Angry will be disappointed after the Beavs roll to another victory. Another low drama win on the road this time.
Bray isn’t JS and the predictable foolhardy play calls aren’t going to be part of the is year so Angry needs to manufacture some drama instead. He will pick against OSU in every game against this “glorified high school schedule”.
Beavs by 2-3 touchdowns.
Even if OSU wins Angry will just keep using the “glorified HS Football” narrative he’s using this season. So, no matter how good OSU and/or individual players do this season, that will be his excuse as to why they are not lol
As much as I appreciate him running the site, Angry’s opinions aren’t relevant when he’s admitted he doesn’t really follow the team or college football anymore.
That said, the team didn’t look like they have a lot of swagger against ISU. I expect this one to be close, at least through the 3rd quarter. Our D is still questionable and who knows if we can move the ball well in the air.
Last year someone posted a link for an OSU CBS Sports Net game on YouTube. Pulled up on my phone and then just cast it to my TV. Does anyone think there is a likelihood of that again for this game?
Goddammit I just saw that tonight’s game is on CBS Sports Network which I don’t have. Thought it was on CW.
Honestly it’s exhausting keeping track of this shit every week.
Nebby may want to hold out the golden boy freshman for the 2nd half before the Buffs head hunt on him out of frustration.
Sanders hasn’t really learned clock management either. He is quite a fraud and so are his sons at this point. A lot of style and hype but very little substance when it really counts.
Wow, might have been the best 1st drive I’ve seen from an OSU team in years. Made the easy play over and over and executed well. Almost too easy.
And McCoy making the quick decisive passes on target, I’m just not used to this.
Sounds like Beavs have several starters out, but so far you wouldnt know it. Backups are stepping up. Hope depth doesnt become an issue in the 2nd half
How can we have had so many bad kickers for the last 8 years or so. It’s really impressive. This has that “you’ve let them hang around too long and it’s gonna bite you in the ass” feels to it. Beavs have looked better in just about every aspect yet the Azteca are in it and if they can clean up their penalties, this could get real interesting.
Defense has looked really good. Closed down spacing in pass game. Better Tackling. Drawing Holding calls. Not allowing really anything on the ground, against a stellar back. Just keep it up. Offense is moving. Only a matter of time until they punch it in.
Tanner walker needs to walk his ass home and not see the field again. He’s garbage. Turned a first and goal into a rushed punt and completely shifted momentum against the beavs.
I mean, we are a running team with a kicker that hasn’t shown consistency. But Hayes is good for 1/2. I say kick it. Especially with your defense playing the way it is.
We are witnessing the dawn of a Whittingham-like era of OSU football. Bray will have a defense regularly hold teams under 20 points. Add to that an offenses that grinds over teams and you have a great recipe for success over an extended period of time.
I think the Beavs will be feeling better about themselves next week than the Ducks will. Duck fan already has their grip on having to sweat out wins against teams they thought they’d beat by three scores.
My guess is the line will be Oregon plus 5 and half. And that will be bet down by Friday.
I didnt watch their game, but I guess oregon needed home cooking to het it done. A key BS targeting called against Boise in 2nd half took out one of their captains, and a Chad Johnson-esque fumble before crossing into the endzone was reviewed by refs and still called a TD.
Ball was clearly getting dropped before crossing the line.
Game review:
Some key errors that should be remembered and emphasized:
-2 missed field goals
-Walker dropped a perfect TD throw on a trick play
-Bad punt
-A couple of PI calls
-Richie special teams penalty
The defense is going to be pretty good.
Wide receivers are somewhat suspect if Walker is the primary target.
Ducks dbs will hold and push every receiver all game. Beavs need to be prepared for it.
Well, Clemons is supposed to be that guy but he’s still injured. I really hope for his sake that this isn’t how his college career goes…never seeing the field due to injuries. Injuries have really hurt this squad. Going into spring camp, it was a huge strength. Valsin and Clemons are the top 2, then Walker/Noga/Reddick/Card/Wells all fill that 3&4 spot. No Valsin, no Clemons and now it’s starting to look shaky. I do think Reddick, Card and Wells are more than capable, and I’ve been hearing Anderson has been open numerous times but they’ve went elsewhere with the ball.
dux nearly lose to Boise State. The fact it was a crappy last second win at home will be quickly forgotten by the media who fawn all over the dux.
I hate the dux.
The dux have every dollar they could ask for. They have the PR machine of nike creating their image. They are always camera ready. Their players may earn more as “students” than they will see in a first year contract with the NFL. But they never quite measure and they nearly lost at home (again) to a MW team. However, because of the aforementioned nike dollars, they start each season ranked in the top 5.
What fucking bullshit.
That was easily the most frustrating 21 point win I think I have ever witnessed.
Two straight Big 18 opponents coming up, in Reser, now we shall see what the team and staff are made of.
Seemed like a lot of penalties in the 2nd half.
Considering the injury situation, the outcome was pretty good. Offense needs more pass catchers. Walker is nice as a big target, but can’t be your yards after catch guy. Would be great as the #3 guy, not the #1 role like he’s having to fill.
Seems SDSU knew we didnt have passing weapons so they could risk playing close to the line and limiting the run.
Hope the Beavs get more bodies to rotate next week.
Clemons and Valsin were 1&2. Unfortunately, injuries have made you’re 3rd guy the primary, although, it would appear Reddick, Card and Wells are all much quicker and more explosive than Walker but for some reason he does stay as that #1 guy. Nice bounce back by him on that long catch, but that td drop still overshadowed that play imo. Especially for the guy who supposedly has the best hands on the team. Had a drop or two last week as well. Maybe as he gets used to starting and being in the moment, he’ll clean that up.
Some comparisons to consider as we look ahead to the CW.
Third down efficiency: Beavs 9/19, uck 4/12
Penalties: Beavs 8 for 85yds, uck 9/74yd
Times sacked: Beavs 0, uck 4
Fumbles: Beavs 0, uck 2
Biggest difference tonight was big plays by ucks, KO and punt returns to the house.
Very different matchups and contexts, with UO at home.
X-Factors: OSU QB Gabarri Johnson…OSU homefield…Bray+Gunderson+DeVan probably care more about preparing for and winning the game than Lanning et al…Gunderdon opening up playbook…referees protecting UO.
I think Lanning is overrated..he’s different than Mario Cristobal, but still underperforms, just in a different way.
Said before, and some do disagree, but one weakness in Eugene is the collection of prima-donnas and the management challenges that presents.
Punch uck early, watch what happens when they first fumble….that may be enough to break any team spirit they may have.
Why when I see the average yards per carry that it seems low compared to what i see when watching the game? It seems like it should easily be above 5 yards. This makes me a little nervous, like my perception of the run game isn’t aligned with the reality of the run game.
You have to account for the fact that San Diego State prepared to stop the run. And we still ran for over 200 yards. It is a good sign that Boise State ran for over 200 yards at Oregon.
3 YPC vs 8 packed into the box. The key was that we always seemed to get positive yards vs TFL. Our OL is pretty good and I’ve heard that some of our 2s and 3s are extremely talented. Future is bright and OL is deep.
Nice complete road win. Absolutely committed to run which opened up passing game. SDSU had 8 guys in box, was fully committed to stopping the run. Didn’t matter. Great play calling. OL, QB, and DL is better than expected. Physically dominant on both sides of ball. Aztecs will feel it tomorrow. Left 10+ points on the board with missed flea flicker and FGs but still dominated. 2:1 TOP is crazy. Got to bring same effort and execution next week.
Probably not. We’ll see how good Beavs D is next week. Game may be won or lost with special teams which scares me. I wonder if Hayes will ever do anything good. He’s just poop.
Their ST were terrible in their last trip to Corvallis. But two long returns, Sappington kicks a game winner, Bray and Hayes likely lacking confidence in the OSU kicker. This suggests ST edge to UO.
Not concerned about special teams besides the FG game. We’ve got great speed at the gunner positions unlike Boise and Hayes can kick it out of the end zone.
Devil’s advocate. We’ve played 2 bad teams.
Oregon has played 2 teams who are better than either team we’ve played.
Still don’t see an OSU win next week unless Gundy has been purposefully keeping the pass game very vanilla(which i dont think is the case, it’s just subpar right now because of personnel reasons)
Solid points. I think we’re seeing a winnable game next week if everything goes right, as opposed to some turd dwellers in here who were saying a few month ago that the game shouldn’t even be on the schedule because the Beavs are going to get destroyed.
I didn’t see the game as well but watched some highlights. Difficult to gauge how good the Beavs are as well as the two teams they have played so far. The ducks appear to be over rated evident by their struggles to squeak by their first two opponents. I do feel now the game next week is very winnable but will have to throw the ball in order to win as I think the ducks will stack the box trying to stop our running game.
Enjoying the Coach Slime fail at Colorado. I understand they lowered academic standards to help lure him there. The administration has to be getting tired of his mouth and the way he represents the school. The constant roster turnover, lack of results and the way players are run off will likely be turning recruits and transfers off in the near future. If they have a rich collective they’ll no doubt still pull in a few, but I don’t see this hire working out for Colorado in the long run.
He is gone once Hunter and Shedour leave. It seems his only
Goal was to get those two in the national spotlight long enough to get higher draft status than they would have at Jackson St. Plain and simple. All other players are means or an end, and apparently expendable if they aren’t contributing to the main reason he took the job.
He is a horrible game strategy coach and he has surrounded himself with a lot of former NFL guys to try and gloss over that fact. The locker room is so disjointed because of the portal it isn’t a surprise they are flailing. His approach doesn’t exactly exude a “persist through setbacks” mentality, and the team reflects that flaw also.
I wonder what “snake-oil” prime is selling his recruits? NIL money? Chance to be coached up to play in the nfl? Everything is about “I”. They are not a team playing for one another. I’m sure the players see that it all about promoting the Sanders boys and maybe Travis Hunter since he draws a lot of attention to the program.
I assume the NFL hall of fame player, with swag sells a lot by itself. Add in big NFL players like Warren Sapp and I’m sure that grabs guys too. Also, they can offer playing time.
PFF fun from after SDSU:
-Beavs rated as the #9 team in the country; #4 offense, #31 defense (remember these scores are heavily skewed by SOS…the offenses ranked higher than ours are Ole Miss, Rutgers, and Navy).
-#7 ranked run blocking team and #12 ranked rushing team
Offense
-Top offensive performers were Gray, Walker, and McCoy
-Bottom performers were Noga and Terry
-Gray is the #10 ranked OL in the country, Gonzalez is #19, GCL is #26, Strand is #33, Vincic is #37, Voltin is #49…6 OL in the top 50!
Defense
-Top performers were Collins, Kane, and Schuster
-Bottom performers were Saluni and Saez
-Collins is the #3 defensive player in the country (all positions)
Looking ahead to Nike:
-Their offensive rating is pretty bad. Defense is #12 in the country (though rush defense is their weakness…obviously after playing against Jeanty).
-Gabriel is ranked as the #58 QB in the country.
Bonus:
There are only 4 power conference offenses ranked worse than Lindgren’s at MSU
Also, a stat that usually correlates well with who is a “good QB” is Big Time Throw to Turnover Worthy Play ratio. Basically, how well do they make difficult throws compared to how often they make bad decisions that could lead to a TO. National leaders last year were Michael Penix, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, and Garrett Greene.
McCoy has no TWP’s and only 3 QB’s with 0 TWP’s have as many BTT’s. So far, he’s taking care of the ball well while still making some big plays.
Injuries, primarily. No Clemons or Valsin. Noga and Anderson have been mostly invisible. Card has had a few good plays. Not sure how Reddicks has looked?
Walker has been the most consistent receiver, despite the handful of misses yesterday like the flea flicker(should have been a catch) and the wide open pass McCoy threw poorly.(not Walker’s fault)
Problem for Walker is he just doesnt have the quick twitch speed like we’re been used to with guys like Gould/Bolden. But so far his big frame makes a nice target for McCoy
Considering the factors for next week/who has the advantage:
At Reser/OSU
Run offense vs Oregon run defense/ OSU
Pass offense vs Oregon pass defense/Oregon
Run vs OSU run defense/OSU
Pass vs OSU pass defense/OSU
Special Teams/Oregon
Coaching staff experience / Oregon
Refs leaning/Oregon
Media perception/Oregon
Locker room mentality/OSU
Coaching strategy/OSU
Motivation/OSU
Uniform combinations/Oregon
Turnovers/OSU
Keys are:
Run the ball, tackle, don’t allow easy touchdowns on big plays, keep the refs honest, keep the ducks defense honest with a few big pass plays, and frustrate the ducks into rash attempts to win the game with gambles.
Yes, TOP can be a big factor, but………..you still have to consider the explosive plays. uck had the two TD’s off of kick returns (100 yd KO and 70 yd PR) along with more than a couple 30 to 60 yd plays from scrimmage.
On another note, how long will uck O-line continue to commit penalties and give up sacks? Remember, Coach Cavanaugh is now on their staff, maybe foul language and bear crawls will be effective at some point?
Cavanauaghs style wont get through to those prima Donna types. They’ll begin to tune him out in once the bear crawls start.
My note on uniforms was in jest and not a personal assessment. Everyone assumes
The ducks uniforms are the best in college football, and it is a superfluous category anyway. Not really a factor in the outcome of the game, so they can have a category they get an “advantage”.
Agree with everything minus the coaching and uniforms. Bray has proven himself over the years to be prepared and focused. Assistants are coaching up the guys well. Uniforms…. Well, I like ours more.
The one thing that worries me about McCoy is that he seems to lock onto his primary receiver for too long and often and I’m just worried about him getting picked because of it. He’ll need the run game and good pass protection from the Oline against the ucks pass rush. Hopefully he can have another on point game with no turnovers. We can’t afford to lose the turnover battle next week.
He almost had a pick 6 right after Walker dropped that flea flicker. Locked onto the receiver running an out route and the CB jumped it, but fortunately it was just out of reach.
BSU qb was getting rid of the ball within 2-3 seconds on a lot of quick crosses, slants or timing out routes. He didn’t have much luck completing them due to Ducks having no fear of PI calls and a lot of body contact on every Bronco receiver.
Beavs need to try some double moves and trust the OLine to hold on passing downs.
But always- “run the ball” and don’t get too cute. The one thing ducks are allergic to is a steady diet of smash mouth physicality running the ball right at them.
Much ballyhooed Nix with 135 yards, 2 INTs, 48.1 rating. So tired of hearing he’s “the first rookie to start for broncos since Elway.” He’s probably nearly 4 years older than Elway was in his rookie year, and Nix was getting paid in college, virtually no course load at UO. “He’s a professional! He runs meetings!”
Beavs need to get healthy this week. Need to have all play makers ready to go. Game will come down to a few plays. One team will win 28-17. Team that can run the ball, wins special teams, and wins turnover battle wins the game. Let’s hope for a well officiated fair game.
Angry still on the sad wagon this am. 31-17 Beavs
“AngryBees” now…
Working on rebrand “EeyoreBeavs.com”
OSU D produces another 2+ takeaways to help provide the difference in a contested, but comfortable victory…
Anticipate some nice passes to TEs, Johnson with some nice complementary play at QB…solid run game….
Awaiting more game vibes, perhaps after tri tip, chips and salsa…
Chiles throws another pick, leads to a Maryland TD. 14-7 Terrapins after a quarter.
Damn I liked Chiles! Maybe he will come back like Jam did.
He’ll do better with Oregon State-level talent. The Big Ten talent isn’t supporting him enough.
And that is just the Maryland defense.
Chiles with a 3rd interception of the game.
Keep it balanced…
Benedetti’s over in Springfield has Cubano sausages–everything in a Cubano sandwich, except the bread.
They said they’re great off the smoker. There are some on the smoker. I’ll find out.
Last year someone posted a link for an OSU CBS Sports Net game on YouTube. Pulled up on my phone and then just cast it to my TV. Does anyone think there is a likelihood of that again for this game?
Cal qb is slinging it all over on Auburn.
That Cal game is looking a lot tougher than earlier this morning.
Blatant effort to save Notre Dame with a horrible 3 & 2 spot against NIU.
So obvious
Not to mention they were supposed to wind the clock before the field goal and didn’t, giving Notre dame a chance on offense.
Cal has been jammed over and over by the Auburn refs too.
Lots of home cooking going on.
Northern Illinois just beat a glorified high school team
Apparently Notre Dame is paying Northern Illinois $1.4 million to appear in today’s HS game.
Can they at least claim a tax write off?
Despite erratic play from Chiles, the pudgy gnome gets his first win. Maryland gave the game away in the second half. 27-24 Sparty.
The Maryland coach is a great recruiter and a shitty coach!
Um, you do know that MSU played last weekend, right? They are 2-0 so it would be Smiths 2nd win.
First Big 10 victory. Geez, crucify me because I left out the word “conference” and the edit feature no longer works on the site.
It’s all right, the B10 has more than 10 teams, so numbers really don’t matter unless preceded by “$”….
You are released from the cross.
Wait!
We have to stab him first.
I can’t stand coach “prime”. I hope Nebraska hammers them! I’m a big Matt Rhule fan and think he’ll turn around Nebraska so they are relevant again.
I’ve got to be a Husker fan today. The Colorado hype is so nauseating.
Rooting for Nebraska too but their QB is such a tool trying to be a Mahomes look-a-like.
Colorado is also a dirty team.
Looks like the buffs still can’t block.
Goddammit I just saw that tonight’s game is on CBS Sports Network which I don’t have. Thought it was on CW.
Honestly it’s exhausting keeping track of this shit every week.
What do you call a good looking gal in Nebraska? A visitor!
Another cheap shot by the Buffs. Need to eject the HC as well and I think it would nip these calls in the bud real fast!
Nebby may want to hold out the golden boy freshman for the 2nd half before the Buffs head hunt on him out of frustration.
Sanders hasn’t really learned clock management either. He is quite a fraud and so are his sons at this point. A lot of style and hype but very little substance when it really counts.
“He is quite a fraud and so are his sons…”
Sanders reminds me of Donald Trump…
I wonder if Colorado is still comin’?
#TPB laying it on the Sanders shit show, kinda glorious
“here on business”
https://x.com/BeaverFootball?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor
Excited to see a little more of the offense this game.
WSU QB is very mobile. They may be the best PAC-2 team.
Noble Thomas, Clemons and olu are all out for tonight’s game
Anybody know what streaming service I need to see this game?
Hulu live TV works
Wow, might have been the best 1st drive I’ve seen from an OSU team in years. Made the easy play over and over and executed well. Almost too easy.
And McCoy making the quick decisive passes on target, I’m just not used to this.
Methstreams
That was a video game like drive.
Great start! 3 and out and then march down the field for a score with a balanced attack.
Drive down the field and do it again like a well oiled machine.
Sounds like Beavs have several starters out, but so far you wouldnt know it. Backups are stepping up. Hope depth doesnt become an issue in the 2nd half
Is Bray at the game. They keep showing Gunderson.
Not even Gundy, they’re showing Coach Boyer. Lol
Uh oh, Smith brain rot almost infected Bray there
Nevermind, the infection was complete.
Please stop the dumb
Wannabeav approved that play call…
Punt the ball
Ffs…
You have stopped them both times they have had the ball. You gotta think you give them an 80- 90 yard field you are going to get the stop again.
Jabari Johnson has got some wheels! We haven’t seen a quarterback with those athletic qualities and running abilities since Sean Manion was playing -)
That was a terrible call. The ball did not appear to touch the defender and he stopped.
We saw lot’s of them! They just weren’t wearing orange and black.
The defense looks markedly better.
this game reminds me of Purdue and Hawaii. not a good omen
McCoy is looking good running the 2 minute. In fact he has made almost every short to intermediate throw for the game.
All good, but very disappointing to end the half only one score up. Hayes gotta have mental issues.
Fuckin Hayes!
same old Hayes
yup, we’ve seen enough to not expect much more.
BTW: nike down 20-14 at the half; due in part to penalties and 4 sacks.
Ducks down at the half against Boise…
Coming out after the half with refs solidly on their side, just canceled the Olympic peacock
Outside of the first drive SDSU has been pretty stout against the run.
“you’ve let them hang around too long and it’s gonna bite you in the ass”
Excellent description and so true.
I like the play if the Beavs but not the score. Feels like we should be up by a couple scores. Their running back is a scary dude.
That was 3 minutes of steak and 27 minutes of gristle.
Hopefully we make good halftime adjustments.
Like getting a new kicker…
Sappington misses PAT in Eugene.
Team looked better second half last week and pulled away, let’s see if that was a one off or coaches actually making good adjustments is the new norm
OK. What’s wrong with Jam?
Too much sugar
I wish they’d have more commercials with Deion Sanders.
Or Gronk…
Tight ends have been nonexistent
Defense has looked really good. Closed down spacing in pass game. Better Tackling. Drawing Holding calls. Not allowing really anything on the ground, against a stellar back. Just keep it up. Offense is moving. Only a matter of time until they punch it in.
I will say this, that SDSU punter is earning his stripes. If it wasn’t for him this game would be a lot uglier.
Are you kidding
Or Gronk…
Walker yet another drop……..does two make a trend?
Hands of butter.
That play call was nails though
How do you drop that? Just that kind of night…
Bad drop. Perfect throw. Also, stadium is nice. A huge Beaver turnout here. In addition, fans of SDSU have been some of the worst I’ve met.
Fresno effect.
Nice punt
Tanner walker needs to walk his ass home and not see the field again. He’s garbage. Turned a first and goal into a rushed punt and completely shifted momentum against the beavs.
SDSU receiver shows how it’s done. Can’t leave the door so open,
That was a hell of a catch by the San Diego State guy
Wow dodged a bullet
Not yet. Aztecs will get it back soon enough.
Long field to go but the O has to now show up; D doing all you could ask.
Defense to the rescue at the last second
Classic strip there.
Needed that. I was starting to get stressed out.
How long before Bray starts riding his bike to work?
If you live in Corvallis and don’t ride your bike to work, something’s wrong with you.
The team is playing very Riley like tonight. Awful play calling and shitty special teams. But you’re right driving in Corvallis is awful.
?
You have issues driving in Corvallis?
Have you driven in only one town in your life?
a TD here could seal it
Have you forgotten you’re watching the Beavers?
Walker redeems the drop
Take the three points, surely Hayes can make this one, right?
can’t trust Hayes. go for it. Even if the Beavs don’t make it they have SDST deep in their own terr.
OK, no slow developing rushes
I mean, we are a running team with a kicker that hasn’t shown consistency. But Hayes is good for 1/2. I say kick it. Especially with your defense playing the way it is.
Nice play call there. Weeee!
Just like I said, go for 6!
Cougs winning convincingly, by the way. 34-10 over TT. they really do re-load on offense every season.
The Mike Leach bowl
Who was the honorary player locked in a shed at halftime?
He was never locked in a shed lmao.
yep. Mike might be gone but his offensive spirit is still there.
Nice execution of that play!!!
I mean… it worked. But, they still should have kicked for 3.
Like the points but Riverboat Gambler spirit still lives at OSU.
Is it gambling when your kicker is dogshit? Seems like even money.
Tied at 27 early 4th qtr in Eugene, fumble by Herbert followed by 70 yd BSU run
What is the line on the game?
ucks came in around -19
Breaking News, another uck fumble leads to a go ahead TD for BSU
Excellent
Didn’t see that drive coming. Impressive.
98 yards, no less.
Bludgeoning
If Bray can manage to pitch a shut out here. Legend.
We are witnessing the dawn of a Whittingham-like era of OSU football. Bray will have a defense regularly hold teams under 20 points. Add to that an offenses that grinds over teams and you have a great recipe for success over an extended period of time.
I’m of the opinion that it’s a little early for a proclamation like that.
Whittingham would have punted.
No sense in risking giving SDSU a short field. And you already know your kicker isnt good
Was that pf on Reichle?
Hayes is automatic lol
so true. he simply can’t be counted on outside the 20. correction: he can be counted on to miss other than an XP
Hayes kicks like I golf.
2 way miss??
Ok with Hayes licking there despite the distance
TMI…
lol
Bray already seems to have a better handle on play calling and team identity than Smith and it’s only game 2 of his career.
he didn’t handle that delay of game situation very well.
Exactly, can’t have that kind of mistake, someone on the sideline needs to run stairs
I think it is evident that any identity those JS teams had was likely a result of Brays presence on those staffs.
Give anyone else a chance to kick field goals.
we’re still paying down the mortgage for having Serna all those years. All but one game over 4 years he was gold.
The San Diego State coach looks like the guy on the right side of Smith Brothers cough drops packages.
I thought it was the special prosecutor.
Well played.
Man Thomas has been an absolute house tonight.
NICE play call
Great drive now get the shutout!
We have pass catching TE’s after all.
Someone needs to check on Angry
Remember it’s just glorified high school football in his mind. Road shutouts don’t change anything.
Feel like San Diego State has rage quit and thrown in the towel.
3 runs in a row down 3 possessions
If you would have said we scored 21 today, I would have said we lost by 10.
Solid win
I know it would not be wise football but would have liked to see Ben get to throw the ball.
Sapp–ington for the win in Eugene
Ouch. And boo.
Would you rather the ucks win close or lose as a prelude to the CW? Does it matter?
BTW, early on Vegas had Beavs +21, that will now drop to ?.
I’d rather the Ducks lose and have their confidence shaken. A bullshit win just reinforces the false narrative and sense of entitlement.
It’s a non-con game against a Midwest liberal arts school. The Civil War is gone.
Fuck the Ducks.
Sold out for a half share.
Fuck the ducks
I think the Beavs will be feeling better about themselves next week than the Ducks will. Duck fan already has their grip on having to sweat out wins against teams they thought they’d beat by three scores.
My guess is the line will be Oregon plus 5 and half. And that will be bet down by Friday.
I didnt watch their game, but I guess oregon needed home cooking to het it done. A key BS targeting called against Boise in 2nd half took out one of their captains, and a Chad Johnson-esque fumble before crossing into the endzone was reviewed by refs and still called a TD.
Ball was clearly getting dropped before crossing the line.
https://x.com/StevePalazzolo_/status/1832647458121191809?t=WcEPxzw9kv5Zyn5yyndeZA&s=19
I think another Duck picked up in the endzone.
He did but you still gotta make the call right.
Line will be well over Oregon plus 5. Double digits at the minimum. I’m guessing Oregon +15ish
First road shutout in 41 years
Game review:
Some key errors that should be remembered and emphasized:
-2 missed field goals
-Walker dropped a perfect TD throw on a trick play
-Bad punt
-A couple of PI calls
-Richie special teams penalty
The defense is going to be pretty good.
Wide receivers are somewhat suspect if Walker is the primary target.
Ducks dbs will hold and push every receiver all game. Beavs need to be prepared for it.
Great game and good result. Go Beavs!
Add that failure to call TO to avoid delay of game penalty which killed a drive.
Any word on when either may ever get back?
dux nearly lose to Boise State.
It’s a big win for 0regon. They’ve never beaten Boise St before.
Starting Boise linebacker got ejected for a bogus targeting call and that made the difference in the end.
Any team that can generate pressure on Gabriel is going to own Oregon. All of a sudden Judas might have a chance when his Spartans stop in Eugene.
Hoping Collin’s and Jojo get to him…
Anyone know the last time the Beavs shut a team out on the Road?
1983 vs Oregon. the 0-0 toilet bowl game
1983
Per daschel
And per 94Beav up above
Someone earlier said 41 years.
That was easily the most frustrating 21 point win I think I have ever witnessed.
Two straight Big 18 opponents coming up, in Reser, now we shall see what the team and staff are made of.
Seemed like a lot of penalties in the 2nd half.
Where’s Angry?
Still cycling…?
Gotta use those new headlights, I suppose

Nice defense against a good RB. Even with their hurry up offense SDSU only got 49 plays, 179 yds….
solid road win….one new coaching staff over another.
SDSU’s coach likes fast-paced offenses, said his goal was to run 80 plays. Instead, OSU almost got to 80
Considering the injury situation, the outcome was pretty good.
Who all is out with injury currently?
Clemons is the biggest one. Because by all accounts he was supposed to be WR #1
Maybe if Clemons can’t go, give that FR from WA more reps? He’d allegedly been working with QB Johnson in the off season…
Without their starting center too.
We had a lot of 2-3 yd runs, which caused a lot of 3rd and 5 or 6 yds. SDST was geared to stop the run, so 4.6 yds per carry is pretty decent.
Need the 10+ points on missed plays next week though. 21 points isn’t beating Oregon.
Probably not. We’ll see how good Beavs D is next week. Game may be won or lost with special teams which scares me. I wonder if Hayes will ever do anything good. He’s just poop.
Agree on the special teams concern; uck had a 70 yd punt return and a 100 yd KO return….both for TD’s tonight.
They needed two ST TDs and some friendly refs to keep up with Boise.
Show yourself, Angry!
The man went to bed in the second quarter!
Agreed. Sadly I’m still just not convinced that we are good
Didn’t get to watch yet, but GJ looks like he had an amazing series. Hayes missed 2 FG’s? The more things change…
Did Clemons play at all?
One missed FG was from 55 yards out. I don’t expect many of those to go through.
The other missed FG went right over the left upright from 39 yards. He should have made that one.
Leg strength has never been Hayes’ problem, it’s his dam accuracy. I fear it will cost the team a game at some point.
no to clemons
We’re at least upper-tier MWC so we should give Nike a good game.
Upper-tier MWC?!?
The PAC is knotted at the top with undefeated conference members!!!
Nico Taylor balled out last night
How did Walker become the workhorse of the WR corps? He has more than twice the targets of the next closest WR or TE.
If we were lining up Clemons/Valsin/Walker, the passing game would have some legitimate weapons. Injuries suck
Reddicks has hands, need to get him the ball more. They should have sent wells jr on that route during the flea flicker.
Less Walker, more
Wells, Reddicks please
Considering the factors for next week/who has the advantage:
At Reser/OSU
Run offense vs Oregon run defense/ OSU
Pass offense vs Oregon pass defense/Oregon
Run vs OSU run defense/OSU
Pass vs OSU pass defense/OSU
Special Teams/Oregon
Coaching staff experience / Oregon
Refs leaning/Oregon
Media perception/Oregon
Locker room mentality/OSU
Coaching strategy/OSU
Motivation/OSU
Uniform combinations/Oregon
Turnovers/OSU
Keys are:
Run the ball, tackle, don’t allow easy touchdowns on big plays, keep the refs honest, keep the ducks defense honest with a few big pass plays, and frustrate the ducks into rash attempts to win the game with gambles.
OSU will win by a touchdown. 31-24
a time of possession 40+ mins game similar to this one that OSU just had vs San Diego State would also help
The attempt by UNike to create a new, fetching ensemble each week, renders them costumes, not uniforms.
Hahaha!!!!!!
Cavanaugh is our secret weapon on the inside. “Coach ’em up Cav! Thank you!”
I was hoping sappington was and was going to shank the game winner yesterday.
It’ll be interesting to see what Gundy/DeVan scheme up for the run game. The way they attack the middle with quick inside zones is brutal.
Even with a pretty deep rotation on the D-line Boise wore them down pretty good but their run plays were relatively slow developing.
He was very limited in what he actually did at Nike. No NFL analysts thought he was going to be good.
He’s got a sister!
Beavs 14 point dogs today.
I find that insane in a rivalry game – particularly a Duck road game, the Ducks first of the year.

Thanks for sharing, oob!
Noticed Kyle Peko played for the Lions tonight, got a tackle, didn’t realize he was still in the league, good for him.
What a saga that was.
Beavs need to get healthy this week. Need to have all play makers ready to go. Game will come down to a few plays. One team will win 28-17. Team that can run the ball, wins special teams, and wins turnover battle wins the game. Let’s hope for a well officiated fair game.
I’m still convinced that the team with the most points at the end will win…
OK, 28-17 sounds like a Beavs win; only one FG in the game and it’s not Hayes. lol
Game week thread is up.
I find that insane in a rivalry game – particularly a Duck road game, the Ducks first of the year.
