This is a huge game for recruiting. You can see the visitor list on the Twitter feed. Not only that, but this senior class has played for nothing all year, other than laying the foundation for future success; it would be nice for them to actually accomplish something and end the Ducks’ streak of 8 straight wins and go out on a positive note. They know this and will lay it all on the line. For those who like schadenfreude, the Beavs can relegate the Ducks into last place in the North. It’s like the “Battle of the Roses”, in reverse.
I don’t see any way the Ducks stop Nall, which will setup passing opportunities for McM. Meanwhile, the Beavs D, despite being thin and gassed most games, has played well for the most part. “Next man up” is playing out for that unit. If the Beavs lose this game I’ll be shocked. Crowd should be wild, as it’s Resers’ first sellout in ages.
Should be a good day and nightcap with some recruit commits.
31-21 Beavs.
Hoping for the best but nervous here. OSU should control the LOS but anything can happen.
GoBeavs
Go rodents!
FTD
Fuck Bucky!
Go Beavs! We need this for the seniors & the recruits
https://youtu.be/NDAWaYu-YCo
Let’s go Beavs
Go Beavs!!! But I must admit I won’t be surprised if the ‘ucks win. They’ve recruited better talent over the last 4 or 5 years and talent usually wins.
Win or lose I’ll be happy if the team doesn’t look like shit. Give it your best guys!
And here’s hoping the OC calls a game that’s best suited for McM’s talents.
I feel the same way about this game. Would like to see some good football to end the season. Go Beavs!!!
Scotty will be happy to know I’m making Christmas soap during the pre-game.
Thanks for the soapybeavs update!
https://youtu.be/-lK9DDad4dk
Really great, smart, disciplined D that first drive.
Not much penetration by the d line. Need to get herbert scrambling.
Offense looking decent so far. Don’t think UO can keep Nall bottled up for 4 quarters. Keep on pounding it!
Villiman with a great block!
Nice McM!
McM wants this one
But but but he’s slow and can’t run.
He also looks terrified of contact.
Evidence being what, that he went in head first, didn’t slide and took on a safety? lol
Good pass protection by the oline. Nice run Mcm.
7-0 good guys. Went as expected with the Ducks unable to stop Nall and McM doing a few things.
Yes! They can’t stop Nall
I’d love to hear Helfrich’s pre-game notification on the unis. “Today boys, we’re wearing boogers and piss. Go get ’em.”
Offense looks poised and prepared.
Clune smart with gis shifts hopefully they don’t adjust well
I’d like to see a dismantling now that I see we own both lines.
I take it all back. I’ll just be happy with a win.
Defense will adjust in the next series. I bet they try to go for a long ball within the first 2 plays.
We need some picks in this game.
McM looking likes he’s putting it all together, passing last week, running this week, patient…managing the pace and using clock again…
Helfritch looking Riley request on the sideline, get that man a coat! Lol
Riley esque
False start!
Damn, I thought the Ducks might wilt. Looks like this will be tough. They’re going to wear out our D quickly with that pace and our poor depth.
Need to shed blocks were stuck on them way too long.
Dumb move bolden
Fucking punt return gaffes..
Boldennnnnnnn!
Vic shit his pants
2 bad bolden punt fielding jobs. Time to tell him to let it go. Jesus
Mcm running definitely puts a new dynamic on the offense
Anyone notice Arnold blow up Freeman on that run last drive? What a great play. Came flying in full speed from safety and just nailed him/blew up the pile.
UO is going to get their plays and yards, but the D and tackling against this offense looks SO much better than Banker and Stake with Riley recruits….
Bolden shades of Michigan last year
Bolden going put in poor style so far….
“Out”
Take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have….Victor Bolden.
Bipolar Bolden?
Victor/Victoria?
OSU staff says Bolden will play ST on Sundays. I disagree..NFL coaches don’t like to hold their breath and rosary beads on every punt reception…plus he’s too damn light, that Duck defender held him with arm, picked him off his feet, stripped him…
He’ll definitely play in the NFL. Probably as a kick returner ala Gerard Lawson. Maybe some WR if NFL coaches can figure out his problems.
Loss forward progress can that be used ther?
Terrible call
I’m glad to never see Victor Bolden Jr. ever again after this game.
These commentators are for the Ucks.
Ya think
Yeah, are they not allowed to criticize the officiating? The PI call was bullshit, Glen Parker should just shut the fuck up instead of trying to justify it.
At the game did the PI call look as BS on tv as it did in person?
Yes.
100%
Yep
Bench that imbecile Bolden for the rest of the game. All that idiot had to do was go down, and none of this would’ve happened.
Bullshit pass int. call costs us.
Was the fan on the field naked?
No
Did you rewind it to make sure?
I’m at game lol.
When Nall is in the game the Ucks put 7+ in the box we are going to need to counter that or it’s going to be a long afternoon.
Great un-Bolden like catch by Bradford.
God Ortiz looked like he wasn’t sure if he should run there for a second.
Probably cuz he was in shock that his number was called.
It seemed like he was waiting for someone to tackle him in the back……… or shock. Was he lined up in the back field or as a TE?
McM making some heady plays, extending drives with feet and making good decisions. Keep it going!
Good play calls on that drive. Mcm looks good and very poised. Also I am impressed with Bradford.
Was Bolden even in on that drive? I like GA, he doesn’t give a shit about Senior Day, he’s not going to put up with that.
Get Cook some carries then : )
Do you let Bolden return the KO to start the 3rd?
Yes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sd6wEeKjbqg
UO looking mire explosive….
Noice.
Well that nulls the Bolden fumble. Same situation driving for points.
Looks to me like the OC is calling for QB keepers. I can see one or two plays like that but WTF is the OC thinking – – what will he do if McM gets injured?
Smart coaching letting the clock run. Have to preserve the D more than try for points when at your own 30.
Could have burned 10 additional seconds on that punt snap. No matter since Helf went chicken on us.
It looks like Poreski takes a long time to get the ball away.
It will be nice though when the Beavs have an offense that can go more than 20 yards in 4 minutes, but that’s a next season concern.
If that bullshit pas int. call isn’t made we go in at halftime ahead.
TV guy agrees.
BTW Pat Casey coming up on radio.
Ha Ha. Casey’s first remark is about the bs pi call, gotta love it!
Fortunate to be tied. Cut down the penalties and throw some more to the backs to keep the D on their toes. McM looking pretty solid again. Last team with the ball wins type of game?
Need to get some pressure on Herbert.
Yes they do. I see a lot of lateral movement by the d line and not much up field.
That’s what she said………..happy now angry!
No, that doesn’t make much sense.
I disagree. Herbert stinks so pressure on him doesn’t matter. Need to sell out and stop Freeman, then run Nall/Pierce. Pass when needed.
Don’t let UO run up the middle like Cal did in second half against OSU.
Plus you can trust Decoud, Crawford.
would be nice to get some hits on Hebert though.
Beaver pass defense is legitimately good. Run defense, not so much. I’m in agreement, but the secondary can’t get burned in one on one situations and I think they need to pick Herbert once in the second half to win the game.
Herman signs with texas…….frowny face for PK.
Beavgopher, we haven’t done a “that’s what she said” in ages. Need to find a spot. I see a comment above about penetration, but it’s not doing it for me (Twss?).
“It’s not doing it for me?” That’s what she said.
Halftime show gives player of the game so far to McM. It’s going to be hard for GA to ignore his good play come next season
McM throws wobblers.
Small hands?
True. There were a couple balls that I was sure got tipped at the line. They were just wobbly, it seems like the harder he tries to throw the more they waggle.
As long as they’re accurate and on time they can go end over end as far as I’m concerned.
I saw two wobbly passes all game. Didn’t see many last week. Two isn’t a trend.
Minnesota giving wiscy all they can handle. Go fellow rodents!
McMaryion has looked the best of all the QBs this year but he’s still not good. If he improved his throwing consistency he’d be a competent game manager. He just misses too many throws right now.
70.6 completion % this week.
84.2 completion % last week.
66.7 completion % the week before.
lol
the time to make that type of remark was the Washington game.
Are you watching this game, or just going by raw stats? This game reminds me more of his past performances than last week watching his throws. His low YPA (5.77) shows you that he’s hitting short stuff ok, but not anything long/medium. Just watching him he doesn’t look good this week passing yet.
At one point in the game last week he had a QB rating of 346, that’s insanely good
Though, I do think the coaches will look for ANY reason not to start him.
The reason will likely be named Luton..
Terrible play calling on that series.
Bad energy, too. They looked tired/bored compared to the first half. They better wake up.
Garbage.
Looked like Nall came up gimpy after his last carry.
Here we go with F’ed up play calling?
Have a feeling UO going to start pulling away.
Not looking good. D is Bankeresque
Decoud just got smoked. But yeah Herbert sucks.
Angry, disagree that Herbert is garbage. He will be the difference if OU wins.
I honestly don’t know anything about him. He just wasn’t impressing me thus far.
This is the CW, not bedlam.
This is feeling more and more like a loss. 9 years in a row, here we come.
Energy level is so low to start this half…not good. D must be gassed already.
Crowd seems out of the game, too. Overall vibe changed a lot.
This isn’t good. Oregon is going to reload for next year. This is their chance to win one and they’re blowing it.
Maybe that decent return and facemask penalty will wake them up. They look asleep.
The entire energy has changed. Vanilla play calling. I don’t like where this is going.
Crowd slow to come back for third.
The best ball mcm throws but unfortunately it’s to Bolden
Bolden never learned to catch with his hands. Always wants to catch with his body.
WTF Bolden
We keep getting these guys at the worst time. Last year when Vernon Transfer was healthy, and this year once they’ve stopped sucking and are pulling things together.
Thing is, it’s not really bothering me a ton anymore…
Offense ran better without Bolden in that one game…
The game is slipping away… Wake up Beavs!! Bolden with the drop…
This is definitely a loss. They’re not even into the game anymore. Very odd vibe this half.
D line is getting handled.
Another genius post from Dr Angry.
Read the top post, then post your prediction.
Of course emotions result in comments during a game, genius.
DL need to step up, they’ve been sorely outplayed since the first drive
I’ll be happy when Bolden is gone. Addition by subtraction.
Need some leadership from coaching staff and some player(s) too restablish intensity. They can’t sit around and wait for someone else to do it…
The only hope is a stop then Nall taking over, but they’re not doing either.
Man, 9 straight loses. Ugh.
Better land some big recruits tonight to salvage the day.
Tired of the same old shit. Switched over to Notre Dame/USC
Opportunity knocked, Beavs whiffed.
I mean 3 guys right there to get Freeman.
Major block in the back on the Freeman catch
Time to grow a set and grind out a TD here. Otherwise, this is going to get out of hand.
Need to spread the field a bit, and I’m not talking about Bolden behind the line of scrimmage.
2 missed INTs
Yup, Herbert was picked once, but denied on officiating and then two more picks right to the secondary.
We had 2 opportunities for an interception and dropped both. That is the difference between winning and losing.
OSU needs a WR to step up, separate, make some big plays.
Well, we know it’s not going to be Bolden, so…
Someone better light a fire under their ass.
Villamin is absent once again today. They need to be using him.
Take a shot deep i havent seen one.
Looked like Nall limping on the mcm run.
Angry, I’m being tagged as spam.
Nice drive. Need four more just like it.
Just when all looked lost
Pinger, you should be good now.
Whoever else had that issue should be good, too.
Thank you
These announcers seem to think Nall is slow. They said Pierce is faster (no) and then seemed amazed he had the speed to score…lol
Was that a big boy drive?!?
Nevermind, we’re going to win it now.
Beavs jobbed again
Thats a bullshit call.
Andersen should have challenged it!
Can he? I was waiting for it.
No. It’s not a review-able call
Definitely wasn’t offsides.
Pac zebras strike again.
2 bullshit calls have killed us. Pac 12 refs suck
Offsides? WTF. They looked fine. Damn that was a great play call and execution. Pac 12 refs still suck
Too fucking much to ask for a fair game eh???
Fighting the refs is a kick in the nads. Gotta smash them in the face and take this game.
Herbert looks like he’s about to cry
Defense looks fired up, finally
Refs botching up ND/USC too. Glad the season is over, can’t take more of this Pac ref crap
Dont worry, basketball is still in season
Ugh…
GA should have declined and taken chance with 3rd and 13. Don’t like that call with a thin D.
Punt to Bolden ..time to step up!
Dumb ass refs didnt know what to call on that punt
A. The first guy was in the endzone.
B. The ball landed in the endzone after he tipped it.
C. The next guy to touch it was in the endzone.
Derp.
So clear and they were so confused.
Now we are seeing some heart.
I pray the Beavs come back and win this despite the refs trying to screw them.
Any idea how much these refs make per game? You would think it would be enough to attract some talent.
I’d guess around $5 based on their performance.
Based on performance, that would be too much
LOL
The weather seems to be playing havoc with Oregon’s offense. Let’s hope it keeps pouring.
It’s like the momentum shifted when the monsoon started. I’ll take it!
Manase i think is going to have a monster senior year.
Yes angry, we know, some said too slow won’t run
;)
But where are they now? That’s what I want to know. They never show up to admit.
He DIDN”T run, different thing.
They’re falling his number, he’s doing it.
You rang? I think he either didn’t want to run or the coaches told him not too. “I” never said he couldn’t run. “I” thought he might be scared. That’s not the case it seems maybe the coaches weren’t letting him run til now. It’s actually a pretty smart game plan for late in the season.
Great read by McM.
Man they dont honor mcm he needs to keep more.
Great run
Need a TD here don’t trust our FG kickers.
Flipped back to CW, please don’t Lucy me beavs!
Stay away, been doing fine since you’ve been gone. Scotty absence lucky talisman
Pierce must be covered in vasiline
Have you noticed the rain?
It’s raining Vaseline?
That’s what she said.
Guess I don’t mind being wrong.
Yeah baby!
Great play calling this drive!
Pierce and Nall are such a good combo of backs. Both run with toughness. Big boy pants!
Hebert has not run much. When/if he does, they need to lay the wood to him. To discourage him.
Those of you up there locally — what’s the weather forecast? Hope this keeps up.
Just looked at the doppler. The rain looks to be steady for rest of game.
Supposed to be like this all day
Excellent
That was a guts and nuts drive
At least Bolden didn’t try and field the punt.
Long clock killing scoring drive please.
Time for a long drive to grind the clock and seal this one up.
I expect to see the best of these linemen right now. Let’s see…
If we march down and score a TD. I think that will eat enough clock and seal it. Come on beavs!!! One more drive.
McMaryion wouldn’t run, which is true if you look at his past games… He’s running now and it’s helping a ton!
It’s not the people who said he wasn’t running. That was true. It was the people who said he was slow/couldn’t run. Never saw evidence of that, and in fact saw the opposite when he did scramble.
Yep, time to drain that clock on a long scoring drive.
Two 6 min drives so far in this game. Time for one more!
Time to put this game away !
I’m surprised they didn’t call some designed runs for Herbert on that drive.
Beast mode Nall
Gotta watch for them holding up Nall and stripping the ball…
Nall is a beast and kudos to off. line
Nall out war!
Nall could get to 1000 yards.
Hm, out of the game, guess not.
Heady play by Pierce
Get NALL in there for a 4th TD.
Stick it to these bastards.
TD!!
YES!
Finally. FTD
Nall Hell’s Breaking Loose!
GUTS AND NUTS AND FTD
Digging my 31-21 prediction.
;)
Had to rub it in angry@angry’s face. (that’s what she said)
You’re not good at this.
On purpose?
Beavs would have had 6 wins if Nall was healthy all year. Next year they’re going to be good. Expect some big recruits committing tonight.
Damn it. Watch carrington get arrested tomorrow morning for that assult.
Uh oh.
Bye bye Helf. I have’nt been this happy in like 9 years or so.
Take that back. Take that back right now. I LOVE helf. Hope Phil keeps him another couple years.
Just a couple years? That’s selling him short. He deserves a Riley style lifetime contract!
FINALLY AFTER 9 YEARS WE HAVE GA BIG BOY PANTS!
AND RILEY IS OFF IN THE CORNFIELDS CHEWING GUM DOWN #TPB SIDELINES!
IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE A BEAVER!!!
Woo hoo!!
Luck of the Beavs broken!!
… or made
That’ll do pig. That’ll do
http://www.memecreator.com/meme/that-feeling-you-get-when-you-beat-your-hated-rival-for-the-first-time-in-9-year
God what a sweet end to that drive. Fuck!
Beautiful thing. Very happy for these seniors being sent off with their hard work paying off.
The ones that stuck around bought in and it paid off. Really glad Bolden finished his career with win and no more beav drops.
Andersen is a Beav. This guy isn’t going anywhere.
I think I’m going to cry
That made me laugh out loud. :)
This means quacks finish dead last in the Pac 12 North with beavs on top of them heh heh
just how i like it… beavs on top!
And Pac-12 Network has old Riley clips up right after the game. Gross.
And next year, OSU will have some TEs….
kUDOS TO COACHING STAFF AND LINEMAN ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL
FTD! Nall and Pierce brought it, McM delivered as well good shit boys
I want more!
Any links to post game? Get ’em up
This might work
http://tunein.com/radio/Oregon-State-Beaver-Sports-Network-s206510/
It does, thanks.
I wish they’d ditch Parker. I associate him with Riley. Got the heebee jeebees the moment he came on.
Parker is on the Andersen train and Biley’s off in cornland getting blown out by Ohio State and Iowa :D ..and Purdue lol.
Those last 3 series was some old school ground and pound shit. So awesome. Thank god for the monsoon because I don’t think they would have run the ball that much if it had stayed dry.
GA said as much in his presser
I heard that
The crowd was angry about all the passing and shit for the first bunch of series in the second half. I was hearing very loud grumbling about not running the ball. I promise I didn’t start it.
Then the rain and wind hit, and people were cheering because they knew we were only going to run… and they were giving each other high fives.
And then the onside with the phantom offside happened… and nobody was really that upset.
That’s when I knew we were going to win.
That phantom offside, btw… I haven’t watched the tape… was the ref tossing the flag before the kick? I don’t know why I was looking at him at the time, but I was thinking he was reaching and tossing the hanky before there was any possibility for a foul to be committed.
McM with 11 rushes for 81 yards and passes for 101. Awesome game.
OC’s called a good game, McM with some nice running g, one great one where he had a great fake, pulled the ball back, and got what, 20+ yards.
It’s almost like the coaches held back on McM keeping the ball on the read option until the Civil War. It was used the most and by far the most effective today.
Good point
Exactly what my dad and I were saying at the game.
OSU got fucked out of two possesions, still win…
There we go…. season is all good now!!!! Win two more next year!!! Yes !!!!
Nall and O-Line were awesome. Unsung heroes were Mcmaryion and Artavis Peirce with some huge runsto keep drives going and fire up the crowd and the team
310 rushing yards. The O-line has to get “players of the game”.
Nall was amazing but I think the hogs had a chip on their shoulder as a unit.
LOL celebrate 4 AND 8..?!..?. Whuut?
You people are lifetime losers! ;-(
ROTFLMAO!!!! LOL FU
THIS HAS NO FUTURE.
TRASH CANS
No, we’re celebrating this win.
Derp.
Scoreboard chump.
Keep it coming punk. But there’s nothing you can say or do to change what just happened. You got knocked the fuck out!
Awwwww….he’s butthurt, have fun with Helfrich cause your not getting Herman. Next year maybe you can match the fuskey in an 0-12 season.
I saw a PDF of Helfrich’s contract and there’s a clause in it that if he wins 5 games or less two seasons in a row they can fire him with no buyout. If he doesn’t get canned in the next week my bet is they’re counting on it.
The bottom line is they will never find another Chip Kelly. I think he has the best winning % in college football history.
…..Looked it up, and he’s second only to Knute Rockne…
Whoever they hire will fail compared to those standards. Chip was a GREAT coach. Once in a lifetime guy.
What happened with DeCouds pick in the end zone on 3rd down on the Ducks last drive? Looked clearly in bounds from my POV. Am I wrong?
He dropped it as he went to the ground. I think. That’s what I saw.
Yeah, when he hit the ground it popped out.
Got it, thanks. Missed it live. Just one more in a long string of balls that should have been picked today
Yep.
Finally after three civil war losses in a row, redemption in Corvallis.
Coaching staff does not abandon the run.
This team has toughness and is gaining in talent/skill.
Despite two really bad calls, we prevail.
Solid game plan today.
Great day for recruiting as long as the rain doesn’t scare them away.
We beat Oregon at their game running. Pierce and Nall look great.
Not a good day for Bolden. I appreciate him but sketchy at times.
Great day for the seniors. Thanks guys. Harlow should be the MVP for
the season. Unselfish. Nall was great but Harlow solidified the line.
Game ends up 34-24. Angry calls it 31-21. Nice.
Excited for the future.
Agree. Harlow’s debut this year was right around the Cal game, and right around when our run game was born. He was instrumental this year and we will miss him.
I thought I typed eight in a row. Damn phone.
Great ducking win! Overcame some terrible officiating and the typical untimely Bolden mishap to pull off a gritty win. Should build some nice recruiting momentum and good energy heading in to Spring Ball.
Hopefully QB is Marcus’ job to loose.
Now let’s see some commitments.
Parker on the post game show alluded to some recruiting/commitment news is expected in the next 24 hours or less.
Also, saw that GA has a 5:30am flight tomorrow to hit the recruiting trail. Gotta close those deals tonight before heading out.
What?!? A coach that doesn’t have to go recover for a month in the middle of no-where Texas immediately following the season! That doesn’t sound Riley-esque
Is Clune headed to Hawai’i for a couple weeks too?
Is raining like hell in So cal! Feel like I’m back in Corvallis
It’s awesome, no?
This is hilarious:
https://twitter.com/BeavRecruiting/status/802680057080619008
Too bad I couldnt spell “and”
Kind of makes it even funnier. I can picture that flying defender saying it as he derps through the air.
It got a RT from coach lockett
Should be lots of great shots from today. There was a site with high quality beaver football photos a year or two back, vwill have to try and find it and see if it’s still active.
OLÉ!!!! MOTHERFUCKER.
Beavs are going to finish 4th in the North, right? Cal can’t jump them even if they win tonight.
I love how the Beavs owned the 4th quarter. That’s a big role reversal. This team does not quit and does not cower. GA’s influence was on display today big time. Can’t help but think a Riley team would have wilted in the 4th.
Agreed. Us scoring 20 unanswered points was big and I didn’t except that. Loved seeing run it play after play. The Ducks couldn’t stop the run. McM running today was great and perfectly timed today as some else said earlier.
Despite the weather, throwing the ball off of “play action” the D did not respect at all…
Angry you hit the fucking nail on the head with your prediction.
Thanks, man.
I just got back from the game and it seemed as the rain started to fall the game turned around. What a fun game. It felt like the game was over when the by the beavers was over turned due to the PI call but the beavers held in there a took win and rammed the ball down the ducks throat. One guys in the stands was so funny best line all year
” hey ducks you must like stuffing because we are going to stuff you the run” it was great
Identity FFFFOUND!
I’m not sure why on the post game they’re also saying Pierce is faster than Nall. Not true from what I see. They’re also saying Pierce has “shimmy”. Nall is not just a downhill runner. He dances around and jukes just fine. It’s weird that because Nall bowls people over everyone assumes he’s just a downhill runner. He’s a breakaway runner, a juker, and he can bowl people over.
Nall was most elusive per PFF as of a few weeks ago. Made a few people whiff today as well
https://twitter.com/PFF_College/status/795842060519702528
He keeps his shoulders turned up field, and moves laterally then forward again with surprising dexterity and quickness and defenders seem to buy into the more limited description of his abilities. Fine. 5 YPC on the season, power, breakaway speed, can catch…
If he stays healthy, could be best since Jackson, better top end speed than Quizzz, equal or better tough and elusive style, reliability. Has he fumvled yet?
Fumbled once last week and recovered it himself. It was a bad handoff but they charged it to him.
If Nall and Pierce raced 100 yards, Pierce would win.
Good race….I dunno…Pierce quicker start, Nall better top end? Nall also runs faster in response to being chased…
Splitting carries between them will be a nice problem to have.
Angry called Pierce best in the class, “SEC-type w/better speed.” In a year or teo, he’ll be a game changing, best of PAC rb alongside Nall. They’ll make life easier for McM or Luton….
Yeah I like Pierce don’t get me wrong, but I think Pierce is a little slower than Nall. At least in pads and in real game situations. Both are good all around backs who can do everything well. Nall is a better, though.
Lol found this on twitter.
https://mobile.twitter.com/snaporegon/status/802667002678558720
From the Oregon Ducks Wikipedia article right now:
“Nike co-founder Ryan Nall ran in the University of Oregon Track & Field program under the other Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman.”
Post game presser. GA compliments McMaryion again this week for his smart play utilizing the game clock and says that was the plan all along. I don’t recall how many times many of us stated the way to beat the ducks was with a ball control offense that eats up clock keeping their offense off the field. They’re going to score points, don’t panic and stick to the gameplan. Who’d a thunk it? Don’t need to throw the ball all over the field to beat a team like that (RiLLLLey). Granted these aren’t CK’s ducks anymore
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw90a6f8nGs
Chuckie Keaton somehow involved with the QBs. Wonder if he’s been pushing McM to run more. McM looked pretty natural running today.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BNS8BnZhVmR/
Going to hear a lot of “Yeah, but…”s from the Duck fans (what’s left of them). This was the ultimate big fat cherry on top of their shitty season sundae:)
Already heard the “well you’re still only 4-8, and act like it’s the superbowl”. It’s a rivalry game, apperantly you don’t understand what that means.
Oh yeah, Duck fans will downplay the rivalry now. “It’s just another game.” Ok, if that makes you feel better about the loss :)
Their REAL rivalry is UW. Oh wait….
Pretty funny tweet from Nick Mitchell…………

Congrats to my @BeaverFootball boys today. What a way to send out the senior class with a #CivilWar W!
How do I get a Nall jersey?
Sorry to go OT for a minute on such a joyous day, but as Beaver fans, see below. Tres broke a bone on his non-shooting wrist. Surgery possible.
http://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2016/11/tres_tinkle_breaks_bone_in_non.html
He’s breaking bones every year.
That man needs to drink more milk.
So glad the Beavs won today, it’s going to be a long basketball season.
Does “luck o’ da beavs” transfer between sports?
Can’t we just trap it somewhere like rowing?
I think it lingers in varsity sports only. Unless that’s a varsity sport?

#trumpworld
Where the hell did that come from? We’re trying to enjoy a victory here :p
It’s simple. The new normal makes shit like this passe. That’s Trump’s world. You don’t like it?
Fuck off and die, wuss.
I could have just said “false narratives” and meant the exact same thing.
Alphas can’t take what they dish. Boo hoo whaaaa! Bunch of dumb whiny wussies they are. At least they have King Pepe the Orange of Tool to lead them with their real narratives.
Nike’s rumored uniform update may be replete with “big boy pants” now, no elastic in waist, and uni features orange cleats with metallic green and yellow on soles from “running over Ducks…”
Great play calling and execution. Followed the game plan and ran it down their throats. Really like mcmaryion with the keepers. I think at some points he was surprised to be as open as he was. Nall and pierce with some huge runs. Pierce was critical because he was able to spell Nall for a series without any change in running success. It’s going to take a helluva QB to overcome McM as starter.
Really sucks that beavs aren’t going bowling. I think they’d have a real good shot at winning too.
Glad to see this win for the seniors. GA has definitely instilled his philosophy on this team.
#GoBeavs!
The good play calling was evident with Bolden not touching the ball after his fumble.
So true. Wishing him the best of luck in his future endeavors and not looking back!
Canzano on Helfrich:
Helfrich didn’t do anything his way after Chip Kelly. Helfrich operated like a guy who was watching the neighbor’s house while they were on vacation somewhere. He fed the dog. He turned the sprinklers on and off. He picked up the newspaper and mail. But he never made it his house.
Thank you for proving the man has one metaphor in a sea of sludge… waiting for a dog to turn the sprinkler on the… do you know what that sound is princess?

Beavergophers worst nightmare lol
Fucking Leidner. Jesus H Christ.
After finally calling down a bit, I’ve gathered some thoughts,
1. The weather dramatically changed the flow of the game into the beavers favor.
2. If I’m Oregon, I’m wondering how they didn’t put the game away in the third.
3. The team showed a lot of heart in the 4th quarter.
4. I think it’s fair to say the beavs didn’t benefit from any bad calls.
Great win for the program. MM will be the starting qb at the beginning of next season. The other guys need to push him hard though.
Still a lot of work to compete at the top of the conference.
Just me, or are startin to hav a log jam at qb?
Marcus McMary….. Leader goin into nxt yr?
D Garretson…..better leader, coaches fav?
Jake Luton……could he redshirt nxt year?
Blount…..Why was he ahead of Marcus?
Moran……..will he pass blount?
Incoming frosh to redshirt
Luton is a 2 for 2 guy.
I think McM and Luton vie for starting job next year. Mason gets more time to grow, strengthen arm, Garretson becomes a valuable back up with game experience, running ability.
I bet McM gets voted to captain in spring ball, Garretson out as captain. Nall too likely gets voted to captain.
I’m not so sure of that. I’m paraphrasing, but there was even a quote from GA today about “seeing how long they will have to play offense this way”. GA does not think McM is the answer, but he may not need an answer, he just needs a competent game manager for now. GA also said somewhere that a P-12 offense needs to score 40 points a game to win consistently. McM isn’t GA’s choice, but maybe they are stuck with each other for the time being?
McM should transfer, imo.
He’s a good player. Might not be great, but he’s good and has upside yet. If GA doesn’t think he’s the answer he should tell him and not string him along.
If he can get a scholarship offer from a school with better academics, maybe. I doubt he’s thinking of getting to the NFL. The best thing about football for him is the scholarship.
It may be unfortunate that McM didn’t get an opportunity until the other QBs were injured, but he now has a resume of league play and empirical results. He helped break the CW 8-year losing streak. Its hard for anyone to unmake that or to go backwards to someone demonstrably less effective.
I think he ought to work his ass off during the offseason and come back with a stated goal of starting.
You’re going to need to link the words and actions to your assumptions before I stop thinking you’re a looney tune.
I know… too much to ask.
I’d like to see Andersen’s quotes to that effect. He has said he is considering an “air raid” approach, and it looks like the recruiting class could have quite a few promising WRs.
But you’ve got two more years of Nall (maybe 1?), Pierce for 2 – 3 more, Green and others in the pipeline, and west side, late season Oregon weather. Does he really want to get that far away from a run game? Not that a team can’t run out of those spread passing attacks, but that seems like a solution to a personnel issue OSU doesn’t have anymore (lack of rb depth, lack of run-blocking lineman).
There was a time an air raid approach sounded interesting when Riley clearly wanted to throw, wouldn’t commit to the run game, and run blocking seemed to suffer as a result, and it felt like OSU needed at least ONE coach with some aggression.
But with some of the early discontinuity in the program – Sitake > Clune, Baldwin > Dual OCs, I hope a major offensive change isn’t in the works. I think the OC approach needs to settle out, and the WRs need to contribute consistently. Not to mention the ability to have at least a two-deep of TEs, which has been lacking most of the year.
Agree OSU needs to score more points and more consistently. But 34 points in yesterday’s weather is nothing to scoff at. Take away the weather, add some WRs who can separate and catch, a couple of healthy TEs, and OSU gets beyond 40. Then they have to do it against good+ defenses….
I think helfrich is done at Oregon. More so because of his lack of hiring on defense. Failed to replace Aliotti with anyone decent . That’s where he really came up short. Had the talent but not the coaching on that side of the ball. Helfrich won’t be out of a job for long, but won’t be a head coach at a power 5 for a while.
Let’s hope not. I want a complete melt down in eugene, like no more sellouts, guys transfering, guys decommiting. Then if he fuck it up bad and gets canned mid season, Hoke takes over and runs it into the ground for the rest of the season. It’s only fair…….for such a nice group of young men.
Um… Aliotti… good… replace… wtf?
Aliotti was never good. Okay… he was almost decent when he had one giant NT playing for him. Otherwise, he had Ds who didn’t let the opponent score more than 40 ppg.
I say this with all sincerity.
Banker is a better DC than Aliotti.
And if you don’t know what I think of Banker’s abilities, then you probably don’t want to know.
Thank you Nebraska! Great job by GA and the team, Drinking a Not the Stoic that I stashed away a couple years ago to celebrate the next CW win. Ya baby!

They just need more jimmies, or was it Joe’s?
They need to bring their jimmies/joes to Corvallis in the next year or two before Smilin’ Gum Chewer is fired…God I wish OSU could schedule a non-con with NU before Riley’s gone….
Get that game on the schedule for Nall’s senior season!
It’s so classic. Little do they know 9 wins is the high water mark and it’s all downhill once these dipshits start playing their own recruits and especially a new qb.
I just don’t get where Nebraska fans thought Riley was going to be any kind of coaching break through. I understand that they didn’t want Pelini to embarass the program anymore (and that makes sense), but to expect Riley to get them back to past glory is just not paying attention to college football.
For that last freaking time, Riley and his staff had talent at Oregon St. and actually UNDER ACHIEVED at times due to his prep, planning and in game managment. Get that through your thick skulls!
They won’t. They still think he went there because they’re a blue blood, and we’re a flailing nobody of a shit stain. They have to ignore that Riley didn’t go to USC… and that the program they think is a flailing shit stain is that way because of a guy who was in charge of it having zero vision and less effort… for 12 years.
They also think Langsdorf went to the NYG because he is that good… not nepotism and finding safe haven from OSU fans and admin.
Riles should have stayed now that OSU is a “safe haven”.
Pussies allowed
You have it backward.
Pussies are not allowed anymore. But I’m sure we’ll hear their incessant whining about how it’s just sooooo unfair for them to have to be accountable for the things they say and do.
They’re a bunch of fucking whiny pussies when there are consequences involved. And I love the varying flavors of their crocodile tears.

In what world do you live?
Don’t answer that. I’m sure all of Phil Knight’s words and actions are meaningless once someone whips out his net worth to finish whatever argument is being had. That’s how bizarro world has come to pass.
Fucking whore…marketing…his school and the whole uniform thing was a way into the college marketplace and then the NFL. He’s more proud of Ohio State than UO? Wow.
Most of the UO fanbase is SO delusional, they have no idea how their biggest booster views the school.
Think Urban Meyer would come to Eugene for $10M?
Shows how bad it is to ONE donor. Too much power.
@Angry. You should revisit the preseason picks and predictions. I got the the four wins and CW victory correct. Things are looking up at OSU.
I picked four wins on the year. Took crap from some Duck fans at work for it. I did pick us to win the civil war to get to 4 wins. Should be interesting at work on Monday.
Beavs are 4th in the North and 7th in Pac12 overall?
Prediction for 2017:
Beavs have more wins than Oregon, Nebraska
I think the oline coaches have done an incredible job from the off-season to the civil war, considering all of the retirements/attrition from injuries they suffered.
Clune is a major improvement over what we saw from Banker and Sitake. I’m excited for what is coming.
Power running, explosive playmakers and a stifling physical defense=wins
This might be the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on twitter.
https://twitter.com/snaporegon/status/802667002678558720/photo/1
Strongly suspect quacks will hire PJ Fleck. With that win at all costs BS stunt he is alleged to have pulled, utterly screwing over the WMU commits when he first arrived, he will fit right in.
I researched him last night, and his biggest win is either Northwestern or the Bahamas Bowl…he’d fit in better at Lincoln than Eugene. Those poor bastards II.
I just read some rumor-stuff that Notre Dame will go after Fleck hard if Brian Kelly bails. If that happens the Ducks will possibly look into the “other Kelly”. I’m not sure what’s going on at Notre Dame, kind of sounds like Kelly has given up on the program.
But they may want to manage the perception that they’re hiring the hot hand, the up-and-coming next thing…they can’t market Helfrich. And as you said, they don’t appreciate how unique Chip Kelly was; it wasn’t just his offense and pace, it was his focus, attention to detail, his constant competitive drive.
UO has the resources to regain relevancy, but it may not be quick turnaround unless Knight could pull someone like Saban or Meyer away with his “$10M” offer and whatever long term Nike benefits they get. They still have plenty of offensive talent, but its the D that’s going to take longer to correct.
Exactly, Chip’s hyperfocus/OCD and attention to detail were once in a generation. He coached like a cult leader, totally getting everyone to buy in to every word he spoke along with the ideas of grandeur. It worked. Master motivator day in and out. And that’s what great coaches are, because all of them know the Xs and Os.
Oregon thinks they can just hire a guy who runs the spread and get back to glory. Nope. They need to find a master motivator, and there are very few out there. Luckily we have one of the few. Odds they try for GA? lol..??? :/
Point taken on CK and his offense but here’s a counterpoint…………..
Statistically? Oregon’s D was average at best under Aliotti (Duck fans referred to him as Allowalotti). Oregon would put the clamps on with the up tempo offense and getting opponents behind early and panic. We all saw it over and over and over again. Those defenses gambled quite a bit. They could. They usually were ahead. When other team would panic and abandon the running game, they would feast. It’s a bend but don’t break strategy that worked due to CK’s offense.
Another counterpoint is that Oregon could run up tempo all day long and the could not substitute and eventually wore out. I don’t remember what year but that is no longer the case. If the offense substitutes, the defense is allowed to do the same and the referee will stand over the ball not allowing the offense to run a play. That negates an advantage they once had. Track athletes in open space against tired opponents = success and big plays.
Angry is spot on that CK was/is a brilliant mind. In college football. Doesn’t work and won’t in the pro’s where every player is big, talented and fast (unless you are the brownstains. Fuck Cleveland.) He was a once in a lifetime coach that every other coach will be unfairly compared to in Eugene. The wet dream is CK comes back. He failed in Philly and the forty whiners are a tire fire. That isn’t his fault but he chose to be in SF. He hated recruiting and schmoozing boosters. But things/feelings can change and maybe he might realize his system is best utilized in the the college ranks. I don’t see any names out there that the Ducks could bring in that would change their fortunes overnight. Saban isn’t coming. Neither is Urbs. But money does talkand PK does have a shitload of it. Stay tuned
No, they never played great D in terms of stopping people. But Kelly compensated for that by challenging his D to get TOs and score and his special teams to score. And they did.
When I say the D turnaround is going to take time, I mean for two years its been atrocious. Hoke will be gone with Helfrich. There willl be a new coach, maybe a new system, new terminology, and they’ll need a bunch of pampered kids (see UO players’ remarks throughout this year) to buy in, toughen up, and provide leadership. Then they’ll need to execute, avoid injury problems, recruit, etc. I’d say that puts them at 2019 at the earliest, which would be Herbert’s senior year. Between now and then there’s likely some mediocre bowl games.
On the offensive side, they’ve got the speed and I think they’re set a QB for three more years unless a total new system is brought in.
But they won’t get back to the Kelly level unless their D and ST are scoring, and/or they develop a D that can actually stop people. Which in NCAA football seems like a thing of the past for most.
Complaints of a lack of innovation, uninspired…competitors catching up…Ducks football?
Possibly more troubling for Nike is the sentiment that its pipeline of hot new products has run dry. “I don’t see a whole lot of mis-execution at Nike,” said analyst Andrew Burns of D.A. Davidson. “What I hear from the critics is a lack of innovation, newness. Flyknit, (a groundbreaking footwear technology) has been around for four years. It was great. But you can’t take credit for that forever.”
Camilo Lyon, an analyst with Canaccord Genuity, echoed those sentiments, calling Nike’s new products “weak and uninspiring.”
http://www.oregonlive.com/business/index.ssf/2016/11/nike_still_in_the_lead_but_los.html
Of course Nike is still in the lead and Ducks football is not, but I found some of these parallels amusing. Chip Kelly = Flyknit? Apparently the Mariota Sports Performance Center didn’t, well, perform.
Flyknit and primeknit don’t correct the crap “technologies” that are the soles of these shoes. But they do lead to a correction of the soulless labor abuses that created their billions of dollars of profits over the years. Now they can automate production of plastic socks attached to foam souls with a glue gun.
But don’t tell me some neato story about how the idea was inspired. We already know.
https://www.amazon.com/Make-My-Day-BG1010-Sandals/dp/B00A785NOS
You know they’re trying to apply the “new” tech to the production of their plastic clothes as well… wait… knitting in the round is not new tech? You can just knit your own sock then dip it in that can of rubber stuff you see on TV.
This does inform you of the future. The only newness of it all is the proprietary software.
http://fortune.com/2015/12/15/3d-printed-shoe-race/
LOVED that W! Great predictions Angry.
Didn’t want to mention it before the game but Marcus posted the #5 espn top game qbr this season as of Thursday; definitely want to see him confident and competitive in spring camp. His keepers made Nalls job easier. Loved pierces effort in relief of nall. If only we had Nall (and Marcus) all season.
Just my opinion, I think one of keys for the Beavs in 2017 will be improving the run defense to take another step (bowl eligibility). They forced some key fumbles, but you can’t always count on that. Statistically, it was bad. A few more stops this year and the Beavs could have been 6-6.
Yes the run D does need to improve but keep in mind the numbers of injuries on the defensive side of the ball this season. Quite a few true frosh had to step in and play. Big picture thinking though, as the young pups got experience, more offseason conditioning and training and more talented recruits will provide better depth for next year.
That aside my biggest concern for next season is O line. 3 seniors played their last game yesterday. Yes there are a few “big boys” that are committed (we shall see on signing day in February), there’s probably more the coaching staff would like to get.
My early prediction for next season is this team wins 6-7 games (but is capable of winning 8). Only road non conference game is at Colorado State and Minnesota will be at Reser with a green QB.
Slowly the culture of the program is turning from complacency. Next season there will only be a handful of Riley recruit leftovers. And if they’re still here it means they’ve probably bought in. I expect a bowl game next season. Continued patience. We’re starting to see the transformation. Albeit slowly.
How bout them Buffs? Worst to first. With GA and this staff I don’t see any reason the same thing can’t or won’t happen here.
Ain’t it great waking up the day after a civil war win? Go Beavs!
True, and I think they will. With more time under Clune, some experience gained on the DL, and healthy LBs, the run D should improve markedly. The current, quality CBs and the incoming JC CBs should give them some flexibility up front as well.
I’m not sure where the run D ranked or what the final stats looked like, but just based on observation they were aggressive tackling, missed far fewer tackles, and were in the backfield more than in the past. I noticed it Game 1 vs MN and it never letup except vs WA and CO (tough games, so it’s understandable). Even in the WA and CO games they gave effort while losing. Their tackling just wasn’t as good.
Considering the influx of bodies and most key guys are returning, I think they’ll be fine. Also, GA is much more about D and hands-on there. I’d say it should be low on the list of concerns.
Clune’s D seems so much better than Sitake’s, btw. Small sample, but it’s night and day. Some of that might be players buying in completely this year.
Ranked 102nd out of 128 teams.
There were a couple of duck drives (scoring drives) that the defense looked like they were on there heals. Thank god they collected themselves and dug in. When they came out from the half and scored after our 3 and out the game could have gotten away from us very easily.
Some of that’s on the offense, remember when we couldn’t pass our way out of a box? Part of that was game-plan (Cal win). Need the offense to provide rest to the d. Three losses by one score or less… Better injury luck and efficient offense and we could have had 7 wins.
and if my Aunt had balls she’d be my uncle.
The cal game could have just as easily been a loss. The bottom line is this team and program got better as the season progressed. No blowouts after the game in Boulder. Despite the injuries. Would they have been better with McMaryion as QB from day 1? Maybe. But would he have lasted the entire season? Unknown.
I’ll admit this coaching staff has a few warts but they grew up and adjusted late in the season too and played to the teams strength . I’ll take GA and his “buddies” 10 out of 10 times against Riley and his lazy misfits.
If that genius Dykes had decided not to pass the ball 40 times with an injured QB that game may have had a different result.
not sure if you’ve watched Cal football. Chucking the ball all over the field is their MO under Dykes.
Bear Raid (word play on AIR RAID). Psssst. Dykes figured it out too late in that game.
Of course, I watched the game. That was my point, he figured it out too late. Smart coaches figure it out early sometimes, right?
YOU
“remember when we couldn’t pass our way out of a box?”
ME
“I’ll admit this coaching staff has a few warts but they grew up and adjusted late in the season too and played to the teams strength.”
But then you brought up another coaching staff’s inability to adjust? Not trying to start a whip out our dongs war here but my point remains the same. Good coaches adjust. Maybe they didn’t earlier in the season when they could have but even if they had, your 7 wins prediction remains just that. Conjecture. We don’t have Saban or Urban Meyer. Or the same players. Never have, never will. What we DO have is a coaching staff that demands more of themselves and student athletes. We DIDN’T have that two years ago.
Are you talking to me? I think I said I’d be happy with six wins and I don’t think I ever made any comments about “passing their way out of the box”. I was basically saying I don’t think Sonny Dykes is that great of a coach. GA is a very good coach.
I wrote the first quote; you’re right it could have been 1-2 wins with worse luck and less adjustments by the coaching staff. I like this staff now, much better than what we had; I was doubtful the first year and first half of this season. Hopefully he qb picture is better evaluated next year.
Correct. My bad Mckalk, mixed up your response with burrito’s
It gets confusing when some of these reply and responses go on for awhile.
Wonder if the ducks would try Rich Rod?
He got Arizona to the Pac12 championship. This year was an anomoly due to key injuries. I could see Arizona and him parting ways because of fan pressure, and he might be the best option available to oregon.
Personally I would not be satisfied with merely 6 wins and barely bowl eligible next year. True improvement would net at least 8wins, which is my basement for acceptability next year. This season there were 6 games that we could have won. That’s a 10 win season:
First we need to win a road game. Then you can talk about 8 win seasons.
that’ll happen next fall. Guaranteed. Write down that prediction now
I don’t doubt that. I think that’s the next great hurdle this team needs to accomplish.
I’d agree with that.
This year’s hurdles were a Pac win, back to back wins and a CW win
Interesting that some of our coaches are headed to Seattle today as part of their recruiting road trip. Nobody up there that we’ve really seen connected to OSU in this class, although Foster Sarell and Connor Weddington are up there.
I actually think we have been recruiting Weddinton all along, although it’s beem quiet, and Sarell is a can’t miss guy who you have to try at least.
Or maybe seattle is just for a connecting flight. Hmmm…
Appreciate all your inside scoop Nicebeaver, are you Football Director of Operations for the Beavs or what?
A small tribute to you
https://youtu.be/zhyCL-ELRxg
What am I doing wrong when I post the link, how come the video itself doesn’t show?
Thought the defense played average but good in key points of the game. I saw some key stops on 3rd down, where Banker’s D would have folded. Also, the tackles for loss in first down were huge and set the tone for the rest of the defensive series. These are good signs going forward.
Thank god for the CW win. @ angry. Fifth year senior Mitch put on a show for the ages in the second half in the battle for the Axe. Started with a ten point lead and a pick in the endzone.
#acidreflux.
12 – Consecutive passes thrown by Minnesota quarterback Mitch Leidner that were either incomplete or intercepted in the third and fourth quarters. Two picks in nineteen seconds!
But he’s got NFL potential! : )
Haha. He’s the worst NCAA QB I’ve ever seen.
Yup. What a shit show.
Not sure why some dudes on here disliked Goff in the NFL.
3TDs at halftime in his 2nd start.

That’s too bad. Those backwards punts were fun.
Somebody had to be the sacrificial lamb…. Bruce is not part of the inner alliance.
How can he not be? He’s been paid millions without earning it over the years. Did he even take part in recruiting beyond giving Chris Sailer a call every year?
nice observation captain “after the fact” asshat obvious
#sprulva
Took Riley 20 years to figure out Reed is a waste of 250k, though he probably just wanted to make his bud rich off State funds. Teet suckin’ Riley — he should move to Omaha with the ultimate teet sucker.
Read was making $450,000 a year at nebraska.
Haha!
Those poor bastards, pun intended.
Read still has a spot at the San Antone retirement ranch, he will just be living alone there for at least a year until the rest join him.
Odds on him ending up at:
1. New Orleans
2. Cleveland
3. NYG
Unfortunately, Riley was allowed to get away with it at OSU because of the low expectations from the administration, some of geriatric donor and fan base and the media.. We all warned him that this bullshit wasn’t going to play at Nebraska. Riley was hired to win division and conference titles and be in the playoff discussion immediately.. Banker will be next year, unless it’s Riley himself.
It’s very possible Riley is gone next year. I thought 3 years, so I’m sticking with that. He’ll have to break in a new QB and many other positions. They won’t be very good unless that QB is a unique talent. Let’s say they win 6 games. Likely given how weak that conference is. Will he be canned? Probably. Though, I bet some apologists will say he was breaking in so many new players, yada yada. It will be interesting to see which faction’s voice wins out. I like Riley at Nebraska because it gives me a 2nd game to watch on Saturday’s.
You watch them?
I still have PTSD from that shit. I like running on 3rd & 2. It helps with the healing process.
I like watching them. It’s comedy gold.
The continued blow out losses in important games are what is really pissing off Nebraska fans. It was Pelini’s MO and it reared it’s ugly head again this season. With Nebraska’s facilities and tradition, they can get 9 wins almost any year in the Big 10 West, but Riley can’t lose by 30 to Iowa in a game that mattered at the start of the day. Really, they just should have given Solich a second chance or got him to rehab.
“I like Riley at Nebraska because it gives me another game to watch on Saturdays”
Same. I have family in Nebraska and visited for the first time a couple of years ago. Nebraska Football is huge there. Not much else going on. Now that Riley is there it makes games that much more interesting.
I am greatful that he revived OSU football. But the game passed him by. He’s tired and should retire. I am watching all the same tendencies that we saw with His coaching at OSU. Like Jack says its PTSD trying to root for Nebraska.
I would like for him do well there and it’s sad to watch the demise.
On a more positive note the future of OSU football looks bright with Andersen.
Oh, well I want him to fail at Nebraska, because he set expectations low at OSU just so he could meet them. He’s a man of excuses and lowering expectations. He really did OSU a disservice after 2009. That Civil War was the end. He stuck around 5 more years and ran the program into the ground while making excuses that the media ran with, and are now getting blown up by GA. Fuck him
I don’t think he consciously ran the program into the ground. It was more that he got too comfortable and thought he could do the same thing he always had done and still be successful. He relied too much on his system and a couple talented players. Aside from the fly sweep there was no new innovation in five plus years. Personally I don’t wish for anyone to fail. Ducks being the exception.
He was making $360k here… and probably joining Banker whenever the latter went “recruiting” in Hawai’i.
But… but… *sniff*… loyalty?
there’s no tenure in Lincoln for underperformance
In all seriousness, Riley had to have understood that going into the job, right? 3 or 4 losses in Lincoln is average.
I know it’s a little out there, but he and his cronies are not getting any younger, it had to be a financial play that was hard to pass up also.
“In all seriousness, Riley had to have understood that going into the job, right? 3 or 4 losses in Lincoln is average.”
Let’s ask Bo Pelini or Frank Solich about that. Guaranteed they’d look past their shortcomings for a national championship. 9-3 isn’t good enough for children of the corn. Delusional fan base indeed.
Tom Osborne isn’t coming back. Riley made his own bed. Here and there. Fuck him. Enjoy it. He deserves it for a fitting end to his career
It some ways though it’s hard to blame Riley, if NU was stupid enough to hire him…………….
This had to be via an ultimatum from the AD.
I think there’s some irony in the fact that it was reported that BDC asked Riley to make some changes and he basically pouted and was then “bailed out” by the NU offer and now he’s being a good soldier and making staff changes.
Owens to transfer

There was blurb on O-Live that he had graduated and was not coming back. I took it to mean that the other kickers were going to beat him out next year?
Saw that on twitter. Good news as far as I’m concerned.
addition by subtraction.
#ohwell. The kid had become a liability this year.
Also fitting that he missed his last PAT…..
Go to Nebraska kid.
I admit that I could’nt help but check out Nebraska games and post game chatter when I could but not so much with BYU. I see BYU is 8-4 playing with (mostly)Mendenhall’s players (mostly grown men) against what looks on paper like a pretty robust schedule.
So my question is: given the state of each program that each coach inherited, how would you compare/grade Sitake, Riley and Andersen’s seasons? Just curious what you fellows think.
I haven’t watched one BYU game. Sitake was overrated everywhere I saw him, though. GA spoke highly of him, so I’m open to being wrong, but I’m going by what I saw.
I’d rather have Sitake over Riley for sure, so BYU is in better shape.
Any chance they play each other in a bowl?
BYU/Nebraska? I don’t think it matches with the tie-ins. I did see Nebraska/Utah as a possible projection, which would be the “Delusional Fan Base Bowl”
only in your deluded shroom mind Eugene boy
Mmmm… deluded shrooms.
Interesting question. I would watch for sure. Any word on the mission kids from the first Andersen recruits? I had seen the same question earlier this week but did not see any answer. Hoping they do not all chase Sitake to Provo. I have Folau and Kotoa in mind specifically.
Disregard Katoa, for some reason I thought he was a 2015/16 commit.
Folau will follow Tolutau. NB thinks Zach (sp?) and maybe even Thor will also follow.
Mission kids from Andersen’s first OSU class (2015) are still on their missions, so not much is known about them (Folau, Katoa, Sharpe)
Folau was seen at BYU’s spring game this past year though, so that would indicate at least sime interest in BYU.
Ula Tolutau was a Wisconsin 2014 commit, and sounds like he’s down to BYU/Utah, although a recent Deseret News story said he’s still considering OSU and Utah State visits. I wouldnt count on it.
Recruiting article up. Haven’t read it yet.

Bruce Read fired today
Pearl Harbor was bombed.
We landed on the moon!
Fuck Mike Riley. He’s known for years that Bruce Read sucks, but he refused to do anything about it at Oregon State. Fuck that guy, he seriously thought he was better than Corvallis, better than Oregon State, better than our fan base. What a colossal piece of shit.
Also, we all know the ‘nice guy Mike RIley’ thing is a massive charade, right?
It’s amazing what can happen when you’re actually made to feel accountable for results.
And so it begins. Not that damning of an article, but I liked the title.

Does anyone know where I can watch a replay of the CW game?
No I do not. But someone please post so that we can share it with the Uck recruits hinting at decommitting.
Had eggs benedict and schadenfreude for breakfast. Now Hefeweisen, pollo asado and schadenfreude for lunch. Looking forward to dinner.
Try some foie gras too!
PAC 12 channel has is on 10:30 pm Monday.
Thanks, BB. Is that a full replay or a 60 minute recap?
#500!!
