  1. The kid doesn’t sound like a dummy in interviews. In fact he sounds a lot better in the few interviews I’ve found than most athletes do at his age. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. One of the strangest parts of this if it turns out to be true is OSU seems to have come out of nowhere.

    • If you give enough you can set up an endowment , pretty much any way you want, for example the “JasontheBeaver Offensive Lineman Award” and direct the use of funds. Amounts and conditions vary year to year. Call the BASF if you’re really interested and able. JB

      • I’m about to make my annual donation in the next week or so and just thought I’d ask the group before bugging the BASF dept. I certainly don’t donate enough to create an endowment. You could say that I am not well endowed.

        • Read this joke on PO and thought it would be an appropriate follow-up to the last comment.

A pretty blond was speeding down the freeway in her boyfriends car when an Oregon State Trooper pulled her over.
Flipping his ticket book open as he walked up to her window, she blurted out, “I bet you’re going to sell me a ticket to the State Trooper’s Ball.”

“No mam,” he answered, “Oregon State Troopers don’t have balls.”

Then after a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, he closed up his ticket book, tipped his hat, walked back to his car and drove away.

    • Beavers are going to be sooooo good next season. A lot of Beavers are having good summers. Jae Rodriguez is tearing up the Cape Cod League and that’s a really tough league. He’s going to have a big Junior year. The guy who will likely be their starting third baseman next season, Jerad Casper, is having a good summer in the West Coast League. He leads the league in home runs and is one of the leaders in RBI’s. He’s going to give the Beavers some real pop behind Conforto. Looking forward to next season.

  2. Not to rain on the parade, but Johnny Stanton is going to Nebraska. There goes our top rated QB prospect. Guess I’ll get to see him play here.

  3. Is Jordan Villamin going to announce for the Beavs tomorrow? He is friends with Bolden and chemistry like that is usually helpful in team building. Hope so.

  4. Quick tip for my fellow beav fans. Dont watch film on players until they have committed to the program. You’ll live longer.

  5. I hadn’t looked at UW’s stadium renovation, but I don’t suppose it is hurting recruiting up north:

    http://www.huskystadium.com/renovation-information/image-gallery/image-gallery-0#!prettyPhoto%5Bgallery1%5D/13/

That will look like a pro facility. Imagine showing a kid that and telling them that’s where they’re going to be playing. Probably part of the reason they have 10-11(?) recruits and OSU has two plus a bad rivals rumor.

Not suggesting that the building the other half of Reser is the answer (we have beaverbyte for that). But along with OSU’s losing, the coaching changes and stadium improvements elsewhere, the lack of dynamism at OSU is brought into very specific relief.

I hope OSU continues to “own” UW, for what its worth…it helps that they are under-coached.

    • Imagine telling a kid that they will get to own the team on the field that has a fancy new stadium. You know, things that really matter.

“If there was a villain in this tragedy it lies in that investigation, not in joe paterno’s response to it.” –Phil Knight

I said at the time that it was highly inappropriate for Knight to eulogize Joe Pa by minimizing the crimes and victims for what seemed like a self-righteous rant.

Now it just looks like a steaming pile of self-righteous bull pucky. If this was even a blip on the radar of the worst Knight/Nike have done to this world, I might be inclined to rant for a while. But it’s just typical soulless Knight-think.

    • He wants the money and doesn’t want to wait 3 years by coming to OSU, instead he goes to JC hoping he’ll get drafted next year for the money he wants.

      • Didn’t sound like it was the money, rather they were not willing to pay for his four years of college tuition, which they initially agreed upon. But your right that he wants to go pro sooner than later.

  7. ?@PrepsBulletin #Etiwanda HS 3-star WR Jordan Villamin verbally committed to #OregonState today. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Sr. also had an offer from #Utah.

Seems to have good size. Let’s keep the Mo going…

  8. Rivals has an article up saying we ‘stand out’ to 4 star CB Dashon Hunt. Anyone know anything else about this kid? I don’t have a membership to read the full article.

  9. Riley tweeting just now “Mike Riley ?@Coach_Riley

It’s a great day to be a Beaver! Can’t wait for practice August 6th, #GoBeavs”

  10. Per the dj Martin rumor, the original thread started from something that was seen on dj martins Facebook page. Apparently he said thinking about committing to OSU.
