  1. I don’t like how many 3s the Beavs shoot…they need a slasher who can get in there and dish for 3s that are within the flow of the game rather than forced.

    • A Pac-12 team came to Towson and the president is in attendance. They were gonna come out fired up ready to go. The Beavers will take over soon.

  2. Both posts have travelled. The two times we’ve thrown it inside this game.

But hey, their zone is “Making” us shoot outside shots. See, normally we LOVE to attack, but this zone is making us shoot stupid 22 foot jumpers.

    /sarcasm. God I hate Princeton.

  3. This team is driving me fucking crazy right now:

    Our best player plays too passively, because;
Our offensive system is a passive piece of shit that make us shoot horrible jumpers.
Our 2nd best offensive player just jacks up bad jumpers all game.

Our defense doesn’t box out for rebounds, and thus TOWSON is kicking our asses on the boards.

This is so painful sometimes. We’d be down 10 if Towson were a real team.

  4. Roberto is by FAR the best player on the court right now. He is carrying the offense, attacking the zone and taking good shots. He also caused that steal last possession.

And I wouldn’t even let Collier or Moreland practice. They get to shoot FTs for 3 hours a day instead.

  5. We replaced Starks’ possessions with Roberto, and we were about +14. Then Starks comes back in, and our offense dies again.

This is why Starks was not projected as a starter, Roberto was.

And Burton still contributes nothing. He doesn’t rebound, doesn’t play D, doesn’t have any real offense, and tries to make too many pretty passes instead of easy ones(that last hook pass, for example, when there were two men open outside instead). Replace Burton and Starks with Roberto and anyone, and we’re 10x more productive.

  6. Really hoping for Roberto to have a break-out game today to get his confidence flowing. He came in and broke that zone open. He’s also playing well on defense and is alert. Poor kid has had some hard luck in the last few years and it’s about time for things to start going right for him for a change!

  7. More and more rebounds. Burton is worthless on the boards, and Brandt isn’t doing any better.

Probably a result of playing shitty zone D for 3 years; not used to boxing out.

  8. Offensively things are fine. Rebounding is the thing that needs to be worked on. The lack of effort on the glass is not acceptable. Real lazy and not boxing out. This will undoubtedly improve, IMO. Craig will work on it and things will get better in that department. Other than that things are fine.

    • Yup, kind of shocked at the lack of effort on the boards…man to man was supposed to help with that. Offense much better in the second half. Kind of sluggish, but it’s been a long road trip.

  9. You guys are tough. They’re winning by 20, and last year’s team would have lost this game by 20. Overall good, but need to improve rebounds and free throws (Collier is horrible at FTs).

    • I’m fine with today, aside from the rebounds and free throws by Collier as you mentioned. The team is good. Can’t play great every game and they’ve been on the road for over a week. Things were bound to be a little sluggish today. I didn’t expect some 40 point win. Plus, Obama is there, Towson was gonna play their asses off. I like this squad.

      • Nelson’s been really good today, Burton continues to improve (where’d his 3point shot come from??), and Barton looked confident/good. I don’t understand why Collier or Moreland can’t make FTs…both guys have good shots.

        • I don’t know, but they need to improve fast. They both are going to get a lot of opportunities with how live they are around the basket. Could become an achilles heel for this team in games that count.

  10. Roberto with the gorgeous laser pass to Burton for an easy layup, then attacks the basket and draws a foul. Playing better than he has all season.

    • Roberto playing better has a lot to do with health. His ankle has been a problem and he didn’t trust his ankle. Now he seems to be trusting the ankle and is back to just playing ball.
