Home Football Now What?

Now What?

167

The Arizona game erases any doubt/hope about this team. They do have an identity now:

  • Lack of talent.
  • Lack of depth.
  • Okay offense. Good WRs and RBs.
  • Possibly the worst defense in NCAA D1 history (still trying to find the numbers, but they have to be on pace).

So, where do we go from here? My focus will be on recruiting and transfers. I’ll still watch the games to look for progress and try to find the guys who are players, but in general I have checked out after that game last night. Hit me with your thoughts on where we go from here, deductions, observations, etc.

  1. Don’t thing the state of Oregon is big enough to have two d1 teams, especially when one has all the money it could ever hope for and the other barely has enough to keep the lights on, or just refuse to invest in the top money making sport on campus.

  2. I was only able to watch the first quarter(so far) I don’t understand how the offense was not able to execute against that Arizona defense? To me that can only mean, the gap is huge between the shittiest and second shittiest teams in the P-12. The first three games game me false hope that the offense would be a lot of fun this year, looking at the stats would indicate utter domination by Arizona.

      • I think you hit the nail on the head, we are in a “wait and see” if this coaching staff can recruit P-12 level players (especially on defense). I’m tired of waiting, but it’s all we have right now. My false hope was that I was starting to think JS was a genius game planner on offense. Arizona seems to indicate otherwise. I mean, how do you get out-coached by Kevin Sumlin?

        • I’m an admitted Cory Hall fanboy but I’m really starting to think the secondary coach is a serious downgrade. He has a nice resume but the Dbacks and safeties pretty consistently look like shit.

          • This was pretty apparent in game one. I’m aware that tOSU has top level talent and execution. But our DBs weren’t even in the picture on most catches. I was willing to say it was first game jitters in a new system and an imposing environment. But the pattern was there against Nevada and Zony too. They’re getting incrementally better, but they’re in the wrong positions and making poor decisions.

I suppose it’s possible the whole DB group gave up like they did at the end of last season. But I think that’s a minute probability.

    • I knew we were in for a rough day when I saw that TOLEDO beat the shit out of Nevada. That’s a fucking MAC school… We are lucky to be in the Pac 12 still.

    • Our starting RB, TE, and QB did not play so I think that had something to do with it.

I wasn’t expecting to beat Arizona before the season started. If Jonathan can keep the team chemistry together, we’re capable of playing a lot better. I wouldn’t write off our chances against WSU, Cal, Colorado, or even USC yet.

      • Dude, you can and should write off all those games. Reality is the pac12 has gotten better, but Oregon state was left behind. Not sure there’s ever any catching up

        • Thanks for that laugh.

The NFL is starting to look like crap on a stick with the way the college suckitude is leaving them with defenses who can’t execute and a dearth of good QBs.

The college game is regressing, except for a handful of blue bloods who can pick and choose defensive payers. Anyone with any skill wants to be a w/r/t or QB any more. We might as well run 7-on-7 and call it good. That’s where the game is headed.

  3. Now what???…. The usual. Plod along, week by week, as the weather gets worse and the losses add up. Grand finale a 58-10 home loss to the Ducks in a November monsoon. New year same results. I’m having flashbacks. JB

  4. Transfers and recruiting are key, as well as getting our young guys as much experience as possible. We do have some talent on the bench due to injury. Not much you can do there but wait for them to heal and return to the team.
The incoming transfers will help, but just as they come on board, we lose 3 senior OLineman. Will be important to get our you g OLine guys some meaningful playing time this year so they’re better prepared for next season.

My key areas where I think we need immediate improvement are:
DLine(we have some good 2019 DEs and DT coming in, but no JC guys yet)
    OLine(development)
QB(lots of hope pinned on Gebbia being the guy next year)

So we’re somewhat addressing those 3 issues, but it wont be fixed in 1 offseason. Unfortunately, patience is important so long as we think we have the right staff running things.

Also, Barnes needs to be cut loose.

    • The lack of depth this year is a killer. I think if If Reichner and Morris were out there, and Aydon in shape, things would look a little better, maybe enough to swing the close games (those are past now). Aydon coming in so out of shape is absurd; so much opportunity with a new coaching staff and so much need. He should have come in a beast instead of a poster child for BMI/diabetes. Unfortunately I have the feeling Morris is always going to struggle with injuries and his special instinct and talent will probably be off the field more than on.

It sucks to say “Year after next,” but they should at least be competitive then and maybe knocking on the door of a low-level bowl. It really won’t be worth watching them the rest of this year. Yeah, it might be interesting to see who doesn’t quit, and who comes back from injury, but its not going to be worth 3+ hours of a Saturday.

They need a legitimate center (or two)…another couple of DI QBs, OLine…DL and CBs (impact players here seem amongst the hardest to land).

  5. Good now that we have hope out of the way. I would also think along side of recruiting and transfers the focus on the coaches reactions and skill to patch this team together the rest of the year would be worth our time.

  6. I’m assuming tibesar is good, and that primarily it’s a personnel/depth issue on defense. But the question comes to mind of whether he will Sitake the beavs or not.

      • Good point. I guess with his resume he might generally a hc offer somewhere.

I haven’t perceived otherwise, but I wonder about the coaches’ mental fortitude going thru this rebuild.

      • Also, a good point, even including after they gave up last year. Idk, he seems reality-based and not making excuses. Suppose once he gets the parts of the defense tuned up, as you point out below and previously, the whole will play better. We’ll see what his next moves do to improve.

    • The one thing I like about our D is the ratio of points to yards. For how many yards we have given up the opposing teams should have way more points to show for it. A bit of a bend but don’t break philosophy I suppose. Now if they could just get the opposing teams yardage down a ton.

      • That would explain plays that take time to develop or just break down.

It’s the quick hitters and two-count timing routes that have me scratching my head. There should at least be a flailbacker in the area.

      • I had to register just to respond to such a stupid statement. We’re 117th in the nation in yards per point. Why can’t people be bothered to actually look up easily available facts before spouting off?

    • That is true, and it holds to my opinion that small market teams should have an offensive system to sell to recruits. It worked for hole during the CK days and it’s worked for Leach in his stops. Being a small market and pitching pro style spread power tempo blah blah shit that every team in the country is running makes your team not stand out from the crowd. Air raid, triple option, run and shoot, any of the “gimmick” systems will at least make you stand out from the crowd as long as you can actually pull it off like Leach usually does.

      • I agree with the pro-style spread power tempo blah blah shit. But the other offenses are both ubiquitous and limiting, unless you recruit the personnel meant to stop a power team (different than a p-s sptbbs team).

You’ll be able to beat those teams when they’re in transition years. And you may look pretty while losing close games to them here and there. You can even beat the best of them on those special occasions here and there. But you have a glass ceiling.

The only way to break through and remain consistently in a position to catch lightning in a bottle is to stack it up and run it down their throats, year after year.

*Chip Kelly almost broke through with a different method, his speed game. If he ever gets the players at UCLA to buy into that system, he can run any O he wants and make it look brilliant (or make college refs look like idiots, whichever you want).

        • Consider the differences between the 2000 and 2012 teams. Both had two NFL WRs. But one team went to work with the mentality they were going to run the ball. The other stopped running at inopportune times… like when facing two of the poorest run defenses in the country.

Otherwise, these fancy pass-happy spread-option power tempo gap raid cancellation offenses give us losses like a fumble by Catchings, Vaz or Nall.

  7. Anderson was a 2 year set back. I was just hoping to compete in the PAC-12 to help the recruiting efforts. JS has his work cut out for him for sure. I’m optimistic on the coaching staff but pessimistic on recruiting to OSU which is a challenge when winning let alone when losing.

  8. Leach was a proven coach. We got a rookie. There was probably a hangover effect from the Coug’it loss last week with the missed FG, but this team is severely short on talent. Next year will probably be more of the same. JS will need a long leash and some luck to raise the Titanic.

    • I don’t disagree yet Leach come with his own set of issues. JS has to over come so much here. The AD, attitude, facilities, lack of money… it will be a hard road. But the thing I have hope in is his obvious affection for OSU. That might be enough to help see it through. I hope it does. I like the guy.

          • The culture has to be the change. He may have been given carte blanche at the beginning, but he could have sucked. He could have ho-hummed through six years of getting paid and talking to alums about how good that Stanford team is year after year.

That he didn’t was apparent from the beginning. He was genuinely grateful to CR for handing him upgraded facilities. He started recruiting to OSU’s and Corvallis’ strengths. And he worked outreach to the fans and students in a big way.

He may have been given everything with zero expectations. But he took advantage of all of it.

I may not be as enamored with the football assistants as some of you are. But I’d like for 9 to do well, especially where he is. The first problem is his overnight change was a hire antithetical to change.

Over 50 years, we’ve had one disruption which wasn’t losing or thankful that at least we’re not losing. That’s been our culture.

  9. Coach Pitre appears to be our “transfer” recruiter. So far this week he has gotten connected with USC Ykili Ross, UCLA QB Devin Modster and Oregon RB Taj Griffin. Not sure if any of those will work out in our favor, but I appreciate that he’s trying to acquire talent however possible. All 3 would be upgrades for OSU if we could land them.

  10. OT – But S-I on Nebraska:

“By Scooby Axson September 22, 2018

When asked about Nebraska’s early season struggles this week, Cornhuskers head coach Scott Frost told SI’s Andy Staples, “This could get worse before it gets better.” Those words were disappointingly prophetic for the fans in red in Ann Arbor on Saturday. After coming up short in a last-minute thriller against Colorado and following that with a loss to Troy, Saturday marked a new low for Nebraska’s rough 2018, as the Huskers were hammered in their Big Ten opener by Michigan, 56–10.

It was Nebraska’s worst lost since … well, last season, when Iowa destroyed the Huskers 56–14 in Lincoln, the final game of Mike Riley’s tenure.

It’s not only that Nebraska couldn’t compete physically with the Wolverines, but the afternoon was littered with blunt reminders that at least this year, Frost’s team doesn’t belong on the same field.”

    • I feel like that same article could have been written about Oregon State with just a couple names swapped. Of course we’re on our second attempt to dig out of the Riley hole. It will be interesting to see who gets out of it first.

      • It can be written about us because our fan base has a tolerance for it. The selective outrage at any of the coaches we’ve allowed to perform at a mediocre or less level is disingenuous, at best.

  11. I wonder how often the Pac 12 offensive player of the week will just go to the guy who had the best offensive game for whichever team was playing OSU that week?

    • DE quit OSU without notice 16 years ago.

      He’s not eligible for rehire.

His replacement was a lost opportunity that halted all progress DE had yet to implement. So we got the east side and phase 3, but phase two withered and died… when money was flowing like water and construction was booming.

When the lost opportunity found a lost opportunity somewhere else, facility upgrades started up again.

And that’s all because of me.

      Sure.

      • I will take a Dan Hawkins or someone like him. I think he should have been hired here in 2003. He was a horrible fit at CU, especially when they were in the Big 8. But that system works in the Pacific Northwest… and apparently at UC Davis.

I’m hoping 9 is a branch on that tree.

  12. Luton going to play this week? Seems like Smith made the right decision to play both. When the offense sputters, he can put in the other. As much as I want one to secure the job, doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

    • I figured that’s what we’re going to live with for this season. They both need the experience, should one go down. And not trying to push them through situations that test their weaknesses should keep them both healthy. There will be times when we call out too-late-Lindgren for this or that. But there should also be some success as the season wears on.

How it could translate to wins, I’m not going to pretend to know. But this is a learning season. All I expect is consistent effort and incrementally progressive efficiency.

  13. Jack, what’s your assessment of new MBB Center Jack Wilson? He looks like a big dude at nearly 7′ and has a pretty solid frame. I believe he was a top 100 player for his class according to ESPN at one point. Do you think he makes his way into the starting lineup as a freshman?
Curious also how you would rate his BBall IQ

  14. It’s hard to say since he didn’t play last year. But he needs to work on his trunk and not play through his waist and shoulders as much. He’ll play out of necessity, as will Washington. I’m actually intrigued with Washington more at this point. He’ll need some size after this year, but his length is ridiculous. And he has plus hands and passing ability.

I would say a comparable for Wilson is Joel Przybilla with the ability to pick and pop. He’ll probably play at 7/7 and around 20-25 minutes as a frosh and get better for every year he matures.

    • Hopefully not like Joel Prizz. Otherwise this will happen.
      Suck as a Freshman
Suck in the non conf as a Sophomore.
Have a three or four great games in Conference and the then QUIT the team after getting suspended for not going to class. Dad and kid were poster children for the worst of the entitled jock syndrome.

      • I remember that.

But the skill set and style of play are similar. Wilson has better touch and can hit the mid-range (and FTs… so nice). And he will benefit from being able to spend time in college maturing. He’s a classic lottery C if he spends four years in school and develops to his potential.

Przybilla… I have no clue why he was drafted so high, other than someone wanted a back-up C with baggage… real bad.

      • I didn’t mind Przybilla as a Blazer. Definitely had limitations, but he always played hard and was a pretty good defender, up until he ruptured a tendon, twice…that injury followed by the “i slipped in the shower” re-injury was pretty brutal and ended his career early.

I didn’t follow him at all in college though

        • You only got to see flashes of his potential on the NBA level. He was a case of arrested development
because of college. But he was still a serviceable role player for over a decade.

        • A guy who literally quit on his team. The hometown kid who had been built up by the local press since 8th grade. The first arrow in the sling that led to Dan Monson’s failure. It still pisses me off.

          • It should. Unfair things happen to coaches all the time.

And it’s not like Monson’s better than a good NIT coach. He was just there to clean up the program. It was probably time to move on.

    • I think that’s too many minutes for Wilson. More like 15 – 20. The rest with Big G and Washington.

All Wilson has to do in year one is clean up the boards and put backs. He’ll never be more than the 4th option on the floor at any time.

Washington needs to add strength. He’s going to get pushed around down low early on.

      • Washington plays more short corner and high post. He plays the angles in the lane. His tip drill and passing look like they will benefit Wilson quite a bit.

We’ll just have to see the rotations. Tres can slide to the 3, and we can go big more now. But we can’t rely n consistent production from frosh.

I’m more worried about PG production. I want next year to get here a little faster.

        • I’m worried we’re going to roll out one of the Thompsons at PG this year. Hopefully one of the freshman(Vernon or Campbell?) guards can prove they can run a team in their first year, because I don’t like the offense with STJ at point, and I don’t think it’s fair to STJ to play him out of position.

  15. New trend in college football as result of redshirt rule.

Clemson qb transferring. Lost the starting job and since he only played in 4 games, he won’t lose a year of eligibility. I don’t know how he loses that job when he’s only lost twice as a starter. Bad management by the coaches. Georgia is next. Then Alabama.

Probably will affect top schools more since they bring in top recruits every year. Only school in recent years that has been able to manage multiple top QBs on the roster was USC.

      • Graduates are allowed to transfer to another school if their current school doesn’t offer the masters program they want to attend.

As long as the schooll they’re transferring to offers a program they’d like to start and their current school doesn’t, the waiting period is waived.

      • You’re there to go to school first, play second.

At least… that’s what the NCAA says. If you’ve completed school, you’ve earned the right to move on to your next step in life. If it’s at the same school, cool. If not, congrats and good luck… and would you consider making a donation to your alma mater?

    • Hmm…Could Bryant be attracted to UO with this likely Hebert’s last year?

UCLA who seems to be in rebuild mode?

Would be cool if Beavs could get him, have competition and depth….

    • I was getting the impression the transfer rule would equalize the talent gaps between top programs and middle and lower ones somewhat. Anyone have a strong feeling one way or the other?

      • Or a guy like Hodgins, who can set a record for receptions in 1 game, and then not see the ball thrown his way more than 1 or 2 times the next week?
Rosters will be less stable going forward, but at the same time, I do like giving the players a little more flexibility in controlling their future. Also wonder how long before the rules change to where mid-season transfers are disallowed?

        • What do stars have to do with it?

Someone will always feel entitled, and they will reneg on their commitment. It just happens.

It should happen less in favor of the semester schools, though. A kid can start classes at one of those, play garbage time for a few weeks, then decide to drop all classes and enroll in a quarter system for a full term.

Once the quarter systems start up, you have to remain for the rest of the term (or drop out quickly) if you want to be in good standing for a transfer. I suppose it’s just up to the PSA about how far behind they want to fall in school.

It’s up to the coaches how much they want to allow. I hear them crying about it a whole bunch. But I don’t see many who don’t play the same game willingly.

  16. Oregonian with a short article about Abel with fall ball underway. Lots of changes coming. It’ll be interesting to see who steps up in the fall. Some pretty intense competition at nearly all positions. Should still be a tourney bound team. Depth is there. Website shows fall ball roster. That’s a first.

I think you’ll see Adley play a little less at catcher next year too. Claunch has shown he should be on the field.

  17. Anyone want to talk football? The media constantly says that Luton throws the best deep ball. I was trying to remember any of his passes that went over 30 yards abs was completed… Does anyone know his actual deep ball statistics?

    • Seriously. I remember that one long TD to Hernandez vs CSU last year. What else?
I think Blount has more deep completions in less time and attempts. Just from memory. I’d like to see the stats.

    • Maybe in passing drills during practice, with no defense. Otherwise, I dont think this team has had more a few deep pass completions over the past 3 years, and most of those were McMaryion vs Arizona

    • according to the GT, Jonathan said today that Luton is doubtful for Saturday, so it’s ole Garrettson Jr for us against ASU, and this time he’s recovering from a concussion. Sounds like it will be another thrilling game of beaver football on Saturday night.

    • Given Morris’s injury problems, the loss of talent in the secondary, the depth st RB, would Wallace have had better value to the team at Safety?

      • I’m hearing he will be joining the baseball team. Since he already started classes the football scholarship will follow him to baseball for this year.

          • I think it benefits the football program as well. Dukart was never gonna develop into a starting QB so that scholarship being used elsewhere is ideal.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Blount transfer at some point once he loses the starting job next season (He may wait if he thinks he can get a starting job in the MWC after graduating but could see him go FCS in 2019).

I would not be shocked if the QBs on the 2019 roster are:

            Gebbia
            Colletto
Willard: Is he a good enough of athlete to move anywhere else? Think he stays at OSU through graduation but can’t see him ever seeing snaps at QB
Moore: Wouldn’t be surprised if Moore beats Colletto out for back up gig

I think thinning the QBs out might not be a bad thing.

All this transfer stuff is also why I’d be staying in contact with Michael Johnson Jr. if I were OSU. I could easily see him decide to leave Penn State if he loses out to the other Frosh (or someone else down the line) they are bringing in and decide to come back to Oregon.

    • A good move. I said this during his recruitement as well…the baseball program has a track record of taking lower level MLB draft picks and turning them into higher level MLB draft picks. This is good news for the baseball team, and insignificant for the football team.

  18. https://www.gazettetimes.com/sports/beavers-sports/football/osu-football-beavers-dealing-with-a-number-of-injuries/article_f4b80b7c-49b9-5b3c-b143-9776a1940143.html#tncms-source=infinity-scroll-summary-siderail-latest

I have no exact numbers but it does seem that the Beavs have a high percentage of injuries year-after-year-after-year and many not even occurring in games. I don’t follow other teams, so perhaps they have the same level but it just doesn’t seem so.

  19. Cooks with a good night -7 catches, 116 yards, 1 TD. I hope the TD’s increase for him, but he still tends to draw PI calls and allow opportunities for his teammates.

I remember when Goff was leaving Cal Angry was a Goff supporter and couldn’t understand why people were down on him. 5 TDs tonight, 39 and counting in three years in…

I don’t watch NFL, but if I did, I’d watch the Rams. I like the approach their taking with the exception of signing Suh who I consider a bully/cheap shot thug.

This is a team that’s built to contend with a number of impact players in or approaching their primes – Goff, Gurley, Cooks et al…a defense…

    https://www.si.com/nfl/game/2040904/box-score

    • Yeah I liked Goff and felt he would be the next star QB. No clue why people were down on him other than he went to Cal and beat up on the Beavs?

Blount is a lot better than Garrettson with regard to the discussion above. If Blount is the backup next year and the 4-star guy pans out that’s not a bad situation for year 2 of Smith. He could recruit a better backup still by February.

      • I think some mistook him for a “system” QB, who put up stats…clearly he understands the game and has the ability and isn’t simply a product of a high pass ratio offense (like maybe Mannion who sits behind him?).

      • I think people mistook him for a “system” QB who had stats from a high pass ratio offense…

        4 games into his 3rd season he’s at 39 TDs…

          • He is in the right system, but he’s making some good throws at the same time. And his receivers are awesome. He has Cooks, Woods and Kupp to throw to. Every one of them can run perfect routes and be in the right place and adjust and catch the ball.

And then you get intelligent play out of them.

On that throw to Kupp in the corner of the end zone started with Cooks jumping the snap. Fortunately, his route was a scrape that allowed him to take two steps, turn around, take two steps back and line up back in the same position. The line held through that, and the D decided to come forward on Cooks, leaving the back end open… barely.

Vikings DBs just didn’t have a chance against those receivers once they got in a groove.

          • A couple other things about the system:

Snead and McVay are like peas in a pod. Snead knows exactly what his coach’s vision is, and he knows how to get there. He was not that way with Fisher. But then, Fisher has always been less than stellar as a coach. So what vision was there to follow?

Their LT is a stud. They have meat on the Dline. I mean… Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh? Suh has less baggage now that he’s older and slower. He can’t afford to be a cheapshot punk now that he’s less able to take any retribution during play. I think he’s become a better player because of it… that, and Donald is over there.

And their DBs all have a feel for the ball in the air. Every game I watch has them knocking down passes that I see fall to the receiver a vast majority of the time.

They’re paying fair valuations for good to great players, and they’re going to be able to keep a lot of them because of the goings on in LA with the whole football scene. I never thought SoCal would buy into it, but it seems an owner who is willing to put some skin into it earns some fan capital.

        • After last night, he actually has 44TDs.

All great QBs are in a system that fits them. It’s part of what makes them great. Great HC’s build the system around the QBs skills, too. There is a symbiosis in those situations. I’m not sure Goff is great yet, but I do think he’s destined to be a star.

          • His coach is helping a lot by telling goff what to do pre snap. Rams line up quickly and Mcvay reads the defense for him and then tells him to audible or not. It’s a variation of the college speed offense. Line up and get the play call from the sideline but in the NFL, the HC can talk directly to his qb.

  20. Just read that Shaq’s kid, Sharief, who is a freshman on the UCLA mbb team had to undergo heart surgery because of some abnormality that was recently detected.
Crazy because I just saw a video of him doing all these crazy dunks in practice yesterday and was thinking he would be a force this year in the Pac12. Glad he discovered the issue when he did, he makes it sound like he could have easily died playing ball if it had gone undetected.

    • And QB Modster is leaving….seems to be quite the trend lately….

“Devon Modster, who went from a candidate to be UCLA’s starting quarterback to a third-stringer, announced Friday that he was transferring.

Displaying a strong and accurate arm, Modster completed 64.6% of his passes last season for 671 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. In his finest moment, he guided the Bruins on their game-winning drive against California that secured a bowl berth. A month later, with Kelly watching from a luxury suite high above the field, Modster passed for 295 yards and two touchdowns during a loss to Kansas State in the Cactus Bowl.”

      http://www.latimes.com/sports/ucla/la-sp-ucla-modster-20180921-story.html

  21. Maybe I am not recalling right, but wasnt there, at one time years ago, a sports wag who kept a ranking of the worst ten teams or somesuch? And at that time, OSU or UO was usually on it. If that gets resurrected, we get some national attention!

Be the shit, though, if we are once again beat out by Chip Kelly and UCLA….

    • I think you’re right. If I remember correctly, it was nationally syndicated and called something like “The Bottom 10” and teams like OSU, UO, K-State and Northwestern were frequent visitors since this was in the 80’s. I also think there was pressure from the universities to get rid of it, they apparently did not see the humor!

FYI- ESPN does it now, but here is the wiki article with the history.

  22. PHIL STEELE REPORT (#105 Oregon State @ #37 Arizona State, 9/29/2018)

Last year Arizona State jumped out to a 30-0 lead 40-10 in the 3Q. Oregon St went 77/10 for a TD re, recovered the onside and drove 53/6 for a 40-24 final (-7 away). This is the 3rd road game in 5 weeks for Oregon St and they are 0-21 on the road straight up and last year lost by 31 ppg. Last week Arizona had 29-18 FD and 594-238 yd edges vs the Beavers including 442 rush yards and Khalil Tatel was not a part of that number. While the Sun Devils started off the 2018 campaign with a pair of home victories against UTSA and Mich St, they lost at both SDSt and at Washington. Ariz St has gone an outstanding 6-1 ATS as a Pac-12 HF dating back to the end of 2014. Teams getting their first look at Ariz St’s 3-3-5 stack (SDSt runs same D) have been held to 53 ypg below their season avg and have rushed for just 79 ypg rush. Oregon St opened the year with 278 ypg rush but have just 89 ypg and 2.1 ypc the last two weeks. If you play fantasy football, put Eno Benjamin on your team this week as the Ariz St RB goes against a rush D allowing 280 ypg and 6.5 ypc.
