  1. Happy Marmoreal day weekend at then end when the parties are all done…after we know if the beavers make it into post season play….take the time to ponder all that we have lost….and those that have lost all

  2. Doesn’t look like much enthusiasm for Beav baseball in here. I thought I had the game time wrong, but it’s 0-0 in the 3rd. It looks like Utah can do no worse they a share of the title with UW, does a co-championship guarantee them a spot in the tournament or do they need to win tomorrow? I’m thinking no Utah improves the Beavs position, but it’s hard to root for the Huskies. Small consolation, but the Ducks are history, nice to see after their bizarre pre-season boasts.

  3. Beavers lead by 0-3 home half of the 7th two out and one on 1st….they have produced the 3rd run in this inning by a triple by number 7 and a hit by 2… they have three runs in two inning so far…2 get throw out stealing 2nd

    good inning by the Beavs

  4. bottom of the 8 one out but got passed the top of the 8th just a little danger no runs scored. Numer 3 just gets a double get them now beavs

      • Seems like the Eckert. Fehmel, Heimlich triumvirate are the guys going forward. Beavs need quality starts from all of them to advance. If we fall to the losers bracket it won’t be pretty.

      • I know one asshole who has been high on Fehmel for longer than the last two weekends.

Going forward he should be the Saturday starter. next year a weekend rotation of Fehmel, Rasmussen (when he’s ready) and Sam Tweedt?

  5. off topic and my apologies if already posted………………..

Oregon State has reached agreements for home games with five schools, head coach Wayne Tinkle told The Oregonian/OregonLive, taking a step toward filling out its 2016-17 schedule.

The Beavers will host Fresno State, Kent State, Lamar, Prairie View A&M and the University of Texas at San Antonio. No dates have been released for these games.

The agreement with Kent State is for three games over the next three years, Tinkle said, with two Oregon State home games and one on the road.

Fresno State reached the NCAA Tournament last season for the first time since 2001 after winning the Mountain West tournament, while none of the other four teams qualified for postseason play.

Oregon State was already slated for four non-conference road games this coming season as part of a group of home-and-home series with Mississippi State, Nevada and UNC Charlotte, plus a game at Tulsa after the Golden Hurricane’s participation in the Far West Classic in Portland last season.

The Beavers still hope to host an event at the Moda Center for the second consecutive season, although no plans have been finalized.

  6. Beavs are a lock as a 3 seed with outside chance to get a 2 seed if they sweep the Bruins. They ended strong when it mattered to be sure they are in the Field of 64.

    • Agree, 3 seed, even if they win today.

It’s too bad Casey was so slow to figure out the rotation, when it was very obvious early on that the season relied on a younger guy stepping up.

  7. Are there any football recruits you expect to commit to the Beavs?
Also, are we still recruiting anyone for the 2016 basketball class?

  8. John Canzano with a new piece this weekend on Brenda Tracey, Mike Riley and rape. I know, shocking. I think he’s going on 2 years of milking this story.

    • That was actually a pretty interesting read. So the short of it is she’s going to speak at Nebraska. I didn’t realize she was responsible for legislative changes and shaping campus policy at OSU.
Riley’s “boys will be boys” attitude was so disgusting. He’s not a good guy.

  9. “It’s too bad Casey was so slow to figure out the rotation, when it was very obvious early on that the season relied on a younger guy stepping up.”
Yeah, and it also took all season to decide to put Nobach in the leadoff spot; resulted in a 1-0 lead going to the second.

  10. Through 6 full, good guys up 3-0.
Luke maybe enroute to his best game, 70 pitches, 1 HBP, 3 hits, 5 K’s.

UPDATE: After 8 full its Beavs 6-0. Heimlich 97 pitches and still ZERO BB’s.
How far east are these guys gonna have to travel for post-season?

  11. So apparently never since 1907 have the Beavs ever swept a series with 3 shutouts. And also, UCLA had never been shut out for a series.

  12. Any of you locals know what is the status with Carey? Did he have a setback or is he practicing but not playing?

    • I’m curious about Morrison as well. Parker mentioned the stress he is under more than once today. Personal issues? Family loss?

    • Lots of good updates there. I think this team will be interesting enough to watch over the next couple of years. I think the offense could be diverse enough to deliver 4 – 5 wins this year with improved play at QB.

What is the medical issue with Haskins? Concussions? Hopefully, it’s otherwise. The RB depth should sort out in spring ball. I was mildly surprised to see Hawkins may see some time at RB.

Andersen doesn’t see much at CB after Decoud and Williams. Hopefully he’s just trying to facilitate a greater sense of urgency and competition in that position group.

  13. Anybody catch the other pac12 scores today? Usc 31 Asu 9 and utah 21 washington 7. Washington and asu not playing their normal lineups?

  14. 13 of the 16 regional host sites from the SEC and ACC. The selection committee continues to stack the deck against the rest of the playing field. So you’re saying that the 6th or 7th place teams from those conferences are so much better than everyone else? I call bullshit

    • What are you going to do? Who won the Pac this year? Perennial powers OSU and ASU did what this year? The other power, UCLA, scored how many runs this last weekend?

Figured I could rub it in just one more time.

      • My statement said “the rest of the playing field”. Which includes EVERYONE not in the SEC and ACC. Do you honestly think the 6th and/or 7th place teams from those two conferences deserve to host a regional?

  15. To family… to friends… to friends of family and family of friends… I miss you. I love you. I wish you were here… even if it was just so I could hand you a lousy hot dog with insufficient condiments… or a crappy domestic beer.

    You know who you are.

    • Dew will need to be a glue guy. Doing all the small things right. He’s not much of a scorer, avg only 5.7 points last year.

I think Eubanks is the key next year. If he can improve into a consistent double double guy, the team will have a lot of success.

Biggest thing for Eubanks to me, is his conditioning. He wore down toward the end of the season. In the game against VCU, he was completely gassed in the second half. He couldn’t box anyone out because he was so tired. He needs to be able to consistently go 25-30 minutes a game this next year.

  16. FWIW: D1 takes a stab at final field, has Beavs #3 in Lubbock; starting against Dallas Baptist.
We’ll find out for sure in about an hour but a trip to Texas would be a homecoming for Eckert.

Many here may share Jack’s feelings about the Lone Star State, but it beats going another time zone east, doesn’t it? And, it surely beats a trip to Fla.

  17. Beavs could surprise in regionals if they get the right draw. However they won’t get through a super regional. I really don’t expect them to get through the regional. If they win one game, it’s kind of a success with all the injuries to the pitching staff this year.

  18. BEAVS SCREWED OVER!!!!! NO FUCKIN WAY!!!!!

10 ACC teams in including 5 with losing conference records.

F this NCAA. FIRE LARRY SCOTT!!! TOTAL HORSESHIT!!!!

  19. Tough, but not completely surprising………getting swept by Cal and Arizona, losing series to Oregon and Wazzu, losing to Portland. They ended strong, but UCLA and USC were not good teams this year. I kind of thought they needed help from UW to get in and the Huskies laid a fucking egg against Utah.

      • When the committee chairman asked why he 5 ACC teams with losing conference records got in he said it all goes back to their ‘selection criteria’ such as finishing strong & strength of schedule.

Yeah OSU shutting out UCLA and a team for first time since 1907 and winning 5 of last 6 including on the road was poor. Beavs had 35 wins and a winning conference record of 16-14.

Guess finishing strong in the ACC is winning an expected home series 2-1 on the final weekend despite conference record. Let’s put all those teams in.

        Disgusting.

        • Not really blown away by this, OSU has got in with losing record before — championship year 2007, but had a respectable non-con record, so surprised ASU got the nod over since Beavs have better record, head-to-head, blah blah blah.
The committee is biased towards southern teams….always has been. Look at FSU….37 appearances and not one title. The south typically travels well, and draws a large crowd — wonder if that has anything to do with it….? Either way, the committee is a joke. If the Beavs were in the ACC or SEC, they’d be in, no doubt.
Total bummer, thought this team had finally got its pitching sorted out. Of course, who would want to face the Beaver’s pitching right now the way they shutout the Bruins?

          Thanks for the season Beavs!!!

    • They should just start having the SEC and ACC place all their teams in and have the rest of the conferences draw straws. No way we should have been left out even with all the issues stated above.

      • I completely agree, but this is not out of character for a biased committee. Unfortunately their bias does not favor west coast, and the conferences out in the west are not making a big enough stink about it. All hell would break loose if the roles were switched. Imagine if the SEC or ACC only got 4 bids each….wow! Civil war anybody?
