Stating a prediction now that Oregon State will never win a P5 road game under Andersen. He’s that bad as a game manager. Doesn’t even know why one of his best wide receivers doesn’t get into a game and makes no statement acquiring as to such for 4 quarters against UW while we are getting beatdown and clobbered at home.
First year we bring in a real coach OSU will get a P5 road win. Until then teams will continue to beat us left and right by 30 points even if they bring their ‘D’ game. This is nowhere in the ballpark of what Ray promised Beaver Nation. Beavs have become the Worst P5 program under all talk AnderPants.
Luke Del Rio becomes starter at Florida and did well until injury.
Marcus McMaryion becomes starter at Fresno State and is doing well.
Kyle Kempt starts against #3 Oklahoma and pulls the historic upset for the Cyclones.
We should have kept the quarterbacks and run off the coaches. Anderpants and McGivint might be the biggest cons in Oregon State football history. Trust the process, my ass.
Luke Del Rio becomes starter at Florida and did well until injury.
So… we’re off into la la land now? There is no objective measure backing this claim. His team won games despite his play, until he wasn’t playing. Is that what you meant?
I would love to see Tyner get more touches. He looked good in garbage time and i think with this shit team why wouldn’t you try to get the fastest player on the field the ball. Oh yeah mcgiven.
This game will be over in the first quarter. Trojans will score 21 unanswered points. The Beavs will answer with an early 2nd quarter stop and then TD and hold the condoms to 0, which will look hopeful when we score a field goal going into the half. Then USC will score another 42 points. Just the pulverizing an exhausted D. This is where the prediction gets bold. Andersen will show his mismanagement of his staff and he’ll fire Clune because he’s so scared of actually putting the work into learning how to run an offense he’ll think that by taking over the D will make things work out.
Just saw the Kempt news. Wow. Never had a strong opinion on him either way (had him ranked as my #4 3-star in my rankings), but clearly he’s good if he did that damage vs Oklahoma. Gary misses again. Holy shit he’s awful with QBs.
Kempt made some great throws, especially the routine throws that Luton was struggling with so badly to start the year that completely break the offense. All the quick hitters to the sideline, dump-offs, and wheel routes to RB’s out of the backfield were well-placed and consistent, especially in the 4th quarter.
I couldn’t believe it when I recognized the name and looked him up.
It’s not just that GA is bad at managing QB’s, it’s that he has been so consistently and obviously bad at it his entire career.
Interesting comments and the frustration is clearly showing (to state the obvious).
Perhaps we might consider:
1. Accept as givens that GA’s problems and McM’s wonderfulness exist so we don’t continue to beat them to death (posting wise).
2. Recognize GA’s going to be here a few years, like it or not.
3. Focus therefore on how in the hell can we get rid of the current OC and DC in the short term. What if anything can we do to push that agenda?

Oregon State transfer QB's have now made starts in the SEC, Big12, and the Mountain West this season ?????— Nick Mitchell (@Nick_Mitchell03) October 7, 2017
I was a big fan of the Andersen hire based on how he was able to turn Utah State around but I am having my doubts know based on his analysis of all the QBs. Thinking back further, was anyone else responsible for the USU turnaround besides Gary?
Now it’s true… except for the part about him losing his job last year. I can probably go back to last year when he was just stinking up the place and find posts by you that derided the kid.
His feet were down first and he had control. Then his ass came down out of bounds and the ball popped out when he landed. At that point the catch was completed in bounds already
Since there’s only a football game on in name only, how about discussing how Anderpants and his band of stooges leave town?
With a 12 million dollar buyout, we know he’s not getting fired unless it’s for cause. Any way to pressure him to leave? Resign with negotiated lower buyout? Magic curses? Go Waco on his ass and have the beavermobile drive up and own his neighborhood blaring Boots at 2 AM?
I understand that calling a time out there is not an original concept but I also don’t make millions of dollars and get a fat PERS package why in the world do coach’s needs PERS
Has been all season. I don’t think this O line is good enough to do what last year’s line did, at least not yet. They lost 3 starters from last season, some of which had interest by the NFL. OSU certainly isn’t in a position to just reload on the OL.

Lol @ OSU roughing the punter when there is no need to even go for the block on such a short field. Their kicker was most likely going to kick it out of the endzone for like 30 net. Awful coaching.
I’d tell them no rush…let USC kick it out of the endzone. Going for a block there is stupid/desperation/high-risk gambling due to impatience, which sums up GA. He tries to disguise it as “aggressive”…okay, Gary.
Should that one guy have had a contingency for the one time in all of my years watching football that I’ve seen someone go clean through three unmoving up men?
They get the stop, force a punt, ST runs into the kicker…have to come right back out and stop a bunch of 5-stars. D’s fault? On twitter guys like Travis Rice are still blaming the D…
I’ve noticed that. He’s really stupid. Like one good play and he sees great hope for the future, and the awful plays and coaching decisions he’s so gentle on the players and coaches and tries to spin things as positives.
I’m completely ignoring the score. I’m just watching to see if the Beavs can sustain some offensive drives. The defense is fine, I’m not concerned about them. They’ll be even better next year.
is under center too hard for the QBs or something? you are trying to get 2 yard yet the running back is getting the ball 3 to 2 years from the line of scrimmage
How USC is playing is how a good college football team plays football. I’ve been saying this all along. College football is a war of attrition, not some elegant game.
It’s not a good D for sure, but it’s okay and would get covered up (statistically) by a competent ST/offense. We’d have 2 or 3 wins with this same D and a competent QB/ST.
2nd half should be fun. D got 3 turnovers, O turned that into 3 points…
D has been on the field a lot…this is going to get ugly, then the D will get blamed by guys like Travis Rice. It sucks people just look at D score/stats and end their opinion there, because it gives McGiven and the goons more rope.
It’s time you guys bombard the media on twitter and ask them to question GA about all the QBs he’s run off. Start today. Be relentless all week. Don’t have me as the only one doing it. We need an AB army pressuring the media to ask/demand answers to that. And most importantly, did GA learn anything from his errors in running viable QBs off the roster?
Have you not been performing one long red herring? It’s not the QBs, but you keep pretending it is. You can’t correct the problem if you can’t even identify the problem.
The coaching staff is awful but Garretson would be horrible even if he played for Alabama. I can’t believe that he was ahead of MM on the depth chart. It’s not his fault, but he is not a D1 qb. Good job DA. He is the worst qb we’ve had in 20 years.
Garretson was better than this when he played at USU, and LDR sucks just as badly at Florida. Garretson would be just as successful at Fresno as MM is.
The neat deal is Kempt. He was underrated by everyone, including his current coach. And he still gets up every day and plays the game. Good for him.
Exactly. Someone went wrong with Jack where he can’t see logic or facts anymore. Must be in love with GA or something because I’ve heard every possible twisted excuse.
You haven’t even given me a chance to rail on GA yet because you’re stuck on this false narrative that’s distracting to everyone and everything.
I’m not going to directly or tacitly allow myself to falsely critique someone. If I did that and read it back, I would be angry with myself for wasting my own fucking time while completely ignoring the real, tangible issues.
Get real. He was likely going to transfer if Riley stayed. MM would have done so eventually as well. LDR would have stuck around and backed up Kline. Pensyl didn’t look like a typical Riley next coming, but he could have worked some game time in eventually.
NiceBeaver, Kempt clearly left OSU because he wanted to be closer to family, pet his dog each night, and eat home cooked meals, which doesn’t make for a coward who is running form adversity, but a neat deal!
I love that Jack concludes all those guys would have transferred out under Riley, too. Lol.
Kline? Kline was never even a commit, was he? He went to JC in early 2014 and choose that path over the Beavs. Yet, Jack thinks all the QBs who were actually on the roster would be sitting behind him…
If you’re going to say that a coach is wrong for not starting someone, and that someone transfers… THEN you start a false narrative about how someone would be better for the same team despite that someone leaving for whatever reason… BUT you make up the reason, and that reason is that he’s butthurt and wanted to run away… even when there are instead a multitude of mature, rational reasons for people to make life decisions… then don’t get upset that you’re called out for any of it and ridiculed in the process.
I will say that having all summer to think about it then committing to a team in fall camp is giving your word to your teammates that you are there to stay.
As soon as he left, it was apparent the coaches made the right decision. I like to think he didn’t intentionally screw his teammates. That limits the possible narratives… that I’m not going to spend two months driving into the dirt… because I no longer care about someone who doesn’t want to be here.
If it’s true he just took his ball and went home, then I lose a ton of respect for him. I choose to respect him, given the lack of evidence.
GA never believed that he could win this game anyway. Tough to gameplan for USC’s talent. Cant blame the coaches for this one, just working like crazy to get our guys better…blah blah, no changes will happen just trusting the horrible process to horrible results.
1. Didn’t NE pay us that buyout in order to take him off our hands? Pretty sure he was signed with us through like 2021.
2. Take the money saved on that buyout and use it to buyout GA.
We also make a ton of money via the TV contract and bowl sharing revenue. I think baseball and WBB are profitable at this point, right?
There’s money for a buyout. Most lists I’ve ever seen have OSU ranked 40th to 50th in revenue. Yet we always claim poverty. We’re just cheap, not poor. Big difference.
Correct me if I’m wrong on the finances. I am piecing this together from memory. But I don’t think we’re poor…
Also, best case: GA retires for health reasons. He looks like shit, looks burnt out, and he has to realize he’s going to die soon if he’s stressing out as much as he says. He might go the Urban Meyer path and retire a few years. That would be best for all.
I give up on Beaver football. I’ll always hope they win but I’m not watching or going to the games anymore. Outside of tuition I will never give another dollar to this institution.
In case anybody hasn’t been paying attention, Garretson has been very accurate with his passes in this half, and guys have been catching it as well. Villy had a drop early that was right in his hands.
We scored after the seth taunting call.
So USC has a blind kid playing long snapper. He played 1 snap last week, and they bring him in again after a late USC touchdown. Snap is good, kick is good, but GA had his team play no defense on the play, so we basically conceded the PAT, as long as the blind snapper could get the snap off. How many more times will USC get to pull the neat deal story this year for the free extra point?
Oh yeah, and Tino Allen fumbled the ensuing kick off return. Ooops…
I haven’t looked at their schedule, but they’ll get to do so against Cal, Nikegon, CU and Zony. I would throw ASU in there as well, but they always play USC tough for whatever reason.
Awesome, now we get to hear from Mike Parker all week about how things are looking up, because we outperformed expectations. Never mind the expectations were we lose by 34.
Playing Tyler for 2 last meaningless running plays burns his redshirt for certain doesn’t it? That seems dumb at this point. He hasn’t played since Minnesota.
WHat is aggravating is the reality that USC was obviously vulnerable or sleep-walking through the game, and the Beavs did nothing to change that fact either way.
Garretson couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn first. But looked better in second half. Now that should carry them forward from here and they should win the rest of their games going forward… oops. Sorry… I dozed off there and was having a dream.
I’m curious what others think if you actually watched the game to completetion. I think that we could have scored another 13 points. 6 points for the two missed field goals and 7 points if Garrestson didnt fumble the snap. I think the defense is way ahead of the offense. Offense needs to play better period. GA still needs to fire McGivens. And Smalls our TE recurit now says we have two silent commits.
I think we’re going to have to settle in and don’t expect any changes the rest of this season. GA is practicing the Phil Jackson method of coaching. He’s going to let his coaches and players suffer through the adversity and figure it out on their own.
When I look at teams like WSU and OU It makes me think of an old saying. You can take the person out of the ghetto but you can’t take the ghetto out of the person. Said person has to choose to not be ghetto anymore. WSU and OU choose not to be losers anymore and did things to change themselves internally so the effort would manifest externally. OSU still has ghetto mentality.
My family has been OSU for generations. But it like having a generational curse. I seriously am thinking about breaking the curse and flipping to another team. But unfortunately this curse has a hold on me.
Why would anyone watch college football on a weekly basis if they don’t have any emotional ties to it? Some games can be compelling. But they are few and far between.
Back to my accustomed position #1 I hope GA took the kids to Disneyland last night so the memory of this weekend will not be too bad.
After a slow start, due to lack of interest, SC pours it on in a replay of last week. 42-7
USC 56, OSU 10

Honestly, I don’t see us scoring any points. I hope I’m wrong but I’m feeling a 38-0 game?
I hate to do it and I sure hope I am wrong but I thought the same thing….. unless we get some cheap points during garbage time…:
REDRUM
Good luck with the cougs.
Has anyone heard more news about the “big” silent commitments?
Kody Kempt for Iowa St line through 3 quarters 15-22, 299 yds against Oklahoma Sooners.
On the way to the biggest upset of the year if the score holds and Sooners don’t get the expected home cookin.
Even Iowa St gets our rejects and makes them good.
Was just about to post this. His first ever D1 start too.
His brother Kyle played for da Beavs!
WTF is OU wearing?
Kody/Kyle whatever. I thought he may have changed his name in order to not be associated with the dumpster that is OSU football.
The kicker for Iowa St is none other than Garret Owens from OSU.
Luck of the former beavs
Luke Del Rio becomes starter at Florida and did well until injury.
Marcus McMaryion becomes starter at Fresno State and is doing well.
Kyle Kempt starts against #3 Oklahoma and pulls the historic upset for the Cyclones.

Fire GA. Quickly… this is beyond shameful
http://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2015/03/kyle_kempt_on_leaving_oregon_s.html
Sorry for the olive link, but this is ridiculous
What ever happened to Vanderveen and Tanner Sanders?
They changed positions and burned out. Can’t blame them.
I remember when he left.
What’s ridiculous?
Another way of looking at it is Kempt was the 3rd string QB on a very poor program, in his redshirt senior year.
So… we’re off into la la land now? There is no objective measure backing this claim. His team won games despite his play, until he wasn’t playing. Is that what you meant?
Condoms are for sailors
34-28 BEAVS 3OT

Open to comments.
Kempt looked great ,3 TD’s
Owens 3 -3 FG
Former Beavs shine
Meanwhile, we’re down 7-0, which is probably all USC needs. They could rest their starters now.
I notice every time Jalen Moore is in the game the secondary is awful, yet there he remains…
GA won’t know why Hudson is benched.
Hudson’s injured… as GA said.
Pierce might be our best player, attitude/effort always seems good
Pierce is always fun to watch. I wish all our skill players had his attitude once they got the ball.
Garretson is the most inaccurate QB I’ve ever seen. Not sure how he’s a QB. Just like last year.
I’d rather have seth collins back there personally
Agree.
Last summer, I wasn’t sure about McM vs Luton, but I was very confident that DG was bad. Couldn’t believe the comment that McM would have to fight for the #2 job.
I think BeavGirl said that in last week’s thread, and I agreed…Seth, while awful, is actually better than DG.
That explains why he’s not in there!
Because he’s from Utah State?
The Beavers are just young boys out there playing against men. It’s just not fair. Haha.
Gary’s decisions look worse every Saturday.
The dude thought Seth, Luton, Blount, and Garretson were better than McMaryion and Kempt. Frightful QB analysis from a HC.
Let’s realllllly emphasize something… After Garretson went down last year he put in CONNOR BLOUN>MCM
What if they are, and they would be doing the same thing or worse in our deficient O scheme, as MM demonstrated in the past two seasons?
Ugwoegbu fucked that up trying to point out a false start instead of being ready. Im over that guy one of the young guys has to be better.
He wasn’t wrong
He wasn’t. Their WR on the right was also lined up offside.
False start on that last TD.
And I’m not so sure it wasn’t off sides on the INT play
Went back to look… it wasn’t offside. He got a good jump on the snap.
I honestly can’t tell at this point whether the defense is honestly getting beat, or they’ve just flat out quit.
They’re beating themselves by taking the wrong assignments. Tee Martin is playing with our frosh.
This would be another good chance for people to ask a “hard question” of GA.
People should tweet this at reporters to see if we can get someone brave soul to ask.
The fact that Nick Mitchell of all people is in the position to throw shade… and that it’s totally valid, is utterly hilarious.
Wow, Nick Mitchel laying into GA. That’s amazing.
Funny.
I think it’s more a knock on the SEC and Big 12.
MWC is to be expected. I’m not sure why that might surprise him, other than he can’t get there.
I was a big fan of the Andersen hire based on how he was able to turn Utah State around but I am having my doubts know based on his analysis of all the QBs. Thinking back further, was anyone else responsible for the USU turnaround besides Gary?
He got lucky with Chucky Keaton
No. He obviously couldn’t see that Keaton was his best QB, and he sat him, forcing Keaton to transfer.
Were you OJ’s cellmate?
Again GA blows the challenge opportunity.
My stream cutout. What happened?
I saw his prized 5-star kicker, who he ran owens off the team for, missed again….
It was blocked
… and still almost made it.
AKA kicked low or crappy, which we saw again on his second kick.
Nope.
The dude came in unblocked from the side.
Now it’s true… except for the part about him losing his job last year. I can probably go back to last year when he was just stinking up the place and find posts by you that derided the kid.
Is he even watching the game? What does GA actually do?
Does the booth not do that in colege?
It does.
Hodgins made the td catch and then fumbled after making the catch. That’s a TD, or at the very least a must review play
Missed it, so can’t say, but GA is just as bad as Riley with not challenging, so I’ll defer to your opinion.
Not a catch
Not according to the OSU staff. /s
That’s what the announcers said. Are the rules different from the NFL? I thought you had to control the ball to the ground.
His feet were down first and he had control. Then his ass came down out of bounds and the ball popped out when he landed. At that point the catch was completed in bounds already
Nope.
Process of the catch wasn’t completed. There is now way a review changes the call.
I’m beginning to think this team just does not want to win a game. It’s just incredible how many chances to score they do not capitalize on.
I’d prolly just for it on 4 down there… wtf can you lose
Bright got lucky there… FALL ON IT
So our offense cant score lol.
Our offense is so bad it’s laughable.
For fuck sake
Choke Air. …..our kicker.
Bad snap
Choker biffs it again. I’d say it’s unbelievable, except it’s totally believable.
Oh, why is a coach not calling a time out there? Even if you don’t get it you can draw up another play. I’m not a coach. I’m I wrong?
I miss Owens the kicker he kicks for Iowa State I think anyone know why he left?
I understand that calling a time out there is not an original concept but I also don’t make millions of dollars and get a fat PERS package why in the world do coach’s needs PERS
It should have been where if you make a certain amount, you’re not eligible but oh well…
I have never seen a team this bad. What a farce.
I have. Check out vids of Joe Avezzano’s Beav squads. Never thought that could be replicated.
I see we have someone new to this whole NCAA football thing.
Welcome.
Good god. What a dumpster fire GA has created. I bet any other staff would field a more competitive team with the same players.
I’ll take that bet.
What are you offering up? Let me know, and I’ll give you a staff that wouldn’t do better.
This sums up GA:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKUvKE3bQlY
We got a first down!
We got another first down!
Who are these people?
Intercepted text: “Hey… Gar I’m trying to help you out here, but I can’t do it all myself.” Clay
DG is staring a lot. That’s what got him a pick.
The pressure they’re getting is brutal so i dont put it completely on him.
He’s doing the best he can.
No, he’s not.
We’ve seen him do better.
If it wasn’t clear to anyone that the problem is the offense this game is the football gods beating you over the head with the proof.
They gave the defense some rest. I think that’s about all we can hope for at this point.
I find it hard to believe that running the ball 65 to 70% is any worse for this team
#64 just standing there staring on that sack on 3rd down. Literally didn’t block anyone.
Until they can complete a deep ball its going to look like shit. The d just creeps up and congests everything because they know there is no threat.
Where is tino?
Hence the gunslinger and 50 passes
DG has looked pretty good since the INT. He’s had 2 TD’s dropped and has been composed under pressure.
O-line has been the weak link.
That was a shit throw on the one to matagi.
That 2nd TD pass was a terrible pass to an open receiver. WTM could theoretically caught it, but that’s mostly on DG. First TD was a nice throw.
Has been all season. I don’t think this O line is good enough to do what last year’s line did, at least not yet. They lost 3 starters from last season, some of which had interest by the NFL. OSU certainly isn’t in a position to just reload on the OL.
This is fascinating: Owens was great in 2014 under Riley, and is great this year.
http://www.espn.com/college-football/player/stats/_/id/546872/garrett-owens
His two bad years were under this staff. (2015 was okay, but he declined over the prior year in both stats and confidence). I don’t feel like these coaches instill confidence. It’s like they’re looking for reasons to fuck with your head. Comment based on how they handled Nall, Hodgins, McM, Owens, et al.
It’s probably because we no longer spend $360k on a dedicated ST coach. That kind of commitment to that phase better bring perfection always.
he was a walk on too and he had to seat behind the one player lettuce boy Ramon or something
Great lettuce boy reference.
I bet his “good” percentage won’t hold up over the season. He’s made 4 of 5 kicks. He missed one in the 20-29 yard range.
Don’t think those stats are updated. Twitter has him at 7 of 8 on the year after today.
It’s probably tough competing against your coaches’ arbitrary decision making.
You mean his current coach who had him walk on and on the bench?
When do we get to see the more accurate passing game NiceBeaver promised after DG completed 2 passes against Wazzu?
Did I make a promise?
Garretson has 1 INT in the span where Luton would have 2 or 3, so…hard to say Garretson has been any less accurate.
I’m really surprised that the idiot that roughed the kicker was wearing some scary facemask thing under his helmet. Super surprised.
Speaking of special teams, is that consecutive weeks of roughing the punter on OSU?
Wow. I dont get hhow they decide rooughing. I know the rule but it seems very inconsistent.
Lol @ OSU roughing the punter when there is no need to even go for the block on such a short field. Their kicker was most likely going to kick it out of the endzone for like 30 net. Awful coaching.
unreal to call a full rush there, literally unreal
It was one guy.
What are you watching?
fair but coaches should be EMPHASIZING never go for the block before the play
Before what play?
You send one guy who will always get stopped by the three up men, or you send the house, hoping to overwhelm those three.
He was probably shocked he made it past them.
I’d tell them no rush…let USC kick it out of the endzone. Going for a block there is stupid/desperation/high-risk gambling due to impatience, which sums up GA. He tries to disguise it as “aggressive”…okay, Gary.
It was one guy.
You always send at least one guy.
Should that one guy have had a contingency for the one time in all of my years watching football that I’ve seen someone go clean through three unmoving up men?
I don’t know. I’ve never seen it before.
That was a weird play.
Have you ever seen three up men let a single defender get to their P?
I’ve seen O-linemen intentionally open the gate for a DL to kill their QB, but not that.
From what I’ve seen, hitting the kicking leg is running, plant leg roughing. Typically.
I think this game proves that USC is very, very overrated this season.
Also, something tells me that if we had McMaryion and a healthy Nall, we would be tied at this point instead of trailing 21-3.
Overrated… or a college football team?
You don’t think they are the 14th best college team??
Sounds about right from all I’ve seen.
But once you get past about seven or eight teams, the next 20 or so are fungible.
With McMaryion or Luton this would be a closer game. Not sure the drop off from Nall is anywhere as close as the drop off at QB.
Ha!
So is that TD on the D?
They get the stop, force a punt, ST runs into the kicker…have to come right back out and stop a bunch of 5-stars. D’s fault? On twitter guys like Travis Rice are still blaming the D…
Guys like Travis Rice are dumb.
I’ve noticed that. He’s really stupid. Like one good play and he sees great hope for the future, and the awful plays and coaching decisions he’s so gentle on the players and coaches and tries to spin things as positives.
Why don’t they bring an rb over to help the right tackle? Lauina is getting destroyed.
Shades of the Texas DE at the Alamo bowl
OMG don’t remind me. PTSD.
Why are they running such long developing plays when USC has athletes with superior sideline to sideline speed?
Fuck u mcgiven
Hungover maybe?
If I was Trevorris Johnson, I’d be more than frustrated at the lack of carries this season.
Yep.
Screw the QB shenanigans, Nall should have been moved to LB for the 2016 season.
I’m not sure if you’re serious or using sarcasm, but in case of the latter…
My comment wasn’t a knock on Nall as RB, it was a criticism of the mismanagement and lack of rotation among the RBs this season by the coaching staff.
Dear 6 lb 8 oz baby Jesus
I hope someone gets fired on the LAX tarmac tonight
At least Kevin didn’t mail it in after the first quarter like last week. Playcalling had had some variety and creativity.
I’m completely ignoring the score. I’m just watching to see if the Beavs can sustain some offensive drives. The defense is fine, I’m not concerned about them. They’ll be even better next year.
Called a TO for that call?
Why not pass? Jesus!
Something i just thought about with the hand clapping deal is that u cant really do a hard count.
If you’re going to run it there, why use Tyner and not Johnson?
Johnson just bulldozed a few plays earlier and clearly looked in beast mode.
Yes! But don’t run it there. We’ve seen them get stuffed enough on 3rd and 4th down and short.
Why Tre isn’t goal line/short yardage all the time I cannot figure.
…our coaching staff…..
is under center too hard for the QBs or something? you are trying to get 2 yard yet the running back is getting the ball 3 to 2 years from the line of scrimmage
I think you meant 2-3 light years.
Trojans playing like utter crap, and they’re still up 3 scores. Anderpants needs to GTFO
Hello?
It’s college football.
Good job clearing that up, Jack. The prop!e who thought we were watching tiddlywinks thank you.
How USC is playing is how a good college football team plays football. I’ve been saying this all along. College football is a war of attrition, not some elegant game.
I thought it was life or death././..
Wonder if Barnes hanging around at practice is to assess who the deadbeat coaches are and force GA to fire some since he can’t fire GA.
I hope so. McGiven needs to be fired.
The sun is hot.
Water is wet.
I’m a crappy overpriced coach.
I hope so too — that’s what I was getting at.
Ah, the days of when I was laughed at for saying the D wasn’t the problem and showed potential, and the O was the main problem. *sigh*
When was that?
D is still a problem but not the biggest.
It’s not a good D for sure, but it’s okay and would get covered up (statistically) by a competent ST/offense. We’d have 2 or 3 wins with this same D and a competent QB/ST.
QB wouldn’t make a difference unless he was all-world and ignored the OC.
Those were to the good ol’ days.
Garettson cannot pre snap read. Holy shit
Football dyslexia
New Beav slogan. We run off good QB’s.
Refs just screwed us bad there.
So, is the somewhat inept offensive performance somehow a blessing in disguise? Looking for a silver lining.
I believe so. I think the offensive players dislike McGiven so much that they are just playing horribly to get him fired.
I think Anderpants is spot on that USC will score 56. They’ll make adjustments, we won’t. Story of the season.
It’s not the QBs.
When will you give up this extended red herring?
Should I just block Jack? He offers nothing at this point.
Poll coming up after the game.
The banhammer!
What has been nothing?
Have you not been performing one long red herring? It’s not the QBs, but you keep pretending it is. You can’t correct the problem if you can’t even identify the problem.
Jack is a douche canoe and adds zero to the conversation.
A conversation takes at least two people with differing thoughts.
This is me saying that you all are confirming the bias of a false dichotomy created through illusory truth.
AKA dumb herd mentality.
I even tried a courtesy bias. But nobody’s having anything to do with anything that doesn’t confirm their bias. You guys are deep in it.
it would not be the same place with out Jack like him or hate him
Yes!
Hungalu seems to miss too many tackles but is a good playmaker in pass rush and zone coverage.
Gotta end this mindset that we can’t afford to fire GA. We most certainly can, by using all that money we saved by not firing Riley.
Who would you get?
I’d entertain a serious answer.
Tracy Claeys. Works for cheap and could fill out the alternative Mammoth mascot suit.
Pay the buyout then genius.
Except Anderpants costs twice as much as Riley did, and we’ve been paying that extra difference since Riley left
The coaching staff is awful but Garretson would be horrible even if he played for Alabama. I can’t believe that he was ahead of MM on the depth chart. It’s not his fault, but he is not a D1 qb. Good job DA. He is the worst qb we’ve had in 20 years.
That’s untrue.
Garretson was better than this when he played at USU, and LDR sucks just as badly at Florida. Garretson would be just as successful at Fresno as MM is.
The neat deal is Kempt. He was underrated by everyone, including his current coach. And he still gets up every day and plays the game. Good for him.
Wait, Kempt is a neat deal, depite transferring when faced with adversity at Oregon State?
Exactly. Someone went wrong with Jack where he can’t see logic or facts anymore. Must be in love with GA or something because I’ve heard every possible twisted excuse.
Jack, what’s going on over there, buddy?
If he transferred out of Riley’s or Andersen’s system, he still would have been a quitter though, right? Quitters can’t have neat deal stories.
Yet, Jack thinks all the QBs who were actually on the roster would be sitting behind him…
They certainly can’t have neat deal stories for our team.
So I won’t pretend his neat deal is what’s wrong with our team… or has anything to do with anything.
Didn’t read. I know it’s more nonsense.
Just stop.
Didn’t read any of that.
LA! LA! LA!
I CAN’T HEAR YOU!
GA never believed that he could win this game anyway. Tough to gameplan for USC’s talent. Cant blame the coaches for this one, just working like crazy to get our guys better…blah blah, no changes will happen just trusting the horrible process to horrible results.
Pac-12 halftime telecasters mention Kempt and how OSU could use a QB right now…lol.
PS. Villy should get 0 snaps per game. Why is the guy on the field? Never saw coaches with more of a hard on for a player.
It’s about building young men, football is secondary.
@angry. Jerry Sandusky disputes your contention.
Sooo bad… but I laughed.
The one time Collins should have hit the hurdle button, he didn’t
Why did we have 2 guys blocking 1 defender while another defender goes untouched??? WTF?
These announcers need to stop making excuses for Sam Darnold (Syndrome).
Too easy! PBH out. Time to start focusing on the bye week.
Okay turned the game off.
MLB time.
What is Scott Barnes up to? Has he done anything since he got here? Honest question.
What? I thought you were he?
I asked WI fans to visit here and give their input on what’s going on…
https://twitter.com/janelson38/status/916787944970522624
We are officially their poor bastards.
Did we pay a buy-out?
Or did GA have to pay that on his own?
Decent play calling got us to 2nd and goal, then the players drop the ball.
Oh the humanity
Coaching coaching coaching.
Where?
Ok, the offense sustained a drive! Our new motto is “We go almost all the way!”
Used to be the motto of Catholic girls back in the day.
That was a fucking safety!
Yea the point of recovery was past the plain.
Beavera almost gifted 2 pts by USC fumble. Missed out by inches
Who put a curse on our football team??? So dam close on so many different things today.
Regarding this GA buyout talk:
There are no WBB programs that are profitable. Zero.
The buy-outs are what I was wondering.
I can’t remember if we paid it or not.
Collins makes another great catch, this time for a TD. Also hets taunting penalty for flexing at USC defender afterwards
Dude is such a bone head.
What a fuck up!
Cstch under review. Ball may have touched ground barely, but he did have control. Could be called down an inch short possibly, but i think its a td
Dude, 6 inch line, and penalty moves it back. Fucking shit.
6 inches is bullshit too, ball was over line when he caught i
What’s the spread?
How is the facemask not called?
Why did I post there?
This game was winnable for nearly any FBS staff other than The Three Stooges, aka our head coach and coordinators.
Also, getting jobbed by wtf reviews again.
Clune is doing a decent job IMO
I give up on Beaver football. I’ll always hope they win but I’m not watching or going to the games anymore. Outside of tuition I will never give another dollar to this institution.
Go Coach Petersen, go Huskies
No one cares.
Evidently 5 people did enough to vote up or down my comment, plus there is a response so you couldn’t be more wrong.
This offense is so to watch.
*Hard
**fucked
getting caught up… did we actually punt on 4th and 1 from midfield too??????????
Yeah… those calls have bugged me all year. I first saw Nebby do it from the 35 (not theirs), and I laughed at it.
Then we did it.
Such a weak play.
Really, make great catch then lip off & get unsportsmanlike, Anderson should be in his ear screaming, that’s perfect example why they stink!
That’s far from the reason why they stink.
He should be benched for the rest of the season and told to transfer. Instead, Gary will do that to guys who do all the right things.
Villamin should be benched over Seth. Every team needs a fireball or two.
Our OC should be benched.
Pierce with a nice catch and hangs on, then gets TD on next play. Big boy football
In case anybody hasn’t been paying attention, Garretson has been very accurate with his passes in this half, and guys have been catching it as well. Villy had a drop early that was right in his hands.
Turned it off half hour ago. So we’d have 17 points if it weren’t for Seth?
No. Beavs scored two plays later.
I missed it while at my son’s baseball game but the stats looked much better. I hope you turn out to be correct.
DG throws up a prayer and it’s answered.
Is that a new digestive disorder for Beaver qbs?
Awesome, now we get to hear from Mike Parker all week about how things are looking up, because we outperformed expectations. Never mind the expectations were we lose by 34.
Maybe I spoke too soon
Shades of banker
Backup QB for SC runs through the D like shit through a goose.
OT: Navy just ripped Air forces hart out with a last min drive to go up 47-45 with 0:15 to play
It was awesome.
Why do they make such a big deal about the blind USC long snapper. Oregon State has a blind HC.
Don’t forget us!
I hope at the end of the season, USC reveals that the kid isn’t actually blind and USC duped their opponents all season
Once you play, the redshirt is gone. No harm getting him a few carries, even if they’re during garbage time.
He played against CSU.
Garretson couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn first. But looked better in second half. Now that should carry them forward from here and they should win the rest of their games going forward… oops. Sorry… I dozed off there and was having a dream.
I think I’m getting used to this. These lop-sided losses are getting easier to swallow.
Until GA makes the one call that would change anything, why bother?
I’m curious what others think if you actually watched the game to completetion. I think that we could have scored another 13 points. 6 points for the two missed field goals and 7 points if Garrestson didnt fumble the snap. I think the defense is way ahead of the offense. Offense needs to play better period. GA still needs to fire McGivens. And Smalls our TE recurit now says we have two silent commits.
Agree 100%. Offense really sucks but especially play calling. I’d rather have Diet Coke calling plays.
So, these commits are “silent” because they are embarrassed to let people know where they’re choosing to play football?
I dont know if there embarrassed, it happens at other schools these days.
Some kids dream of hat parties… or might need to tell Mike Leach that they’re no longer going to Wazzu.
Sounds like traditional ol’ OSU football: an irrelevant team looking inept against a league foe, mid-day on a Saturday with no one watching..,
Andersen has an obvious option…(Baldwin)…it’s not like he’d be stuck w/out an OC until the off season…
I think we’re going to have to settle in and don’t expect any changes the rest of this season. GA is practicing the Phil Jackson method of coaching. He’s going to let his coaches and players suffer through the adversity and figure it out on their own.
Yes…if we could just stop stepping on our dicks, we could put a good game together.
OT Go Badgers
McMaryion having a good game so far.
One thing to remember is that Garretson looked good at Utah State.
Does not confirm bias.
Must ignore.
MM 15-26 136yds But to be fair, he had to face the San Jose secondary and a monstrous SJSU pass rush.
I really don’t care.
Just realized my prediction was damn close!
38-14!
It was a good prediction.
I wonder how Vegas reacted when USC let up.
Denial. Hurt. Confused.
For sure. The chainsaw, that old 2015 Valley Center banner on the roof, playing AC/DC, etc. It’s like 1973 over there.
My family has been OSU for generations. But it like having a generational curse. I seriously am thinking about breaking the curse and flipping to another team. But unfortunately this curse has a hold on me.
Haha, well, I guess you have that option. I cannot change my alma mater. Beavers for life!
Yeah… what are we discussing here?
Why would anyone watch college football on a weekly basis if they don’t have any emotional ties to it? Some games can be compelling. But they are few and far between.
You can if you go get another degree. Might be worth the investment to find another team.
Perfect. Go bandwagon. Goducks.
I think the Huskies are bandwagon right now.
Or you could just go Bama.
I think you missed my point is I can’t leave. Beavs got a hold on me.
For Beaver fans, a good Saturday is relegated to Oregon and/or Nebraska losing.
… or a couple trout.
Went bird hunting today, thankfully missed the first half! Just wish I could have missed the second as well.
No birds either, too many elk hunters in the way….
Today’s Oregon State at USC game was brought to you by Butterfinger
Good candy bar. Bad football.
