Vegas has moved from Beavs -13.5 to as much as -16.5; beating the spread has been a constant all season, is this the last time? Feel good story in the NYT/Athletic have more eyes and, likely, more $ on the Beavs. Easy money may be in the past.
Anyone worried that Shep will let these guys overlook San Diego?
Anyone ready to offer a score prediction, how about a prediction of penalty yds?
Great conditions forecast, 60 degrees-cloudy-very little wind. Even on USA there should be plenty eyeballs on Corvallis.
GO BEAVS!!
Oh yeah, Beavs 42-17 with 65 penalty yds.
I got 38-14. Beavs take their foot off the gas in the second half. SDSU offense is bad, and I don’t think they get started in this game.
Go Beavs…got a good chunk of change on this at 13.5. Line is up to 16.5 which means a shit ton of cash has come in. Beavers 38-13
You got any $ on Beavs to win the PAC? I’m in at +1000, now showing +375.
Turd! I mean third….
Beavs roll 44-17
The game plan is don’t let up at all. Maybe SDSU rolls out some new wrinkles to stop the Beavs offense, but they need to keep pushing. Get the ball to the playmakers in space. Seems like all the WRs have elite speed.
Penalties?
Playing time for backups?
Penalties might be inherent to this team, so I don’t expect much change. Especially with depth issues at CB.
Playing backups is an interesting conversation these days. I lean toward, not playing them. It’s going to take 4 quarters to beat Boise St and Fresno St. Need guys ready to play a full game. and with the amount of turnover year to year, there’s not a lot of reason to develop guys when you can bring in new starters.
Good points, but I’m concerned about Wells not being eligible for the last few games and would also like to know QB#2 is ready if needed. No easy answer.
NCAA hasn’t won any TRO cases against guys who didn’t go the NFL. Is the NCAA even sending someone to Benton county to defend their position? I’m not worried about those guys staying eligible.
QB2 is likely Murphy. He’s got enough experience to step in
Also, with this staff I think more can be expected from Murphy in terms of performance. Apparently he’s been a great teammate, and I think the combination of coaching and play calling would pull out the best from him.
SDSU reaches its high point of the season when they force 2 OSU punts in one half!
Beavs keep rolling 44-17.
This morning I was thinking about the kinds of people I have met, and while I know there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being rich (depending on how you earn your money,) I’ve never thought an entitled rich person who came into wealth they didn’t build (think UO/Lanning, TT/Whoever in this context) was more interesting than people who had to be successful with fewer resources by being creative and working hard.
Shep won’t let them lose focus. I think the staff and team will genuinely appreciate a mostly full stadium (I don’t imagine it will be completely sold out) and they will feed off the crowd and roll. Shep may even lead an energetic student section again.
Blowout win beats the spread, big game by TEs, some nice runs, Legree is Legree, the pundits notice, and can’t ignore the “feel good” story at OSU, given the consistent production across all games, including HOU and TT. People love a comeback story, particularly for the good guy that is creative and hard working.
I know money tends to win in the end, particularly in crooked systems like college football, but enjoy this season. Shepard/Dahlen/Atkinson/Legree/Butler/Olsen are lightening in a bottle.
With the resources that Oregon St. does have, I think the goal must be to replace Boise St. as the “Boise St. of the Group of 6” for now. And it does need to happen fairly quickly. Defeating BSU this year would go along way toward getting that narrative going.
A lot of buzz in town this week…
Lots of customers chattering about the team, everyone from those that I know who also follow the team, to folks that work on campus/in the AD/the foundation, as well off the street goobers just with small talk…a huge departure from the past couple of years.
Passing the fairgrounds this morning there were more campers than I’ve seen in at least a year+
Reser should be pretty pumping if not full. More wins, more buzz, more bandwagon, more cowbell…We’ll get there
They get the win today, and they should, the wagon will be pretty full and Reser popping off for wazzu, which is also homecoming
I’m curious to see how Fresno looks at home vs Boise State.
Feels like Oct 31st at Fresno is the Beavs next true test. That stadium can get pretty wild and with it being Halloween night, it has the potential to be a more difficult and loud environment than any other road game this season.
Maybe they’ll do an orange out? Ha!
Guys like Atkinson and Legree don’t blink and should handle it.
It’d be so cool to see this team in a first round of a playoff. I don’t think OSU has the O or D lines to advance to a second round, but I know they’d be entertaining.
I know it’s late notice but I have 2 tix I can’t use sec 128 row 12 seats 1 and 2 if anyone wants them.
They are cleimed
Loving Shepard’s orange suit and cool tie…I want a tie like that!
If anyone at the game posts here and watches warm ups, curious how Shepard’s warm ups look. I’m guessing very “professional” and well executed.
That 50 million roster in Eugene certainly looks like a cfp team lol. If it weren’t for a UCLA fumble at their own 1 yard line they’d be getting shut out.
Yep, as the Ducks QB sucks and their defense isn’t looking great (right when I posted the comment about defense, Boregon picks off a pass).
nike run game being controlled by Bruins too.
Lanning doesn’t use a TO with the ball and 6 seconds left in the half……doesn’t show confidence in his O. And he’s got good reason to not believe in his O right now.
It sure looks like the collapse is in its early stages for Lanning and NikeU. UCLA is just giving them all kinds of chances to stay in the game but Nike looks like they aren’t really interested. Lanning is mailing it in and his coordinators are not good at all. The whole program seems to just be hoping that they can win on talent alone.
Such a poor product and I’m glad they are middle of the road Big10 team.
Uncle Phil is in the house, just sayin’
10-6 and a long way from over?
I think though you’re right in general. Struggled against BSU at home, lost to Okie State, struggling with UCLA at home.
A $40M roster and a $10M head coach. This is pro football though. The NFL is littered with teams that reach for talent, overpay, and don’t assemble cohesive, team-first rosters.
Even if Oregon wins, this isn’t a good look.
Wow, their state line looks like shit.
This doesn’t even sound like a watchable game.
I bet they paid $1M+ for Dylan Raiola?
Nike 0/7 on third downs.
I’ve always been a Murphy fan…
RU kidding me, Malik Murphy on the TD catch on 4th and goal. Wow!
Shep and Dahlen see the value in keeping everyone involved and not just a few stars. Such good stuff when you finally have visionaries at the helm.
Awesome!!!!
SO predictable (eye roll)….
Good start for the Beavs……
The Nike turnover machine is up to 5 after that last pick. UCLA starting QB is injured so its a battle of the backups. UCLA went for it on 4th down inside the 5 last drive and came up empty. Take the points! Bruins back in tbe red zone after the latest Nike turnover
Did you see some of the crap the Duck defenders pulled when they had the UCLA QB on the ground? One was a WWE arm bar to his neck.
The fun offense continues and it appears loyal guys are rewarded. Milbourn last week and Murphy this week.
