Lack of Excitement around Football Recruiting. Upcoming Baseball Season.
I’ve been following recruiting closely for over a decade, and never has there been such little interest.
Curious to hear some theories as to why that is.
Some theories that come to mind:
- Losing season has everyone down.
- Same caliber of players the Beavers have always recruited, so there’s no obvious upgrade.
- Lack of star power, and no big name guys realistically in the mix.
- Stale and stagnant program, so fans are not only disinterested in recruiting, but disinterested overall.
Any thoughts? I’m shocked. At this rate Mamma Machado, and her reportedly douche bag husband, will have to look for new work soon!

Something I am excited about is the baseball season. The lady and I are going to the games at UCLA this year.
Beavs are ranked #4 to start the year. Brooks Hatch has some decent notes.
Craig Robinson to Princeton?
He doesn’t seem happy at OSU, and OSU fans aren’t happy with him, so this seems likely. It will be interesting to see how fans, and more importantly, Bob D, react to this given CR is on a mini run. Watch him sign CR to a lifetime contract off this winning streak.
In a side note, the carrot (Kolton Miller) BeaverBlitz was dangling for memberships committed to UCLA.

Beaver fans seem excited about Xavier Hawkins, newest commit.
Here are his highlights.
Folks from Tennessee say he’s under the radar and one of the best players in State. Reminds me of what Oregonians said about Jordan Poyer. With Poyer the talent was obvious, but I am not seeing it with Hawkins. He looks to me more like Malcolm Marable than Jordan Poyer…
