  1. Weather continues to look good at Goss this weekend, slight chance of showers Sunday being the only mild concern. Likely near 30 degrees warmer than angry’s garden area!
All games livestreamed by The School and live stats are available at the link below.
Fingers crossed that BIG JIM shows up, Parker doing basketball Friday so we are probably gonna be treated to some more of Jon W.

WBB waiting till Monday for their place at the Big Dance to be announced.
    GO BEAVS!

  2. Can Beavs get into NIT due to teams not being able to participate due to positive tests??? Kansas out, Duke out, Virginia out (others will slide into ncaa tourney) many programs will opt not to participate. There’s a chance!! Not really.

Why stop settle for the NIT?

      Anybody here with photoshop?
Just need to put together a picture of the oregon mbb team partying with somebody who is Covid+.
Then do the same with the winner of USC/Colorado.
Beavs win the Pac12 tournament and get an NCAA at large bid.
Then do the same for each round of the tournament till the Beavs win the NCAA championship.

Place those bets now guys! Major payout

  3. Kinda quiet here, y’all ready for some BASEBALL ?….Basketball?
Canham (THE Pat Casey Head Baseball Coach) has posted the lineup; the righty from Round Rock, Kyle Froemke (only 5 AB’s this season) is in at DH, that leaves Gretler time to contemplate his .158 BA.
Melton at 1st, Ober at 2nd.
    Go Beavs!

ADDED: Livestream has replays tonight! It appears BIG JIM will not be on the broadcast.
So…….rose to livestream and thorns to JIM?…that’s how it goes, right?

  4. Gameplan early has been ET 3’s and feed the ball to Silva down low. If they can get Silva going a little, that should take some pressure off Alatishe.

  5. Basketball is having some success getting oregon to play ugly. Lots of turnovers, Beavs have capitalized on a few occasions.
3’s are also falling at a decent clip.
35-26 Beavs with 1:42 in half.

    Abel at 86 pitches, a WP, a HBP to go with 3 BB……and 8 K’s.
Down 4-0 begin B4……….time to score even a run.

ADDED: quack pitcher lookin’ good after 4 full, 45 pitches, 5 K’s and NO BB or HBP or WP

    • Beavs down 5-0. Duck hit a homer. Hey, at least the broadcast has some graphics this time!

Abel struck out a lot of batters but overall did not have it tonight.

  7. Not a bad half by the hoops team. Can they sustain it and make the leap from nah to can they actually pull this off?

    Got 20 minutes.

I’ll even give Reichle some props for a heads up play tapping the ball to a teammate on a loose ball in the first half

  8. Abel done after giving up a HR, double, another WP in the t5.
Down 5-0 with 1 out and runner on third for Will Frisch.
Abel always seems on the edge to me, tonight he went over and should have been pulled sooner, was allowed to throw 100 pitches. 86 was enough.

Hey, guess I’m getting used to Jon W., actually doing better tonight.

  9. Beavs MBB up 19 now. They’re playing with confidence and purpose like I havent seen from them before. Ducks are a few minutes away from just calling it a night if they can’t cut into this.

    • MBB reverted back to the mean for a couple of minutes, now the lead is down to 14 with all kinds of time left. They need a good play out of this timeout and a bucket.

  10. 12 point lead with just over 7 minutes left.

Baseball getting killed 7-0. I’ll take a baseball loss tonight for a hoops win.

  11. MBB now only up 61-56 still 4 minutes left. Playing tentative, Thompson trying to do too much. Not sure why Calloo was in for Andela for that much time.

  12. Thru 6 full, down 7-0
quack pitcher is really on, 68 pitches, 9 K’s and no mistakes.
Looks like Beavs may not get to look at another arm in time to salvage this.

  13. Beavs win! On to the championship. Another great team effort and a great showing from Andela and Alatishe.

Can they put together one more dream game and complete the Cinderella story?

I would think the Beavs lost after reading these comments.

The fact is, they haven’t lost while leading at the half in conference games.

Seems like you guys are too afraid to cheer for the team, expecting a letdown. These guys are playing with house money! Enjoy the ride for what it is!

Fanfuckingtastic W. Probably the most enjoyable hoops watch all season. I will admit something changed yesterday after UCLA went up by 16. These guys are starting to believe they can beat anyone. A little confidence is a good thing.

Gotta keep up the good mojo……..

Doesn’t matter cause the Trojans or Buffs will destroy the Beavs tomorrow night.

    • I thinking one of the differences is a healthy Andela. They were saying his bad toe is finally healed. Alitishe needs to keep the high energy.

    • I was thinking USC. Beavs did manage to beat them at Gill. Buffs seem to be a bad matchup. I know nothing of them missing anyone.

They did struggle to beat Cal last night.

It won’t matter if the Beavs play like they did tonight. An effort like that would beat either opponent…….

But it doesn’t matter. The Trojans or Buffs will smoke the Beavs.

  16. Seems like the NET rankings punish you more for bad losses than they reward you for quality wins.

We now have more Quad 1 wins than 8 of the top 25 and about half the remaining projected at-large bids. On the other hand, the highest ranked team with a Quad 4 loss is #51 Boise State and we have two of them. The highest ranked team with TWO Quad 4 losses is #69 Richmond.

    • That awful three-game stretch of Wazzu, Wyoming, and Portland where they blew 7 or 8 point leads in the second half of each game, could possibly end up costing them post-season play if they don’t win the championship tonight (unless the NIT is taking a closer look now).

Enjoying the crow on this win as well. Good on Tinkle and the team resisting a letdown and staying aggressive to get another big win. I expect a blowout loss tomorrow but will gladly eat crow again tomorrow if it means an automatic bid into NCAAs…

      • Yeah, like recent years, everyone is vulnerable in the P12 this year. I thought Oregon looked the most unbeatable but they got Tinkled!

What is it about the conference that it’s failed to produce any elite programs in basketball or football recently?

  18. Well, tomorrow just got more interesting.
A USC big man just elbowed Colorado’s best player, Wright, upside the head. It was a pretty blatant swinging elbows situation. Wright had to leave the game, looked pretty shaken up. Could see this turning into a concussion protocal situation.
Icing on the cake, since the elbow happened AFTER the play had been blown dead, a flagrant foul couldnt be called. So USC gets a tech for elbowing Colorado’s star player and knocking hom out of the game.
Like Bill Walton said, when are they going to account for common sense with foul calls?

  19. Holy shit! Just watched the replay. Happy to eat major crow tonight. I drank an Oregon wine with dinner tonight and will take credit for that being the secret sauce. WTF happened to Abel?

  20. Will be the buffs tomorrow. Came down to the last play, a put back almost dunk off a missed Wright shot. Could have been offensive basket interference but Colorado gets away with the win.
The good news is they had to play clear to the buzzer, so the Beavs will have a few extra hours of rest on these guys on the back to back to back.
Gotta find a way to get to make Wright less efficient if the Beavs want to steal a tournament at large bid tomorrow. Crazy that it’s even a possibility.

Like someone said above they’re playing with house money. They need to come out loose and leave it all on the floor. Wouldn’t mind seeing them let it fly from 3 again.

So did everyone complaining about the poor production quality of the baseball games finally get through? I heard there were graphics. Was it just the score or were there batting averages and other camera angles?

I was hoping for a 5-OT thriller, but I still think Colorado was a better matchup for us. We’ve mostly done a good job defending teams like the Ducks that rely more on the 3.

    • The Beavs played solid defense in the 61-57 home loss to Colorado, but my concern is how are they going to generate offense? 49 and 57 points in the two games against the Buffs does not bode well. Hopefully, they can play out of their minds again, but last night’s offense was a statistical outlier. If Tinks has some offensive adjustments in-store, 65 plus points might be enough to win. I would like to see the ball go inside. Alitishe can just jump over defenders and Andela can outmuscle defenders to get shots.

I think having both Alatishe and Andela as weapons inside could make the difference. Colorado is a good defensive team, so you need to have several offensive options and hope a few of them are clicking.

  23. @slamadam….podcast with Bud W. is awesome, favorite part was about the cheerleader that went “ass over tea kettle” after being tripped.
Great work, are you guys putting a new one out to preview championship game tonight?

Kudos to Wayne Tinkle for a great defensive game plan. They got in the face of the three point shooters and they rebiunded to only give one shot. Rebounding was the difference in this game.

When they pound inside and shoot 3s from pass outs they shoot a much higher % and are a formidable team.

That game was fun to watch. Go Beavs!

  25. From the stupid coach files. Richard Pitino, who will be fired as HC of the U of Minnesota tomorrow or Monday, passed on on recruiting McKinnley Wright twice. He signed with Dayton and then was cut lose when Miller took the Indiana job. Had a chance to add a great local player, but went with his NYC roots and signed a NYC kid who sucked and is now at his third school. Derp.

  26. Dorman seems to get good results when he visits the mound; problem last night was not visiting enough.
Anyway after a mound visit, Hjerpe gets K number 6 to close out the t4, tied at ZERO

  27. Batting has been such a huge disappointment so far this year. They make every pitcher look like a fuckin all star. It’s very frustrating especially when they make duck pitchers look better than they are.

  28. Canham visit wasn’t as effective as has been Dormans, results in a 2 RBI triple for ucks.
Beavs offense may not be able to come up with 2 runs today, not taking advantage of the 4 BB’s and 2 HBP’s given by ucks is a bad sign.

  29. Reading up on the format of the NCAA tournament because I haven’t had to care for several years…

Apparently there are two brackets of play-in games: one for automatic qualifiers and one for at-large teams. We could actually end up with a winnable game if we make the tournament because we could draw a lower-ranked mid-major conference tournament winner

    • Only 4 hits for the entire team today, same as yesterday.
I sat with some Anteaters in a post season game at Goss, they ask why the Beavs crowd was so subdued. When I mentioned that the team had been in a slump, not getting hits or runs lately they said, ” That’s when ya gotta support them “…..or something like that.
Feels like a loss on Sunday will send many fans back into a funk.

      • National powers have certain standards. Fans have a right to hold them to those standards (rightly or wrongly) and do.

3 national titles in 15 years will make fans expect a lot.

I’d rather they be in a slump now than this summer but it does suck against Oregon.

I think this team will be okay.

  30. How ’bout that Joe Casey, perfect SAC bunt to set up the rally!
    3-0 Beavs now, b5

Notice Canham has moved from 3b to the dugout today.
