AngryBeavs Gets Press Credentials

122

Now that I’m prime time, I have to censor you guys. Starting tomorrow, all comments will be moderated by me before showing up. Any commentor who curses will be warned and then subsequently banned after a second infraction. Excessive negative commentary will be banned. Anyone bashing race, women, religion, etc will be banned immediately.

Some more bad news: since the donation model isn’t working, angrybeavs is resorting to ads starting May 1st. I have a deal in place with an ad service. The ads will be obtrusive [so you click on them]. Also starting in May, there will be a premium section that’s behind a paywall, and that will cost $200 per year.

Go Beavs.

      • Wait.

If I give someone money does that mean I can curse?

And what is a curse word or bashing? Obviously, writing fuck (and all derivations) about some pasty, self-righteous Christian pussy creep should be against the rules. But what if I copied and pasted Mencken? He essentially does the same thing without specifically doing the same thing.

We must respect the other fellow’s religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart.

  1. Regarding the premium section: can you make a deal with a company that sells poorly designed and overpriced beaver swag and give us back a $100 credit for said crap? And does it come with a pair of Hip Hop Hooray socks? Or maybe an “Angrys Great? #damstraight” t shirt?

  2. @Angry

Just in case you didn’t see this yesterday

@ Angry – re Ghostery & Youtube: Ghostery has added a new category called Customer Interaction which has what I’m calling a subcategory called YouTube. If you unblock that you’ll be O.K. with YouTube.

To be clear, Youtube works for me with Customer Interaction blocked and Youtube allowed.

I don’t use facebook so I don’t know about that one.

  3. Congratulations on the press credentials, it’s been a long time coming and you deserve it!
Now, will those credentials permit you inside the WBB locker room? With camera?

Oh yeah, please send me a dozen of the “Angry’s Great! #Damn Straight!” shirts. And a pack of the “Lindsay’s Angry Beav” maple bars. Just love the new Shopping area on the revised site.
    4-1-16

  4. Happy April Fool’s Day! Hopefully the press credentials have actually happened and it’s not an April Fool’s joke. Way to go angry!

I use Ghostery & AdBlock while using YouTube and I have had no problems at all. The only real problem is that I’ve asked angry 4 times to let me on the site without having to go through the spam filter…either he’s ignoring me or has missed the emails. I’m making the fifth request public.

    Go Beavs!

    • That would be awesome!

And since I won’t pay for it, I could get you all in trouble for leaking super secret paid info from it.

  5. Where did all of the funny trolls go?

Angry, I know Beav it or Not crossed some sort of a line (I missed what he did) and gave you major agida, but your back and fourths with KrogerComplete chiming in were pretty epic. Gave me mucho entertainment. Even the good hole commenters: UDuck, Casey Reed, etc…

We’re left we all these horrible unfunny trolls (angry@angry you sir/madam are turrible), or racists….

I imagine CoachPHead, upset that no-one contracted him for the upcoming season must be traveling the world, but at-least he’s always funny when trolling Jack.

Can the good trolls come back out to play?

        • I think this is part of your problem here AA: reading comprehension. You don’t read statements all the way and/or ignore important punctuation, and then jump to your own conclusions without actually digesting what’s been said.

          You also take statements out of context and then apply them to separate topics down the line, as well as take comments people make pertaining to minor specific things and then generalize ie;

Angry “I hate how Casey has them bunt with a runner on first, historically it’s such a low probability tactic.”

Angry@Angry interpretation “Pat Casey is a horrible coach who the game has passed by, and needs to be replaced”

You make so many leaps and stretches, I think you’ve missed your calling as a Fox News Anchor.

          • Take a dose of your own medicine. Where did I ever say angry says Casey is a horrible coach who’s been passed by? My only point about Casey is he’s the best coach the schools ever had in any sport. Complaining about him is pointless.

          • That’s exactly right, and what I tried to articulate in the last thread. BTW, you’re both getting banned because you’re being pretty negative here.

        • He’ll let you know that it doesn’t a couple months from now. Then he’ll refuse to source this very conversation because that’s what he does.

And then he’ll proceed to lower the bar from there.

Recognizable patterns are recognizable patterns for a reason.

  6. Negative to nobody but you and Jack. Everyone is annoyed bY Jack, not just me.

And I’m negative because I think you’re insane to believe you can criticize Casey? There is zero chance you know more about baseball than him.

      • Im angry at angry. That’s all. Jack is annoying, that isn’t breaking news. (Sorry Jack’s Mom)

Let’s take a vote… If you guys all believe Angry is correct in his judgements of Coach Casey, I’ll disappear. I know beaver nation wouldn’t agree, but maybe the majority of this site does. Put up the vote Angry, and if more people side with you about Casey than me, I’m gone.

        Sounds pretty fair to me

          • Are you Casey’s kid or are you Gabe Clark? Out yourself!

What do you want the vote question to be? I’m sure it will be something convoluted like “is Casey an awful coach?”

The question I’d put up is “is bunting with a man on 1st and 1 out a smart play?”. You want me to put that up, really?

          • Let’s just use your words since I’m so dumb I get them confused.

“Casey has warts” “Casey is slow to change, like Riley”.

Generally, let’s vote, do people agree with you that Casey has weaknesses, or do they agree with me that he’s the greatest coach in school history, and criticizing him is pointless.

          • I’ll let angry choose how he wants to phrase it.

But I know beaver nation does not believe Casey has weaknesses and “warts”. I’m not saying he’s a perfect creation from God. But he’s the best coach the school has had in any sport, trying to point out his “warts” is pointless.

Which of those would people side with

        • Oh right!

Sorry now makes you lowering the bar to that level every god-damned time you come here makes it all good. Contrition is only truly earned when it’s sincere, not habitual.

          But you wouldn’t know that.

        • And…

Let’s take a vote… If you guys all believe Angry is correct in his judgements of Coach Casey, I’ll disappear.

We get it. You think speaking truth to power isn’t even a right, let alone a responsibility. In fact, you think minute judgments are summary in nature and try so hard to make it so before giving up and turning into a complete tool.

          We get it already.

          • I’m neither going to shut up at your command nor stroke your fucking ego with some arbitrary crap exuding from your mind.

          • What are you babbling about now?

Does what you say have anything to do with anything besides your ego?

And it’s 70 and sunny. Soon there will be burning animal flesh on open coals to go along with the smell of fresh cut grass. Bourbon goes better with all of that than does chocolate milk.

            Fuck yeah!

          • If it’s a vote, for any reader, how is it from my mind?

A vote is arbitrary. It’s an asinine idea because it is arbitrary on a sports blog… where discussions occur… not votes. If it wasn’t your idea, then I apologize to your mind for putting out slightly less crap than I thought it did.

And if you are so insecure about your beliefs, you shouldn’t look for affirmation here. One would have thought that might be clear to even a density like you by now.

          • I’ve been to hundreds of baseball games at Goss. I’m pretty confident in my beliefs in Casey, and very confident that Beaver Nation as a whole sides with me.

Which is why we won’t see a vote here on Angry’s blog.

          • No.

Having an arbitrary vote in lieu of an open and honest dialogue when you have the tools to do so is just plain asinine.

I vote for discussion. How’s that? We’re currently in the middle of one of yours.

        • Shut the fuck about a vote already. You’re not getting a vote. You’re lucky you’re not banned since you’re fucking atrocious. Any other site would ban you.

          • Why would he want you gone? You’re the perfect foil. All that’s left is for you to yell, “Down in front,” after we score a TD.

          • Well if Angry’s buddy McMaryion plays we won’t have much to worry about, as we’ll hardly see the red zone, much less the endzone

          • Well then I won’t 100% guarantee that he won’t start even though others have reasoned with me that this style of offense combined with implementation and a vast swath of inexperience would cause attrition that would certainly place him in that position. Because I know we’re only a snap or two away from him playing at any given moment.

Or I can put it in terms you might understand.

Nuh uh! Gary Andersen knows more about football than you do. Therefore, if he makes him run backward for a safety, it’s the right call. You don’t get to question GA because I believe an appeal to authority is a valid form of discussion. But beyond that, discuss away.

          • Okay he played, we covered that. I was wrong, we covered that.

And when he did play, man he really lit it up didnt he.

          • Dude I’m just gonna say this. If you can’t question Casey even in your own mind for batting Gabe Clark in the clean up spot then you’ve lost any shred of credibility whatsoever. Do you even watch baseball without orange colored glasses? I’m not gonna get into the bunting with a runner on 1st and 1 out. To me that depends on the situation.

          • Whiskey…. Gave Clark is not Ellsbury, he’ll Dallas Buck probably could’ve hit better than Clark. My point about Casey, and the entire staff is this… I’ve played for one of the staff members, and he knows more about baseball than you could ever imagine. Trying to criticize the staff, or point out “warts” and “weaknesses”, is pointless. It’s most likely the best coaching staff in the country. Casey is the best coach in school history. So what is the point of trying to point out weaknesses? There really isn’t one.

          • So what you are telling me is that EVERY move the baseball teams coaching staff makes is not to be questioned? Every move, judgment or call they make is perfect? Is that the message you’re trying to convey?

Angry is right. He has flaws. We ALL do. I’m certain Pat Casey would be the first person to tell you he isn’t perfect.

I’m not going to argue with you that the coaching staff isn’t top notch (although I may concerning Yeskie). But to argue that they can’t be questioned on moves they make or don’t make is completely asinine. Do you do your job perfectly? Never made a mistake? No one has ever questioned any of your decisions?

          • I’ve played for one of the staff members, and he knows more about baseball than you could ever imagine.

Umm… no. Games are finite. That’s why you can apply probability to them and be correct most of the time. Putting the players in the position to execute the probabilities correctly is what the coach does. If you can’t see the numbers, that’s not because we can’t imagine them. That’s a you thing.

I guess we can add mind projection to your large stack of fallacies. You’re not going to get above the Mendoza line with that bat.

  7. Eckert goes down after 5 good innings. Damn this April Fools-Luck o da……
    9 K’s and 61 strikes in 89 pitches.
    Beavs up 8-0

    • I thought you were doing an “April Fool’s”, but I saw the highlights on You Tube. Crushed them 10-1, good to get back over .500 in league. They need to stay there.

      • 10-1 is nice alright, but Eckert going down after the Rasmussen news is nothin’ to joke about. We all realize this team was thin on pitching before April 1; but now??

Who is gonna come out of the woodwork to help these guys get to even Angry’s 12th to 20th? I suppose my top candidates, in no particular order, are: Church, Fehmel, Britton, and Heimlich. If Eckert is out for an extended time, will Casey see Jake as the Friday night guy……ugh.

I don’t have much hope for Pomeroy, big disappointment so far. I had high hopes for that big lug. The rest of the staff is pretty much unknown, at least to me. That is assuming Engelbrekt and Hickey are needed as relief/closer.

  8. With Drew getting tommy john, that’s 4 guys now? Tweedt, Martinek, Cary and Drew.

It’s an epidemic with young pitchers these days and in pro ball. Recent stats have 25% of active mlb pitchers have had tommy john.

I really think it’s pitchers throwing too much at a young age combined with throwing breaking balls. Some kids can throw breaking balls but my issue is that coaches keep kids out there for far too long. When a kid’s tired, there’s no form and they’ll torque their elbows even more to get the ball to break( also many dad coaches don’t know how to teach a proper curveball either). Then when they get older and are able to throw harder, the ucl’s already frayed and it eventually tears. Not much a college coach can do since the kid was already well down that path. Just a matter of time.

    • I have a nine year old who switched to Junior Baseball from Little League. I was stunned to find out this is the first year Junior Baseball is going to pitch counts, they used to just count inninings, which seems useless considering how many walks there are at that age.

    • Agreed. Every HS pitcher should be a fastball/changeup pitcher. That’s all that’s needed. Learn the other stuff later when the arm is fully developed.

  9. Pyrrhic victory last night. Drew’s injury is devastating. The one spot with no real depth. If Eckhert is seriously hurt, this could be a long season.
TM with another throwing error. He looks a lot bigger this year. Has the increased muscle tightened his natural throwing motion? He was money with his throws his first two years.
Martinek now becomes the huge X factor. Can he pitch extended innings?
