?
3rd time that has happened… What is the malfunction?
Straight up bullshit
Larry Scott’s man I assume?
Some great D there. What was that, 2 plays 20 seconds? lol
Gave it all right back. Sigh….
Welp, at least the defense gets to rest more now.
Our effort on d is absolutely terrible … Gutless
Jack likes this D.
I’d like to hear why. They looked decent vs the two bad teams and awful vs everyone else.
Where is our “stud” LB Mageo, too?
Thank goodness we have Wallace and Thompson coming in next season.
Can’t control the edge and give up the TD off-tackle. And what the hell happened on the wide open 70 yard pass? Come on…
I’m here and there’s no way I see you guys coming back in this game based on what I’ve seen
There is no way. Enjoy your day.
I don’t see improvement in the defense. It’s getting worse. How in the fuck does a guy get open by almost 30 yards?
40 yard cushion?
Great job, Nolan-Lewis. And by great, I mean terrible.
Collins lays Villamin out to dry.
Noted for posterity.
Yeah, that one is entirely on the QB. Good way to lose the trust of your receivers.
I know you don’t like Collins, but how the heck is that his fault? It’s bad he locked on to Villamin for so long, but that was just a great play by the defense.
Stared him down and lead him right into the defender.
I like Collins as a runner and his confidence, btw.
He threw into 3 defenders, including one running straight at his receiver. That is 100% Collins.
Lead him right into the defender? Last I checked, Villamin was in full control of his own legs, not Collins. I do agree Collins shouldn’t have stared him down though.
Receiver has to have eyes 100% on the ball and trust his QB not to lead him into…..well, getting blasted like that, lol
Pretty sickening play
Bullshit. It was on time where it needed to be. It was just a great defensive play. Crossing routes over the middle are dangerous to receivers even when done to perfection, which that was.
Collins fucked Villamin over bad there. Throwing into 3 defenders and getting your receiver hurt.
Combined with his awful “Reading” on the zone read runs….still not a fan.
#PrayForVillamin
#VillaminsLifeMatters
This is s terrible terrible football team.
Yikes we had a bye!!???
Put Collins on defense, he can tackle.
Who does stupid shit like that? Not a d1 qb
Collins intercepted (again). This one he doesn’t get away with. What was I saying about those sloppy throws catching up with him?
Can’t keep throwing bad balls and get away with it. Dude had nine lives.
Untouched. Great goal one stand.
Okay Angry, you better note THAT Collins throw for posterity lol.
And Collins has a worse INT than 3M now
Bye bye wheels
Well, might get to see some backup QB playing time this game. Or we can just everything out of the wildcat the rest of the year, since there isn’t a Pac-12 caliber QB on the roster anyway.
That’s basically what Collins is, slightly better than a D1 wildcat QB.
Hahaaasaaaaa we fuck up even when they help us out
This is after a bye week, it doesn’t even look like we have a game plan? Did we think we could just show up and win? Seriously? Let’s see how Andersen blames the players this time.
That’s my issue.. No game plan on Offense or D.. Pathetic coaching job by all involved.. They get an absolute f for this performance.
Wow we even just gifted them another try at the EP. So many miscues…
We chased the QBs that could manage a passing game out of town.
Two flags picked up for Az
Bullshit this game is on this staff.. Two weeks to prepare and we look as bad as we have all season against a mediocre / pretty good opponent
3.
Lucky break. He’s staring down his recievers.
It appears they have quit. Unfortunate. Collins “hurt”
Collin’s spiral is hilarious. It looks like an oblong turd flushing down the toilet.
Looks like we are going to see what MM can finally do.
no wonder you can’t get a press pass.
Don’t want one.
Wanted free tickets.
Looks like you get you wish, he’s hurt. Happy?
That was my wish? Show me where I wished that.
Meant you get your wish for 3m
Collins starting to run hesitant like Woods.
DUDE KICKED HIS LEG OUT, THATS A GODDAMN FOUL.
I hope someone notes every McMaryion mistake for Angry. Posterity, you know
Well, I never said MM was great. I note them for posterity so I can go back and gather all the notes when people tell me Collins is a legit QB.
I don’t know if MM is legit yet b/c he never plays.
Guyton needs to catch that. Jeez.
Nice throw by McMaryion, but too bad Guyton couldn’t pull it in.
Why did we throw to Guyton?
And second question, who the fuck is Guyton?
Guyton should be really good. Slap yourself for that..
Third flag picked up for AZ
Guyton has all the skills, but not sure what is up with him…fumble and a drop.
“Should be really good.”
We have Villamin, Jarmon, and Storm. So on third down we throw to nobody?
What in the actual Fuck is with them picking up flags?
It’s too warm out for the refs. They’re just like “Meh, whatever.”
He is part of the Best Wide Receiving Corp in the pac12
WTF IS GOING ON WITH THESE REFS?
“There is no foul” should be on their fucking shirts.
This is some of the most wtf inept reffing I’ve seen in a while
Was he in the area, or “In the area”?
These refs are just taking the damn day off.
What may be the scariest thing of all is Baldwin saying the offense we coming together.. What the fuck was he smoking?
Diet Coke.
Snorting Diet Coke.
Coke
Is he really a coke head?
The “Sprint backwards” defense didn’t get the stop. Shocking.
What an embarrassing showing. This after a bye.
Last week: bye
This week: bye bye season
This is putrid. Can’t wait to see The Drive and the 10 seconds of locker room footage
Aww man so disappointing.
Rich Rod looks so bored haha
Well I guess the week off hurt more than helped.
Think the team has given up at this point.
I know I have, and I’m not wearing pads in 100 degree heat
Screen pass that hit the receiver right in the numbers. Crazy.
Just list satellite signal. What a blessing.
Same here. Thank God.
Guyton!
I always said that guy could play!
MM is very slow with his reads.
Bad blocking.
Does it look like MM is locking onto receivers? I mean, I’m not surprised that a spread read offense can’t find the 3rd WR, but still bad blocking.
n/a
Guess the boys just gonna quit today, what a pathetic effort from the O line
There’s still plenty of time to make a game of this.. Not saying we will of course but there is plenty of time.
Solomon is not very good. Arizona is lucky we suck.
Everybody knows that “Speed Kills” Have you seen the Utube video on Lucas. Football & Track speed. Video and stats don’t lie.
Much faster in getting the ball out there for McMaryion.
Angry, can you approve me to post?
You have to send a request if you can’t get past the spam. I just approved someone not sure if it was you, but let me know. Registering an account would help you out.
Nope, not me. I registered a long time ago but haven’t posted in some time. Looks like it’s working now. Thanks.
It’s nice to see GA taking timeouts rather than milk the clock, at least.
Never mind and or thanks.
I hate Bolden even though he just caught a pass. Just run straight!
Give it to Storm, easy first.
That whole “We play Nall because he picks up 3” is incredibly stupid logic. Give me the guy that can go for 40.
Your guy would be Lucas kid (100 meter 10.4) do the math……
Great job my MM on the last 2 plays, working through his progressions and finding the open receiver.
Imagine if MM had played the last 3 games. How far along would he be?
At least Andersen hasn’t given up.
Unfortunately he’s the only one
This game is karma for all of your childish anus jokes : p
Your anus is childish.
Talking about childish anuses gets you put on a list.
Ahhh Nooose.
Jesus…we suck
I like what I am seeing with MM. Taking what he is given, accurate throws.
Nicer looking ball and touch than Collins but I think we knew that. I hope he can run a little.
Nope, on my home PC.
Let’s be honest, Riley would’ve just taken two knees and walked into the locker room. I’ll take Andersen over him for that reason alone.
Time to go watch braska bring this home!
What a pathetic effort post bye week.
2nd quarter was a nightmare. Big play, pick to short td, brutalized down the field. I need to see some heart in the 2nd half.
Arizona can’t score huh? While you guys are here, I’m scoring with your girls hahaha
I’d be shocked if you’ve scored with anything, much less a girl, ever.
Our girls probably feel neglected with how much time you’ve been spending trolling us on this site instead.
nice one
What the hell are you even talking about scoring with our girls? Makes no sense, and even if it did, you aren’t doing that. You’re sitting in a seat stuffing your face with disgusting food while making shit up on the internet.
And wearing his Duck gear
you couldn’t score in a Nevada brothel with a grand in your pocket
We need a RB who attacks. These guys all run passively. It’s so annoying. Nall did it last week, but this week he’s back to passive.
Give the Avocado Kid a shot! Can’t be more tentative and, really, nothing to lose.
I don’t get that you want a RB who attacks, but defend Storm Woods, who runs hesitantly.
He used to. He does not anymore.
I don’t defend him. I just said he was a good leader so should get the start on a young team. Doesn’t mean he should get the bulk of carries. None of these RB are impressive.
Fair enough. I just feel so frustrated that we haven’t had a standout running back since Quizz.
Thank goodness we have a “stud” LB like Mageo or it might have been 70-7 at the half.
Oh boy SC back in to get himself killed more
We better see some trick plays, etc. If they do the same shit this half we’ll lose by 40 +.
Nice to see a slant.
Collins almost picked again. Infinite time but wants to run again.
Get MM back in.
Storm gains 6. Because he’s good.
With MM out, there’s no real reason to watch this game.
Time to see if Riley’s colon acts up again.
Don’t you want to rack up some more “I told you so’s”
I am, on the Nebraska sites. Lolol
Collins hits the slant for like 5. Then botches the slant. Now we punt.
Was that a Mageo sighting making a tackle 15 yards downfield again? Sweet! Like Ray Lewis — that’s how he piled up stats.
Our MLBs play way far back, and then don’t attack the box, they sit back and wait. That’s why they get juked out of their pants, and every run is an easy 5+ yards.
Sitake = Cavanaugh, and Anderson needs to intervene, overrule.
Rommel Ma-GWHY-O?!
17-14, Wisconsin
Boy did that stadium get quiet.
Wisconsin takes lead over the Rileys
My question is, is our poor play calling due to the scheme being bad, or having to adapt it to bad players?
my guess is the latter. I don’t see any real playmakers on defense. and the ones that could be are being negated due to everyone else being awful.
Oh surprise surprise, Storm runs for 20.
It’s like Baldwin is actively ignoring our best player until it’s too late. WTF is wrong with him?
I don’t think game planning is baldwins strong suit. He seems like a fine man just doesn’t strike me as a Tactician of oc. We don’t seem to have a game plan that focuses on exploiting the other teams weakness from week to week. We kinda just try to do what we do and hope it works
Woods looks like he runs a 4.9 forty… Has he ever broken one? ASU last year?
I think he broke a screen pass for a big gain. Not sure about a rush.
Somehow he has a 6+ ypc. He is a weird player. Just doesn’t seem to get the big conversions or ever get into rhythm.
He has good speed, he’s just been playing slower to find holes to hit. That’s why he has such a good YPC.
Bad throw by Vanderveen. Hill was open.
That backfield alignment on the fake punt was a real giveaway to the intentions of the Beavs.
Lol our coaches suck guys… Storm woods has 7 carries. Chris brown 0 against a team that has been absolutely gashed on the edge two weeks straight. We had two weeks to prepare and didn’t. Maybe we forgot we had a game today?
Gotta run around with Collins and toss bad balls.
Seriously, he is a one step forward, two back QB. It’s hard to ever get anything going consistently with that.
Not their finest moment. Still taking it over yet another year of Riley and Crew
Just seems like they aren’t concerns enough with winning. They failed to have a game plan today.. Which is inexcusable.. They are buying too much into the respect the process mantra. No sense of urgency.
Brown might be hurt. it’s a safe assumption considering he almost always is.
Storm having 8 carries is unacceptable. Best player on the team by a lot, and 8 touches?
Fuck Collins. Pretend you can teach the kid to be a QB, it’s not like he’s been playing football since he was 10.
Strong whiffs on the open field tackle. And just huge holes again. Our line getting destroyed.
We deserve our ranking in the Pac. We couldn’t beat Colorado or Wazzu with the effort shown today. We’re weak physically and mentally. Some hangover from MR but the coaches grade today is an F…
They’ll beat Colorado and Wazzu.
No chance..
The Pac12 better get their lumps in now, and believe me we are counting each one! With 52 freshmen out of 85 scholly’s this team will only get better.
Won’t lie, I’m a little mad that all the pundits have ended up being right. The Beavers look like they will indeed be at the bottom of the conference if they keep playing like this.
Villamin wide the fuck open, but Collins throws to Boldin. 10 yards too far.
Our WR’s seem to give up on plays. They aren’t helping Collins a lot. Same thing happened against Stanford.
The effort shown against the Tree would have made today much more palatable…
Collins overthrows or throws behind everyone, and keeps the ball on almost every zone read. Weird how the rest of the team isn’t going to bust their asses to bail him out.
So, what’s that mean? They don’t believe in him and his leadership/decisions? Maybe Angry was right… Woods, GA and the rest of the team have publicly said he’s a good leader but I’m kinda in the Angry camp – or at least the old one. Or the WR’s just haven’t been coached up.
I feel bad for the WRs. Qbs just can’t make the reads
Has anyone told Collins that running in circles or backwards doesn’t even work in Madden football anymore?
This Nebraska game is good
Gotta chalk up this defensive performance to the retirement of inspector clouseau.
Nebraska going to choke it away again lol
Could Michigan be the best team in the Big Ten? That defense is downright scary.
Harbaugh is so good at the college level where he can boss people around. That doesn’t work in the NFL. That Peppers guy is so good, too.
They should get MM some playing time here. Why not give the guy some real time? I don’t get this Collins stuff in a 44-7 blowout. He isn’t going to learn anything in these final minutes.
Nebby player “if not for the final 30 seconds of our 3 losses we’d be 5-0”
A football game is 60 minutes, not 59 minutes and 30 seconds. And if my aunt had balls, she’d be my uncle
make it the last 30 seconds of all 4 losses now
She would be Bruce Jenner.
Caitlyn
Was Chuckie’s first year at USU similar to what Collins is showing?
Riley gets the win on a missed FG
That’s too bad… I was looking forward to a total meltdown in Lincoln.
Not over. Nebby goes 3 and out, Wisky gets the ball back with judicious use of timeouts with just over a minute left. The fail is strong here
Holy crap, Riley takes another massive dump
This Nebraska game is too much.
Poor Riley.
Wisky wins it on a FG at the end 23-21. The fail is just too predictable. Banker strikes again lol
Lol… #anotherrileyloss
Oh man…those poor Huskers!
Can never get a first down when they need it. Never get a stop when they need it.
#ThankYouNebraska
Wow…how did karma get such bad karma?!?! ;)
ummm…. nice handle..
*Riley
*RiLLLLey
I don’t think we ever saw Riley lose a game like that. That’s uncharted water even for him.
Meltdown time in Huskerland!!!
All of us unfortunately have seen that look before….

4:27.
If GA puts Collins back out there he’s as bad as Riley with not getting backups playing time. I mean come on…
I agree, that’s asinine. Tell Collins, I’m not benching you but MM is taking the second half so he gets some game speed reps.
Weather and time. These guys were not into this game.
BTW, coaching grade F.
I think a good portion of our players need to go find another team at the FCS level
FTFY. And I agree. not enough talent across the board
anyone who is calling for “coaches to show us more” might wanna take a look into that riley recruiting cabinet that he so generously left empty.
Garretson to the rescue in 16.
I think so.
AZ defense was awful thus far this year so it was disappointing they only got 7 points in this game.
The offense looked good in practice because the defense has reverted. Or was never as good as it looked early.
Don’t look now, but Washington St is only down 3 to Oregon.
Oregon isn’t very good anymore.
They rode Chip and MM, and now that’s over.
We will have to take some lumps this season.
Hard to lead when you, inexplicably, aren’t starting. Or getting 75% of touches.
So far I’m 5 for 5 on the games.
http://angrybeavs.com/football/11359
I have four games marked as wins:
Weber State
San Jose State
This game was tough, not just because of the beat down, but they regressed in nearly every area, except maybe the punt game.
Thanks Bend. Boilers were just the right remedy for the worst offense in Div1.
Man, what a shit show. These 0-2 Saturdays suck donkey.
Yup. You had a rough day. Ducks just lost, so there is that.
This is how I viewed him all along.
what a crock
Don’t be fooled, Moran isn’t a D1 QB. That is a wasted scholarship. Hopefully Garretson turns out to be at least serviceable.
I watched that HS game where he was awful, and I agree, based on that he is not a D1 QB. I’m not sure why GA can’t find a quarterback. Why the need to take on projects?
Agree on Moran. Looks like SC part two.
Only thing worse would be a receiver playing for Andersen
True, just ask Cooks, Wheaton, and the Rodgers bros.
BTW, did everyone hear Ken Simonton on the radio, props to GA for involving alum athletes……blew off MR.
OT: Helfrich really sounds wussy on ducky post game
