  1. Levengood is apparently a top wrestler in his weight class. There’s a pretty strong correlation between wrestling success and success on the OL or DL.

  2. Cue up the “You’re killing me Smalls!” video after TDs…

Already one of OSU’s best recruiters….hope he runs routes and catches as well as he recruits!

  3. If you missed the post by TrailRunner97330 at the end of the previous thread, do yourself a favor and go back to read it. And follow the link there to an Eggers story from 16 years ago, it will renew your faith in doing things the “lunch bucket” way and maybe even remind you of what a good storyteller Eggers can be………………when not hugging MR!

    Thanks, TrailRunner, for posting!

Hint: not football related, takes a gentle jab at folks like uncle phil.

  4. Nicebeaver,

So it looks like we’re waiting on the following?

    3* QB Jake Dukart
    3* LB Isaiah Tufaga
    3* S Halid Djibril?

Any other surprises? I heard Nikko Hall is waiting till February?

        • Lake Oswego mixed leagues when the Pac-8 disbanded a few yeears ago. They kicked out Silverton, Woodburn, Forest Grove(My Alma Mater), and McMinnville. While keeping Tigard, Tualatin, Newberg, and Canby. When I played against Tigard and Tualatin, we always got blown out. All the others were close, with the exception being Woodburn was always a win for us.

      • Ah, yes….the previous staff did a poor job with JUCO OL so the solution is to never go that route again, brilliant if you don’t think too hard about it.

        • We’ve been over this.

OL should be the smartest group on the field. There are rare Juco OL who fit that metric but were undersized, underdeveloped or are moving through on a transfer. The latter is most common, and there are very few of them. They are also known quantities and targeted as such.

They’re fine, but they’re likely already headed somewhere (like home).

Most Juco OL are just not good. And they’re that way because they can’t get into a four-year program due to grades, or they are so deficient in any of a number of skills necessary to play on this level that they aren’t going to develop.

  5. Dukart is apparently planning to only play football at OSU which is a good thing but one thing I wonder about is if he is talented enough to get drafted by MLB in June. I could see him signing a contract to play baseball in the summer while being able to focus on football the rest of the year. This would actually be a positive for OSU if it happened because it would turn him into a walk on with the MLB team paying his college tab.

No idea if he is seen as a draftable talent as of yet but based on how well regarded he was as a baseball recruit it seems possible that he might get drafted.

  6. OT: For those who still think MR has a couple synapses still connected. A story how he and his crackerjack staff passed on a Lincoln kid that is a very good DT prospect. Signed with Wisconsin.
Scott Frost offered him as soon as he got to Lincoln.

Bryson Williams tells how the previous staff dropped the ball in his recruitment

        • It shows what an idiot and non-strategic thinker Riley is. DT is the hardest position to recruit, with the exception of QB. You can never have enough and this kid no doubt grew up dreaming of being a Husker. So he passes on a kid that the total recruiting effort probably would have required one phone call and a Uber ride. So now he will be playing for the program that has basically caused the last two coaches to get fired. Duhhhhhh. And we bring this bonehead back.

  7. Obviously a very weak class here. Coaching staff will need to step up for the Feb signing date. No low hanging fruit. I’d like to see them win some recruiting battles.

I’d be pretty wary of recruits who commit early in the next period. Either they’ll be low hanging fruit guys or ones who will flip at the last minute.

And they better find a QB.

  8. Hopefully everyone can keep their expectations in check for this recruiting class. Most good players want to go to a program that has a winning reputation and has a solid coaching foundation. We have neither. We’ve won 9 conference games in the last 5 years. For you Lib Arts folks, that’s less than 2 conference games per year. And we just ended a season with 0 conference wins and our coach walked out on the team during the miserable season. So don’t get too worked up if we have the worst recruiting class in the conference. We didn’t hire Slick Willie to get us a #1 class his first full round.

      • No, its called being realistic. The reality is that you aren’t gonna get a top recruiting class coming off a 1-11 season with a new coach coming in. That coach needs to develop talent and show the program is going somewhere to entice recruits. No one is a good enough salesman to sell OSU into a class ranked much better than 10th in the conference (at best)

        • Gotta love the down vote here. Some people on this site are beyond unrealistic. Put yourself in a recruits shoes and assume you have offers from all over this conference, you wouldn’t come to OSU right now either.

          • Only way we had a shot at putting together a higher star class was with a splashy hire. We went a different direction opting for under the radar smart guys to hopefully coach up the current roster, and have since added 0 ace recruiters.

Combine that with being a shitty team in a small market and the realistic answer is right there. Deal with it dudes. This class will not be “exciting”.

Now, that doesn’t mean there aren’t good players coming in. But if you all though a bunch of game breakers were all of a sudden going to sign early when we haven’t had a full staff up until this week, you are on crazy pills.

That isn’t “low expectations”. That’s a realistic assessment of the situation at hand.

          • I actually like what they have done within a couple weeks of being hired. Built a staff and recruited some guys to a dumpster fire. Upwards and onward from here I hope. Yes I want to see more and expect to in the future.

  9. I’m not thrilled about this class…yet, but at the same time, we will now have an opportunity to go after immediate needs and put all the attention and focus into the recruits that didn’t sign right away.

  10. Has anyone had time to track how this new early signing day is working? Meaning, percentage of “verbals” who are signing with their respective schools as opposed to those differing to the original Feb signing date? Obviously schools with coaching changes suffer, and there have been a bunch in this years coaching carousel.

Thinking about it logically, if I’m a high caliber player with several schools interested why would I sign early? Especially with all of the coaching attrition this year, who knows what coaches will be left standing in their original spots after the bowl games?

Unless I’m committing 100% to the school regardless of who all my coaches are, it doesn’t make sense to give up your power a month an a half earlier then you have to. If a school comes at you with the old “sign now or we’ll give your spot away” they do they really want you? Or just their class rating.

Good luck to all these kids. I hope you make the best informed decision for your future and aren’t jumping the gun because some shady coach is hard pressing just to up his recruiting status.

  11. I’ve also wondered about the benefits of signing early. One benefit is just ending the recruiting process which is probably overwhelming and nerve racking for kids. Does early enrollment play in to this? It’s not like they’ll get any actual practice reps in by joining the team before February, right? I suppose they can start building relationships and work out with the team. Anything else?

    • About that early enrollment…former teammate of my sons’ was recruited to kick at the ‘U-Dub; and was encouraged to enroll early as they nearly promised him a spot on the roster his freshman year. The kid enrolled early, got an apartment by himself up in Freeattle and they ended up red-shirting him anyway. Kid wasn’t too happy about missing the rest of his senior year.

  12. Mike Riley asked Jonathan Smith for a job, not the other way around. The AD and some of the other high level AD people were taken aback by this and waffled at the idea but overall felt that it would greatly increase ticket sales. It has not. There is a big scramble right now in the AD to pressure folks into renewing tickets and it’s being met with resistance. Sales are way way down from normal.

I think the Mike Riley asking for a job was interesting. It’s like he doesn’t have the social cues to recognize that maybe it’s not a good idea. It reminds me of autism (have an autistic relative, and a few family members work in education directly involving autism, so don’t be offended here thinking I am making fun of autistic individuals…) in which they have difficulty reading social cues or have the ability to recognize when a situation is embarrassing to be in. I’ve been around Riley enough to say that he’s a super nice person, but I have to question when people say he has no ego. Sounds like a bigger ego than people might think if he thinks he can just come waltzing back, ask for a job, and act like he never left.

This post is just my thoughts – I can see good and bad things about Mike coming back, so don’t think I’m just sitting here bashing on him. I just think it’s interesting that he reached out to Smith for a job first. The rumors that Mike’s wife was talking around town as early as October has a lot of teeth to it, as we have close friends who are friends with Dee and Mike and they almost seemed like this whole thing was a done deal back in early November. Mike mailed it in for Nebraska. He wanted back in Corvallis badly and knew he’d get another job here.

    • I’ve never met Riley, so my opinion is purely based subtleties I felt I’ve noticed in his personality and decision making while coaching at OSU.

IMO: Riley has a huge ego and thinks he’s smarter then everyone else. That why he’s always been so stubborn and unwilling to adapt game plans, personnel, offensive/defensive philosophy… In his mind, he has developed the perfect strategies to win at football, and if it would just be executed properly he’d never lose. So regardless of the talent, just do it over and over again until they get it right.

The aw shucks shtick was a tool used to deflect and disarm the media, who would then take it easy on him because “he’s just so darn likable.”

    • That’s basically exactly what I heard from locals/sources.
I think he’s totally fake, but in a nice way. People with no idea how to read others via to combinations of body language, words, actions, view him as genuine. It’s like when a guy flips out and kills his entire family, and the neighbor is always like, “That can’t be, we never saw it coming, he was the nicest guy!”…yeah, anyone can put on an act if they’re a chameleon. Also, check out this snooze fest:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJXPOvS5nt8

    • “The AD and some of the other high level AD people were taken aback by this and waffled at the idea but overall felt that it would greatly increase ticket sales.”

I’m sorry but hiring Mike Riley as an assistant will not increase tickets sales. Whoever thought that should not be in any position of influence within the athletic department. Wins on the field is what will increase ticket sales.

      • I really think the Athletic Department was completely taken off guard by the blow back from the Riley hiring and now are trying to sell it as best they can. The fact that they were that out of touch has me questioning their lack of judgement in such a basic matter as fan/alum opinion. I already told my friends that I have split season tickets with since 1992 I am out next year. I will still watch on TV because I am an alum and I want the school to do well, I just can’t bring myself to renew my season tix. And believe me, I have supported the Beavs through some pretty lean times.

        • Agree. There now seems to be attention given to selling the idea that “Having Mike Riley on Jonathan Smith’s Oregon State coaching staff won’t hurt “…the headline for Goe’s recent piece, by the way.
The reaction of scribes, along with Parker, make it apparent that in their hearts they now realize that the opposition to this move involves much more than a “small minority”.

Without the voices of those who suffered through MR’s last few years at OSU and, observed with a degree of schadenfreude, his utter failure at Neb, those who brought Mike (and their supervisors) would wallow in their ignorance. We’ve heard rumors of infighting within the AD, I’m not so sure those rumors are true, this out of touch move to bring Riley back looks like the result of isolated group think.

We’ve seen blitz post 14 minutes with MR, more than twice the combined time devoted to Michalczik and Hynson. That’s upside down, IMHO. BTW, anyone doubt that MR will be coaching DB’s?

“Out of touch…in such a basic matter as fan/alum opinion” indeed.

        • You got that right – started out as an ‘Under 30’ season ticket holder during the late ’80’s depths of the drought thinking that I was going to be a part of the solution. Had to give them up after the season Riley was ‘this close’ to having a winning season. They went to the BASF system and really jacked the prices up. I had great seats, too, under the old overhang, so I could stay somewhat dry when it rained.

        • Bingo….I can see the accountants doing the math — 12$ per beer times 25k fans times 4 beers per fan…..1.25 mil vs. 12$ per beer times 45k fans times 1 beer per fan….0.54 mil. “Golly gee Wally”….don’t forget increased maintenance and depreciation on septic system.

        • That’s not what was asked. You didn’t like his answer today. He’s already taken the job and was asked about it today. What’s he supposed to say?

        • Dude, get over it. You don’t like he is here, you are not going to have any influence in a decision to remove him. You sound like a big baby. It’s kind of sick that you critique every sentence that comes out his mouth, you have people that are comparing his actions to those of autistic kids. Which is an insult to both Mike Riley and kids with autism.

Let me make this clear, Mike Riley is an assistant coach at Oregon State. All of your critique of Mike has been when he has been an HEAD COACH and trust me, I would be on your side of the fence had that happened, however as an assistant coach, we are very lucky to have the man, AS AN ASSISTANT COACH.

He isn’t the reason why Petras decommited, he isn’t the reason the weather sucks right now, let’s stop the bashing of the dude. It’s the same shit over and over and over and over and over and over again. Cool, he rides a bike to work. We get it.

          Go Beavs.

          • So leave. But no, you’d rather enjoy your recreational outrage.

There are a billion Beaver cheerleading sites you can go read. Just watch out for Gary Andersen.

          • “He isn’t the reason why Petras decommited” Maybe true, but he IS the reason many are now acting like we really didn’t need him** or that he didn’t fit some mysterious plan.

“you are not going to have any influence in a decision to remove him.” True, BUT voicing concern over the decision to offer him a position will let the powers that be know that they need to get more in tune with the fan base…….if they care.

And, damn straight, GO BEAVS !!

**Example: On 12/15 Tim Euhus responds to a tweet mentioning the Petras flip by saying:
            “Is this a bad thing?”

          • The comparison wasn’t to an autistic kid or kids. It’s a note about behavior that is similar to something someone has only one baseline to reference.

Bike Smiley is an OSU Assistant Head Football Coach.

It sucks, and he adds less value than he subtracts. We’re not going to change it on a blog. But it should be noted that this discussion wouldn’t be about the same shit over and over and over and over and over and over again if it wasn’t the same shit over and over and over and over and over and over again.

I wish the team good luck next year and any other year he’s being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by my alma mater. But I’m numb to them emotionally. I’ll appreciate the players, but I’ll think of 9 as being in the wrong on apparently his second day on the job. Nothing he can do will make that wrong go away. He can only mitigate it or let that sucker bleed.

          • I don’t usually say things like this, but I agree with Jack.

9 fucked the dog. Immediately. Then they fucked the dog again. Together.

Then delusional dipshits tried to make up some bullshit to make it seem like maybe they fucked the dog on purpose, strategically.

But that’s not true. They just fucked the dog.

      • What would be an acceptable answer?

Since OSU is in the position to have him answer for us, a joke is appropriately respectful.

        I agree with you.

We’re a punchline to a Mike Riley joke.

  13. I think Mike was hired as a good luck charm to get us back to a 6-6 record in year one. Here’s to a bowl game in year one baby!!! thanks Mike!!!

  14. Early signing day helps established programs. Lock up bigger time recruits early. Don’t have to worry about flips later. Helps small schools too. Protects their commits from being poached by a bigger school late in the process. Diamonds in the rough will be harder to come by now that coaches from bigger schools have more time to spend recruiting in Jan vs babysitting commits.

Good for the kids too. Can get recruiting out of the way early and if they don’t sign early, they get more attention in the Jan period.

Was just bad timing that it came when osu had a coaching change. Next year will be better.

Overall, it could help small schools since they can in theory protect good players from going to a big school late. But we’ll see

    • There are 2 reasons why early signing period is a good thing:

      1) allows the recruit to focus on their studies if they aren’t an early enrollee. Or, allows early enrollees to focus on learning the playbook, hit the weight room with the team immediately.

      2) allows the coaches to turn their attention on who they need to go after to finish strong in the recruiting process with clips from other colleges. They can now focus harder on the 3-4* range kids that may have been 2-3* kids before the early signing period.

This is the first year of the early LOI signing day; so new hires and established coaches are all testing this one out. It’s phase 1 and phase 2. Phase 1 targets are kids who are willing to sign early. Phase 2 is to go after the recruits who want to sign later to allow more options. Think of kickball on the school grounds or having 2 draft rounds instead of 1. It allows the evaluators to assess ‘who’s left’?

  15. I have and never will understand people who get so over hyped about verbal commitments. Hell, even if/when a kid signs, that does not guarantee; 1) they’re going to qualify or even make it on campus and 2) no matter what their “rating” is, that they will end up being productive. If they make it into Spring, you’re part of the way there but nothing is set until at least game 1!

Craig Evans, Shurod Thompson, Harris Ross even a guy like Christian Wallace (a 4* athlete that didn’t see the field on a 1-11 football team)! This is just recent history!

It’s realistic to not get too excited or too low about any class this early in the game!

    Go Beavs!

      • Good point OOB! He even performed pretty well in his first season here (all things considering). Came in way too heavy and slow as all get out in the ’17 season. Couldn’t defeat a block to save his life either. Very disappointing!

Has anyone heard what the base defense will be this season? Are they sticking with the 3-4 or perhaps going back to a 4-3? I would be very curious to see how some of the longer, rangier younger OLBs could do as 4-3 defensive ends? Also, maybe a guy like Aydon could do a little better coming into camp in shape plus not taking so many double teams?!

        Go Beavs!

        • i haven’t seen any Tibesar interviews since he’s been hired but he is coming from a 3-4 system at Wiscy. Unless the roster dictates otherwise I think they are sticking with the 3-4.

          • 3-4 makes sense at whiskey as their able to recruit a plethora of large men for both sides of the line.

It makes little to no sense here at OSU until we can start grabbing 2-3 solid nose tackles per class, which just isn’t realistic until we get a few winning seasons and establish an identity of being a smash mouth defense who puts big boys in the league.

Didn’t 9 say they’d look analyze their team and scheme to strengths? Need to abandon 3-4 as our base and put more bodies on the dl. I assume we’ll head that direction.

          • Not likely to hear from Tibesar till he finishes the bowl game; don’t like the idea of letting him remain with Wiscy for their bowl but that’s “nice guy” Smith i suppose.

      • Valid point, but I would argue that a higher ranked class has a better chance of producing better college players. Concern is valid considering this may be one of the lowest ranked classes in the past 20 years. Additionally, I see no options on the OL and DL that will be able to contribute within the next couple of years. Without solid players in those spots the talent at skill positions will go underutilized. Hopefully we see the hogs in Smith’s next recruiting class as we have failed to recruit these positions effectively for nearly a decade.

      • I never liked Aydon.

        His recruiting review on AB:

        **
Elu Aydon — This guy has the size, but boy does he look clumsy out there. Looks to play with low football IQ (runs around aimlessly and relies on brute strength). Doesn’t play with passion. A huge project. I would not be surprised if he doesn’t play until his junior year.
        ——

He shouldn’t have even been in the discussion for playing time until this upcoming season.

        • Real question and even a compliment:

You are pretty spot on your evaluations, so what do you think of Hodgins? I really liked his film, plays with decent leverage, very mobile, changes directions nice, and has a great pedigree. Beef this kid up, and I think he could be a stud.

          • Much better looking player than Aydon. Tackles too high up and also plays too high, in general. Has a tendency to lasso players to the ground, which hints at a lack of strength and also the tendencies mentioned above. Needs weight and strength, then reassess. The 3 star is accurate but he needs a RS, imo.

    • The craziest thing about the whole C Wallace situation is that Corey Hall said he needed to learn how to go backwards, and learn to backpedal…. whereas Nick Saban flat out said, “backpedaling is the most overrated aspect of being a cornerback”….. if the dude can ball, let the kid play. And Christian could flat out ball, not to mention the kids that knew how to backpedal in our secondary apparently didn’t know how to get out of that backpedal and not get beat alllllll the time.

  16. Three guys I think who can potentially contribute right away:

    1. J. Irish – His tape was spectacular in my opinion. Apparently that’s a good league per someone with familiarity. You saw a football player dominating in multiple ways. Also his feet and route running are polished for a HS kid. Seems like a guy that could help early to me.

    2. Deshuan Wilson – Great feet , good size.. good ball skills and a sound tackler. Seems like a perfect Nickle guy who should be able to cover and make plays in space for us. Need 2-3 guys on d like this at all times in today’s game

    3. Bradley Bickler – PREDICATING that they play him at D End. This kid is a long rangy explosive athlete. This is the kind of versatile rush end I’ve been clamoring for us to get. Last year we played basically 3 slow tackles on the front and got man handled as a result. Bickler already has the frame to play end. He’s a thick 6’7 245 put on 10-15 pounds of good strength weight and we have an end who can help get some disruption on D right way.

      • No clue how fast he is but if he’s playing End obviously shuttle times are more important than .40
        https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4059766/59db9f8a2aa63612c4053d9a

His tape shows really quick feet and agility though especially when he is playing QB. I’d guess he’s a 4.7-4.8 guy based on what we see of him on offense ( running by some Db’s). But the quick burst athleticism is what I look for in a guy this tall. He’s not a plodder meaning he can quick twitch to pass rush or react against the run.

The thing I noticed with him on D is he already understands to focus on low man wins and pad level and that’s big for him since he is tall as fuck. He’ll still need some technique refinement but with that size and length he can be disruptive as hell. The thing I like is he doesn’t need to do much from a physical standpoint other than getting stronger.

    • Also: Smalls is a wild card they (Dorsey) played against my cousins school this year and he needs some work in the weight room / conditioning to play and contribute early on. A skilled dude but he seemed to get tired / take plays off in that game at least.

      • Golly, he only took plays off? What a hard worker! I took entire games off. That young man needs to find better balance in life. MailingItInMike#

  17. OT: WBB up by 3 at the end of 1qtr. TO’s for Beavs=6, UC D=0
    Marie rebounding, dribbling!, and scoring.
    Stream: http://pac-12.com/live/oregon-state-university

UPDATE: At the half, Beavs up 34-30, lead in TO’s too: 8-one!
Both teams are 100% on FT’s, UC D shooting 44% on 3pt., Beavs 25%. Expect those 3pt %s to be much closer in 2nd half.

FINAL: Beavs win 61-47 despite 18 TO’s thanks to 57-35 advantage in Reb. Three pt %: Beavs 29, UC D 21.

  18. I disagree with a lot of you guys. I like what I’m seeing from Jonathan Smith. Appreciate the cerebral angle. They have a lot of work to do with recruiting, but I see a lot of Petersen in him.

Yeah, he tied an albatross around his neck and he’s Jonathan Riley for now, but I think he’ll work out despite that.

    • I’m officially taking the opposite angle.

      First he hired Simple Jack.

      Then he immediately lost Petras.

He’s shown nothing that inspires confidence.

Hope ain’t a plan, but this is Oregon State. Hip hip hooray.

      • I understand all that, but I think cerebral coaches are a good thing. In his presser today he was sharp and hinted he’s going to run the show more like Petersen than Riley and that he made that clear to Mike.

        • I don’t know what to think about the whole Riley coming back thing. I did think that Smith’s “I am the boss” comments seemed a little coached and stilted, as if he’s aware there is a discernible backlash to Riley coming back and he wanted his verbiage to reflect that.

I guess that’s ok if he really is the boss. It kind of begs the question in my mind if he is from the Petersen coaching tree then why bother with Riley? Like he said, he only worked with him for a year. Does he really need Riley?

          • Exactly. If he really learned what he needed to from Petersen he wouldn’t need training wheels. He’d grab this motherfucker by the balls and drag it where he wanted it to be.

          • WFO, I totally agree. Use Riley and Ericksons’ experience by contacting them outside of the program! Don’t bring either on staff if you’re trying to prove yourself as a new HC.

The conflict of interest I see here is Riley brought Smith in as a walk-on back in the day, then Smith was a grad asst. on both Erickson and Riley’s staffs, now Smith returns as the HC and Riley is looking for a job… do you think Smith just leaves Riley out in the cold? Nope! The real question now is; was this pity? Or is Smith shitting the bed right now and just wants a safety net?

I don’t truly know right now but I will say that during the signing period, it was a little discouraging to hear a Riley quote about a player (K Rogers) being a such a “versatile” player I believe. Then Smith leaves a tweet to K Rogers after he signed, saying that it was great to have such a “versatile” player aboard. (roll eyes) Really!? Kinda weak. Sounds like someone is trying to be like their idol to me.

            Go Beavs!

        • I liked hearing that about Petersen, expecially that JS told Riley he wanted to run the ship from what he learned at UW. Hopefully he learned and absorbed alot. Riley can help navigate the recruiting/scheduling/academic pit-falls. We’ll see. Proof be in the pudding.

      • I wonder about Petras’ IQ. He had a chance at some pretty great offers and following in the footsteps of Jared Goff at Cal due to the same HS and similarities. He commits to us and stays with it through the GA drama, then flips. I tend to agree with Euhus’ feelings about it.

        • I question his decision making and ability to think for himself, seemed like an emotional knee-jerk decision based on peer pressure, rather than him stopping and thinking it through. Like somebody else said on here, if he likes to step back and pass maybe 20 times during a game, then so be it.

          • He will get to play behind a good O line, but he will not see the field for two years barring injury.
I now have a specific player player to hate on the Hogeyes.

    • Players make plays and players win football games, no matter who says it, it is true!

You can have the smartest and most passionate football coaches but in a situation like this (that Oregon State football is currently in) a new HC is going to struggle, as are most coaches no matter their experience. Smith knows the offensive side of the ball but lacks knowledge and experience on the defensive side as well as special teams.

Besides, most of being a HC has very little to actually do with coaching on the field (about 20% of the job). It’s about; managing the; team/staff, recruiting, dealing with boosters/parents, scheduling, meetings, public/media relationships…etc. This is why hiring great assistants is the key to any great head coach! Great experienced assistants will get it done on the field, in the film room and on the road- recruiting. But they do need the players (both coachable and talented).

      Go Beavs!

  19. Used properly, the early signing day should benefit schools like OSU and Minnesota.
The blue bloods will still be fighting over the prime players, but now will have less time to poach
their plan B guys which are usually our plan A guys. It has always been disheartening to see long term commits flip at the last moment after getting on offer from a “better football program.”
Somebody asked yesterday what the percentage was of verbals that signed yesterday.
In the B1G it was close to 90% according to BTN.
