    • Allen, Taylor, and Tyler are very nice additions to the offense. I think they may have become under-appreciated by some because of the infatuation with the likes of Calvin.

Green would have been great with his speed, but Tyler is a very good addition. His one-or-two cut moves followed by a 50+ yard TD run are the kind of things an OLineman has to like. No, he won’t get long runs all the time in DI, but lineman will still appreciate him as will the fans I think.

Also like Jack’s suggestion that maybe Morris move to RB to provide depth.

      • I think Morris is good enough to challenge Pierce but lose out to him because Pierce knows the system. Morris’ patience and vision are just outstanding. And his speed, balance and feet are deceiving.

Calvin is a change of pace back who can eat space quickly. I can’t get a read on him because he just runs from one open space to another as if the seas open for him. I’m always afraid these highlight tapes transfer to Damian Haskins-like skills at this level. But maybe his feel for running to the open space is real. But that’s a trait that few players have. And it’s rare that someone with speed also has it.

I can’t get enough of Allen. He can be a great receiver or back or both.

        • Lockette has Baylor at 6′, 190#. Everything I saw had him at 5’10” and between 170 and 180#.

That size difference would alter my perception of him quite a bit.

  1. A lot of LOI rolling in now.

Onesimus Lutu-Clarke has a decent offer sheet for a 2 star. Byu, Nevada, Hawaii, Boise State. Not bad. Good size. I haven’t watched him yet.

    • Lutu-Clarke is the most polished T of the group. He’s balanced and moves well laterally. And he has good technique. Optimally, he will redshirt. But he is possibly the best short term option we have for starting in the fall if he’s conditioned. I’m not sure where they get the two stars on him. He was arguably the best lineman in Hawai’i last season.

      • And Woods says he’s going to be an interior lineman. He looks to me like the best lateral blocker coming in. Mackay has a better drop step and punch. But Lutu-Clarke can maintain leverage without holding while moving sideways.

He also has Cordasco as a T. I see him as more of a drive or pull blocking G and good in pass pro if he’s blocking interior lanes.

  2. See that Morris on with Canzano at 1 pm, that’s pretty good exposure for OSU as in-state radio audience will hear from a pretty highly sought in-state recruit that chose OSU.

  3. Flemings listed at 5’6″ and 150 pounds, which means he’s like 140 and likely an inch shorter.

I wonder how tall his parents are. Maybe he just hasn’t hit his growth spurt yet…

  4. More just a general comment:

One attribute I’ve picked up on during the interviews with the coaching staff is that many of them carry the same… feeling? Presence? Similar to Coach Andersen when he has been interviewed.

Not all may necessarily have a personality that is outgoing that engages the camera well? They may not necessarily fill air space with a lot of words, but when they do speak, they come across as being rather straight-forward? They don’t mince words?

For me, I find this appealing; I think this factors into decisions some of these recruits make.

  5. Overall looks like a pretty good class got recruited. It just has a better feel to it than a Riley class for sure. Sounds like we may be ranked in the 40’s for recruiting class in the nation. Does anyone how many teams they put into the rankings? 40th out of ____ teams.

  6. Pretty average class, don’t understand all the excitement. Couldn’t close on any big names down the stretch. Sad. No worries though, baseball is whats most important at OSU anyways.
