PAC12 conference season starts for Shep and his crew. Per the HC, don’t talk about altitude at Fort Collins!
Will angry relent and pedal on over or get set up with that USA Network outfit?
Spread favors Beavs by 7 this morning, they have covered all season long, so far.
Go Beavs!
Per the O:
“Hauss Hejny is out for CSU, so it’ll be K’saan Farrar”
Glasper listed as probable to today’s game.
Not sure if that’s a poitive or negative though.
I guess when you’re down to 3 dbs probably a positive
Let’s talk about the elevation at the Salton Sea instead…LOL!
7 point spread…that is a good number by the oddsmakers. 50/50 is how I see that number. Win by 6 and I’ll be happy.
Anyone got a tip on how to stream USA network?

Thanks, though I lack a cable subscription. Might have to sail the seas…
Pass along what you discover, please.

Excellent, THANKS!
Or this one if the other goes down – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv621FPTuKg
Timed that scary well, haha. First one just went down.
Jesse Legree says fuck you. Excellent start
Wow, this team just looks completely different as the offense is ELECTRIC!
HUUUGE STOP ON 4TH DOWN!
I feel like this forum peaked in activity around the 2017/2018 baseball seasons, it’s been real quiet during games!
Just got home.. Mora looks pissed
Jim Mora cool, calm, collected as usual.
Atkinson is so freaking smart with his decisions, and the play calling has been amazing.
Take the turnover on downs into a long TD drive. Don’t make mistakes and the CSU offense stays off the field.
I like it. Smart coaching
Exactly the type of drive the Beavs needed. Long time consuming and pretty demoralizing to the CSU defense.
Guess I spoke too soon. Defense is leaking like crazy. Will need the offense to keep scoring to win the game
RB just remoralized the Rams. By himself.
The offense gives. And the defense gives right back
Gonna be a war of attrition. At least the Beavs have the lead after 15 minutes
Rams are now completely moralized.
Rough 2 minutes of beaver football
Mora needs to calm down. Dude looks like he could have an aneurism at any moment
Has she always looked like that? Chris, that can’t be healthy
Is anyone here in town?
Bro, weak shit, why aren’t you there?
Haha. A running QB gets the Beavs again.
Lol seriously you’re literally mia and this is your weak ass comment like the first in months?
Layne is a fucking stud. He’s taking this shit personally
Butler with the jets…td
Track meet is on…
What the hell. We now have ads about shaving pubes?
Welcome to 2018.
You been locked in a closet? They’ll advertise anything from objects to shove up your ass to gas station boner pills
When have the Beavs had a play caller who is likely to be poached after only one season!
Langsdork? Hahahaha
Now it’s a game of possessions. Both teams might be able to get one or two more stops on defense. Beavs will need to get a stop and score again before the end of the half as CSU gets the ball in the 3rd. Can’t let them double dip at the end of the half.
Last team to score wins
Commercial break. Hopefully this one has an ad for a razor that shaves ass hair. Asking for a friend.
You missin’ some sun seeking coeds in the stands. Get on that bike, you can get there!
Watching a Portland Timbers soccer match the other day. Their new jersey ad sponsor is “Dude Wipes” and the placement of the logo is down toward the lower back.
Surprised there is enough money in the dude wiping business to even sponsor a sports team. They’re just rebranded baby wipes, aren’t they?
But they smell like desperaion
Thicker for the bigger poops
and the advertisers all know you are commenting on the ads and applauding their success.
Beavs score LFG
Holding them before half would be big.
Is hickle hurt.
Gotta stop em here. Install doubt in their fans and players
They got a stop, now need to run the time off the clock.
Scoring again would be better
Thats some Riley shit. March down and score again.
2 minute drill with 3 timeouts.
I like our chances.
Yup, no time to be conservative.
Nailed it!
Very surprised CSU did not go for it there. Beavs defense isn’t putting a lot of pressure on the QB. And the CSU defense has made one play the entire half.
Agree
Atkinson is 15 for 15
Jinxed him!
Although that wasn’t on him either way.
He’s on fire!
Jesse Fucking Legree
Fucking A. Legree is pretty amazing
How many guys can spin and maintain their stride. That’s nuts
34-14 was my game prediction. Still 2 quarters to go.
Over/Under was around 62……only 13 to go in the 2nd half…..someone here had the obvious call, “bet the over”.
RU kidding me. Legree is just a freak! Throw the bank at him and Atkinson!
TD! 35-14!
Can you spell DOWNFIELD BLOCKING
Not bad for a glorified high school football team!
Awe, you still butt hurt over the dux getting taken behind the woodshed by Okie State and a bunch of North Texas transfers?
Tf are you talking about
Ohhh you must be new here
Layne again!
Looked on YouTube like Crandall had a pick on one of the final Ram passes. Anyone else see it that way?
It hit the ground
Second half adjustments
Keep scoring! The lead is not safe yet
Keep running the ball as CSU is bailing out on coverage. They are playing afraid on defense. And keep throwing when needed for balance.
Keep the offense on the field to keep the defense from being exposed.
Defense needs to make a few stops as the game momentum can still switch quickly. Good thing the CSU QB is not a runner except at the goal line, otherwise the Beavs D would be in even more trouble.
Always kick the ball through the endzone, kick coverage has been less than stellar.
Those screen passes/check downs are working!
Atkinson is so smooth in the pocket. Save for one mistake.
Got caught at 14. Then 21-0.
I am really starting to like this coaching staff and team.
With a halfway competent defense? CFP
I did forget to add that. CSU playing scared leaves the check downs open on every play
Amazing display of offensive execution and playcalling. D did enough for us to have a 3 possession lead at the half. Color me orange and black happy!
This team is just fun.
Sounds like backyard football….
Let Legree earn 100 yards+ again then sit him?
I’ve been fishing with my kid, doing some outdoor activity…
Fun to check in and see the score and the tone on this site!
I really think this team can be 7-2 going into BSU…
Butler reverses field nicely.
Notice a difference between Smith and Shephard on 4th down. Neither afraid of them, but one is using much better situations and play calling.
I think having a QB like Atkinson makes any playcaller look good.
Stadium look sold out today? About 40K in attendance?
Ball was over the pylon. Seems pretty clear
Yeah not sure what that was about, ref was literally 2 feet away
Is it bad that I want CSU to score again so we keep our starting offense in?
If we bring in Murphy I don’t think i can watch the rest.
Like drinking a fine glass of wine and following it up with Boones.
Yes. Keep them out, let the other QBs get reps…don’t watch! : )
I also want our top guys to lead the nation in multiple stat categories. Makesnitbeasy to sell the program to recruits and future transfers.
Murphy looked good a few games ago when he got in.. Remember this is a completely different offense that executes high % routes with great receivers that can really make a QB look good or great in Atkinson’s case.
After the last couple years, there is no such thing as a walk away blowout for this guy. Sorry Mrs. Sweaty, we can go to Hooby Lobby after the game.
The biggest surprise from this game is that the Pac 12 has a command center!
Did they say 75% of craft brew in colorado is made in ft collins? I do have to get there for a game I guess
That’s no flag what bull shit
He caught the ball, turned and made a move before landing on his back. How is this questionable?
He handed on his back, ball is secure. End of play. He rolls over and then the ball comes out. It doesn’t matter the play was already over
Fuck these refs
Are these refs old pac refs cuz fuck them again
Refs are making it unwatchable even without Murohy in the game
The Beavs might break the top 25 after this butt kicking.
Need Texas Tech and Houston to keep winning.
Houston did today, Tech is down early to Colorado(yikes!)
I’d sure like the Beavs to play them both again as I think the Beavs could win one of them if not both.
I think in the past if we had a 1st and 25 situation I would have just counted it as a drive that is dead, but we have a goofy amount of weapons. And it’s great to see Hatcher getting more involved. I know CSU might be a little weak against the run, but I like that we’re developing a dynamic running attack with this game. Hell yeah.
Again I say Jesse fucking Legree
What?!? 31.4 PC, 3 TDs…and?!?
Beast!
It’s amazing how easy everything has looked when the entire staff is competent, and the athletes are well coached and competent.
Having a receiver that can turn a 4 yard pass into a 50 yard touchdown helps.
That being said … get Atkinson out of the game!
Let Murphy or Jones hand the ball off 15 more times.
Fucking mora trying to sell Legree on nil and ft collins
Dominant win, I was concerned about defensive back depth but holy cow
Atkinson with an unreal stat line
31/34 for 428 and 5 TDs
We gotta throw the kitchen sink at Atkinson and Legree to get them to stay. It’s going to be extremely difficult to get them both to stay on the team after this season.
On O we looked like a 7v7 scrimmage blowout in a video game.
On D we got gashed by an okay but not great running attack.
Next week if we see the Run D get improved, we will be golden. At least Marshall Faulk is not playing for SDSU…LOL!
To me the highlight was the 2 minute offense to end the half with a TD to take a solid lead into the locker room. That was pro-grade stuff.
Im not sure I’ve ever seen a beaver stat line like that.
Good win. Offense keeps rolling and making adjustments to keep moving the ball. Taking what the defense gives. CSU couldn’t make any adjustments to stop the Beavs.
Unsung hero – Oline. Keeping Atkinson clean all but a couple plays. Didn’t take any hard shots.
Defense is a concern. Too many big plays given up and looked really bad at times. Can’t play like that and expect the offense to bail them out. There’s going to be a game where the defense is going to be needed to stay in the game. Boise St being the prime example. No sacks today and I don’t really remember any third and long situations caused by the defense.
Penalties still an issue. Better but still needs to come down.
Other than the early stop near the goal line I agree, not the D needed to take the PAC. Some weak tackling late especially a bad look.
Still, way too soon to give up on MacIntyre.
It’s more of a talent issue than a coaching issue. Especially on the dline
Yes, generally in the right position
DC at CSU just got fired. Beavs on a roll!
Apparently fired mid game. Relieved of play calling and he decided to leave the field.
Dahlen: Coach killer.
Drew Rasmussen dominant tonight too. 8 innings, 1 hit, no runs, 10Ks and the win vs the Yankees.
Just came here to post that but ya beat me to it.
Good day to be a Beav unless you play in Cleveland
I thought he only pitched 5 innings at least that’s what I was told as I didn’t watch it.
Watching the beav offense today was like watching a video game.
Legree “a nice days work”
https://x.com/HeismanTrophy/status/2106570645077422388
Maybe at Reser they can play a few bars of “Probkem Child” for him…
It’s the little things.
As mentioned earlier, ya gotta appreciate the downfield blocking by receivers, one of the things I had to admit was taught at nike more than previous Beav staffs.
High altitude must have got to Atkinson, put too much under it at times, only 31/34…Geezus Christ, that must be some kinda record fo more than 30 attempts?
Cool thing is Dahlen will be on him about the misses…ha! He was after the last win! He says they both want higher completion percentage.
Looking at some of the Big10 teams this year. I legitimately think OSU would be in the top 3rd of that conference right now.
Especially if we had a few more healthy bodies in the secondary.
Ohio State and Indiana are both better. UCLA and Oregon would still be just purely based on their talent depth.
But after those 3 teams who else can you say would even compete?
UW/USC both are garbage this year.
Minnesota maybe?
Wisconsin and Nebraska haven’t been impressive.
Orange colored glasses, I know.
Drinking the good stuff tonight?
busted out the whiskey soaked napkins
Atkinson and Legree both got robbed on that review for an additional 40 yards. Obvious catch and I’m not sure how they could reverse it based on the replays.
Nonetheless, the Beavs offense will score a lot of points on everyone in the PAC12 as long as Atkinson stays healthy. I think he is a lot like Brock Purdy in this offense and it is a great fit.
All of the receivers/tight ends and running backs are making catches and yards after catch. We haven’t seen anything like yac yardage in a long time.
Bolden and Gould had speed but never seemed open enough or able to get past the first defender. This is a breath of fresh air all around.
I like the linebackers and the dline is growing on me. Secondary is thin but held its own today.
I’d say a few of CSU big plays were due to some holding calls not being called but otherwise it was a solid defensive game and an electric offensive showing.
Ted Robinson and Jim Wilson were effusive on their broadcasts. Mike Parker was essentially in shock at how good the offense looks as he said during the postgame show.
I’m here for it all. Next 2 home
Games should be afternoon sellouts-no excuses for the sportsman’s crowd to stay home from this team. Fill Reser and go for 5-2 over the next 2 weeks. Beavs will start garner some national attention soon. I’m hoping Shep is preparing to invite Jensen Huang to a home game for the experience and maybe he likes what he sees….hint hint.
Great day to be a Beaver!
I’m hoping he can get Huang on board bc if he do the virtual impossible, OSU could become the next Indiana Cinderella sweetheart of CFB.
Jensen is busy pimping Super Intelligence with the president, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and their ilk. Don’t see him taking the time to swing by Reser any time soon. But for goodness sake Jensen, you wouldn’t even miss the type of money it would take to fund this program. Hook a brother up!
It’s annoying given his ungodly wealth, but if he doesn’t care about football, he doesn’t care.
He’d rather have dinner with communist dictators and autistic tech billionaires #sad
Crazy ending to SDS-TXST.
Pac 12 After Dark is back on the Menu!
Beavs had one negative yardage play today. That was on the strip sack. That’s it. I can see why the d coordinator was fired mid game.
School record 727 yards of offense
Where did you see 727? Looks like it was 525.
Maybe that included ST and I misinterpreted it.
Also says the beavs rushed for 291 yards. Idk about that either
https://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/2026/10/727-yards-8-touchdowns-a-transformative-win-for-oregon-state-against-colorado-state.html
I think the Oregonian started misreporting the yardage. I see 651 total yards on the CBS College Sports site, which I’ve found accurate over the years.
Were you looking at the ESPN site? It was incorrect yesterday.
Yeah it looks like ESPN updated yardage. Says 650 total yards now.
Watching CSUs effort on that first Legree TD was very telling. I thought Legree stepped out of bounds because the defensive players seemed to let up.
5-0 ATS…I wonder if any other FBS team has done this so far?
Beavs, New Mexico, James Madison and Georgia State are all 5-0 ATS. Several other teams are 4-0 ATS including Utah, BYU, UCLA and Northwestern.
Thank you Buck for the list of those teams! New Mexico is certainly a surprise along with us to make that list. Lobo football is usually downtrodden.
Eck has done good work there
Didn’t realize BSU’s RB leads the nation in rushing yards at 685, 137 YPG, 5 tds.
Atkinson leading the nation in passing yards…
Legree at 741 yards is second to Ohio State’s Smith (823) on 16 fewer receptions, they both have 9 TDs.
So crazy to see Beavers leading in national statistics, particularly after facing rich HOU and TT defenses early.
OSU @ BSU should be entertaining, and maybe get a decent time slot and national exposure? Wish the PAC had required BSU to get a green field as somone in here suggested….
Funny, Legree would have equal yardage except for that botched review on his 50 yarder.
Yet every pundit is saying the Heismann is Jeremiah Smith’s to lose. Very similar body of work on fewer targets for Legree. Similar competition levels too.
Agreed. I was thinking the same thing….
Should he continue this type of production the rest of the year and even lead the nation in YDs and TDs, the realist in me says he won’t get a fair shake for Bilitnacoff or first team all American. A lot of pundits will say it not apples to apples. Doing it every week against P4 vs G6. Not saying it’s fair, just what will be said of Legree continues this type of production.
Exactly, and that’s gonna be the pitch as the blue bloods come calling (along with a bag).
Confessing here, kinda miss the old hand jive.
Legree will probably blow up with 300+ yards at some point, hell, with the right field position and a few house calls, he could do it by the third quarter…
Shep says he likes to get everyone involved, spreads around touches. I think he does and that that is a good thing for several reasons, team morale among them.
Vs CSU, we saw 4 receivers with five or more catches along with 5 others with less. We saw Newberry and Hatcher with 15 and 7 rushes; then 4 others with between one and three.
Makes it all the more worth asking: “why keep Atkinson in this particular game all the way”?
In the off-season, there was a lot of concern about Freauff returning to strengthen the receiving corps and Trent Walker exiting. Freauff hasn’t caught a pass this year. I still think most teams can use a big-bodied wide receiver, but man, we didn’t have a clue about what Sheppard was putting together.
Freauff has been injured, correct? Hope he shows up at some point, perhaps he surprises a team or two, creates a tough red zone match up?
He’s getting snaps now. I think maybe a couple of targets this season so far, but yeah, he may not be 100% yet.
Yeah, i don’t like the unnecessary risk of Atkinson…I suspect they want fan and media attention for the way these guys are executing, but c’mon…
Early line vs SDSU: Beavs by 13.5
Odds on Beavs winning the PAC: drifting down to +400, there’s a pattern here, went +1500,+1000, +650, +400. winning will do that!
Got my SDSU tickets last night. Hope to see a genuine sell out next week. Fans are starting to come back out of the woodwork
Looks like prices are going up too!
Watched the SDST TXST game last night and SDST has some big boys on the line but they don’t have the kind of defense that TT does and I don’t think their offense has playmakers like CSU does.
Plus they’re still battling the Mumps
unless they live in ft collins, allegedly
and ride bikes, play guitars? (allegedly?)
How long are Vegas and the betting public gonna overlook these Beavs? The over on 56.5 may be the last time for easy money…..or not.
What’s the flex game I saw on the schedule last night? Is that an open spot for a conference title game? Teams that don’t make that game, do they schedule a non conference game?
I believe the PAC will set up flex games that it believes will maximize chances of a conference team getting to the CFP.
It seems to be an innovative way to get more eyes on the conference.
Others here may know better, I’m just one ol’Beav!
I think you’re right OOB. Sortof a wildcard game in the schedule where they can choose the matchups later in the sesson in a way that will benefit the confernce most. They can schedule a game for every team based on regional rivalries or in an effort to strengthen a resume ahead of CFP decisions
It seems counterproductive in some ways and risky for the conference. Theoretically, a top P6 ranking has nothing to do with better strength of schedule or in conference repeat match-ups. I would guess if the Beavs are 9-2 and just beat BSU, they wouldn’t be interested in playing the 2nd or 3rd best team in the conference to strengthen the resume the week before the conference championship game. It would make more sense to have the top team in the conference matched up against the last place team with a home-field advantage to assure the next game is a win. It would be in the conference’s best interest to keep feeding wins to the leading ranked team as the season winds down to the conference championship game. The conference should basically seed to 2 best teams playing the 2 worst teams for the flex games, assuring either team has the best shot to get the CFP spot with a win in the conference championship game, which could be OSU 10-2 vs BSU 10-2, but Beavs have the head to head win, and 2 losses to top 25 teams.
Watch NDSU, James Madison, New Mexico as they each need at least 1 loss to be bumped down enough for OSU to jump them with 2 losses.
P6 teams receiving votes for the Top 25 are:
Coaches poll
Boise State- 271 pts
James Madison 12 pts
NDSU- 7 pts
AP Poll
Boise State- 181
James Madison- 42
NDSU- 29
New Mexico- 7
I would think a head to head win twice against BSU gets the Beavs into the CFP. The gap seems pretty wide and BSU is getting a lot of respect both groups of voters
From a story on the SDSU win over TxState:
“Texas State then gave up more field position late in the third quarter after going for it on fourth-and-6 from its own 24-yard line. The Bobcats fumbled on the fourth-down try,…”
SDSU had big plays to make the comeback from being down at the half 17-3. A 96yd KO return, an int at the TxState 17, and a pick 6 late.
How does this impact next weeks game at Reser?
Same script as CSU game. Don’t turn the ball over, don’t give them a chance to return anything and score 59 points on them.
SDSU isn’t going to slow down OSU or luck into 21 point to keep it close. Those scenarios make me less worried about Texas St as well.
This is a new era and the Beavs are competing against maybe 5 teams for the CFP spot. Best odds the Beavs have ever had to make it. It will be something of a beauty contest, but if the Beavs are a highlight tell of touchdowns all season, they will get the nod after winning against Boise State twice.
Fill Reser and go Beavs!
It would be funny if Faber lost a second game and thus was out of the CFP while we made it. That would go down as the most unexpected flip-flop of this season!
“Fill Reser and go Beavs!”
Saw ranked HOU played in front of a nearly empty stadium Saturday..as the college football product degrades attendance suffers and there’s so much sports on tv, it seems like an issue. Many broadcasts don’t even show the stands much anymore fir significant portions of the game.
I think Reser will look great this Saturday, people will enjoy an entertaining product, and it will be a great site for the PAC championship game. BSU’s stadium is more piecemeal than Reser, and doesn’t look as cohesive or professional. One end zone and “the gap” look awkward at Reser, but it’s a nice place to watch a game….I enjoyed the new side.
At least on stubhub it looks like ticket interest is high(?).
? Fourth and 6 from their own 24?
According to the Beavs official stats. 650 yards on Sat. Over 700 seemed a bit much and under 600 seemed too low with all the offense they had. 223 on the ground is more than I expected but they did have some pretty big gains at times
Nearly every play was for positive yardage, which helps those run stats. No sacks.
Nationally, are the beavers the darlings of CFB? Or, is it more of a regional attraction? Or, is it just to soon to anoint them as a the Cinderella sweetheart of CFB?
My sentiment is it is too soon to say ™, but I admit I’m also not attuned to CFB this year as in the past. It seems like most of the attention is on what is or isn’t happening in Congress that will affect how college students will be compensated next season. :3
I’ve liked what I’ve seen from the offense– it is genuinely fun to watch
I agree but as NB commented below, the beavers are getting lots of attention social media bc of their offense, Shep, Atkinson and Legree. If they keep winning in the current fashion they are, by the time the Boise State game rolls around, it might bring ESPN GameDay to Boise.
Given the connection and coaching tree to Mike Leach and the air raid attack, there’s certainly going to draw some interesting commentary from analysts if they keep up this current pace.
“It might bring gameday to Boise”
Lol. Not happening
Since I see alot of activity on twitter, especially post game, I have noticed an increase in national and even local accounts who are talking up the Beavs as a team other’s should pay attention to. It usually revolves around our QB/WR duo, but our offense in general is generating alot of buzz. And it will only continue to grow as more people tune in. It really has been a remarkable turnaround in terms of watchability. Beavs are a fun team and also easy to pull for. It’s not like the Chip Kelly duck offenses that were fun to watch but easy to hate.

Thanks, nice list!
Your assessment of Dahlen’s offense is spot on.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/science/articles/california-brought-back-beavers-first-015219913.html
Is anyone else still in shock/blown away on how fast shep completely turned this team around
:::raises hand:::
Yes. With some 40 new players and a new staff?!? Executing so competently so early?!? The performance against TT? I can’t imagine a prior staff from recent history doing that, much less the consistent offensive onslaught since.
I remember them saying they had WR speed and a deep rotation of tight ends and I was like “Yeah, right…coach speak…” damn they are productive.
Atkinson is playing like the QB many of us have wanted for years; smart decisions, catchable passes, rare negative plays.
The way they try to get multiple players involved is great, has to be so much better for motivation and preparation if you know you’re going to get an opportunity, especially when Atkinson reads and throws to the open man instead of fixating on one or two guys.
The play call for Milbourn, who just had a son, how cool is that on part of the coaching staff? It occurred to me if Lanning did that the media would fawn all over it…
The lines are a pleasant surprise, though I’m not sure they would hold up in the old PAC week to week…curious what others in here think.
Shep clearly had a vision and a plan and communicated it consistently. It is working.
I have to give the former AD and hiring committee compliments, they hired a good HC.
I watched some of the UW – USC game on Saturday. I really haven’t watched any college football besides OSU in about 2 years (and not a ton of that last year). I was surprised how much bigger and faster the players in that game looked than OSU and the teams we play each week. Our lines were getting pushed around a lot more against TT and Houston. I think we’d see a significant issues on the lines if we played those guys week in and week out.
I’m going to rain on everybody’s parade here as well. It feels like the best win the Beavs have this year is against a good FCS team. UTEP and CSU are not good teams. We just need to keep getting better particularly on Defense.
I was encouraged by how much of our offense was just dump offs underneath, drag routes etc and they still couldn’t stop us. Feels like we’re going to need that if we ever run into a team with a stout pass rush.
“We just need to keep getting better particularly on Defense.”
Agreed. A win over TT would have been very nice.
But I think the Beavs have a chance to build confidence and good habits now for a hopefully good postseason opportunity. I say “good” only if the rules have changed and rosters aren’t bailing before bowl games. If that occurs, a bowl win is meaningless. If it’s a CFP round 1 competitive game, then great.
Really?
I’ve watch those games and other P4 games too.
IMO, Line play is not glaring different.
Watch = watched
Glaring = glaringly
Teaches me not to post while NOT drinking
ESPN Bowl Predictions has one writer slotting the Beavs for the Poinsettia, the other for the Holiday. I’d be good with that, San Diego is the one bowl location the Beavs haven’t hit before, pretty sure fans would travel.
SD would be great bc of the weather and SD offers a lot of great things to see and do.
Recent stadium remodel, apparently lotsa food trucks for food options…
Huh? Snapdragon stadium opened in 2022
Remodel as in left one wall standing on same footprint LOL It was built in the same location, no?
It was built in the parking lots for Qualcomm. So technically, right next door.
My brain went, why would they remodel a brand new stadium?
Ahh, that’s right. Complete rebuild! Forgot!
I watched the replay of the TSU-SDSU game. Main takeaway: TSU lost that game, SDSU didn’t win it. Poor playcalling and untimely errors were the name of the game. SDSU didn’t have to move the ball at all on offense, which is good, because they really couldn’t. Detailed notes below.
SDSU Offense notes:
— QB is inaccurate and can’t throw on the move.
— Lucas at RB is short but runs tough. He’s hard to bring down.
— They don’t throw the ball downfield much. Most passes are short or along the line of scrimmage, hoping receiver can beat defender one v. one.
— The C (moved from G due to injury) did not snap the ball well. Something to watch this week.
— Their QB can run a little bit, though I wouldn’t call him a running threat.
— Acevedo (WR) has some shiftiness. They try to get him in space, though it’s tough when there is no downfield threat.
— Their offense didn’t have to move the ball due to short fields. Key is to make them actually sustain drives.
SDSU Defense notes:
— Way too much cushion on the receivers. Consistently played 5+ yards off the line, allowing free release.
— Their D was not really able to deal with a mobile QB. Atkinson is less of a runner than the TSU QB, but he will have room to run if a play doesn’t come off cleanly.
— A delayed handoff/draw play consistently caused confusion for their D.
— Plays where a WR in motion catches the pass in stride were there and gained yards. Might see a lot of Legree in that position.
— Defense made halftime adjustments, and it showed. More penetration on run plays. Still open receivers.
— Former Beav Kai Wallen drops into coverage from DL and gets a pick. One adjustment was disguising coverages more in 2nd half.
— The RPO option will be there, as the D consistently keyed on one option, and guessed wrong a lot.
— The prevent D was run terribly. Coverage way too deep leaving underneath wide open.
Overall, I think this is a winnable game. Beavs need to put together drives and force SDSU to sustain their own. Their QB is limited so they need to put him under pressure and make him make the throws.
It’s such a bummer that this OSU team is showing flashes of talent and success – because I know that none of it will be here next year in the portal/NIL era.
I want to rally behind Coach Shep and his recruits, but I know that anyone who’s got any skill (including the coach) might simply up and leave in the off-season and we’ll be starting all over again.
It’s why I can’t care anymore. Freaking sucks.
Let hope spring eternal, my friend. We can despair future possibilities or we can enjoy it for what it is. I have had the same thoughts, but I wonder if Shep is maybe built a bit different than most. He has been a nomadic coach, has been in the NW and all over the country. I almost have an expectation that he may be here for a while, and his guys love him, which also means they may be bought into what Shep wants to accomplish by staying put in Corvallis.
If Shep stays and we can find the cash to keep Atkinson, and Legree, then there will be much better players wanting to join in on what Shep is building. Let the future be bright instead of being a gloomy Gus.
Agree 100%. College football as a whole kinda sucks right now. But the Beavs are actually fun to watch this year.
Worry about Shep, Atkinson and Legree after we play our last game.
Till then lets see how far this team can go.
Shep and Dahlen are a great combination. Focus on keeping them both and the rest will all into place.
Let’s not forget that Shep found the current studs on this team and he’s bound to do it again of needed. He’s raising a family too and no better and safer place to do that is in a small community like Corvallis. I don’t see shep as a guy that would bolt for at least 3-4 years especially to a bigger school where expectations are much higher and patience is not a virtue. Sure, he will eventually leave, but I don’t think that happens for 3-4 years. That said, of Beaver Nation can keep the Big MO going and boost the NIL to a competitive level, that will be icing on the cake. The qualifier is nothing is engraved in stone anymore.
I could also see Dahlen replacing Shep at some point in the future if he wants to be a HC.
I dunno… If UDub comes looking later this year, they can offer generational wealth to a coach.
Saw Chad Ochocinco is making the rare trip to the area today. (Landed in PDX today according to his social media(
Sounds like he’s planning to visit a Blazers practice and you have to think he’s checking out the OSU game on Saturday. He expressed interest in watching the Beavs in person the other day.
Good to get that extra free exposure as he’ll bring additional eyeballs to the program.
He just had an interview with Canzano where he said he is moving to Portland. He is in town trying to get a job with Adidas.
Dhalen meets the press today, how can you not like this guy? So great he’s from Oregon, and a Beaver fan, AND creative and competent!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfxDl9lzWwk
thanks for the link. future head coach. If we do find ourselves in a situation where Shep is moving on, I’d like to see Dahlen promoted and retained.
Dahlen’s playcalling is NFL-grade. He will make the pros eventually IMO.
At around 5:06 Dahlen demonstrates how in synch he is with Shep when he pushes violence saying, “we’re not playing tennis”.
Recently heard Shep say if you’re not playing vicious football then you otta try another sport.
To me the key element in the SDSU game is run D. Do we get gashed or TFL’s? Got to get that fixed before the Blue Donkeys show up on the schedule.
Lots of angst, dread and fatalism among the posters these days. I admit that I have had the same feelings of knowing the better this season goes, the likelihood of it being a one hit wonder it becomes.
But I’ve decided to enjoy the ride. Ignore the impending doom and live in the moment. Not going to worry about next year until the season is over. Embracing ignorance!!! Beavs are a darkhorse for the CFP, the schedule sets up for a better argument than any other G6 team.
This is the way.
If you’re dating a 10, that isn’t a complete psycho, cooks like a Michelin star chef and rocks your world in the bedroom, it seems like half of beav nation would be crying ‘what happens if she leaves’?
Enjoy the damned ride, y’all
Yeah but…we have one job: “A critical view of Oregon State athletics “
Where’s the fun in having joy?
OK, maybe the 10 has a couple of warts, better?
We don’t know if she has warts yet, but we should enjoy looking for them, right?
Maybe that’s too weird…
In this day and age probably the genital variety
Or other days and ages….
Looking forward only to the next game, the atmosphere is going to be rocking. Students are the most in tune with the program so they should show out. Full sections and with the way the team is playing, they’ll stay the whole game.
Shephard needs to be his usually cheerleading self and send word out to fans to come to the game. Looks like a decent amount of seats are still available. I don’t think it’ll be a sellout but maybe 85-90% full.
Haven’t been on the new new side much, did they fix the bathroom problem over there? Those are way too small for the amount of people needed to use them.
Shepard has sent word out via his presser…talks about the value and effect of a home crowd…
Anyone have 2-3 tickets they can’t use this weekend? I’d be happy to buy them off you!
None for this weekend, but may not be able to make wazzu game
Thanks OJ! I won’t be able to make that one either unfortunately.
Watching Shep’s presser yesterday made me pony up for tix from OSU direct, so I’m all good for this weekend. That guy could convince me to run through a brick wall!
“Oregon State is the must-watch, feel-great college football team that nobody saw coming | Bill Oram”
https://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/2026/10/oregon-state-is-the-must-watch-feel-great-college-football-team-that-nobody-saw-coming-bill-oram.html
Nice article. Thanks for posting. I don’t ever search OregonLive because of their paywall so I stopped caring what they write. It could be the trend going forward to see more articles and features like this. The Beavs are as entertaining as any team I’ve seen this year, without the nonsense bravado stuff. It will be tough for the national guys to dismiss OSU for the entire season if this continues.
As the Beavs gain exposure nationally, they will have more of a national following than ever before. Lots of fans knew it was a rotten turn of events that happened to OSU/WSU. Everyone loves a good comeback story, which is why I think OSU gets the nod for the final CFP spot as long as they win out…imagine saying that and it has a ring of possibility. Insane turn-around that we can even think in those terms.
It’s the other end of the spectrum from the Deion Sanders and Lane Kiffin-type of NCAA football slime…
OSU is winning with character, and as corny as that may sound, I think it’s important and reflects well on the University. It starts with Shep, who is appreciative of this opportunity, his coaches, the media, his opponents, the fans, the custodians in the facilities, and even challenges officials in a respectful way. Neither this staff nor the players are entitled, and that in itself is very refreshing.
Um leading tackler Aiden Sullivan is facing a felony charge
I know it’s way too early to think about it, but if the current staff is auditioning for the next realignment circus, and I’m sure that’s the furthest thing from their mind, they are making quite an impression.
While Corvallis is small market, Portland is the 23rd largest TV market and could suddenly become very attractive for the B12 in their efforts to try and keep pace with the SEC and B10.
If WSU could get back on track, and OSU continues it’s dramatic improvement, and Boise State continues to be Boise State, the PNW becomes a viable geographic add for the B12.
Like I said, it may be far too early before the next realignment circus, but don’t think that the B12 is just sitting on their hands and not having serious strategic planning to make sure they get their share of the billion dollars of CFB playoff pie. After all, their conference survival depends on trying to keep up with the big boys.
I wouldn’t mind getting Cal and Stanford back for academics, maybe AZ schools for regional footprint…there’s a P12…I suppose 16 is the magic number these days….add Utah for 13, play 12 league games…ha!
Not really a fan of joining the B12 .
Okay, if we could bring back a few of those teams but the prospect of doing so is unlikely. While I’m not a huge fan of the b12, it would offer much more TV revenue and exposure as well as move us back into a P4 Conference. While it’s great to have a revamped p12, we know that it’s not going to ever be what it was or have the TV revenue it did. This is about survival and that requires money. In other words, the haves and the have nots.
Can fuck off……Cal, Stanford, Colorado, Utah, Arizona schools. They jumped off a sinking ship.
Double fuck off….USC and UCLA. They started this whole mess and are responsible for the ship taking on water and listing.
Double fuck off and DIAF…..UW and Oregon. They torpedoed the ship when they COULD have helped steady and salvage it.
Dont ever wanna play either school again or be affiliated with any conference they reside in. In any sport.
Special honorable mention triple fuck you to George Kliavkoff
Double Fuck off: UO, UW
Triple: USC, UCLA, CO (pandering to coach slime).
I like a genuine, west geography, and some schools with academic strengths.
I also like this and small conferences but neither is reality anymore.
If the Big 12 calls, you absolutely go.
I don’t like this reality but it has to be the athletic department goal unless they have some evidence the PAC can become a Power conference again (maybe add the top half of the AAC and you are but I doubt it).
No one is coming back, not even Cal or Stanford.
Agreed
I like a genuine, west geography, and some schools with academic strengths.
I agree and would have rather seen Nevada and UNLV (Reno and Vegas markets) as adds instead of Texas State. That one really doesn’t make much sense.
Those 2 schools.could still potentially on the table. Maybe even SJSU but they can’t seem to get their shit together except for once in a blue moon
TX state gets us into big Texas market and recruiting exposure too.
I was responding objcritic
“I like a genuine, west geography, and some schools with academic strengths”
….its dramatic improvement…..
Washington State game was at least double the upcoming SDSU game for tickets, but I’ll be going. PAC-2 game here we come.
I “settled” for the SDSU game because of the prices and got 2 tix even though I’m planning to go solo. Will have to figure something out with the extra ticket to make sure the seat is filled. Got decent seats on the new side too. It will be my first time going since the stadium was rebuilt and I moved back to Portland.
That was my original plan as well though schedule conflicts came up. Have fun, should be a blast with the stadium rocking again.
Saturday afternoon weather forecast for Corvallis, mostly sunny, high of 63….it will be a great day to be a Beaver!
And a lousy day to be an Aztec.
Because you asked for it, things to be critical about and they are real, not superficial.
Kick return coverage. Beavs are ranked 104th!!! It’s not good. It’s best they kick it deep and get a touchback. SDSU is ranked 8th in kick return avg.
Third down defense is pretty awful. Also ranked 104th! These are the plays that cost the game.
Avg 7 penalties per game, good enough for 90th in the nation. They get their bang for their buck because in avg penalty yardage per game they are 112th!
Total defense is 78th, 76th in pass efficiency defense, 88th in run defense, 82nd in TFLs,
Lots to work on in order to beat a team like Boise St and Fresno St on the road. Need to be getting better each week, not letting up on defense if the game is in hand.
Shep continues getting buy in, Ocho Cinco at Valley Football…
https://x.com/BeaverFootball/status/2107636480311271608?s=20
Ocho Cinco was in town partly because of a new role within Adidas. CMO apparently.
Sounds like he is moving to Portland actually(where Adidas National HQ is based) from his comments in an interview with Canzano.
Notice he was decked out in Adidas gear during his visit to campus. It does make one wonder if OSU is tempted to switch apparel brands finally and get out from under Nike’s shadow?
Our current apparel deal is through 2026, so the time is right.
I think you are on to something here.
At least AI (SI?) tells me that is when our apparel contract ends with Nike.
Nike is shit so we should 100% support this move.
Its also for old people according to the youngsters. The time is right to move on.
Whatcha got for an offer Adidas?
Adidas: We’re not Nike.
I hope so as Nike sucks!
Maybe the pac could structure a conference wide sponsorship that nets the conference $$ while not necessarily outfitting each school as contracts expire taking on each as they expire. Adidas official apparel company of the pac 12. That would buy them a national marketing partner with advertising viewable through the pac 12 broadcasts on every tv in america through CBS, USA and CW.
Currently just 3 schools wear Adidas in the pac but the conference has on air talent and studio shows and eyeballs running in to see how this pac product develops
True enough, his first stop in Portland was Adidas and trying to meet dame and ja, but he did make it down the 5 and onto campus for the first time in …what, 25 years?
Why the fuck is that? That’s just shameful.
Well, he’s famous, and clearly key to the fiesta bowl season and win (even with dropping the ball before the goal). He didn’t graduate, correct? Did he stick around just until the bowl game and leave for draft prep?
“You will start to see us have a better relationship with him, with Gary Payton, don’t forget about Jade Carey,” Griffin said. “We got a lot of alumni who want to stay involved. There’s Jordan Poyer and Brandin Cooks. All of them want to be here and support. We’re now laying out a canvas to show them the way how they can and that’s really important.”
Great to see them include Jade Carey. Maybe some impactful WBB alumni too, even if they didn’t have great pro careers.
Yeah it seems like the AD has really dropped the ball if some of their most well known players don’t feel welcome/haven’t been invited or had a hand reach out for 25 years. If that is the case that’s shameful. And maybe that’s not the case, but a 25 year absence, a new AD and vibrant coach and Voila, 85 magically coincidentally shows up?!
I’m a firm believer that business is about relationships, even strictly from a business perspective just astonishing.
You mention women’s sports and it is a good thought. The school wants that family brand and identity, they need to tell the whole story. One thing I will say is SR has always been proactive in that regard. Throughout the year you’ll see past players at Gill during games.
I know Griffin has said that he wants to ‘tell the story of OSU’ and that, and this, is his leaning into that approach. Sell the university, sell the ad, sell the story; athletes present and past are a huge part of the whole story. Good on him for carrying through and not just paying lip service.
WR Butler, having played QB (and RB) in HS, wants to throw a pass….won’t be surprised if we see it in a timely fashion this season. Says he and Legree are tied 1-1 in two races, need to race again. Not sure if it was head to head or just against a clock.
Dana Altman is retiring. Really hope that doesn’t mean they pick a low hanging fruit candidate to replace him and try to poach Joyner.
Joyner’s wife is on staff at Oregon already so would be an easy move if the money is right.
https://x.com/PeteThamel/status/2107875711285703152
It begs the question of what is about to hit the fan at Oregon? More scandals for ESPN to sweep under the rug and Altman is just tired of it all?
The Ducks are already talking about buying our best players for their roster next year, and now it is a concern that they may need to hire our coaches away also? Ducks are a bunch of losers who think they are entitled to everyone else’s stuff. It makes me dislike them even more. Phil Knight has created the entitled mentality for an entire fanbase. The demise of NikeU will be spectacular to watch. They have forgotten where they once were before Nike dumped billions of dollars into their athletic department. It is one of the great ironies that Autzen is built on a city dump. No better analogy could be found.
From the dump they came, and to the dump they shall return.
I doubt there’s any scandal. Its been known for a while that Altman is not a fan of where college athletics is headed with NIL. The Oregon AD has also made no small secret that they’ve been disappointed in his teams the last few years. I will admit timing is strange wit hit being so close to the season.
Nike stock price is down 50.1% in the past year and 77.5% over the last 5 years. Since they can’t really sell anything but Air Force 1’s nowadays (no innovation to speak of in the last decade plus), that stock ain’t coming back anytime soon and is just running on fumes and nostalgia. Without that money, basketball was the first sports to start feeling it. And without that NIL money, Altman figured he can’t compete. Can’t blame him though.
The timing might actually be good on this. While I agree there’s a definite draw for Joiner (more money and even closer to home), I’m guessing they’ll go after a big name rather than someone so unproven at least as a head coach. He might be their plan C if they strike out with a couple sitting P4 head coaches.
One of their assistants is going to be the coach this season on an interim basis
If they’re not making a hire for another year and Joyner has a big year this year, that might make the timing bad….
I don’t see them going after a guy with one year of experience. Even if successful.
Yall remember who some of these new teams are coming into the Pac, right?
CSU, SDSU, USU, Gonzaga. None of those opponents are a cake walk
Sources are saying that Legree might soon fake an injury or just outright sit out in order to stay healthy and maintain his stock for a transfer as he is already having staffers at some big programs reach out with very large NIL offers for next season….
Might those anonymous sources be from Eugene, Baton Rouge, Austin, or Columbus? I hope Legree is more of a competitor than to do that. I think you may be a Duck troll though.
I actually wonder if Shep would put up with it. Somehow they seem to have a great connection as coach and player. Shep is a proven wr coaching savant and Legree is his most recent prodigy. I hope there is a clear plan in place to try and keep him. Nonetheless, OSU has a pretty full wide reciever group and it may be ok even if he sits out.
OSU is becoming relevant again if trolls are returning to the board.
Nah, seems totally legit…a top receiver in the country would be wise to fake an injury and make it look like he’s too fragile for play in the pac which would definitely garner big$$$ and offers from top 10 well leveraged programs. They love throwing cash at kids that play a handful of games and then fake injuries.
I think you are right on about the troll angle OB bc we know that duck fans have difficulty reading.
Sources are also saying your mom is a whore
Sources are saying Lanning is faking an injured throat, might not suck any more cock this season. Holding out for an SEC offer….
I really think the bottom 10 missed a golden opportunity for the coveted 5th spot with the Tyson Summers/Jim Mora fiasco
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/50119421/college-football-bottom-10-week-5-michigan-back
That was my immediate thought, too. If the Beavs have a 20+ win season and make the tournament, it would be pretty convenient for the ducks to hire a guy who was a Big 10 assistant and now has experience sitting in the lead chair.
I would hope that Joyner would show more commitment than that but have heard that he was angling for a job as an assistant in eugene before our pivoting to our head job when Tinkle was fired.
It’s maddening to think Tinkle is getting paid better this year than Shephard and his entire staff combined.
Barnes’ stink won’t go away quietly
I know he gets a lot hate here, and other places, but…Barnes didn’t do a terrible job with hires…granted the last one had the help of a committee but he hired Shep, JS, Pendleton, Canham, Boss and the other soccer coaches after that.
Certainly does feel like the dawn of a new age though…The new look athletic dept is moving in a fresh direction, new people, new blood, new energy and no one is mourning the transition
Hopefully Joyner isn’t looked at as Altman’s replacement. I know his wife is already coaching for the Quacks and so he likely is eyeing the position…..
What does she coach?
She is the head women’s soccer coach and was there before we hired him. We likely wouldn’t have gotten him in the first place if she wasn’t.
Don’t be so negative. Joyner isn’t going to bolt after a few months. He would have waited if he wanted the Ducks job as everyone knew Altman was done. His first year buyout is fairly high also. He already is living with his wife and family again and only has a 30 minute commute to work.
You know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery so I guess that’s why you are back again using my name. You must have a man crush on me too or you’re just a simpleton troll.
I personally hope Legree goes somewhere where his skills can trial be utilized, on the big stage. I think Coach Kiffin could do a lot with his skills.
Lame Kiffin could not do more than Dahlen…Hell, Smith at Ohio State isn’t doing “more” than Legree/Dahlen…there’s a reason Kiffin never stays anywhere.
Don’t disrespect Coach Kiffin. He can develop.
Smith is still more impressive because he is doing all of that against future NFL talent. Legree is doing his stuff, while impressive, against guys who will be working 9-5 in a year or two.
Oh look, we have a troll in our midst. Try to keep up there Shirley.
Yes he can develop! Hes really good at developing STD’s
TIL: TTech and Houston have no future NFL players.
Nice to see Ochocinco on campus. I think it quadruples his actual physical time on campus when he was a student, haha. Don’t know if this connection will be super sticky, it seems like he’s got a lot of other priorities. But occasional appearances through the years would work. Asking for money should not be a thing.
While good to see the connection made, if the Beavs want to keep alumni around or visible, need to create reasons for them to come back just because. Some kind of athlete alumni center would work. I know baseball has alumni lockers and lounge and guys do come back. Bazzana talked about meeting Kwan. Football should do this too if they haven’t already, giving former players a place to workout in the offseason and mix in with current players.
In the FWIW category, Beav Men’s Soccer is on EPSNU currently. They’re playing Cal Baptist in Riverside, with first place in the P-12 on the line. Beavs lead 2-0 at halftime.
Who the hell would downvote the Beavs winning in a sporting event?
Duck trolls most likely….
Drew Rassmussen and the Rays sweep the Yankees. He’s the likely game 1 starter for the ALCS
Enjoy Legree for the last 8 weeks y’all have him! He’s welcome down south.
You sound like a jealous little bitch.
Geezus fuck your pathetic. Go fuck a direct family member and keep the gene pool small.
I didn’t see your comment until after I posted mine. Lol, they love keeping things in the family.
Have you slipped your sister a roofie and partayed with her lately? Yee haw your toothless hillbilly.
Reminder: don’t feed the trolls.
Duck fans jealous of any OSU success are predictably anxious when they aren’t the center of attention. It is to be expected when OSU has a couple of good weeks and a few new stars that the Duck fan will denigrate, mock or try to deflect from the good vibes in Corvallis.
Don’t feed the trolls, you can block the guy and let him speak into the ether without an audience.
Funny that you think I’m a Duck fan ?, just checking out what players we can poach. GEUX TIGERS! LSU!! LSU!!!!
He may be an actual Tiger Dropping, guys.
Nobody extols Kiffin, if they can help it.
Haha trolls are on the lookout… downvote less than 2 minutes after I posted the warning.
Trolls are losers and usually live in a dump like Eugene.
That dipshit really expects us to believe an SEC guy went out of his way to visit an OSU blog, which is funny because SEC fans are usually too busy smelling their own farts about how no other conference deserves play off spots. This is highly unlikely.
More likely the misspelling of “Geaux” would suggest either a Ducks graduate, Ducks bandwagon rider, or as I mentioned at the beginning – dipshit.
I cant believe 3 people down voted this.
Its mostly correct
No disagreement from me. I lol on your comment smelling his own farts and that’s probably not a challenging thing for a duck fan bc their heads are shoved so far up their a$$, they have to wipe their faces after they drop a deuce.
Yeah, someone hijacked my user name again, and I guess the same goof that did it last year. So he’s either a troll or a stocker or a has a creepy man crush….pretty creepy IMO.
some executives from Learfield about this (Monday). If we find the jersey patch partner, not only will they have their logo emblazoned on all of our jerseys and kits and uniforms across our 16 sports, but they’ll also have an important relationship we hope that supports our student-athletes in other ways, like real and true NIL deals, work in the community and different types of opportunities for career advancement.”
I hope it is Buc-EE’s!!!
Really worried about losing Joyner. His wife is the women’s soccer coach at UO and we likely don’t get him if she hadn’t been there already. Now, with an opening down there, it looks like he’d certainly be eyeing it….
Eh… maybe. But who would want to be in that AD voluntarily? As it is, their kids would have the choice of going to the Midwest liberal arts school or the better school up north for free.
Dana Altman was a cheater and a fraud. How else could he have pulled Bol Bol out of a Kansas high school during a time when Bill Self was handing out big money under the table. Altman didn’t like NIL because he no longer had his secret advantage. The local sports radio station used to always play an Altman sound bite in which he would say “Paying players is the worst thing you could say about a coach” – used to drive me nuts.
The Bol commitment was hilarious. Altman made it very clear that he was not in town that weekend, and he basically threw Stubbins under the bus, if anything hinky was ever discovered.
The Nike mystique is wearing off…..
Altman actually was a good coach. His record at Creighton proves that. He just couldn’t quite reach the top of the mountain even with Nike $$$$$.
16 years and only one final four to show for it. Maybe, just maybe its because even with ALL that Nike backed money at the end of the day its still fucking Eugene, Oregon.
Sometime the answer is right in front of you. Whether you choose to believe it or not
Are you aware of Nike or a booster offering to pay players?
“No. No.”
Why do you feel players come to Oregon?
“When you say that, I feel like you almost insult our school.”
Lol. That was more insulting coming from Altman. OOS was/is right. Altman had good/great teams when Nike and boosters could give them cash. Now everyone can pay players. Its not fair! Lol
Didn’t he try to sign a rapist transfer from a Big East school (Providence), and then he played dumb about knowing anything about the player’s questionable past?
100% correct
Imagine if we had Walker on this roster as well? I wonder if he regrets going to the shithole that is Houston to play in front of an empty stadium and leaving what has been built up in Corvallis? He has less than 200 yards on the year and only 1 TD so far….
Isn’t that one more TD than he scored his whole time here?
Receiving
REC YDS AVG TD LNG
2026 14 198 14.1 1 43
2025 68 823 12.1 2 43
2024 81 901 11.1 2 43
2023 5 66 13.2 0 24
(Curious how this will format when it posts)
Stats look pretty identical from beavs to post beavs, he’ll never see the pros but maybe he put some enough coins in his pocket to buy a new car
To the LSU troll: I like my college towns to not have been on the top 10 per capita murder rate list for the US multiple times within the past decade.
BASEBALL………Schedule for PAC play announced today:
https://osubeavers.com/news/2026/10/8/oregon-state-baseballs-2027-conference-slate-revealed
Trip to Dallas Baptist is in late May, good timing for a road series?
You can view the entire 2027 sched here, including tomorrows exhibition vs Okotoks:
https://osubeavers.com/sports/baseball/schedule
No games listed in mid/late March and early April. Looks like missing about 20+ games.
My error, not “entire”.
From the first link, “The team’s full 2027 schedule will be released at a later date.”
Anyhow, what do you think of the timing of the trip to DBU? Could be a big factor in post season seeding?
They still need to fill in a few games against 0regon and Portland, and at least one weekend series to fill it out.
A few? Thats 29 games currently. They still have almost half the schedule to fill (55 or so games total)
Road series late in the season always count more
My thought too.
I like that DBU is not only on the road, but will likely be highly ranked at the time.
Beavers rated #5 in the Group of 6. Up from the #9 spot the previous week. I think this is all headed for a split into two different divisions after the next realignment.
The SEC and B10 will sign exclusive media deals as a developmental league with the NFL. It will probably expand to 48-64 teams and the remainder of the teams will be its own division and league with playoffs.
Given the current set up with P4 and G6 programs,, it certainly has the framework to go that direction after the current media deals expire.
Good.
They can take all their sports and just leave the NCAA. Then we can have an actual tourney for for football and finally name an actual NCAA Champion.
The only question is… would Notre Dame go or stay?
They will follow the $$$
Not to mention they think they are God’s gift to football, they would never stoop to play for the spirit of the game
Orange out Saturday.
Team in all orange uniforms.
Sadly our ding dong fans can’t figure out how to manage these color themed games. I’ll be there in orange though, you can look for the fat guy in orange
That’s my look!
Guardians strike back in sixth
Having fallen behind again, Cleveland scored six runs in the top of the sixth to suddenly take a 9-4 lead in Chicago. Travis Bazzana tied things up with an RBI double, with Patrick Bailey, Jose Ramirez, Chase DeLauter and Jo Adell (two) adding RBIs in the inning.
Nicole Auerbach, writing for NBC Sports says it out loud:
“The Broncos were my preseason pick to make the CFP, and I still believe they’ve got a great shot to do so. But they’ll have to get through a suddenly electrifying Oregon State team — led by quarterback Braden Atkinson, the nation’s most prolific passer — on Nov. 14. That game could (should?) determine the G6 representative in the CFP.”

I think San Diego State walking into a buzzsaw this weekend.
Looking forward to the game day environment. Attending for my first time in over 2 years.
Students will be out in force, it’s a mid day game so fans will gave ample time to get lathered up, and you have to imaging Shephard knows exactly how to use all of the recent hype around the progran to motivate the team even more than they have been.
SDSU QG isn’t particularly accurate or a run threat.
Their calling card was supposed to be defense this season, but they gave up 29 to Texas State and 41 to Toleda the past 2 weeks. Should have lost to Texas State.
This game should be every bit as lopsided as CSU
Keys to the game:
*Protect Atkinson
*Show up the the game
We’ll be late, probably something like 2nd quarter, hoping to walk in to a wall of sound
Agreed. This is going to be fun for fans and the players.
I expect it to be about 80% full, maybe more, which is a pretty impressive turnaround on Shepard’s part on a very short time frame.
How about today? Can we post today?
Hallelujah! Was getting some weird error message yesterday “request header fields too large” and couldn’t post. Emailed angry but no response. Idk wtf happened.
We return you to your regularly scheduled shitshow
Been getting this for some time. I have to switch to incognito mode in google.
Here you go. I’ve used this fix before and it worked;
. The Real Fix: Clear Cookies for That Specific Website
Instead of clearing all your browser history (which logs you out of everything), you can delete cookies just for the forum you are trying to use.
• Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Brave:
1. Look at the address bar at the top of the screen.
2. Click the tune/settings icon (sliders or a padlock) directly to the left of the website’s URL.
3. Click Cookies and site data or Site settings.
4. Click Manage cookies and site data, then click the Trash icon next to the site name to delete them.
• Mozilla Firefox:
1. Click the padlock icon to the left of the URL.
2. Click Clear cookies and site data…
3. Click Remove.
• Safari (Mac):
1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
2. Search for the website name, click it, and hit Remove.
3. Check for “URL Bloat”
Look up at your browser’s address bar. If the link is incredibly long and filled with a massive string of random characters, numbers, and question marks, it might be a corrupted link. Try deleting everything in the URL after the main address (or after the ? mark), hit Enter to reload the clean page, and try posting again.
4. Disable Aggressive Browser Extensions
If you use privacy plugins, ad-blockers, or grammar checkers, they occasionally inject heavy data into your header fields. Temporarily toggle your extensions off to see if the error disappears.
i’ve found dumping the cache will fix that
Thats all I did this morning and it seemed to fix the issue
Quite the turnaround, from who cares to “OSU the most fun team in college football”
https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7673417/2026/10/09/oregon-state-jamarcus-shephard-pac-12/?unlocked_article_code=1.HVE.UPBe.mj_cUX7ALTGR&source=athletic_user_shared_gift_article_copylink&smid=url-share-ta
““They are the real deal,” said Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire, whose top-15 team trailed Oregon State in the fourth quarter before a late rally. “(Atkinson and Legree) are freaks, and the OC is a dude.”
…
The energy is back in Corvallis. So are all the points. The coach’s message for the rest of this season is, naturally, one of confidence.
“Get your tickets,” he said.”
Feel good story? Maybe play some James Brown “I feel Good” this Saturday….
Legree’s dad on X:
“Go Beavs!!!! We not chasing money we chasing opportunities & Shep and OSU presented that to our family.”
https://x.com/KaliElite_CEO/status/2108343077777908125?s=20
You can’t take statements like these from players, family, or coaches seriously unfortunately. Remember when Martinez said he was fully committed to OSU then was gone like a week later? So many other similar examples.
The reality is we are likely losing him until we see otherwise. That’s the unfortunate reality of college sports today. Conversely, I don’t think you can blame the players.
If another employer came to you and offered you more than a million dollars more than your current salary to do the same job and get more career exposure, you’d be stupid not to take it, right? Especially in a field where your window for earning in less than ten years.
I hear what you’re saying but I think maybe more important is the staff, and keeping them in place. Players will come and go but a coach that’s invested in the right kids will help sway the equation in the beavs favor.
Martinez jumped when the pac fell apart and the staff disappeared.
They don’t need to chase money, it’ll come to them. He’s been earning a raise every week
Apparetly WRs are starting to get $1M deals. Keep Dahlen/Atkinson/Legree they’ll continue to light it up…
BUT – I hope they also focus on Shepard, Dahlen, and the O and D Lines.
So weird to have to be talking about this….”I hope they pay a 19 year old several hundred thousand dollars+ next year so he’ll stick around!”
Somehow it’s not a big surprise to learn that Shep took time to console Sweet Home FB after tragic death of their teammate, Mason Flores. Visiting the team in person was very much appreciated by those associated with the Sweet Home team, just look at the comments.
https://www.facebook.com/shhshuskyfootball/posts/it-was-an-honor-to-have-coach-shephard-from-oregon-state-football-come-talk-with/1530769812188309/
He wants to be invested in the community, and that community can use all the support we can all offer right now. That story is rough.
Classy that OSU wasn’t putting this on their own social media.
‘most if not all Lake Oswego football to game this weekend,’ Shep/AD invite or organic? Either way, good sign getting reach to local HS.
https://x.com/TyreeSmithTV/status/2108395174107992472?s=20
That’s great bc a program like LO puts out some strong talent.
Hey JacK! what are you up to this week end?
Stalking much…..
“We’re not playing tennis; we are playing a violent sport. I challenged the guys last week when we had Olsen and Newberry finishing runs but our sideline was dead. I’m like, this is wrong. This is not right. If that guy is putting his shoulder through a corner’s face I need to see like popcorn on the sideline – guys jumping up and down – and we did that (at Colorado State). … I want to double down on the running backs; those guys are still running pissed off. I don’t know what they’re doing, but it’s awesome.” – offensive coordinator Mitch Dahlen”
Popcorn! Love it! Don the white “Benny beaver” helmets and start popping on the sideline!
I heard Shepard on the fan the other day. They were throwing a softballl question about all of the few good stuff happening around OSU. He is immediately shut it down and said all of those stories are lies and that they aren’t to be believed because OSU has been disrespected by everyone over the last 2-3 years. And not only the school but the players, the fans, the communities, the coaches who coach at OSU and what they endured. He was feisty about not being gentle or “happy to be here” but demanding excellence and restoring respect for OSU as a whole on the national stage in all sports. Such a good response, and I didn’t expect it from a guy who just arrived. He is in the process of changing the course of the entire athletic department from a PR standpoint and it is my guess that he isn’t alone inside the building but has a lot of people in his camp. Why he may not realize is the old guard that never wanted OSU athletic success is still lurking around Gill and VFC and lecture halls around campus.
Go get ‘em Shep, don’t let up and demand more from the fans, community, academia and national media.
I’m here for it!
Go Beavs!
52-17 OSU destroys SDSU and everyone will be on notice.
https://news.oregonstate.edu/community-news/oregon-state-enrolls-record-number-new-students-strong-growth-nonresident-population
OSU going against national trends with new student enrollment increasing. Need these ones to finish what they started and grow the alumni base
Do online students attend football games though?
The enrollment numbers are nice to see, but I don’t know that it translates to future support for athletics if the students don’t spend time in campus
I would hope they are doing something to engage the online students. I believe they invite them to graduation at Reser. But need to do more so that they feel a very solid connection the the school.
Bet I could name most of the schools on this list (Oregon, cough, Oregon). Cheaters still gonna cheat
https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/multiple-power-four-programs-face-college-sports-commission-investigations-over-alleged-nil-cap-evasion/
HEY ANGRY! You still in Colorado?
Stalker much…..
A fun fact I just looked up, Legree has more yards and TDs than Chad Johnson had in his one season.
Probably more time in classrooms too…
Anyone got tickets for tomorrow??
OSU ticket office has plenty
Just flipped over to BYU game on TV. BYU’s QB is number 47, I have never seen such a thing before. Does college football not have number/position conventions like the NFL?
Angry? Jack? Where are you?
Probably checking your IP address and will swat you for stealing user names.
GAME THREAD SET FOR 0700
Damn… gotta make bacon for Bloody Mary garnish’s, thanks!
Watching WSU/USU this evening. Beavs should take both of these teams to the woodshed.
Not impressed with either team and tons of yellow flags
Did you see Montlake mutts v Hawkeyes score lmao
Huksies get the newspaper swatch on the nose for pissing on the living room floor….
Swat. Fuckin autocorrect
Beavs will handily defeat SDSU, WSU, USU…only challenges remaining are BSU and OSU’s own discipline and focus.
Jesse Legree tops ESPN top 25 freshman

Apologies if already posted, but RIP Mike Ditka

I’ll take Ditka over God, 70-3.
So the game is USA network today? Is that the low resolution network? I’m surprised another network isn’t picking this up.
“New Pac-12’s Broadcast Highlights
Football’s maximum reach & national exposure – The new Pac-12 will see the entirety of its football slate, its home game broadcasts, available either to 100% of U.S. television households via national over-the-air broadcast networks (CBS & The CW) or via cable, satellite or over-the-top streaming on national cable networks (CBS Sports Network & USA Network).
Pac-12 Enterprises production – The league’s best-in-class broadcast production company, Pac-12 Enterprises, will produce 150+ broadcasts for the new Pac-12’s media partners across football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball as part of its long-term partnerships.”
I thought with the PAC network capabilities, broadcast quality would be higher?
Not sure but I think that was mw and cow but don’t quote me.
Hey Angry! Jack? I’m here!
Awe, you looking for a hookup? I don’t think angry swings that way. You might try a dating website for alternative sexual preferences.
