I’m sticking with 28-21 Beavs.

My thinking is Daniels’ mobility is key to this game, and Bray will put a spy on him. I liked seeing more 4-3, too. Just works better at this level. Put a spy on Daniels, sell out on the run, and then run the ball on offense. That’s the formula.

Some wildcards like crowd, weather, coaching are all in the Beav’s favor.

    • Several examples of solid tackling by Utes in that half, can Bray develop the same?
The third TD was an example of what can be done by running right at Kavon Thib.

  1. I’m not sure whether to be happy that the Ducks are getting destroyed or pissed that it’s those mother fuckers from Utah providing this beat down.

    I wish both could lose.

  2. ASU has a great run game. Good backs and Daniels can scoot. Gotta contain him to be in this game…and for the good Chance to show up. Sadly, think ASU wins this one despite their bad record in the NW late in the season. Unfortunately, I’m a house divided tonight as the wife graduated from ASU and I need the bragging rights but Devils 35 Beavs 24.

      • Their record in general is a result of weak SOS. Their best win is UCLA. Losses to both ranked opponents (BYU and Utah.)

To their credit, they’ve taken care of inferior opponents (unlike the Beavs.)

      • I’d say the Beavs defense has been pretty bad a good portion of the year. Hope Bray can slow em down but even when we had good defenses the mobile qb has always been a problem for us. Would love to be wrong though!

  3. Hah, calked it last week regarding McKinley’s injury….karma bitch, karma for your dirty play on Gebbia last season on the goal line. He’s out for the remainder of this game and hopefully rest of the year. Karma is a bitch and right now McKinley is the bitch.

  4. The tackling ability difference between Utah and quack is astounding.
Along with “good” Nolan we need a dose of the Utah style tackling tonight.

  5. I’m pretty ok with hyper aggressive calls when defense can’t stop anything. A game like this is a totally different animal. Defense is playing real well- give them the chance to perform.

  6. ASU with more penalties in the first half means the refs will call a bunch of crap calls in us in the second half to even things out.

  7. Worst coaching mistake of the year: Not firing Tibesar earlier.

Imagine winning this game (remains to be seen, but looking good so far) then winning the civil war only to send the cougs to the championship game. I might puke.

    • To be fair, not sure smith knew Tibs was the issue early on in the season when you are looking at personnel. Defense was decent against Purdue, Washington, and usc. Then it fell apart against wazzu, Utah, cal, and Colorado. Not sure you can fire the guy after one or two bad games. I would have been fine moving on after last season but knew smith wouldn’t.

  8. On that targeting review, Looked like #0 tried to kick Bradford in the head?

ASU getting mouthy and pushy after the whistle after the Nolan TD, frustration showing, that could catch up to them. Hope they implode in second half.

Also, when Baylor is running like that, keep riding him…dude is feeling it.

  9. I always felt that Tibs was holding this team back. I never dreamed it was by this much. Maybe it is a mix between Tibs being so bad at his job and Bray being good at his job.

    • I’m sure Bray is consulting with Bray senior, definitely way better on containing ASU’s speedy players. Night and day difference from Tibesar.

  10. I still don’t understand the Beavs chances at the Pac 12 North. Several announcer comments and/or graphics have said Beavs control their destiny but then one has also mentioned we’d also need WSU to lose to UW next week (which was also mentioned by several posters here on AB).

  11. Just caught up. Great 1st half. Crowd is poppin and team is feeling it. Baylor looks like a dude in a mission. Hayes has a massive leg and is making the ASU kicker look terrible. Absolutely love what Bray is doing with the defense. Great zone blitz scheme with lots of confusion. Scheme puts the corners on an island but Daniels is only averaging 4 seconds before he has to avoid or throw.

    Uniforms are the tits

  12. Daniels has a crazy body. Like he plays college ball so he must be pretty strong but he looks like he’s never done leg day. So weird.

What a grinding drive. If we just rush right back they will never catch up

  13. At the game. Drunk. Not really watching the game much. Winning. Better defense then normal. Stout beer. Gonna feel it in the morning.

  14. Every single conference loss Chance has missed on so many big plays. He’s the glaring weakness on offense. They’re containing the running game a lot better in the second half but I’d prefer they just run every down instead of letting Chance throw it cause he’s a mess. This offense would be nuts with a QB with accuracy. That’s the missing piece

  15. Obviously we should throw on all three downs on this next drive. Nolan might get it close.

In all seriousness if we throw, let’s try a screen pass.

I gotta correct mysefl from a post above as I was not correct. WSU CAN still win the north. But they need ASU to win tonight, win the crapple cup and the Beavs to win the civil war.

    17-10. Nervous here

    • 1
      1

      No. That isn’t correct either.

That would put WSU and Oregon tied. Oregon wins that tiebreaker. I see no scenario that WSU wins the north no matter what happens tonight. That ended with Cal winning the big game.

I’ll write up the scenarios after the game.

And as I type, the hammer takes it to the house on 4th and 2.

  17. That was pretty solid long speed for a big guy! Haha Colletto needs to never come off the field. Not joking anymore.

We should run way more Colletto at FB to attack stacked boxes.

    • Next year he’s gonna end up with a state line like 1 int, 2 sacks, 6 tackles, 2 Rush TD, 1 Recieving TD and 1 passing TD. 7 total yards.

  18. Big leg but he’s not reliable with the easy ones. Maybe we could try the two kicker thing? Find someone who only kicks inside 35 yards but is trustable?

  19. 14

Bray deserves a lot of credit. This defense looked completely different. Gave up 10 pts. but 7 were because the punter dropped the ball. I like that he played different players and he blitzed and put pressure on the qb. The defense played with emotion and that is a reflection on coaching. I think he deserves a shot at the DC position.

  20. 13

So pleased that the old ass Parker side gets sent off with an undefeated season and a mostly clean win. Baylor with the most workman 150 yards ever. 7-4, we are better than my expectation for the season!

Corrected record. Sorry I’m high AF and drunk enough.

  21. What a weird season. 3 loss Utah clinches and if we take care of business then our hopes lay with the results of an apple cup with no head coaches. Dafuck

  22. A good day in Oregon for wins and losses.
Beavs have a shot at the North and a good bowl while the PR machine in Beaverton is working hard to make sure the duks are just number 4 after their loss.

Here are the multiple team tie breakers…………

    Multiple-Team Ties:

The following procedures will only be used to eliminate all but two teams, at which point the two-team tie-breaking procedure will be applied.

    1. Head-to-head (Best record in games among the tied teams).
    2. Record in games played within the division.
    3. Record against the next highest placed team in the division (based on record in all games played within the conference), proceeding through the division.
    4. Record in common conference games.
    5. Highest ranking by SportSource Analytics Following the last weekend of regular-season games.

If Oregon wins the civil war, they win the north. The Crapple Cup does not matter

If Oregon State wins the civil war, then…………..

If UW wins the Crapple Cup, OSU wins the North. IF WSU wins the Crapple Cup, Oregon wins the North.

    • Yep need wsu to lose. Than it’s just win the game Saturday. Perfect scenario that the apple cup is Friday. We will know what can happen exactly before kickoff

    • 4
      1

Scenario above has a false. If WSU and OSU win its WSU to win North. If WSU wins $ OSU loses its UofO gets North. If UW wins its a civil war for the North. Really quite simple. And no matter what crappples give, OSU plays to remove UofO from the picture.

    • I still think you’re wrong about this. Canzano said it. Parker said it on the radio broadcast. The fact that you can still gamble on WSU to win the Pac-12 should tell you that you’re wrong.

      • LOL. It was written on Twitter so it must be TRUE!

I’m going by the verbiage written on the tiebreaker procedures ON THE PAC-12 website.

The first two multiple tiebreaker procedures do not eliminate TWO teams.

How do you READ that differently???

        • I apologize….

          “ALL BUT TWO TEAMS”

          2 DOES NOT DO THAT.

It eliminates ALL but one team. The verbiage states this…..

          Multiple-Team Ties:

The following procedures WILL ONLY BE USED TO ELIMINATE ALL BUT TWO TEAMS, AT WHICH POINT THE TWO TEAM TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURE WILL BE APPLIED.

So you’re saying the Pac-12 website is wrong and Twitter is correct?

        • More than the fact that I’ve seen everyone else but you agree with me, like I said, you can still gamble on WSU to win the conference. In the scenario you outlined above there is no way for WSU to win the conference. That’s what you said. Sportsbooks aren’t leaving a team up there that doesn’t have a shot to win. I also think that was a 2020 specific stipulation, considering it was a shorter season. Look at that date on the article. Blame the Pac-12 for not being clear about this either way.

          • If that is the case then the Pac-12 website is incorrect. That article was posted on July 31, 2020.

            Unless the Pac-12 clarifies this?

You, sportsbooks, Parker and Twitter are not correct.

          • But it’s all pointless to argue about anyways like I said earlier today. There’s only one way the Beavs can win and that’s all I care about.

          • 1
            2

I also agree that you are right that the wording does indicate that it would eliminate teams until there are two left. I think at least where I don’t understand is the fact that WSU would stand alone in that 2nd tiebreaker at 4-1 in North games. So why doesn’t that mean they win? Because the way you are describing it means that we use that 2nd tiebreaker determine WSU is one of the “two teams” and then we go Oregon and OSU more advanced tiebreakers to find out who that second team is? That doesn’t make sense to me. I would be upset as a WSU fan if that scenario happened the way you laid it out. Why should they be forced to go back into the two team tiebreaker scenario when we had the best record of the 3 teams in the multi team tiebreaker? I just think it’s all screwy and the wording could possibly be a little more clear. Because the key phrase “used to eliminate teams until just two teams remain” doesn’t mean, at least to me, that you HAVE to go down to two teams. That’s just what they do so that they can go down to 2 teams. If you ask me, Oregon and Oregon State are “eliminated” because they both would have a worse North record. To me, if WSU stands alone at 4-1, it makes the most logical sense they should be the winner, not be forced out because of some weird “elimination” process where Oregon State gets knocked out and then Oregon goes to Vegas because of the H2H win over WSU. I’m sure it’ll be more clear throughout the week as the media covers this. I still think I’m right, or at least my logic is right. But again, Beavs have 1 path.

    • Before Saturday night’s game, OSU plans to honor the departing seniors on its roster. Those honored also includes several players who have college eligibility remaining, but have graduated and are thinking about making a run at the NFL. Coach Jonathan Smith said they’re welcome back next season if they decide to return. Those honored tonight are QB Sam Noyer, CB Elijah Jones, DT Keonte Schad, OL Noah Seumalo, OL Korbin Sorensen, WR Trevon Bradford, C Nathan Eldridge, OL Brandon Kipper, OL Nous Keobounnam, RB B.J. Baylor, OLB Andrzej Hughes-Murray, DB Jaydon Grant, ILB Avery Roberts.

Why did the Beavs ever ditch their 2000 look. The helmets weren’t great, but the unis were tight.

Also – is Smith recruiting a Coletto replacement? Can’t imagine that part of the offense will go away when he graduates.

  25. 13

The Pac12 results for OSU are so much the polar opposite of what most people would have predicted going into the season.

Who would think OSU would get their Ws against:USC/UW/Utah/Stanford/ASU
    With losses to: WSU/Cal/Colorado?

The biggest factor seems to he home field but we did manage to put in a good game at USC, so why not next week too?

    • 2
      1

The x-factor in those three losses feels more like Tibs shitting the bed and JS being a little too heavy with his 4th down trigger finger than it does Home vs. Away. You could add the offensive game-plan seemingly playing away from the teams strengths as well. There’s an argument to be made that the Purdue game could be chalked up to having the wrong QB1.

It’s been a fun and emotional season and I’m grateful for it as a fan, but not without it’s mistakes and blunders.

Remember when Cory Hall had them jumping on the O pre-game at Autzen? Feels good that it seems like that was so long ago now (it wasn’t).

    • The ducks were never elite. That was all a mirage with preseason ranking and luck getting Ohio state before they figured out their own issues. They’re faster than the beavs and have home field advantage. Beavs are better in every other area. Should be a good close game if both teams play well.

      • They got a LOT of perception “value” out of that Ohio State win. Lost to Stanford, looked pedestrian against a few other, non-ranked teams. They never looked genuinely elite, which I would think includes executing well in all three phases every week, balanced offense w/big play capability, taking care of the ball on O, getting TOs on D. Most wins in control, win on the road.

        • I think to beat Oregon you just have to establish early you’re going to be more physical than they are. They are prima donnas who want to play the soft game.

          • I think you need to make them a passing team. Don’t allow 5 yards on 1st down and they start to stray from the run game. Even moreso if you can force negative yardage on 1st down. And once they start passing, they’re very vulnerable to getting picked or just flat out missing open receivers because Brown isn’t very accurate

  26. Anyone ever use a Starbucks to stream a game? I’m going to be driving home from the in laws when the civil war kicks off. I’m going to have to leave earlier then find somewhere to stop 3hrs and stream.

      • I doubt it. I’ll be somewhere in Iowa or Nebraska at kickoff.

Also, someone posted a really nice YT link to the game last night. Will that be available Saturday? Need to find a good reliable stream.

          • Thanks. I’d need that. But I won’t have access to my email addy. Any chance you could post a Discord link in this thread? Also, if that person above who posted a YT link could do that again, would really appreciate it. Have to see this game somehow…!

          • https://v2.sportsurge.net/… it a site that collects streams, good for all sports. As always most of the streams are full of ads and pop ups. As long as you are competent and know how to navigate around them, this is the only way to go. Sometimes the streams work better than the network apps lol

  27. JS commented at last week’s presser that he wasn’t on board with the bad 4th down call/play. This week he looked similarly ticked about the short kick-off in the second half.

I wonder if he is really trying to be more of a CEO than we realize and his assistants have quite a bit of autonomy to be creative and take chances during the games.

I’m encouraged that he has the same reaction I do on some of these plays at least. I also wonder if Nolan has the liberty to switch to of a running olay into a pass play given what he sees from the defense. We can’t really know this, but it also may explain some of the mystifying pass instead of run series, to give Lindgren the benefit of the doubt.

Great win by the Beavs, now just beat the Ducks. Brown looked like he got pummelled by Utah early in that game and his top 3 recievers are not available for next week. Sell out to stop the run and force Brown to win with his arm. Repeat the same game-plan as ASU but commit to running all over the Ducks.

Colletto went Legend status with that run, and I expect there is a play out of the wildcat for him to get a TD pass on his resume as well.

    • 4
      7

Stop making excuses for him. If he doesn’t want bad 4th down calls or bad kickoffs then they won’t happen. Do you see Saban’s coaches doing things like that? At the end of the day it’s a Smith problem. Buck stops there. I think these are his decisions, though. Very odd if a coach defers huge game-changing decisions like that to assistants.

      • 7
        1

Not so much seeking excuses but rather an explanation for JS demeanor. I am with you on all of the gambling and I’ve wondered if he shifts to more by the book risk taking as the team improves, but this year has proven he may be the issue on the gambling.

Probably the smart football minds on his staff all tend towards over-thinking, including Tibs. Bray may be the only guy that has a lot of knowledge/game iq and is able to keep form outsmarting himself, which is why the team is responding.

A really smart guy sometimes needs to continue showing how smart he is and the basic/simple strategy becomes boring.

  28. 4

Glad I went to bed at halftime.

Underrated in this final is Loecher’s punting line: 3 punts, average of 51 yards, all inside the 20 (with that one awesome one downed at the 1 yard line.)

    Dude should be All-Conference.

Hayes may be the Hekker of kickers. He has the leg to go on and be a really good NFL kicker if he can learn to hit the easy ones. Weird that he has no problem with XP’s, but has missed some short FG’s.

  29. It’s in the PAC-12’s best interest to have the refs screw the Cougs to the moon in the Apple Cup. A primetime Civil War with the North on the line would be amazing.

  30. My favorite part about last night? Hearing Rod Gilmore bitching about teams from AZ and CA having to com ‘north’ to play in November!

    • Gilmore likes to hear himself talk. Do you remember the 9-yard come-back route to I think, Bradford and Gilmore was babbling about the great ASU defense on the play? It was a fucking nine-yard completion, who cares if the defender was right on him and pushed him back. The Beavs easily got the first down on the next play because of the completion!

      • Haha, my friends and I were laughing about that during the game. 9 yard completion on 1st down and he compmiments the covereage on the play. He was “bad take” guy over and over last night

  31. 10

Beav’s overcome my presence in Reser and have great win. The fumbled punt being the only oh…f you have to be kidding me moment.
Stadium atmosphere was great even with a small crowd.
FTD and let’s win the Civil War!

  32. 1
    1

Who to cheer for next week
    Cal, UW, Arizona,

    All for bowl game purposes.

Beavs seem destined for the sun bowl if the standings hold. Not sure Vegas or holiday bowl would choose beavs over UCLA or ASU.

      • Plus we have the best offense in the PAC 12. The bowls want high scoring games. We do some exciting things like going for it on 4th down all the time, that should make us even more attractive. Plus they can talk about Colletto so even the sideline reporters will be excited lol

  33. ASU 4/11 on third downs, held to an even 100 yards rushing.

Looked like ASU biggest plays came when ISU linebackers were covering receivers/rb receivers.

Schad appeared to have his most disruptive game of the season? Or has he had better ones? I’ve not seen them all.

    • Per daschel..

‘When Tibesar was fired two weeks ago, Oregon State ranked 127th among 130 FBS schools nationally in third down defense. The Beavers have turned that statistic on its head the past two weeks under Bray. Stanford and Arizona State were both 4 of 11 on third down. That conversion rate of 36.3% would rank 39th nationally if it were the case over an entire season.

Better yet is third and long, which plagued the Tibesar Beavers. Stanford and Arizona State were a combined 1 of 6 on third and long against the OSU defense.’

So far Bray has made a huge difference

      • I don’t get it. Was Tibesar overthinking things? I’ve heard “simplifying” mentioned a couple of times. The Linebackers suddenly look quicker to the ball. The DB’s are in better spots more than not. Real pressure is being created on pass rushes and the D-line is not getting pushed back three yards on the inside runs. It’s obvious Kyrie Fisher didn’t think much of Tibs, but I’m sure he was looking for more playing time (after last night he deserves it). Others players are being tactful. I wonder how divisive Tibs was and if JS waited a season too long before making a change? This could have been a special season with more consistent defense.

        • There is the “smart/anlytical” and the “emotional”.
I’m thinking now that Tibs fell in the first camp; focused on technique and overall, almost philosophical, principles.
OTOH Bray emphasizes effort and “fight”. At the same time he recognizes you have to get pressure on the QB!

        • More pressing receivers with zone blitzes. Less delayed blitzes. Basically the philosophy is being manifest in the play calling. The best way to stop an offense is pressure them and take it to them. The defensive call of rushing 3 and zone coverage is rarely called, now. This was a Tibs go to. This can work but mostly against air raid offenses that are looking for vacancies in the zone. It also requires a good secondary and good coverage linebackers. In short Tibs could not figure out scheme and play call to our strengths.

ASU has had their offense shut down about 3-4 times this season. Oregon will be an even better test of Bray as I believe they have been shut down once.

      • Liked what the defense did vs ASU, it was disruptive and fun to watch. Seemed like they gave up more than one 3rd and long…no just another third that went for long, 24 yards…Sparkys didn’t do themselves many favors with all the offensive penalties, thou, often putting themselves way behind the sticks on 3rd. Can’t really get too excited about 4/11 against Stanford thou, they’re converting 3rd downs at 34% for the season and they played second, third and fourth string qbs. Need a bigger sample size; if Beavs keep $ucks to less than their season avg then maybe they’ve got what they need heading into bowl season.

  34. 3
    1

Smith needs to copy Utahs game plan. It’s a similar one he has had success with. Limit Nolan’s passing. Run the ball. Utah didn’t go away from it yesterday. Can smith fight the urge and do it for two halves next week?

    • I would certainly dissect every inch of that Utah-Oregon game to game plan against the ducks. On another note, I would hate to have to play THAT particular Utah team in the PAC 12 championship game; I think Alabama would have had a difficult time winning that one! Maybe it would be different on a neutral field, hopefully we will find out.

    • They also showed how to easily neutralize Kayvon T with extra TEs blocming or just simple directing the play towards the opposite side of the field. Gotta resist the urge to hold him when blocking though

      • Agree, and add that, as the third Utah TD demonstrated, running at KT can also work. Requires those extra blockers, and the Beavs have ’em in the TE group.
Thought KT was a disappointment to quack fans last night.
A last thought on him, as pointed out here a few days back, he can look worn out late in the game.

  35. EARLY VEGAS ODDS….limited sites:
WSU 3pt dogs to…well the dogs
OSU 13pt dogs to…the hype operation in Eugene

Repeat 13 pt dogs…will that go on a bulletin board?

  36. NiceBeav – you hear anything about the recruit reactions who were visiting yesterday? Sounds like a pretty amped crowd was present, and I’m hoping some of them came away with a favorable impression.

    • Some have posted about having a good time but that’s all I’ve seen. Official visitors are still on campus and traveling home today, so probably wont hear anything on that front. Wouldnt surprise me if we land the Juco CB Cooper in the near future.
Oliver may take a little longer. Knaak still has another 2 visits to take.

  37. 11
    1

A little of a minor point with possibilities ahead, but last night’s win guaranteed the first winning season since 2013 also. Finishing 6-6 with the dreaded bowl loss still gives a team a losing season. That has now been avoided. Good on The Beavs!

  38. I was out last night so only caught bits and pieces of the ASU game. I predicted a loss of 38-21 for the beavers and glad that I was wrong. I’ll watch my recording of the game later today. I have no idea about the Civil War game though.
This season has been so unpredictably strange so it’s hard to know what to expect. I wouldn’t have given the beavs much of a shot two weeks ago, but it now appears the beavers at least have a shot…it really depends on which two teams show up. Will Oregon be disappointed about not being in the CFP and suffer a letdown? Will OSU finally put together a complete game like they did vs Utah, usc, Stanford, etc.? I think the game will be close and it will depend on which team owns the LOS. if OSU gets the running game going, they could wear down the ducks D line. If not, I don’t think Nolan and the beavers can beat the ducks by passing. BTW, looks like karma bit McKinley in the ass last night and ir sounds like he’s out for the Civil war game and that’s very appropriate given his dirty play on Gebbia on the goal line. I hoped karma would bite him and I posted that comment on AB not too long ago…thank you karma. Go beavs!

    • Weird question, but since you bring up McKinley. I’m wondering if college athletes are exempt from any civil lawsuits for their actions during the course of a competition? McKinley’s action was clearly not a “football play” and what if it has ended Gebbia’s career?

      • Good question but I don’t know the answer. Civil cases have different legal standards than in a criminal case so it would definitely be interesting.

  39. 4
    1

What was the loss that was most galling for you? For me, WSU. Bad fourth down call by smith, lack of Baylor and/or Fenwick at end when they had been unstoppable. Such a winnable game and another streak would have ended. Also, obviously key for positioning in North.

  40. For masochists, Beav’s MBB is now on (P12 Network). Calloo out with knee tendinitis. Akano starting in his place. Davis and Andela starting. Hunt a minor injury, but available.

  41. Vegas:
A couple hours makes a difference with the books, WSU now favored by 2
Beavs, no longer 13 pt dogs, now 7.
Still limited books reporting but I’ll guess the lines don’t move much more.

  42. Broken record, Princeton is 6-12 from three land, but it’s 22-22 with about 8 minutes left in the half. Big Tinks is losing it, more animated, sweat pouring out on the sideline.

    • I don’t know, but I hope this team doesn’t set it. Princeton dismantling the Beav defense to start the second half up 49-42 with about 16 minutes left.

  43. 1

Beavs down 10 with about 6 minutes left. Hunt put back in the game, doesn’t draw iron on a three, and forces a wild lay-up. So much for “athleticism” also, Princeton has 12 offensive rebounds.

      • Well, they are storming back with the 1-3-1. Only down two with 2:40 left. Never mind, just gave up an open three, Davis misses a short pull-up. Down six with under two, game most likely over.

Beavs lose 81-80. Princeton had 13 offensive rebounds to 5 for the Beavs. Nice comeback, but too little too late once again. Weird game, Beavs shot 56% from the field and lost. Princeton made six more threes and nine more free throws.

    • Beavers have the talent to be 5-0 right now and should be but Wayne’s strategy on offense is extremely outdated for today’s basketball. If you’re gonna play more for paint points and give up threes, you have to crush teams in free throw attempts but the Beavers don’t have a guy who can get to the line 7-8 times a night at minimum. Losing the three point and free throw battles creates a very low opportunity at wins. They should realistically be attempting double the threes. They have talented shooters but Wayne insists on playing a style that just isn’t conducive to winning anymore. They went 7 of 15 from 3. They should have hunted threes a lot more. Wayne wasting a talented team.

Beavs MBB lose 81-80. Team gets itself in position amd then seems like it is content in allowing shots with a reasonable chance of falling for the opponent. When down 2 I wanted a Lucas three that would have a chance to fall and give a chance at a rebound. The Davis shot came from pretty close range but he was taking on 2 players. Could tell he wanted to take it. Thought we could get a better look than that. Tinkle still not putting this team together right. They give bad teams too many good looks at 3s, which is a recipe for inferior teams to beat them.

Beavs back into the “Others receiving votes category.” A win next week should put us into the Top 25 to end the season, right?

While I am disappointed with the Men’s basketball program currently. I did notice that the 4 teams they have lost to are a combined 14-3. Something to chew on. Who knows if that will continue but I suppose we will see.

  48. Just for fun:
If Beavs actually get to the Rose Bowl,
    1) Who is the most likely opponent from the Big Ten? OSU, Michigan, WIsconson, MSU, Minnesota, Iowa all are close to winning their division with 1 game, I don’t know their tie-breakers etc.
    2) Who do you prefer they play? I’d like to play Michigan or Iowa as both are somewhat 1 dimensional offensively and Beavs could have a real shot at winning against any but OSU likely.
    3) Is Rose Bowl assured at a minimum the #2 team from both conferences after the palyoff seeding?

  49. Didn’t realize UO had been putting up such rushing totals:

“The Ducks had rushed for 300 yards in each of their past two games, but managed just 63 against Utah. Safeties Cole Bishop and Vonte Davis led the way with seven tackles apiece as Utah stuffed the box to stymie the run.”
