I will never forget the game a few years back that the pilots won at Goss 20-13. How much trash they talked and were chirping late in the game. I want the beavs to drop the hammer on their asses every damn time now!

If Moore does indeed start, I see him with a short outing. I assume this is happening because Wetzler is going to be moved to Fridays. Moore gets in his work on a normal bullpen day and then starts Sat. Maybe 60-70 pitches.

Otherwise the option is all freshman on the mound. Thompson, Eden, Fox, Shelton, and Flemer.

OT: Westhead out at nikegon. Still no word on wrestling reinstatement.

    “Rob Moseley ?@GoDucksMoseley
News from @OregonWBB, the announcement that Paul Westhead will not have his contract renewed. This postseason his final run at UO. …”

With all this baseball talk let’s not lose focus on the task at hand. With a couple more key losses the basketball can both; 1. Secure another losing season and 2. Be in the running for the coveted CBI faux-parchment “certificate of participation” and post-tournament pizza party.

Playing in the post season would provide extra practice time and better recruiting. Just look at how the 2009 CBI experience is paying off today, Right back were we started! JB

Yes, boner….the basketball is winding down nicely, the coach employing his patented second half fade to lose even games where we had big leads. That CBI invite will be huge.

      Beaver basketball is BACK!!

Having the mic next to the Portland dugout is quite annoying.

Wetzler has been the first one out of the dugout to greet Thompson both innings, no surprise. May not be enough though, Thompson throwing a lot of pitches and not looking sharp…..yet?

Besides Keyes working the walk, the Beavs at bats have been ugly.

Nice play by Pdx 3b to get Davis and end the inning with Beavs getting two runs. So far both pitchers have benefited from getting the first batter out each inning.
EDIT; should say from getting early outs, Howard led off with single but then quick two outs before “rally”.

Side out in order in t5, Thompson has gotten leadoff batter out in every inning. Beginning to settle down, that one to the backstop notwithstanding.
5-0 good guys on to b5

Video looks good….sacrificing with a 5 run lead in the 6th??? Where the hell is Earl Weaver when you need him? Can’t really bitch though small ball is college ball.

It may be that Casey just wants to see who he can count on to get the bunt down.
