  1. Anyone that has a stream link would be greatly appreciated. I think alpha beav or someone like that had it last week. Super helpful thx!

    • Oh heck yeah great decision by Nolan.

Smart to go there. Free possession just puts the ball back where it was if you don’t get it. Smart there.

      • Yeah, thats a low percentage fg and wouldn’t be much of a shift in field position. Having an OSU QB scramble for a first on 4th feels so wrong. Thats what people are supposd to do to us.

        #TeamChance

  2. fucking yes. yes yes yes yes yes. Man up interception, 4th down successful qb scramble followed by a fake screen streak. Eat shit USC!

  3. #1 didn’t know Nolan had that good of wheels, he’s way faster then I thought.

#2 someone wanted TEs used more. You got your wish.

    • I think we will see a bunch of getting physically dominated. You can’t argue tht USC has better physical specimens. We have experience advantage and thats about it.

  4. This is what I was worried about. Pi’s and them just chucking it up. Either get a PI or catch. We don’t have those kind of receivers. That’s a lot of what dart did. We don’t match up well with their big WRs except Wright. Hopefully Tibs can make adjustments which this staff has done.

    • Same as always with USC. Their athletes are just incredible and it takes some luck to keep them all covered.

Our defense is not great yet. Its good. Considering where we have been, thats a great.

    • Its crazy. Thats literally the defensive player grabbing and pulling the offensive blocker to make a hole. Schad didn’t have his hands on the outside and was driving forward. wtf.

  5. As said above, the Beavs are moving the ball much too easiily and USC needs help form the refs asap. Refs sense the problem early and will keep USC in control of the game until Beavs begin to unravel. Mentally tough teams perservere and continue to make big plays.

    Go Beavs, stay the course

  6. The holding penalty that they actually showed is gonna get called every time when it’s that blatant but of course they didn’t show the other two wtf.

  7. Fuck. Nice product NCAA + PAC.

    Absurd.

And the announcers b.s. narrative, never questioning the calls or pointing out the discrepancies.

  8. I’m not really into blaming refs, but when it’s this obvious I’m going to be up their ass all night on Twitter, and the PAC’s, too. Highly suggest everyone bombard the conference in their tweets.

This game is over, btw. Even if we play well enough to win we won’t be allowed.

    • I’d love to have some explanations on these calls and non-calls. Apparently their DBs can just push the recievers 30 yards down field but ours can’t be close enough to catch covid.

  9. Non-penalty on Bradford, obviously pushed…then USC marches down the field on penalties.

Smith needs to address this with his team.

Now watch the calls start on Beaver O…

  10. Ref on USC sideline. Every time he marks gives them a generous half yard to yard. You see it once or twice, okay it happens. I start watching it closely and it’s literally every time. When it’s that blatantly obvious it’s just unreal.

  11. USC has momentum now which I was afraid of. Momentum handed to them and now the refs can step back. Really a bummer as should win this game if its straight up.

  12. Dude love that punt and not sure why they don’t do it more often. Like when Fresno lined up to punt but then ran up under center fast to draw them offside. Automatic first down. Need to be creative and great advantages.

  13. My lady is a background investigator, so if you guys can give me the names of these refs, I’ll have her look into them. Something is going on here.

  14. Smith post game: “First, I’m proud of our Oregon State student-athletes tonight. Second, the penalty calls were an embarrassment to any integrity goals of the NCAA and the PAC. I’ll take your questions now.”

  15. Might as well start head hunting the shit out of the USC players. If you’re going to get a penalty no matter what might as well get your shot in.

  16. USC is so spoiled they act like they deserve the advantage of phantom flags. Seems like the Beavs are actually more physical and more disciplined but the Trojans have been given every advantage so far and haven’t put the Beavs away yet.

  17. The false narrative of chicken shit announcers is OSU is having to commit penalties because USC is so physical, fast, whatever…

Point out the discrepancy in calls.

  18. All USC needs to do is get 15 the ball. Why isn’t Wright on him? Austin is lucky to be within 3 yards of him and definitely can’t keep up physically.

  19. Usuck players awfully chippy and mouthy aren’t they supposed to be all 4 stars etc? You’d think they were upsetting a #1 instead of being tied with osu

  20. Petros is always rooting for the Beavs and is trying not to let it show…USC has slighted him and his father over the years because he has called out the rottenness in the USC athletic department ad football program

    • I thought Petros was a little stupid when he was trying to call out Beav RedZone issues and the other guy had to set him straight. The Nolan pick was an aberration.

  21. OH fuck my shorts!!!! What a throw under pressure!!! Nolan is a gamer! He had a dude in his face on every single throw on that fucking drive.

  22. I’m told this guy is one of the refs tonight. “Pac-12 suspends referee for penalty on wrong team in Washington State loss to California” Goes on to say “The referee, listed in the official box score as Matt Richards, will serve a one-game suspension, and the remaining members of the officiating crew have been downgraded, according to the conference.”

Where is this official box score? If we find that we have the refs names, apparently.

    • Agree.

I also think our defense is not embarrassing.

      122 yard for the zebras.

      Slovis 156. Rushing attack 64.

Even my Husky friend said this one is called in by the conference.

  23. Well, down 14 to 7 with all the refs and momentum against them. And beavs go into the half up 21 to 17. Really should be better, but I feared worse with the way things were going

    • I think the J-Smith beavs have proved they literally never ever ever give up. The only game I have seen them give up in his tenure was when Utah absolutely took us behind the shed and beat us silly.

  24. Nolan seems a bit like the career arc of Aaron Rodgers. Let’s hope he becomes that type of guy for the next 2-3 years. I’m convinced he is the gamer we have all been waiting for…

  25. I really like seeing the swagger from our players again. With all the penalties and trash talking it feels like we have old DE back on the sideline. Nice to see the bad calls aren’t getting to them.

  26. Nice to see the front 7 getting a push against a USC team that regularly gets O line talent.

As we predicted, the Beavers have improved this off season.

The false narrative is they’re the same ol’ Beavs and this is USC…

  27. Stats at the half:
    Chance: 11/13, Slovis: 13/23
Beavs rush avg. 7.1yds, SpoiledChillin’ 6.4
    Penalties: OSU 10/122, SC 1/15

    Time of poss Beavs 18min15sec

  28. Need somebody to cleanly blow up London. And get up tight, hit him w/in 5 yards to throw off the timing once in a while. “Austin WTF” playing off him isn’t working.

This S will keep on playing. Not backing down.

  29. I’ll know it’s a new Beav era if we don’t get some discombobulated three and out to start the second half. Take the advantage, drive down, and fucking score. Take that two-score advantage and put the pressure on USC.

  30. Regarding Matt Richards, someone on Twitter just wrote: “Curious if the guy by the same name who used to play for Arizona 05-07. From SoCal.”

Keep the info coming. Need all the names of these guys and will do the rest. I can’t find them. There has to be a site with this info. I just can’t find it.

  31. Missed entire first half, but like the score i’m walking into.

Anuthing important i need to catch up on, like injuries or surprise performances?

  32. 26

So just called my 68 year old Dad to check in on the game. He started crying hes so happy. He played for OSU in the 73 and 74 season and was a decathlete all four years for our track team.

  33. Had this as a win, but a close win. NVBeav looking like the genius tonight.

45-21 Beavs! All 3 aspects of the game click, for 4 quarters.
    Go Beavs!!

  34. In the past, if Beavs get such a win, the coach of USC would be fired within the week, Williams may not last as the interim coach after this beatdown. How many guys did Riley get fired over the years?

  35. 11

Pretty drunk but I really want to give Smith credit for this one. He has lost us games and fucked up for sure but the attitude and belief he has instilled in these guys is palpable. They never give up and even when the refs tried their best to hand the game over on a silver plater to the hot guy they bounced back with aggressive tree biting ferocity.

That and he brought in almost all of these players. Fuck yes Smith. A few more like this and you will be as great a coach for us as a player.

When trying to bleed the clock, why not run on the edges and blatantly hold every time?
If they call the penalty, you get another extra play to bleed more clock. If they defer, the hold likely helps you gain more yardage than the average running play.

  37. 28

Goodnight, boys. Great win. Wish I had time to do a write up tomorrow, but with relatives here might not. If one of the admins wants to put up a thread go for it. Awesome night to be a Beav. Enjoy!

  38. You guys might already know this, but you can get a poster, fridge magnet, coasters, etc of that 1960 USC game at VintageBrand.com. They’ve got tons of great old marketing materials from past games if your interested in that kinds of stuff. I think the company is out of Tennessee.

  39. 11

That was essentiallly a 60 point beatdown but for the refs keeping it close for as long as they could. Unbelievable perservernce and holding things together after the egregious sequence to gift USC first half scores… Beavs are set up to make a really nice run into the Civil War. I don’t think anyone can score with them as long as Chance stays healthy. Oline is maturing and the d is beginning to show signs.

This game had a lot to complain about as far as penalties but I think the issue is that an upset usually requires overcoming the subconscious bias of referees, until they realize the reality that the favored, talent will not be able to win…

Amazing night of Beaver football. Well done JS, staff and players. Enjoy it but don’t break our hearts next week with a letdown :)

  40. 22

Game ball to Coletto, 2 TDs and a pick to seal it. Dudes an ultimate Beaver in my book. Backup QB, turned LB, and back to QB sometimes. Didn’t whine, didn’t transfer, just goes in when needed and gives it 100%. And is damn near 100% effective.

  41. Considering how things were looking after the Purdue game, I am beyond impressed. What stands out the most to me in this game is the confidence, poise, swagger, and perseverance. Tons of awful calls, London was dominating for a stretch there. Never gave in. How many times in the past would this program have folded when they went down 14-7 with all that going against them? The importance of this win cannot be understated. It doesn’t matter that USC is having a difficult season or might not be a great team. The Beavers lined up against 4/5 stars and just outplayed them in almost every aspect. Coaching was spectacular outside of a few blunders. Got our best players the ball in positions to succeed. Lots of important streaks broken tonight. Hopeful that many more will follow throughout this season. Lots to improve on still, but this team is good. With the landscape of the conference right now, dreaming big at a conference title and Rose Bowl bid is not unreasonable at all. I hope that the players realize how big of a deal this win is, but keep pressing forward and focus on the ultimate goal. Excited for our players and our fans. Hope that despite mandates, Reser is filled and rocking next weekend.

  42. What a solid effort in all 3 phases of the game. Even with the refs against us. Chance is such a stud but big big props to the O line for man handling USC’s front, opening up big lanes for the backs. Great decision making when he couldn’t find anyone open, a few mistakes but for a young kid just settling in as the starter it really seems like JS is willing to stick with him even if Gebbia is healthy. That might be the only thing that could derail a good season if we start Gebbia when Chance is still firing on all cylinders.

Mentioned it earlier but the absolute swagger and punch you in the mouth style from both sides of the ball is refreshing to see. Saw so much shit talking and standing over people after big hits. Even mocking the refs about throwing flags after an incompletion from USC lmao.

Schedule shaping up nicely with the rest of the PAC not doing so hot. If we can keep the consistency and avoid injuries and QB controversy we can win out.

  43. If we can dominate USC’s DL like that, there isn’t a DL in the conference that can stop us.

Baylor averaged 7 YPC and would have had 8.5 if it hadn’t been for the BS holding call on Nous in the first quarter.

Also, hats off to Lindgren for using our depth at TE and adapting to fit the talent on hand. That PA pass to TQ for the TD was a thing of beauty, but the consistent 2-TE formations were a big factor in running the ball.

  44. The Beavers were relentless.

    On the road? Relentless.

    Bad refereeing? Relentless.

Want to run the ball? Relentless.

TD taken away, need to score again? Relentless.

    Need will-breaking turnovers? Relentless.

  45. Riley Sharp deserves a lot of credit for his pass rushing. He was giving the USC RT all kinds of trouble, and even though he didn’t break through much, he was collapsing the pocket and forcing Slovis to run quite a bit.

    • This is really just a great TEAM. We don’t really have any true stars outside Roberts, Speights, Wright and Nolan. They fight together and don’t give in. So many guys need credit for this win.

Just look at our receivers. We don’t have a single player over 200 yards but off the top of my head Gould, Bradford, TQ, Lindsay and Harrison are all over 100. Beason and Champ are probably right there too.

Sharp, Rawls, Sandberg and Murray kept Klovis uncomfortable most of the night.

      • Baylor?!? : ) Maybe not a true “star” in recruiting terms, but he’ll be difficult for the media and pundits to ignore after this week and his production after 4 games.

Was impressive to see Harrison, not that big, fighting for yards and 6(!) USC defenders on him to finally stop him. The WR depth + Lindgren play calling is lethal.

That D line was getting a consistent push and before the end of the year, they’ll start meeting up in the backfield for TFLs.

Colleto’s career red zone efficiency is crazy.

Game ball to OLine and TEs. What blocking.

        • The only reason Baylor isn’t a star in my head is because we just had Jermar As a comparison. Baylor is a great player and taking full advantage of his shot.

          • Yeah hard to imaged he’d be more productive than Baylor. Baylor has always been a good slasher, but he bulked up and now is good all around. Team might not be as balanced if they were leaning on JJ heavily, too, so in a sense not having a big name RB leads to a more balanced attack.

Fenwick had a decent game, too.

          • Hard to find fault in the run game. They lead the Pac12 in rushing YPG.
Add in the most efficient QB in the conference and the Beavs are also the top offense from a YPG perspective.
Oregon has slightly more ppg, but that is due to kicking more field goals.
Beavs are also most efficient 3rd down conversion rate in the Pac.

  46. Wow. A WSU football player is in stable/serious condition after being shot at a party in Pullman last night. Another shooting victim died.

  47. USC. We don’t reload. We rebuild:

“This is not gonna turn around overnight,” Slovis said. “We’re trying to build something here, and Coach Donte has done a great job of starting to hold guys accountable and changing the culture and building the culture. You’re not gonna see it chance in one week, and we have a lot of work to do, and the main thing, the message we’re kind of having is we got to stay together and stay up.”

  48. “The takeaway.

Oregon State: Why not us? With the efficient Nolan leading the way and a solid defense starting to find itself, the Beavers have to feel like they can now be a factor in the jumbled Pac-12. At minimum, they are on track to reach a bowl game for the first time since the 2013 season ended with a victory in the Hawaii Bowl.

USC: It won’t be an easy fix for the Trojans’ next coach. Their issues with poor recruitment, inadequate player development and a lack of fundamentals were repeatedly exposed by Oregon State. While their search has a long way to go, they could do a lot worse than hiring someone like Beavers coach Jonathan Smith to build a stout, smart program.”

  49. 10

Okay that two minute drill before half was a legendary status Nolan performance. The amount of pressure on him was incredible and he dropped absolute dimes to his receivers.

  50. So the officials seemed to really want to see a USC win. Many of the calls in the first half were phantom. Also, hard to see anything conclusive on the INT in the end zone to overturn the call on the field. If they’re going to overturn that then they should have overturned Wright’s INT in second half. Seemed after it was clear that we were going to win no matter what the officials called they finally tried to throw some flags on USC to even out the stat sheet.

  51. 1
    3

I absolutely HATE USC, so the win last night was even better and my only wish is that we could have scored 3 or 4 more times. You could tell the cockiness from there 5 star players was starting to wane in the second half when they suddenly realized they were getting an ass kicking. I will never forget watching Tim Alexander streak up the sidelines in Parker and being hit, out of bounds, by a USC thug, severely breaking his leg. Pete C. was the coach then and he condoned and encouraged that type of play from his team, which is probably why I’m not a huge Seahawk fan. I hope that the coaching situation in LA stays in turmoil as no other team deserves it as much as them.

Good job Beavs! It’s a long time coming. Winning is infectious and we have a lot of season left.

    • Broke Tim Alexander’s collarbone, not his leg. And that 1994 game was way before Pete Carroll, his first year was 2001. I think it was during John Robinson’s 2nd USC tenure.

  52. A lot of viable game ball candidates. Oline was dominate but Nolan was lights out good. He was hitting guys on time and in stride… dimes. Plus his ability to run was dynamic. If he continues to play like this, we’ll be hard to beat.

  53. Here’s a thought on the Noyer vs Nolan situation. This is pure speculation, mind you, but it sort of makes sense to me. Iit is possible that for the majority of camp that Noyer was better at practice. He rightly earned the starting job looking at the totality. But what was not considered was the trajectory of both players. Like two cars, one going 55 at constant speed, the other going 45 but accelerating. That’s probably a difficult thing to evaluate as a coach and you can only do it after the fact. Still, I seem to recall Smith (or one of the coaches saying) that the whole of camp was evaluated but that Nolan was coming on.
Anyway, hell of a game. The only thing I can compare it to was the game vs UCLA in 1999 (I think). That was the first year of the DE era and the Beavs just destroyed them. I couldn’t believe the Beavs were that good.

  54. Seems like alot of Pac teams have had QB issues already, see Huskies, Cougs, Utah… maybe JS was ahead of the coaching curve in making the change early against Purdue and sticking with it. Look at Wazzu, De Lauria was decent as a freshmen, beat us at least. Then this season they start the transfer and he’s less then spectacular. Utah starts a transfer, who’s already transfered out. Hell, Colorado could use Noyer, he’s probably their best QB if he doesn’t transfer.
I don’t fault JS for starting Noyer, and in hindsight, we all might be really glad he made the switch to Nolan and stuck with it. Just hope Gebbia getting healthy doesn’t cause any issues…..

        • OH- this is not to disparage your post. I know its interesting to see what the “pro’s” at ESPN and elsewhere think but Im sure at the beginning of the season these same guys probably had the beavs at 4 wins. There are people that post here that have a better understanding of OSU football and its history than most talking heads will have. Throw in a solid understanding of the X and O’ s of the game and there is a good amount of knowledge football wise here. 10 wins? That would be nice but lets not get ahead of ourselves though I do think they beat the ducks again.

  55. I’ll repeat my comments from earlier last week. I think JS now becomes a possible candidate for the SC job especially after OSU dominated SC in every phase of the game. SC can throw all kinds of money at him too and him growing up in SoCal and being a fan of SC migjt be too hard to resist. Would JS be a sexy enough hire for SC, well, that remains to be seen. However, what he’s doing at OSU in really what amounts to 3 years due to Covid is quite remarkable given what the inherited. I suspect that the remainder of the season will have a lot to say about Smith’s options. In the meantime, you’re only as good as your last.game so JS must keep this team focused and prepped for the Huskies. Continue to win like last night and the possibilities are endless for this team.. Continue to win and JS becomes even more attractive for high profile programs. Let’s just hope OSU can keep JS and his staff around for a very long time. Go beavers! BTW, beavers looked like contenders last night while the over hyped ducks looked more like pretenders for much of last night.

    • He’s got a good gig going where everyone loves him. Why would he go to a place with unrealistic expectations and risk being out of a job in a few years if they don’t perform? If he wasn’t a well liked alum with ties to the university I would understand the risk of losing a coach that does well here given the perception of our football program nationally but otherwise I just can’t see him leaving anytime soon at least.

      • He’ll also end up getting national attention for Oregon State anyway.

RB Commit Martinez said something about JS telling him they were on their way to national prominence, and Martinez said he’s looking forward to helping OSU get to the next level.

    • If smith likes one thing more than winning, it’s family. College towns are good places to raise families. Plus, it appears he’s in the drivers seat of success-driven gains in compensation. Maybe if he thought he couldn’t win there he’d move on.

  56. PFF fun for today:
-Nolan is the #5 ranked passer in the country
-Baylor moves up to #17 rusher, #25 RB overall
-TQ moves up to #15 TE
-If you ignore guys with single digit snap counts, Lindsey is the #5 WR
    -Eldredge is the #25 C
    -Loecher is the #3 P

    On defense…
-Julian is still our top rated defensive player, but Rawls and Wright are closing in on him.
-Lolohea and Skelton’s ratings are surging, too. Maybe time to give them more snaps?
-If you ignore snap counts, Colletto is the top LB in the nation.

  57. Absolutely thrilled. Wasn’t that impressed with Fenwich, seemed to go down easy. Penalties were upsetting. If you we had 75 instead of 154 yards in penalties it would have been even more of a blow-out of USC who in the end had 98 penalties. Great team effort. Great team win! Go Beavs! Keep it going all the way to the Rose Bowl baby!

  58. Question about ranking was discussed above, Daschel gets it, tweets:
Not a surprise, but Oregon State did not receive a vote in this morning’s AP top 25.

  59. YAHOOOOO!!!!!!
Just watched it…..DVR’d it. That was fricking awesome. I was a two month old fetus the last time we won in LA!
Made up for the shit show I attended yesterday in Minneapolis. What a great game plan by the offensive staff.
    Go Beav’s!

  60. A few 2022 recruits I’m keeping an eye on this week as OSU/UW square off.
Ryan Otton-UW TE commit. Beavs would still definitely take him, and have a perfect opportunity to show off how important he could he in an OSU offense.

Mark Nabou- OL, former Husky recruit. Beavs are still very interested in him.

TJ Hall – Husky CB commit. Had talked about visiting osu back in July but then committed to UW. OSU is also still pursuing him. Also listed as a WR.

The visitor list should be interesting this week. Good weather, coming off a big win. Playing a local team. Havent hosted official visits yet this football season outside of Chatfield, so we’re overdue.

    • Probably not but UW and Nike are the ones who can get shady shit done the best. UW is toast this year in terms of post season selection so I don’t see a reason for the conference to push them. My guess is we have fair/typical officiating until the civil war.

      • The conference only has 4 remaining conceivable possibilities for national relevance: Nike, OSU, UCLA, ASU. Everyone else already has two losses.

If anything, the refs should start leaning in our favor.

Unfortunately, the way our schedule plays out, our toughest games are all at the end of the season so it’s going to be a very slow climb up the rankings and into national visibility.

          • Why do you think UW wins? After letting AZ hang around, a writer suggested UO plays down to the level of the competition. Is that what you’re thinking?

          • UW is just as physical as Hole on the lines, and UW has a loaded backfield. They haven’t beat the Ducks since 2017.

This game is November 6. By that time, I think Dylan Morris and his receiving corps will be hitting their stride. We are fortunate to get UW so early in the season because that team locks down on defense as the season progresses.

I think the game this weekend is a toss-up, but it’s an absolute must-win for OSU. This would be another psychological win for Smith and his roster.

          • Why is it a must win? They should win and I think they will I just don’t see it as a must win. Definitely need to at least split the Washington schools but WSU doesn’t look good.

          • I dont want to play oregon if they have a playoff appearance on the line. There’s no way you get a fairly called game on the road when the Pac desperately wants a playoff team in.

I’d rather be playing a 2 loss oregon team with OSU already comfortably alone in 1st place and just let the rankings be what they are

          • It’s a must win because any chance of winning the North will have to go through Washington. A win in Eugene would be very nice but I’m not sold that UO will lose less than 2 conference games (UW and UCLA). For OSU to truly take the next step, they need to beat the team that has really been the bane of OSU’s success. The lone loss to UW in 2000 is what kept OSU from a national championship. The 69-27 loss in 2013 really was the loss that imploded the program. The loss last year (which was completely rigged) destroyed our chances for a North title. We have been beaten badly by UW in the past decade and it is a psychological barrier to get over.

Regarding Hole, I don’t see how Hole beats UCLA at the Rose Bowl unless they stop the run. That would be loss #2. Fresno did it by using a tight formation on the DL but UCLA could have gotten around that by throwing screens. They fell behind in that game and had to abandon the run game. Chip Kelly wants that win versus his old program, especially after last year when they had a chance to win it in the final minutes.

Loss #3 is a stretch. I don’t see it happening, but the two best candidates are the upcoming game @ Stanford or @ Utah.

  61. Something tells me that Musgrave, Fenwick, and Tongue are going to have breakout games at some point. We will need them to be regular contributors for the Utah and Oregon games.

  62. Ridiculous game stat. By my count OSU had 68 rush yards negated by penalty. USC had 76 yards. We were 9 yards from having more negated rush yards than USC managed to gain.

  63. I haven’t gone and looked at the stats but wasn’t the fiesta bowl team heavily penalized as well? I’m more concerned about the offensive penalties than the the defensive penalties.

      • 3
        1

This team’s confidence is better than the “Erickson swagger” in my opinion. It seems more measured and less likely to negatively impact them. I don’t expect them to taunt or do things like late hits.

And I don’t see these receivers getting so cocky they’re dropping the ball before they even cross the goal line.

        • I think it was during the Hawaii game that the TV play by play guy mentioned a big “Excellence without Arrogance” message painted on a wall inside the Reser locker room. This seems to really fit Smith’s style/personality and maybe the “Erickson swagger” is something JS remembers and wants to keep channeled in the right direction.

  64. Finished the game on the dvr this morning.

That’ll do Beavs. Feels great to get that 10,000 pound gorilla off their backs.

Hadn’t happened in my lifetime and I’m on the downhill side. Honestly thought it never would happen.

There’s not a game left on the schedule this team isn’t capable of winning.

Now go beat the ever loving shit out of the leg humpers. Owe them one after the refs gifted them a win in Seattle last year.

  65. Anybody see the Ohio State LB who quit in the middle of the 3rd quarter yesterday? And he was playing in the game too. Just walked off the field, said he’s done, ripped off his jersey and threw his gloves into the stands, then walked i to the locker room and tweeted “Fucc Ohio State” and that’s how retired from football.

  66. Few, quick thoughts:

Really feel prediction by NvBeav (?) & Lindsay’s post game comment were on the mark. 1st game where everything clicked; important to note, on the road no less.

Going forward, I expect to see similar consistency, hopefully!

Props to offensive play calling. This was, “with the book” opened up. A variety of plays that I don’t recall seeing in some time. Thinking of recent seasons, offense did not feel as diverse — certain down and distance sometimes one could guess what the Beavers were going to run before they broke huddle?

Nolan had lights out good game. Not perfect, but key: ball seemed to be placed well where the receiver could adjust to catch it… and receivers ADJUSTED to it. In the past, this wasn’t even possible for all kinds of reasons.

For Nolan’s health over rest of the season, would prefer a -little- less heat if possible. Felt like OL gave excellent effort.

3-1, onward. Try to stay healthy for the tough games.

    • No trick plays, just simply outplaying them.

As much as today’s game is about spreading people out, I love that OSU can go w/multiple TEs and run the ball down opponents throats. Baylor is in a mission, and I expect Fenwick will get more consistent.

BTW, OSU can expect this same kind of referee treatment at Autzen, as the PAC will likely try to protect Oregon.

kudos to Angry for calling a program defining victory. Raises the question: what was, or were, the other great defining victories when the program began to rise in the late 90’s? Someone above suggested that epic beat down of UCLA in ’99, but to give Riley credit, you have to put the CW in ’98 on that list. For that matter, the win vs. SC in Corvallis in 2000.
Nolan is providing the best QB play for OSU since Moore in ’06, may Smith himself in 2000. How many more years of eligibility does Nolan have?

  68. Are we sure this was a big of a deal for the program as when Garretson recovered that fumbled snap only to run in for the walk-off TD against CAL?

  69. Why do the Seahawks continue to have a historically bad defense?????

17-7 lead in the 2nd quarter, then cannot get off the field on defense. You had halftime to make adjustments after Minnesota came back to take the lead. Feels like watching the Beavs defense the last few years.

    3rd and 13 and you can’t stop them??? 7 for 10 on 3rd downs?

Not even a Seahawks fan but that’s ridiculous. Turning the channel.

    • And they – or their fans – seem to perceive they’re legitimate contenders. The glory days of the defense are now several years behind them.
