  1. Every game is a big game going forward. Hopefully they get into a rythym and find some consistency. Stevie started knocking down some of those open threes last game, so maybe the jitters are finally gone and he’s going to start balling like he can. You can tell he has a pretty stroke, just been a couple inches off all season. He starts knocking down the ones he should/can, with tinkle doing the same this becomes the dangerous group we anticipated.

Still time to make a little noise, and try to send gp2 out on a high. 1 game at a time. GO BEAVS!

    • Winning the game with FTs and making some 3s last game could propel STj. Usually confidence builds just like that, via performing under pressure. The guy won the game, so he has to be feeling good and probably lengthened his leash with the coach.

The bigger problem is inside…Eubanks faded, and nobody stepped up. Big G might be playing the best of all of them in there…I’d rotate him and Eubanks and less of the other two bigs.

      • Well it looks like Gomis is out with stress fracture, so I’m thinking along your lines and am hoping that STj is beginning to perform as we had all hoped…

        Go Beavs!

      • STj just feels like a guy who could bust three or four straight threes and break a team’s will, but it hasn’t happened yet. His play at the end of the Utah game was excellent, but some of that was due to Utah imploding. I wish the Beavs had a drive and kick out game. Seems like they have TT and STj to play the spot up role. Duvivier drives, but always tries to muscle his way in and usually misses the layup.

  2. OT- I know there were a couple of comments/articles about Tyner retiring in another thread. Did he ever seriously consider Oregon St? Curious, because Canzano has an article (I won’t post it), it’s about Tyner the person, but Canzano oddly throws in a couple of what ifs……as in Mike Riley would sure like to have him in Nebraska if Tyner changes his mind. Just strikes me that it’s going to take a long, long time for “Riley-itis” to leave the state of Oregon.

    • Riley offered him first. He was said to have interest in OSU initially, before the Duck offer came in. He was then quoted saying something along the lines of Oregon was on the rise, and the Beavs were declining in all sports, not just football. This along with his Dad saying he’d run all over the Pac-12, then hit the summer Olympics, then early entrance to the NFL Draft…. He was destined for failure with his Dad’s expectations

      • Article made it sound like Tyner doesn’t even have that much interest in sports anymore, but his Dad still carries the flame. Just interesting as to why Canzano would pull a random Nebraska scenario out of his ass. I guess because they all had their heads far up Riley’s ass while he was here.

        • It has nothing to do with any relationship between Canzano and Riley. It’s the fact that Riley and Tyner had a good relationship. Probably better than Tyner had with UO coaches. Tyner was swayed by the glam at UO.

    • As I recall there was a lot of excitement about him attending OSU because he’d stated that he was a long time beaver fan.

Then when recruiting time came he attended a game where the Beavs were beaten by a lower division school and looked terrible in the process. There was a lot of speculation that that was a big factor in him losing interest in OSU. He didn’t want to play for a loser.

Yet another reason I wasn’t sad to see riley and bdc exit the scene.

P.S. WFO made their post (see above) as I was working on this. Their post covers it very well.

  3. There were bison bones found as well. So we could make the bison our mascot. Then we could trot Benny Bison out on the field before games and make fun of morons who think it’s a buffalo.

    • I watched a bison chase an Asian fella up a tree in Yellowstone when I was young. He reeeeeeaaaaaally wanted to get an up close picture and I don’t think he realized how quick that big animal could move.

  4. Dude. Seriously? Really? Olaf, nothing personal but the only way you’re going to be at the NCAA tournament next month is if you buy your own ticket. Stop thinking and talking about this shit and go out and try and get 10 pts, 5 boards a game and try playing just a little bit of defense. You’re 6′-10″ FFS. I think most of us could live with that.

    http://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2016/02/olaf_schaftenaar_in_search_of.html

    • It’s like they’re in some video game where they only have so many skill points and have to divide them between offense and defense

  5. Looks like they have looked at film and found a way to rebound better. They look like they know where Colorado players will be and are doing a good job in the zone

  6. Pretty good stuff for the Beavs, but it does end with Lamar commenting that “Olaf gets pushed out of the paint”. My favorite sitcom…….”Leave it to Olaf”.

  7. Just saw Brandon Taylor’s crossover commercial. How many seconds did it take him to realize he dry humped his teammates of a win Thursday? My guess is .25 seconds.

  8. Who taught these stiffs how to box out? Or didn’t I guess. When your leading rebounder is 6′-4″ you fucking suck at rebounding. All of the bigs for the Beavs are fucking soft! Get tough, get in the soup and grab a fucking rebound No excuse for being outrebounded by a 2-1 margin

    • That’s an oddly correct context for laissez-faire. I don’t know if I’ll ever understand why supposed capitalists support a mercantilist ideal.

  9. Much like Thursday night, lucky to win. But it’s good to get the sweep. Stanford up next and guess what they’re really good at and the Beavs suck at?

    • It’s certainly true that this team has beaten a lot good teams at home, but they have to break through on the road at some point to even make the NIT. Maybe 18 wins is NIT worthy? Where do they get three more wins?

      • Other than not having a losing record, idk what criteria is used to select the 32 teams. Regular season non conference champions that do not get the auto bid to the NCAA tournament are guaranteed an NIT berth. The only thing I’ve read is they want the best 32 teams not in the NCAA tournament. I’m sure rpi and sos are taken into consideration. 7-11 in a very deep pac-12 would put them in the discussion.

          • and the Beavs had a record of 17-14 last season and didn’t make the NIT. ASU was also 9-9 in conference, the Beavs were 8-10. So idfk

          • OSU should make NIT if they get to 8-10 in league(17-12),,Because of strong conference RPI and that 9 wins seems to be the magic number of wins for the majority of Conference teams to make the NCAA Tournament

        • ESPN had a bubble update this morning and teams with RPIs of 40+ were in the mix. Obviously, we need to win on the road. If we were to win two remaining road games, and perform reasonably at the P12 tourney, I think we’d find ourselves on the bubble.

      • “…Where do they get three more wins?…”

It looked to me like the OSU bigs were getting after it in the last couple of minutes of the game.

IF (you’ll note the big if) they could bring that kind of effort to the entire game (along with the kids out in front playing a swarming defense) they could win one or two of the games remaining.

        • Also it seemed to me that Rakocevic was willing to get out there and bang bodies with the Buffs and that helped. The Buffs were used to the marshmallow defense the OSU bigs had been playing until then and that kinda knocked them off their rhythm a little bit

And I see Rakocevic had zero PFs so he was doing it the right way.

  10. We probably don’t win that game with Colorado’s best player injured for the second half.

The team needs to find a way to rebound better. I almost think Tinks should go big with Eubanks and N’daye or G? Olaf doesn’t provide enough physical presence. The team does a good job of collapsing in the zone however they are often caught flat footed or a step slow which allows the the offense player to move around or past them. The guards have to do a better job getting a body on players so they can’t get the to the boards.

  11. Stanford (RPI 71) UCLA (72) and ASU (74) losses are going to hurt the resume. My biggest fear is the Pac-12 looks like a 6 bid league (Oregon, USC, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and probably California. Does the NIT want 4 Pac-12 teams? (UW, Stanford, UCLA and OSU). I guess keep hoping Stanford and FUCLA keep losing games. Stanford is only 1 game over .500 now and lost 3 in a row. But being swept by both teams would hurt. Now I’m rambling. NAN

    • I wonder how playing 2 fewer games is going to affect us come tournament time. We could be 16-8 which looks a heck of a a lot better than 14-8.

      • and one of those games against a directional school many are not counting. Most of the bracker projection websites have the Beavs at 13-8 for that reason. Northwest Christian I think it was

    • With Louisville banning themselves from the postseason, it opens up another spot.

The pac 12 will get minimum 7 in. Most brackets are projecting 8.

      • I could maybe see 7 with UW getting in with the previous 6 mentioned. But right now I don’t see 8 unless FUCLA or the Beavs get their shit together. UCLA with a current RPI of 72 would not get them in.

        • Oregon State has close to an NCAA Tournament worthy resume right now. Beavers have defeated the #3 ranked team in the RPI, #34, #17, #15 and #25. Their losses in the non-conference were to #47 and #6 in the RPI. No losses to teams outside the top 100 in the RPI is big. No actual bad losses. Last year, no team ranked 44th or better in the RPI missed the NCAA Tournament. Find a way to split against the Bay Area schools, sweep the Washington schools and split against the LA schools and they’ll make the NCAA Tournament imo. Can’t count on them winning a couple road games yet until they prove it, but go 9-9 in conference play and they’ll get a 10 seed in the tourney.

          • Yes they do. However based on past performances do you honestly think they’ll win a conference road game? Losing to Stanford and/or UCLA again would not help the resume. Beavs now 1-12 under WT in pac-12 road games. To get nine wins they gotta win 4 of the last 7. Not happening

  12. Tonight the Beavers really got it done defensively. Their offense themselves was ugly most of the night, but the Beavers really rotated well defensively and forced Colorado into some tough shots. That type of defense has been missing since the Oregon game. Got to address the rebounds but Wayne made some big adjustments late defensively. Tres and Olaf were really bad defensively and Tinkle got them both off the floor. Big reason Colorado was having a tough time finding good looks.

Tonight was the first time in a while where Tres just looked lost out there. He had some opportunities to go to his left hand and go strong to the hole but spun right and forced up some weak shots in the paint. He needs to start going left cause teams have him scouted with how much he spins right. He also ball watched a lot on defense. He at times is really slow to react when there’s a screen coming and his man gets a wide open uncontested look. He needs to do a better job of keeping his eyes on the player he’s guarding and not ball watching.

Stephen Thompson is the most skilled scorer on this team. He had some shooting problems for a couple weeks, but he’s really getting it going now. With his ability to knock down threes, floaters and getting to the rim, he is insanely skilled. When he catches fire from three, he’ll have some 20 point games. One underrated part of his game tonight was how good he was defensively. He was containing the dribbler in 1 on 1 situations and recovered nicely on shooters. His best all around game of the season. Now, it’s really time for Tinkle to unleash him. He played 22 minutes tonight, that is nowhere near enough. When he was on the floor the Beavers got buckets. He gives them a guy who can take guys off the dribble and score. Using him as just a microwave off the bench is not gonna cut it, he’s too good for that. He needs to be playing 30+ minutes a night. He’s ready for that.

GP2 wasn’t spectacular in the 2nd half but once again made some huge plays late. Him outhustling 4 Colorado players for the rebound off STJ’s miss at the foul line and then nailing two free throws to put the game away shows what kind of leader he is. Scary to think about where this team would be without him. He’s so good and so often has to bail out teammates who just can’t get it done(Looking at you, Olaf, Drew)

    • You make some great observations. I thought exactly the same thing about Tres on defense. I was watching him specifically during the Buffs comeback and there were plays where he was just floating around on defense, watching the ball and not closing out with any sense of urgency. Don’t get me wrong, Tres has a lot of skills, but I hope Ben Kone recovers from his injury because the Beavs need a true power forward at some point.

  13. Oregon State will play its next three on the road at Stanford, California and Oregon and five of their final seven away from Gill Coliseum.

“We went to the bottom of the pack and we wanted to get back in it,” Reid said. “We knew in order to do that we had to take care of our home court. Now we just have to take it on the road.”

The Beavers have lost their last 10 conference road games. If the trend continues and three consecutive losses follow, it will mark a death knell for March Madness aspirations.

    http://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2016/02/oregon_state_beavers_flip_scri.html#incart_river_home

There’s the bottom line. 5 of the last 7 on the road (8 if you count a one and done at the Pac-12 tournament). Last 10 conference road games have been losses. That certainly doesn’t inspire confidence. Quite honestly it’s unrealistic considering the glaring deficiencies this team has. Being next to last in rebounding differential being the most critical.

    • I just think the home losses to Stanford and UCLA are going to bite them in the ass as far as the big dance hopes. If I’m an optimist, I have to think they are going to break through on the road. Every road game this year as been competitive into the second half except for the Arizona St. game (Utah game was very winnable). They have to find a way to not screw up in the last 10 minutes of the game. Stanford is the most winnable, start there and build some momentum.

  14. Those two teams just set the game of basketball back 75 years. What a shitty game….other than the win. The definition of an ugly win. We got out hustled all night on the boards. Awful.
Reid was an important cog in this win. He played some disruptive D and got some important deflections in both games. Coach Tinks jumping up and down from a squatting position while going off on the team for lack of effort on the boards was pretty funny.
Apparently I’m good luck for Beav b-ball. Who would have thunk it?

    • I think that was the most troubling. The effort didn’t seem to be there. I thought at times the defense rotation locked up their guys. But then there was a lot of flat footed waiting for the ball to fall to them, and less getting a body on a body and forcing them to foul you to get to the ball. But it’s about what you expect when your best guys are freshmen and the senior example is one of laziness.

If I was Tinks I would tell LMW, Olaf, and Malcolm. Don’t worry about scoring, your role on this team is to defend and rebound only.

  15. Here’s a question for you: would you rather see the Beavs go to the NCAA and lose in the first round, or see them go deep in the NIT? I didn’t say “win” the NIT because I think that’s an easy answer.

  16. Von Miller >>> Mike Remmers.

And that leads us neatly to the biggest mismatch of the whole game: How will right tackle Mike Remmers deal with the one of the best five edge rushers in football, Von Miller?
Remmers has had a good postseason to date, not giving up a single pressure, but most of that has been predicated on the Panthers’ ability to get out in front early and run the football. Against Seattle he was asked to run block almost twice as much as pass protect, and that makes a linemen’s job much, much easier. Over the season though, things have been different. He has struggled to a degree against every type of rush—inside (28% of pressure), outside (30% of pressure) and bull-rush (33% of pressure). Now he’s going against a player who brings all of those skills in abundance. Miller has a superb speed rush and that devastating dip round the corner, he also has the ability to “jag” inside and then burst, almost at right angles, into the back-field, and to add insult to injury he also utilizes the plain outright power to unsettle even the most robust of tackles on the bull-rush. There’s no doubt Carolina will need to help him in some way.

    http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/02/06/nfl-super-bowl-50-von-miller-pass-rush-mike-remmers-cam-newton-pressure

    • Remmers fits perfectly into Carolinas system. They aren’t a classic dropback passing team which plays into his strengths. So far this year he’s been great. Credit to Remmers for growing into the player he is now.

I like how they say hes only having a good postseason despite scoring perfect on pass pro.

  17. I’m eating at a Mongolian grill right now. Despite it being Super Bowl time, they have Deutsche Welle and the Golf Channel on their tvs. Guess they know their general clientele…

They have also been playing the same Chinese song on a loop since I got here about half an hour ago. I kid you not. I think it’s their strategy to keep people from hanging around too long since it’s all you can eat. I don’t know if they are idiots or geniuses.

  18. Now to be fair to Remmers, that Denver defense has made plenty of offensive linemen look pathetic this year.

It is kinda nice to watch defenses dominate a game to contrast with offensively-dominated college game.

  19. party in the Carolina backfield. Von Miller guest of honor. They also invented a new dance called the superman bitchslap. Pretty boring game but as a broncos fan happy they won. Defense wins championships. John Elway went out and built a pretty good one after that Seattle defense destroyed them two years ago.

    • Three wins against top 25 rpi teams helps out immensely and no bad losses.

Newest bracketology on ESPN has the Beavs squarely on the bubble.

        • Winning 3 of 5 road games is hardly a requirement. Beat Stanford and then beating either Cal/UO/USC and then beating the UW/WSU at home and they’re in the tournament pretty easily. Beavers right now have a completely superior resume to basically all the bubble teams right now. At this stage, 5-5 vs the RPI top 50 and no bad losses. That’s more wins than all of Joe Lunardi’s last 8 teams in the field. Almost like he isn’t even looking at their resume and just keeping them down based on their name and history recently. NCAA committee isn’t gonna do the same. CBS Sports has the Beavers in as a 9 seed

          • What’s frustrating is we have enough talent to beat anyone with consistent effort. Even without we should have two more wins than we do.

Still, three more wins plus one in the Pac Tourney puts us on the bubble with our RPI. It wouldn’t show well going 4-5 to end the season. And I don’t know if that would be good enough to get into the top six in the final standings. So I think four plus a tourney game makes us more digestible for the selection committee. I wouldn’t say that’s the minimum we need with our RPI. But I would say we’re a lock if that happens.

  22. MANDY ALERT
She is due to join Parker on JoeBeav at 1:00

BTW, Parker says his fear today is that, “in the cutthroat world that is NFL”, Remmers gets cut from Panthers.

    • That’s a little extreme. They’ll draft or pick up an OT in FA, and he would move to ST and be a bencher for the OL. He should be a guard. I don’t think anyone was surprised to see what we’ve seen a lot over the years. I was surprised he wasn’t called for ten false starts and about as many tackles… er… holds.

He already knows the playbook, and he was valued enough to be where he was yesterday. I don’t see any reason to punish him for being put there.

So, as Miller was lining up across from Remmers on the defensive TD, they were showing and talking about Mike Tolbert lining up outside Remmers. And I announce to the room, “That’s because there’s no way Remmers can block Miller one-on-one. Tolbert is there to double Miller.”

Apparently he was not there for that.

      • The picture on the front page of the of sports section here shows the back of Remmer’s jersey and Miller’s arm stripping the ball from sCam. I will give him credit for making and sticking in the league, but can never forgive all those stupid drive killing penalties as a Beav.

      • Parker’s not thinking it through….Agree Remmers will stick. He has graded out very high during some games this season, and I am sure by this point the franchise knows what they have in him. They went 15-1 in the regular season, and like many others, he got beat by Miller who was what, the 2nd overall pick in the draft and one of the best in the game today?

Moving him inside seems safer IF he can drive block enough in run support…he’s always seemed like a pass blocker who doesn’t always, well, block for the pass….that’s why he’s on the right side too.

Maybe Remmers can convince the Panthers to sign James Rodgers to help him out, have him run the fly sweep and block on the outside as he did over and over against USC in Quizz’s coming out party…..

  23. OT, I don’t spend much time at Olive; more since Mizell started covering OSU. But when I select the “Sports/Beavers” drop-down menu, I see links to Ducks stories….

So I went to the “Sports/Ducks” menu…no links to Beaver stories…WTF.

    • I actually asked Gina that over a year ago. I was told it was due to Oregon being in the college football playoff and the beavs not going to a bowl game. I really didn’t buy that because I’ve looked several times and it’s always the same. It’s the same with beaver sports now. Granted it’s all OSU article but there’s links to ducks blogs on the right side of the page. I liken the ducks wanting to be the center of attention similar to small dick syndrome

    • I feel like this should be a topic for Angry to address in a future slow media time. Just as he has called out media in the past, this seems like an obvious one to take a shot at.

      • We haven’t won the Civil War in 8 years. The dux made the CFP just a year ago and their Heisman winner is in the NFL currently. We can be mad all we want but until we beat them then they get the top spot.

        • It’s been like this for years….even when we traded wins back and forth, it was all ducks, all the time. Just too many duck homers in the media. I doesn’t help that no one wants to read “neat” stories about Rileys recruits, and CR’s brother-in-law.

        • Not too mention the influence of Nike….how about those “dress a duck” dolls OLIve has on there…”Pick which (Nike) uniform you think the Ducks should wear!”

Canzano always using terms like the ducks “must” keep winning, and recently wrote “we all want” the Ducks to keep winning.”..

It’s not just sour grapes, I don’t live vicariously through sports. I don’t mind if another team wins by virtue of earning a victory. Its just more lazy journalism that suffers from a lack of critical thought and honesty.

          • I used to frequent this pizza joint a lot, until I realized everything in there was PSU and UO stuff. Not a single OSU thing to be found. I stopped going. Take that, bandwagon pizza people :p

  24. Someone tweeting at Remmers:

“Can we please update his wiki & change his position to turn style? I have never seen someone so thoroughly outplayed in my life”

Ok he spelled turnstile wrong, but that’s pretty funny

    • Why kick a fellow Beav when he is down? He was going against one of the best DE’s in football. Name 5 OL in the league that would have fared better.

By the way, if that tweet constitutes “funny” to you, I think you need to get out more.

      • He lined up. He got rolled. He made millions playing a game.

I’m worried about a lot of things and about people going through hard times, but I’m not worried about Mike Remmers. If Remmers bulldozed Von Miller and I found an amusing tweet about that, I’d be happy to post it too. But he didn’t, and I can’t.

  25. I love that Coach A is able to look at and spin almost everything about OSU into a positive ie quarters way better then semesters.

Just for fun: Gina should ask what he has to say about distance to the closest airport

  26. Scam Newton finally admits he’s a sore loser. And no Scam, not everyone who isn’t a sore loser is a loser. Unsurprisingly this knucklehead just doesn’t get it. Romanowski was right in calling you a boy Sunday night. And it had nothing to do with the color of your skin. It had to do with a 26 year old man acting like a child.

“I’ve been on record to say I’m a sore loser,” Newton said Tuesday as players cleaned out their lockers. “Who likes to lose? You show me a good loser and I’m going to show you a loser. It’s not a popularity contest. I’m here to win football games.”

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14745754/super-bowl-50-cam-newton-carolina-panthers-defends-walking-reporters

    • And it had nothing to do with the color of your skin.

Pretty sad people need to preemptively defend themselves. Big shout out to the PC police.

      • Romanowski posted this on twitter and was blasted for being a bigot

“You will never last a minute in the NFL with that attitude,” Romanowski tweeted. “The world doesn’t revolve around you, boy!”

He later caved to the pc dildos, deleted it and apologized. Why? He called him a boy for his behavior. This has gone way past ridiculous anymore

        http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Bill-Romanowski-s-tweet-about-Cam-Newton-widely-6815617.php

        • Because calling someone “boy” in that context looks exactly like the same bigotry everyone else tweets. Romanowski knows this. He knew it when he sent the tweet. If he didn’t mean for it to look like bigotry but still wanted to say Cam acted like a child, there are thousands of ways to do so without his tweets looking exactly like a bigot’s would look.

It’s like sarcasm. People read their own context first. That context is usually the most common. Calling someone “boy” is what stupid Americans call black men and French waitstaff a preponderance of the time.

          • Spare me the liberal pc bullshit and what YOU think his context was. Try taking it at face value. You do know the definition of ASSume, right?

          • That’s precisely what I just said. Most people will take it at face value, the most common usage/context.

Now, Romanowski is and has been intentionally rude and crude for years in his professional and personal lives. So maybe that’s your face value… that you don’t why anyone would follow the nut job, let alone raise an eyebrow about anything he says/writes/does. So reading it would be the first stupid thing anyone does. And compounding stupid by responding to it does not make sense to you?

I can follow that logic. The only problem with it is that you introduced it to others, further compounding the stupid.

          • “That’s precisely what I just said. Most people will take it at face value, the most common usage/context.”

LMFAO! Really? In my 40 years of existence I’ve NEVER heard calling ANYONE “boy” to be racist. And I’ve been around the block a time or two. I guess the bigger question is stop pussy footing around and what can you say that isn’t taken as racist? Nothing anymore apparently if you’re white.

Stop. Just stop. I know this isn’t an argument that you’re going to see the light of day with. But while you’re having breakfast with Al and Jesse in your pea brain and suffering from white guilt, caving to the social justice warriors isn’t helping. You’re just as ridiculous grasping at straws as the rest of them. Making something out of nothing. Jack, I know you think your shit doesn’t stink but seriously you should look in the mirror for once. I wish I could say I feel sorry for you

          • In my 40 years of existence I’ve NEVER heard calling ANYONE “boy” to be racist.

I don’t know if you’re joking. It seems way way way too far beyond left field to be trolling. But I’m saving this for parity.

edit: I just read the rest of it. If you are trying to troll, it would be better when you start with the punch line to conclude with it as well.

        • Given Romanowski’s demonstrable lack of ethics and maturity on the field, why is his assessment of Newton worth anything? Apparently real men use steroids, go into ‘roid rage, kick other players in the head, punch their teammates after practice? Who is the boy?

A player with integrity could call Newton out and call into question Newton’s maturity and professionalism, not Romanowski.

      • Glad to see them being inclusive towards the less privileged – not everyone has thousands of dollars to donate, and therefore I am very pleased to see that hopefully everyone is given a chance to use the terrace. Hopefully they stay true to their word.

    • Get ready for the opposing team to get beer thrown at them!

There should also be a mammoth statue put in there too.

Must be a morning game based on the shadows in the pictures.

      • How about a statue of a mammoth beaver?

I like it. It’d be nice to have a cool one there…particularly if the D is protecting the end zone.

Need some rotating taps to show Oregon beers. No Nikasi or anything from Eugene please….

Looks like general access will be akin to some lottery system or some other way to limit access at any one time.

“Like the state it embodies, the Terrace is a place for everyone. It’s just not for everyone at once. For each game, a number of “Orange Tickets” will be distributed. Sign up for updates on how to get your hands on one at no cost.”

    • Nice that they didnt make it exclusive to those who want to pay through the nose for a special ticket. Sounds like it will be available to any fans as long as they are able to acquire a special pass. Wonder if this means those fans will have their actual seats repurposed, or if they are able to casually come and go between their seat and the terrace area throughout the game? Also wonder if that will change if the beavs start filling reser in the future.

      • I agree NiceBeaver. In fact I posted a bit ago about the same thoughts, but after I posted, I was looking at the site again and noticed that it requires some type of “membership” and you must call OSU to join. This reminds me of a big donor thing now. Nothing with OSU is ever cheap, and they really do cater to the rich fans.

      • That is nice. Definitely felt snubbed the first time I tried going to the beer garden and being told “I’m sorry sir, I realize you’re a season ticket holder, but this section is reserved for Club Members.”

I mean, I’m paying $500.00 per seat to watch 6 shitty games. Could you at least let me buy a $12.00 beer.

  27. BTW, why are some of the people on BeaverBlitz such dicks? Every thread on there ends in some argument and pettiness. There’s several culprits that are constantly belittling someone for their opinion, their spelling, grammar, or opinions (you can’t have an opinion on there, btw): BeavsRule79, OSU_Dave, and more that I can’t think of right now.

    • It’s not just some, but like 90% of them. Why? Because it’s a mature forum, and cliques form on mature forums unless the mod/admin is awesome and discourages BS (like here!).

So you wind up with these groups who feed off one another, it gets all incestuous, and Machado is too afraid to step in because she’ll lose long-time customers or sources, and she cares about that above all else. In short, she’s created an environment where that’s allowed to fester, so it does.

There were a few cool guys over there back in the day and probably still are, but they will get snuffed out by the mob. Some of those guys come over here trying to pull that BS on this site. Good luck.

    • I just let my membership expire after a year, and agree it’s a pretty pompous group.

BeavBlazer was trying to comment and add to the discussion at one point last year and would get bombarded by with vitriol comments.

It seems like many are incapable of change. They talk so much shit about Nemac. I mean, dude definitely started off being a very partial Duck Honk, but IMO has really put forth an effort to be more fair and balanced over the last few months.

      • It’s funny too, because i went to that site with an open mind during the free preview period never understanding why angry disliked it so much. True colors showed early and I quickly figured out where angry was coming from. I even earned a stalker from that site. If you’re ever there and see isbeav2011

        • Oops, that was supposed to say OSBeav2011. He comes over to this site from time to time and even tried(unsuccessfully)to out my real name. I’m half expecting to see him on my doorstep some day. What a creep.

      • They hate Nemec because they think Machado is a god and they will ONLY accept recruiting info or insider info from her, and no one else. The guy “TDBeav” is notorious for this. He will post a question and request that ONLY Angie can respond.

My belief is that Nemec is running circles around Machado and BeaverBlitz. During this past month and a half, free sources such as Nemec, BeavRecruiting, etc. were breaking news and such way before her. I also noticed that her inside connection into the program seemed to have dried up since Riley and company left. In fact, I was told that Andersen might have had a beef with her way back when he was hired? Anyone know anything?

I think BeaverBlitz is going the way of the dinosaurs. Free information is readily available, and we can hear from the recruits themselves on Twitter. Yahoo, who owns Rivals, just laid off thousands of workers. I think they are going to have to change their model, or they will end up failing sooner or later.

        • Yes, yahoo is in a lot of trouble. They will be bankrupt
(or bought by a better company) within 5-10 years, max.

I know Andersen had a problem with one of my sources due to some behavior at practice, so I imagine the rumor he had an issue with Angie has legs. GA is a control freak. In a way that’s good when running a program, but he could go about it a bit better. I think he very likely cut off Angie. I think her source was Gunderson, but I couldn’t be sure.

    • It’s a “good ol boys” club. If you’re not a member of the club? Your opinion is shit and doesn’t matter. Pure-orange was/is the same way. There’s a reason why many refer to it as pure-hate. Which is why I appreciate the format we have here.

      • I love the vibe of the comments here. I feel that is set at the top. “Lucky” :was an idiot/semi-Nazi, and Machado is a full blown Nazi. Of course the comments will be bad. Blitz had some very knowledgeable posters with inside info, but it’s all ruined by the tone of the forum.

Anyway, what we have here is good. I don’t give a shit what anyone says, and if someone says something awful, others chime in to let them know, and usually it’s corrected (and if it’s not, it probably means the original post wasn’t too awful). Self-policing, setting a good vibe and atmosphere, etc…this is how we roll.

  28. All that and it appears they are keeping that terrible orange roof that looks like a strip mall from the 80’s. Low budget and does not belong in a P5 stadium. They should call it the Mammoth Pit and play it up for all it’s worth. Blowing an opportunity for something unique.
